Lady Gaga’s Love Story With Rob Fusari

Lady Gaga’s former boyfriend, producer and business partner claims that he helped launch the pop star, and is now suing her for $35 million because she squeezed him out of her lucrative career after their failed relationship. Rob Fusari, a songwriter and producer, said that he’s the man who came up with Stefani Germanotta’s stage name which is “Lady Gaga”. He also co-wrote some of her song and helped her get record deal. He filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in a Manhattan state court. Their story starts in spring of 2006 when Stefani Germanotta, 20-year-old, rode a bus from Manhattan to Fusari’s studio in Parsippany, New Jersey, to work on music. When Fusari saw the young Italian girl, he was worried that he made a mistake because he was expecting someone a little more dirt-rocker than the girl who came at his doorstep. He then asked her to play one of her songs on the piano. After seeing her performance, he realized that she has a potential to become a star. Though he found her songs were brilliant, something is lacking, it’s commercial appeal. He strongly encouraged Germanotta to explore varieties of musical style. He spent several months working with her every day and radically reshaping her approach. During those times, Germanotta commuted from New York to Jersey seven days a week. He also persuaded her to drop rock riffs for dance beats, demonstrating how the sound of a drum machine would not affect the wholeness of her music. The suit claims that he transformed Germanotta into Lady Gaga, a name adapted from Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga.” As they were working intensely and becoming much closer with each other, their romance began to grow deeper. Then Germanotta and her father signed a contract with Fusari committing 20 percent share. In May 2007, Lady Gaga got a new recording contract with Interscope. After that, she had stopped answering Fusari’s phone calls. Still, Fusari co-wrote and produced four songs on Lady Gaga’s debut album “The Fame”, including the hit Paparazzi”. Lady Gaga won two Grammys in January, best dance recording for her song”Poker Face” and best electronic and dance album for “The Fame” Lady Gaga’s Love Story With Rob Fusari is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Jessica Simpson Works With Billy Corgan On New Song

‘It’s about the beauty of who we are and embracing that and knowing that we are all authentic,’ she says of the theme to her new show. By Jocelyn Vena Jessica Simpson Photo: MTV News Not only is Jessica Simpson returning to the world of reality TV for her new docu-series, “The Price of Beauty,” but she’s also giving fans some new music, thanks to the show’s theme song, “Who We Are.” Simpson worked with Billy Corgan , Evan Bogart, Shari Short and Kerry Brown on the track and said it really embraces the show’s theme about loving the person you are. “I ended up writing the song with some friends and it was about all these places that I’d gone to and the experience that I had,” she told MTV News about the track written specifically for the show. The tune reflects what she learned as she traveled the globe and observed that different cultures find different things beautiful. “It’s about the beauty of who we are and embracing that and knowing that we are all authentic — that every single person is different,” she added. “But they all have something different about themselves that they need to discover.” In the song, Simpson seems to answer critics with lines like “We’re beautiful/ Our flaws and all/ They’re beautiful to me/ It’s who we are, who we are/ It’s who we’re meant to be.” Filming the show also gave Simpson the power to silence her critics and the voices in her head. “I view the world very differently,” she said. “Everything’s not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, and that’s a really great place to be in. I know there’s nothing that anybody can say about me that will take me to a very low place, because I am stronger.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Jessica Simpson Related Photos The Evolution Of: Jessica Simpson

