‘Jersey Shore’ Stars Ronnie, Vinny Tease Season Three

‘The authenticity of us being home, it’s right back at you,’ Ronnie says of return to Seaside Heights. By Kyle Anderson, with reporting by James Montgomery “Jersey Shore” stars Vinny Guadagnino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Photo: MTV News For “Jersey Shore” fans, this past Sunday night was an amazing evening. Not only did a brand-new episode air before the Video Music Awards pre-show, but the cast was all over the white carpet and continued to pop up again during the main show. Having just wrapped the third season of the “Shore” — the gang heads back to the friendly confines of Seaside Heights, New Jersey in this installment — MTV News caught up with Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and new castmate Deena Cortese to get some scoop on the next season, which includes a few run-ins with the law . “We just finished [season three], and we’re good law-abiding citizens,” Vinny told us. “Some people break laws, but it’s on camera, so everything that happens, you guys see. But we’re the same kind of human beings as anybody.” Ronnie, who was arrested last month as a result of several unpaid parking tickets, shrugged it off. “I had a parking ticket. It was nonsense. I can’t run for governor now!” he joked. But what can viewers expect from the third season likely premiering some time later this year? “The best things you liked about us in season one, the authenticity of us being home, it’s right back at you in season three,” Ronnie said. “You’ll just have to watch to find out.” Cortese also played “Shore” details close to the vest. “I don’t want to give anything away,” she said. “But there’s a lot more comedy this year.” What are you hoping to see in the third season of “Jersey Shore”? Let us know in the comments! Don’t miss “Jersey Shore” every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Related Photos VMA 2010: Jersey Shore Cast Jersey Shore (Season 2) | Ep. 7 | Flipbook

Ali Larter Did Not Have A ‘Jersey Shore’ Youth

The ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife’ star, a Jersey native, does like to wind down with the show. By Kara Warner Ali Larter Photo: MTV News “Resident Evil: Afterlife” star Ali Larter started her entertainment career as a Ford model and has gone on to appear in many films and television shows. (You may remember the whipped-cream bikini she sported in “Varsity Blues.”) Larter hails from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, so we had to ask if the former “Heroes” star was familiar with MTV’s current reality-TV darling “Jersey Shore.” “I watched three episodes last night,” Larter admitted with a smile. “I think that ‘Jersey Shore,’ they just cast it so well, but [many of the cast members are] really from New York,” she emphasized. “So they’re not really from New Jersey. I’m also from South Jersey, that’s like Margate, Stone Harbor — there’s a touch of Wildwood, where you might see some guidos hanging around,” she said. While she noted that the area where she grew up is not at all like Seaside Heights, she told MTV News that she has had a bit of experience with the “Jersey Shore” archetype. “I definitely, in my day, dated a guy named Maggidio who had a red IROC [an edition of Chevrolet’s Camaro that was produced between 1985 and 1992]. So I had my moment with the guidos,” she recalled. “But that’s not really [indicative of] the Jersey shore — that’s a personality type of someone who really plays up that role.” Regardless, Larter is still a fan of the show. “The casting is so unbelievable. It’s funny and it’s really unbelievable,” she said. “It’s astonishing, some of the things that come out of their mouth.” Larter added that the merry band of tanned, toned and often intoxicated misfits often makes for excellent entertainment. “Nothin’ like a dish of chicken piccata and a little ‘Jersey Shore,’ ” she said. Snooki Gets Fine, Community Service In Disorderly Conduct Case

