T.I.’s Arrest Companion Indentified As Convicted Felon

Tip may have further violated probation by driving with Cortez ‘C-Rod’ Thomas, who was also in on rapper’s 2007 attempt to purchase illegal firearms. By Jayson Rodriguez T.I. Photo: Brad Barket/Getty Images T.I. might be in more trouble with the law than originally believed. According to reports, T.I. was accompanied by a convicted felon when he was pulled over and arrested in Los Angeles on September 1. It’s a strict no-no for convicted felons — Tip is also a felon — to associate with each other. Now, documents uncovered by TheSmokingGun.com reveal that the felon was reportedly Cortez “C-Rod” Thomas, the man who allegedly helped facilitate T.I.’s attempted illegal firearm purchase in October 2007, which led to the Atlanta MC’s most recent prison stint and subsequent probation. Thomas, according to records, allegedly assisted T.I. (born Clifford Harris) by transferring a wealth of cash to the rapper’s bodyguard. The bodyguard was later set up by federal officials and agreed to participate in a sting against the “Takers” star. Thomas was never charged in the incident, but he is named and information regarding his past is included in material related to T.I.’s original case. Thomas’ rap sheet includes drug charges and claims of physical intimidation; earlier this year, he was convicted on felony drugs and weapon charges and received 15 years probation. The new information adds to the case being mounted against T.I. In addition to the controlled substances found in his car — later identified as Ecstasy, marijuana — the rapper may have also had the opiate codeine in his system, according to TMZ . The Atlanta judge who oversaw T.I.’s gun case and structured an experimental plea deal with him has ordered the rapper to appear in court to explain his actions and make a case for why his behavior doesn’t violate the terms of his probation. “We are very disappointed in Mr. Harris’ recent conduct,” United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said in an e-mail to MTV News on Friday (September 17). “We will make our sentencing recommendation at the revocation hearing.” A hearing date for T.I. had not been scheduled at press time. Lindsay Lohan’s Profane Nail Art Sends Mixed Message In Court

Photos show the actress had the words ‘F— U’ written on the nail of her middle finger. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan at her court hearing on July 6 Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images As Lindsay Lohan tearfully, humbly pleaded with Judge Marsha Revel in a Beverly Hills, California, courtroom on Tuesday, the actress was subtly sending a somewhat different message with her nail. Lohan, 24, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail to be followed by 90 days in rehab for violating her probation from a 2007 DUI case by missing weekly alcohol-education classes . Close-ups of photos taken by The Associated Press revealed that Lohan had the message “F— U” written on the airbrushed nail of the middle finger on her left hand, which she frequently pressed to her lips and cheek during Tuesday’s hearing. At press time, it was unclear if Lohan entered the courtroom with the profane nail art or if she scribbled it on during the course of the nearly day-long hearing. It was also unclear for whom the message was intended. Lohan’s lawyer could not be reached for comment. “As far as I knew, I was in compliance with my programs. … I wasn’t trying to get special treatment,” said Lohan, whose crying jag instantly became a ubiquitous image on the Internet within minutes of the sentencing. “I have to provide for myself. I have to work. Having said that, I did everything to balance my jobs and showing up. … I’m not taking this as a joke; it’s my life and career. … I take responsibility for my actions. I’ve tried to do the best I can. It’s been such a long haul. I don’t want you to think I don’t respect you and your terms.” A legal analyst for the “Today” show, Dan Abrams, said on Wednesday morning that the sentence handed down was a “very stiff” one that was most likely meant to send a message to Lohan, as well as to the rest of the community looking on. “If she’d been anyone else, she’d be serving less time than anyone else in this case,” Abrams said. Lohan is scheduled to surrender on July 20 to begin serving her jail term and is likely to only serve a quarter of her sentence due to jail overcrowding, meaning she could be out after serving less than 25 days. Abusing father labelled ‘evil incarnate’