Siobhan Magnus’ ‘Paint It Black’ Lights Up The ‘American Idol’ Stage

Randy Jackson tells the quirky singer she’s ‘bringing the drama to ‘American Idol’ season nine.’ By Larry Carroll Siobhan Magnus on “American Idol” on Tuesday Photo: Fox She looks like Marcie from “Peanuts,” embraces theatricality like Adam Lambert and sings Rolling Stones songs like she’s Mick Jagger’s long-lost daughter (which, knowing Mick’s reputation, could be a possibility). Her name is Siobhan Magnus, and her rising star shone bright on Tuesday’s (March 16) top 12 episode of “American Idol.” A resident of Barnstable, Massachusetts, Siobhan’s huge family has always encouraged her artistic endeavors. And on Tuesday night, she took them to a level as big as Mick’s lips, singing a dramatic interpretation of the Rolling Stones classic “Paint It Black.” Released in 1966 from their fourth album Aftermath, the song was written by one of the all-time great rock teams: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. A #1 hit in both the U.S. and U.K., Rolling Stone magazine ranked it #174 on their 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Interestingly enough, the song’s signature sitar riff was hatched after Stones guitarist Brian Jones visited George Harrison of the Beatles, who at the time was experimenting with Middle Eastern sounds. Sorrowful and dark but with an impossibly catchy chorus, the lyrics are believed to be about a man mourning his dead girlfriend. As such, the song has been employed in recent years as a pop-culture shortcut to signify death and mourning — from “Stir of Echoes” to “Full Metal Jacket” to “The Sopranos.” The song was also given a shout-out in the My Chemical Romance song “Welcome to the Black Parade.” Wearing an appropriately colored black dress and “bringing the drama to ‘American Idol’ season nine,” as Randy Jackson put it, Siobhan painted the stage black — and you could color the judges impressed. Bieber told MTV News that the single felt like it had just the right vibe to include on his sophomore album, a follow-up to 2009 debut, My World. Bieber helped co-write the song along with Jerry Duplessis, Arden Altino and Dan Rigo, but he had particularly high praise for someone else he worked with on the track. “I worked with August. I got him. He’s a really good writer,” Bieber said of his friend and collaborator. “The song is amazing. We really love the song, so we decided to cut it. It’s really amazing.” On the sugary-sweet, Motown-inspired track, Bieber sings, “If you need me/ I’ll come right there/ From a thousand miles away/ When you smile, I smile.” Bieber’s video for “Baby” had him bowling alongside Drake and Ludacris . So what plans does he have in store for the “U Smile” clip? Well, first he has to decide to shoot a video for it. “We haven’t shot it yet,” he said, adding that he’s not the guy to ask about any concepts that may be floating around. “I don’t know. I don’t do the visual projects. I’m just a singer.” On Tuesday afternoon, Bieber tweeted about the song’s quickly growing popularity. “Wrote this song for u guys, and now u are all helping it climb the TOP TEN of ITUNES … U SMILE is #10 already! thank u so much. Casey James Profile: Can The Sex Symbol Become ‘Idol’ Champ?

‘American Idol’ Top 12 cheat sheet looks at James’ strengths and weaknesses. By Jim Cantiello Casey James at the “American Idol” top 12 party Photo: Jesse Grant/ WireImage On Thursday night, “American Idol” revealed its Top 12 finalists for the ninth season of the hit show. MTV News “Idol” expert Jim Cantiello whipped up a handy cheat sheet for each finalist, breaking down each candidate’s journey thus far. He also got the “Idol” hopefuls to weigh in when he caught up with them at Thursday night’s Top 12 Party in Hollywood. Casey James During his audition, Casey James turned Kara DioGuardi and guest judge Victoria Beckham into slobbering schoolgirls when he happily took off his shirt at their request. And now the poor guy can’t seem to get off the casting couch! For three weeks, the conversation around Casey has been more about Kara’s crush on him than his viability as a music artist. Best Performance : Casey showed an appealing vulnerable side when he warbled Bryan Adams’ “Heaven,” which sent DioGuardi into a disruptive tizzy. To James’ credit, he was able to tone out the cougar’s giggles and get through the song without incident. Weakest Performance : Casey’s “Idol” inexperience showed when he picked Gavin DeGraw’s “I Don’t Want to Be” because it had been covered on “Idol” so often in the past. (You got that backwards, buddy.) Despite Casey’s best efforts to switch up the song with added electric guitar riffs, his performance had the authenticity of a Pat Boone heavy metal album. Tragic Backstory : When he was 21, Casey was involved in a life-threatening car crash. Doctors told him he’d never play guitar again. But Casey was determined to pick up the ax again, and now he’s able to rock out whenever he wants. ‘American Idol’ Top 12 Party Why He Will Win : Never underestimate the power of the cougar vote! And since Kara and “Idol” producers go out of their way to make references to his shirtless audition, expect those middle-aged women to continue dialing like mad. Why He Will Lose : Casey’s been coasting for three weeks. He has to step it up quickly or else Lee Dewyze will start stealing the horny housewife contingent. What He Should Sing : Simon’s already established that he doesn’t have enough “grit” to pull off bluesy rock numbers, but we think he has enough soul to make Paul Weller’s “You Do Something to Me” his “Idol” moment. On Being A Sex Symbol : “It’s not even a reality for me,” he said. “It doesn’t come into reality because I’m just the same dude I’ve always been. Casey James should be sitting at the house with his dogs chilling out right now, or at a gig.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.