‘Thank you judge for understanding,’ ‘Jersey Shore’ star tweets after sentencing. By Gil Kaufman Snooki in court on September 8 Photo: TMZ “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi , appeared in a Seaside Heights, New Jersey, courtroom on Wednesday (September 8) to face misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, creating a nuisance and being criminally annoying. After a brief hearing, the judge in the case found that she was not guilty of criminal conduct in the July 30 incident and agreed to a deal in which Polizzi pleaded guilty to disturbing the quiet enjoyment of the beach, and the disorderly conduct and public nuisance counts were dismissed. Polizzi had earlier pleaded not guilty to all three charges. She was sentenced to two days of community service and fined $533. “Ah never again! So scary…thank you judge for understanding, I’m very thankful for that! Whew…now I can breath!” Snickers tweeted a half hour after leaving court. Following the court appearance, Polizzi’s lawyer, Ray Raya, said the entire incident was blown out of proportion and that it was simply the case of a young woman having some fun and a few drinks with her friends. “She just acted silly on the beach that day,” said Raya in a press conference streamed on TMZ following the hearing. “Her conduct was not criminal … she stumbled into a couple of people on the beach.” Raya said it is the nature of Snooki’s unique reality-TV celebrity that everywhere she goes, she draws a big crowd, and on the day in question he said she was being trailed by more than 300 people who were screaming her name and trying to get her attention. “It was an anomaly in an otherwise well-lived life,” he said. But Raya took issue with comments by Judge Damian Murray during the hearing, in which the judge called the pint-size dynamo a “Lindsay Lohan wannabe,” comparing her to the recently rehabbed star with a history of drug issues and arrests. Raya pointed out that Polizzi has no such record and that she promised that this would be her last time in a courtroom for this kind of behavior. According to TMZ , the judge scoffed at Polizzi’s antics in the incident, during which she reportedly was spotted with a beer bong, falling off her bicycle and stumbling into other people on the beach. Murray urged Snooki to decide if “it was worth trading your dignity for a paycheck.” Murray also wondered how much was scripted and how much came from Snooki herself, saying that going through life acting “profane” and “self-indulgent” was no way to live. Polizzi assured him that nothing was scripted and that all her boozy antics were her idea alone. A contrite Snooki, wearing a dark gray suit, said she was “very embarrassed” by the incident and that she has never been in this kind of, well, situation, before. Raya said Polizzi has already served some time at the Popcorn Park Zoo as part of a community service agreement, feeding the lions and cleaning out animal cages. By Jocelyn Vena The cast of “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV The 2010 VMAs may be going live in Los Angeles this year, but MTV viewers will get a glimpse of Seaside Heights when the cast of “Jersey Shore” appears to present on September 12. But it’s not all “GTL” at the MTV Video Music Awards: The just got a bit more “Glee”-ful, as castmembers of the hit Fox show, including Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley will also be on hand to present on Sunday. And those aren’t the only big names just added to the presenters list. TV talk-show maven and former “American Idol” host Ellen DeGeneres (who will tape an episode of her show at the VMAs), “Burlesque” star Cher, VMA-nominated Katy Perry, “Star Trek” star Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, the cast of “Jackass” including Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O are all presenting, along with reality-show starlet Kim Kardashian and Romeo of the Latin music sensation Aventura. Before the VMAs kick off at 9 p.m. ET, “Hills” star and newly named “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Audrina Patridge will be the official MTV International “2010 MTV Video Music Awards” red-carpet guest correspondent. I mean it’s sweet, it’s a sweet ass, but it’s little and it’s white,” she joked. “I’m there to be funny, kind of, so hopefully I’ll just kind of doing that.” The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on September 12. The party starts with MTV News’ VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Jersey Shore Shop Owners Welcome Snooki And Company Back Home

