Lindsay Lohan stole the show, and fortunately nothing else, on Friday night. At Cynthia Rowley’s Fashion Week show, New York Magazine ‘s fashion bloggers The Fug Girls wrote that Lohan showed up and “nearly caused a riot.” Not because she was wasted and hysterical, for once. But due to the fact that she is still kind of a celebrity that can turn heads like that apparently. To hear the Fug Girls describe the madhouse: “The entire room sat up ramrod straight and let out excited, disbelieving, four-letter expletives as we all realized this was actually Lindsay Freaking Lohan.” Wearing tiny shorts and a flowing white top, Lohan was escorted to her front row seat by security. Some photographers wanted Lindsay Lohan pictures so badly that dude actually went out on the runway (a big no-no) to get a closer shot. Event organizers quickly confiscated his camera and his credentials. “The room applauded, led by Lindsay herself,” said the site. Lohan wasn’t too phased by the commotion she caused on the runway. She wrote Friday: “Beautiful work, Cynthia. I can’t wait to take you to dinner.” You know who else could use a nice dinner? Ali Lohan . Yikes! [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
Rihanna is going blond and masculine for a new Armani Jeans campaign. After becoming the latest spokesperson, the singer made her way to a photo shoot in New York yesterday. Armani has already released the first of what will surely be many Rihanna pictures from the upcoming campaign for the brand. Here’s the image, shot in monochrome by Steven Klein: Thoughts on Rihanna’s latest look?
Have we already found the first X Factor champion? Granted, it’s a bit early to make such a claim, considering the singing competition doesn’t premiere until September 21. But Fox aired an eight-minute preview of the Simon Cowell-judged series last night and gave extended time to Rachel Crow, a 13-year old with a winning personality, a sad personal tale and a terrific dance. Check her out below, along with a dude that drops his pants on stage, a wild hairstyle on Paula Abdul and other behind-the-scenes clips from what is likely to be this fall’s top-rated show. Paul Simon appeared along with Yo-Yo Ma and James Taylor at Ground Zero today to commemorate the World Trade Center memorial. He sang “The Sound of Silence,” a choice that clearly resonated with the audience. 10 years ago, Simon sang “A Bridge Over Troubled Water” during the “America: A Tribute to Heroes” benefit concert. Unlike his performance then, Simon’s rendition today sounded less like a production… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Huffington Post Discovery Date : 11/09/2011 19:20 Number of articles : 2

‘If the show’s popular, people will hopefully know when the schedule changes and they’ll still watch it,’ ‘X Factor’ creator says. By Jocelyn Vena The “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell Photo: Ray Mickshaw/ FOX On Tuesday night during the MLB All-Star Game , viewers got a sneak peek of the upcoming season of “X Factor.” In it, fans were reacquainted with Simon Cowell — both the good and the bad — and Paula Abdul and got to meet new judges Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid. This marks the first time, but not the last time, that “X Factor” and baseball will cross paths. When MTV News spoke to show creator Simon Cowell earlier this year, he weighed in on how Fox and the show were planning on scheduling the reality competition during the tail end of baseball season, which may affect “X Factor” airings. “Well, Fox shows baseball, so I mean it’s not 100 percent ideal and it does affect a couple of weeks, but we’ve got some ideas, which we’re talking to the network about, which are slightly different to what other shows have done,” Cowell explained. The show kicks off on September 21 and the 2011 baseball season still has a long way to go, but Cowell insists fans won’t have a hard time balancing the two. “So it might work in our favor, and my gut feeling is if the show’s popular, people will hopefully know when the schedule changes and they’ll still watch it,” he added. While the show isn’t that different from his former gig at “American Idol,” Cowell said that he’s excited to try out something new. “When you do something new, it’s definitely more fun, otherwise you get into a routine and it’s like that movie ‘Groundhog Day,’ ” he said. “And this reminds me of when we were launching ‘Idol’ 10 years ago. I didn’t know what was going to happen or if anyone was going to watch it and it was exciting. “And this is sort of the same because nobody knows what this show is really going to look like. And if it’s anything like I hope it’s going to be, it’s going to be a lot of fun,” he said.