June 26th 2010… A JUDGE has called a New York man “evil incarnate” before sentencing him to serve 50 years to life for sexually assaulting his six-month-old daughter and dumping her in the woods. Cory Clarke was ordered to serve a maximum 25 years for attempted murder and a maximum 25 years to life for predatory sexual assault against a child, the two most serious charges of which he was found guilty in March. The sentences must be served consecutively, meaning Clarke, 28, will not be eligible for parole until he turns 78. He was also sentenced on other charges for sexual crimes and child endangerment. “On that day, you lost your humanity and you became evil incarnate,” Judge Frank LaBuda said. “This was a vicious, evil act committed beyond the pale of reason or explanation.” Clarke, who had just been awarded visitation rights to his daughter, left her in a forest near the Wal-Mart in Monticello, about 145km from New York City, on July 4 2009. He then reported the baby as missing to Wal-Mart employees. He told employees and police investigators he left his daughter outside a bathroom while he changed her brother’s diaper and returned to find her gone. Five hours later, the infant was found alive in a wooded area about 150m from the store, lying face down in mud and grass with no nappy or pants. Clarke was eventually accused of abusing the baby on July 3 at his home in Monticello. Prosecutors said he dumped the baby and concocted the kidnapping story to hide the abuse. “He should have been her protector, her shield from the evils of the outside world, but instead he became her assaulter, her abuser,” District Attorney Jim Farrell said. Fred Neroni, Clarke’s attorney, would not comment after the sentencing but vowed to file an appeal within 30 days. The baby’s mother did not attend the sentencing. http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/world/abusing-father-labelled-evil-incarnat… added by: eden49

Man Stabs Wife 250 times, Eats her Liver and Lungs: Gets 15 Years in jail

Insane? An Abuse Victim? A Muslim Husband? Late last week, Google directed me to a newspaper in Australia (!) where I read about a man who stabbed his wife 250 times; needless to say, he killed her. The report went on to allege that this killer also ate his wife’s liver and lungs while their four year-old daughter watched from the next room. The article also said that this fiend was sentenced to only 15 years to life. It also noted that although this man stabbed his wife 250 times, he hotly denies being a cannibal. That bad he’s not. Even monstrous killers have pride. What the hell is wrong there Down Under, I wondered. And then—I read the most amazing bit of information. This heinous murder had not taken place in Australia but in my own backyard, in Queens, New York, three years ago, in 2007. And, while the crime and 2010 sentencing were viewed as newsworthy in Australia and India, the sentencing was not covered at all in the (hardcopy) liberal mainstream media. Well, it does sound more like a National Enquirer story, doesn’t it? Now, who would commit such a savage murder? Was the murderer a domestic version of Jeffrey Dahmer who raped, murdered, then ate children and young men? But Dahmer and his ilk are not often married to women and do not have children. Well, a serial killer might do this to a girl or woman whom he does not know, someone whom he believes is a prostitute. Again, these psychopaths do not prey upon their wives. And then, of course, I knew, “racist” that I presumably am, that the murder had probably been committed by a Third World immigrant, let’s say, someone from South Asia, for these are all the pseudonyms for…Muslims and for Muslim terrorists. Sure enough, the murderer’s name is Mohammed Solaiman; his victim’s name was Shahida Sultanna. The New York Post and the Daily News covered the sentencing. The New York Times did not. Ironically, the Paper of Record did cover this murder, briefly, in 2007, when it happened—but in an article that also covered another Queens-based murder—as if to say that the borough of “Queens” was the true subject. Needless to say, no reporter dared note the murderer’s ethnicity, culture, or religion. It’s anybody’s guess. Clearly, journalists might not view this information as relevant or they may already know that their editors will simply take it out as “racist” profiling. In court, Solaiman’s lawyer claimed that Solaiman, who was 49 years old at the time of the crime, was an “abused” husband whose 32-year-old wife had verbally and physically “abused” him for six years. While May-December marriages certainly exist in the West, they more closely characterize marriages in the developing and Muslim world. Of course, the other Mo (Hassan), the husband who beheaded his wife in Buffalo, is also claiming that he was an “abused” husband too. Just like Major Nidal Hasan, Buffalo “Mo” is claiming that he’s the victim and/or that he suffers from some diminished capacity or emotional disturbance brought about by “abuse.” This is a consistent strategy. A number of Muslim wife-killers and daughter-killers honestly feel that they are the true victims, that their wives abused them and their daughters “dishonored” them—and that, in turn, these adult men felt “attacked,” and were forced to “defend” themselves. In 1989, Palestina Isa’s father, a St Louis, Missouri-based Abu Nidal terrorist, described how “attacked” he and his family felt by his too-Americanized daughter. Thus, after a lifetime of physical and verbal abuse had failed to tame his daughter, he and his wife stabbed the 16 year-old thirteen times. As I’ve discovered in my most recent study about honor killings, while there are Hindus and Sikhs who perpetrate honor killings, this is primarily a Muslim-on-Muslim crime. And, these deaths are often very torturous. Worldwide, the torture rate that accompanies a female honor killing is 54%; North America has the lowest torture rate (35%); the Muslim world rate is 51%; Europe has the highest torture rate (68%). Ellen Sheeley, the author of a study on honor killings in Jordan, wrote to me privately and congratulated me on the study. However, she said that every single honor killing she’d investigated in Jordan was a torture-killing (read it all) added by: crystalman