‘You can’t pay for the exposure we’ve got,’ says Danny Merk, who owns the store where the cast worked in season one. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Ignacio Guzman Snooki Photo: MTV In addition to keeping local law enforcement busy ( really busy ), the stars of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” have also made an impact of a different sort on the town of Seaside Heights, New Jersey: an economic one. Seems business is booming on the boardwalk, especially now that the show is back in town to tape its third season . Seaside Heights Business Improvement District executive director Maria Maruca probably summed it up best when she told MTV News earlier this year that “we can’t even calculate the economic benefit” the show brings to the community. “There’s the curiosity factor,” she said. “Celebrities draw crowds. That’s going to give us an edge that we didn’t have before. The exposure that the show brought to Seaside Heights — when every late-night host is talking about Snooki, when Leonardo DiCaprio is talking about the show — we could never have afforded that type of media. This is more than we could ever have asked for.” So, determined to find out just how Snooki and company have helped out local businesses, we trekked out to the boardwalk and asked owners of some of Seaside’s best-known shops — some of which have already been featured prominently on the show. ” ‘Jersey Shore’ has helped Seaside Heights [in] both winter and summer. We get people coming in here every day looking for the cast,” said Michael Carbone, owner of the Beachcomber Bar and Grill (the same place where Snooki was hit last season). “You go down by the house, there’s a hundred people standing outside, every day. Business is up, the town is up. People come here for the ‘Jersey Shore.’ ” The Beachcomber benefits doubly, as it has a catering contract with MTV and, according to an NBC News report, serves thousands of meals for the 130 crew members who work on the “Shore.” “It’s helped everybody. Businesses in town, the motel owners, even the crew that makes the show have been patrons of my bar every night,” Carbone said. “We are hoping the show runs for years and years to come. … It’s a big craze, and it’s doing very well for everybody.” Those sentiments are echoed by Danny Merk, who owns the Shore Store, where the cast of the show (sorta) worked during season one. “It’s been busy in here all the time now. It’s great that I own a gift shop … people wanna buy little souvenirs. T-shirts. Little things, and this is the place to be at,” he said. “But it’s helped all the business on the boardwalk, because you can’t just shop at one store. … You can’t pay for the exposure we’ve got. “It came out of nowhere, [and] all of a sudden the kids came down here. They worked like average kids during the day, went out to the clubs at night,” he continued. “Now, it’s just nonstop. Everyone wants to see what they are doing. What did they do, what places they went to. They want to be like them. A lot of people just worship them.” Even though his store wasn’t featured on the show, Mike Rariden’s Adrenaline Body Piercing and Tattoo shop has definitely reaped the benefits of the toned (and tatted) “Jersey Shore” kids — even if he can’t seem to comprehend just why. ” ‘Jersey Shore’ has definitely brought a lot more people out than it has been in previous years. Everybody is trying to get in on the action, get on the show, meet the cast and crew,” he said. “They’ve definitely increased business a lot. … [There’s] a big population of younger kids that all look at Snooki as their hero. I don’t know why, but, hey.” Don’t miss “Jersey Shore” every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Related Videos The Return Of ‘Jersey Shore’ Related Photos Jersey Shore (Season 2) | Snooki

Snooki’s Lawyer Enters Not Guilty Plea

‘Jersey Shore’ star was not in Seaside Heights courtroom for disorderly conduct case on Wednesday. By Gil Kaufman Snooki in her booking photo on July 30 Photo: WireImage A lawyer for “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was in a Seaside Heights, New Jersey, courtroom on Wednesday (August 18), where he entered a not guilty plea on behalf of his client. According to The Associated Press, attorney Raymond Raya entered not-guilty pleas to three charges of disorderly conduct and creating a public nuisance stemming from a July 30 incident in which police said Polizzi became disruptive on the beach during filming for the show. Snooki did not appear at Wednesday’s hearing in municipal court in Seaside Heights, the shore town she and her housemates have made famous, thanks to their exploits on the MTV reality series. Prosecutors said Snooki, 22, could also face an additional public nuisance charge. A trial in the case is scheduled for September 8. Photos taken on the day of the arrest showed Snooki walking along the boardwalk with “Shore” pals Vinnie and Ronnie. In the images, the pint-size poofstress is sporting a hot-pink tiger-print T-shirt that reads “I Heart Snooki,” a baseball cap, a miniskirt and green slippers. She was reportedly taken in after beachgoers complained that she was bothering them. A week later, a defiant Snooki said that despite spending a few hours in police custody, taking a mascara-smeared mugshot and facing a potential fine of $250 to $1,000, she wasn’t sweating the arrest. “I don’t know why people are taking it so seriously,” Snooki told MTV News . “I had a couple cocktails and they just put me in a drunk tank to sober me up. I was on the beach. It happens to the best of us, and I’m not planning on going back to jail ever again. I was a public nuisance — big deal!” Even if she’s found guilty, Snooki will not face jail time, which is good, because she believes she’s way too fab to be behind bars. “I’m too pretty to be in jail,” she said. “I’m a good person. I’m not a criminal, and I will never go back there. … You can’t even contain me. When I was in there, I was like, ‘Can I come out? I can’t breathe!’ Not a fun place. I will never go back.” Watch “Jersey Shore” every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. Related Photos Jersey Shore (Season 2) | Snooki