Roman Polanski Loses In Absentia Bid

Roman Polanski was rebuffed by a California appeals court, which ruled that the 76-year-old filmmaker must return to the United States to face the sentencing he fled from in 1978. His extradition fight continues, though probably not for much longer; the “in absentia” ruling was one of the last hang-ups facing Switzerland in its negotiations with the U.S. [ Reuters ]

Lil Wayne Not Involved In Weekend Brawl, Rikers Island Source Says

Source says Wayne is doing ‘well’ in jail. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News From all indications, Lil Wayne is doing fine in prison. He began his sentence on March 8 and arrived at Rikers Island later that day, and last week, his friend and associate Mack Maine posted a message on Twitter saying: “Jus left Rikers Island … Spoke wit Wayne for 2hrs … He’s good. Told me to tell y’all wadup … Special website komin soon … #thank God … LUV.” On Monday (March 29), a source inside Rikers Island who asked that his name not be made public gave MTV News some observations about how Wayne is holding up. “He’s doing well. He’s adapting to the situation,” the source said, adding that Wayne was not involved in a brawl that took place at the facility over the weekend in which 13 officers and three inmates were injured, according to New York’s Daily News . The incident reportedly occurred after inmates refused to be locked in for the night, and did not take place in the area of the facility where Wayne is being held. The source also scotched a rumor that Wayne got into a confrontation with another inmate just days after his sentencing. “That’s a rumor I heard, but nothing substantiated,” the source said, adding that Wayne is usually in protective custody and, for the most part, has been getting a positive reaction from inmates. However, the source said that some inmates seem not to be aware of his situation. “While he’s walking the hallways, he’s told not to communicate with these guys,” the source explained. “So they’re a bit disgruntled because he’s not hollering back.” Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison on gun-possession charges and could be released after serving eight months , assuming good behavior. Erin Andrews to Peephole Stalker: You Violated Me!

“You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant. They should lock you up.” With these words, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews tore into Michael David Barrett, the stalker who pleaded guilty in December to following her to at least three cities and shooting nude videos of her through hotel peepholes without her consent. “You violated me and you violated all women,” Erin said told the total creep and now convicted stalker, who was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for videotaping her. The Illinois insurance executive gave a tearful apology for the peephole video of Erin Andrews nude , but it fell upon deaf ears and was harshly rebuked by his victim. In fact, Andrews urged the judge at the hearing to levy an even harsher sentence against Barrett and said that she now fears for her life every time she enters a hotel. After the sentencing, she said, “Thirty months isn’t enough.” NOT ENOUGH : Erin says the perv’s 30-month sentence doled out yesterday may not be long enough for his creepy behavior. We find it hard to argue with her there . Michael Barrett , who has until May 3 to surrender, was ordered to have supervised probation for three years after his release and is prohibited from contacting Erin. He will not be allowed to stay in a hotel without approval of a probation officer and if he accepts employment somewhere, Andrews will be notified by the court. You can watch Erin Andrews in less creepy fashion beginning next week, when she joins the cast of Dancing with the Stars. Last week, we sized up her chances .
