She may look like an easy target, but Margaretta Wolf, 96, turned the tables on a would-be robber at her neighborhood grocery store in Wisconsin. Looks can be deceiving, as they say. Having owned and operated her store for 54 years, she wasn’t about to cave to some armed intruder after he ordered her to open the cash register. “I said: ‘I’m not opening that register. That’s it, I’m not opening it. I said have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register,'” she said. The man in the silver mask and carrying a knife continued to give Wolf orders during the robbery attempt Monday, but she was having none of it . “He said, ‘Walk in the back of the store.’ I said, ‘I’m not walking no place, I’m standing right here,’ ” Wolf recounted, then stood her ground even as he pulled a knife. “I said, ‘I’ll press a button and I’ll have somebody here in seconds,'” she said. Wolf said the would-be robber appeared frustrated and confused, looked around, saw a security camera in the corner, then took his knife and fled. Marshfield, Wisc., Police Lt. Darren Larsen said he’s just glad Wolf is okay. “In this instance, certainly again while not recommended with what took place, we’re just very, very happy Marge was not injured,” Larsen told WAOW-TV. Wolf said she has a few words for the suspect if the cops nab him. “What do I say to him? I say I think you got some punishments coming, and it will be a little bit more than scrubbing the floor,” she told her local news. Moral of the story … don’t mess with this granny!

Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly (Left) of the old group Kris Kross founded by Jermaine Dupri was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home today and was pronounced dead at a local hospital: CNN Reports : Chris Kelly, one-half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, died Wednesday at an Atlanta hospital after being found unresponsive at his Atlanta home, the Fulton County medical examiner’s office told CNN. He was 34. An autopsy is planned for Thursday. Kelly, together with Chris Smith, shot to stardom in 1992 with the hit “Jump,” which spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. The two also were known for wearing their clothes backward during performances. The duo followed up their smash “Jump” with the single “Warm It Up.” Together, the songs pushed their debut album, “Totally Krossed Out,” to multiplatinum status. CBS Atlanta is reporting : An investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office tells CBS Atlanta’s Tony McNary that Christopher Kelly, 34, was found dead in his south Fulton County home around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. An autopsy will be performed on his body Thursday. A spokeswoman with the Fulton County Police Department said unless the medical examiner finds out something different, it appears Kelly died of a drug overdose. Busy Worker Doesn’t See Robbery According to Mail Online Surveillance cameras at a 7-Eleven not only filmed a robber holding up the store on Sunday night, but also show a shelf stacker so focused on his work that he fails to spot the heist occurring right behind his back. The assailant went into the convenience store on Knapp Street in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn at about 11:40 p.m. and walked up to the counter clerk with a case of Redbull and a roll of paper towels, police said. He is seen in the video with a gun in his right hand aimed at the clerk, who begins to take cash from the register and put it into a black bag on the counter. The worker then hands over some plastic bags for the suspect to place his stolen goods in. All the while, another store employee is behind the man with the gun restocking items on a display apparently unaware that his co-worker has a gun pointed at him and is handing over the store’s takings. The robber then leaves the store. NYPD are searching for a black male wearing a yellow/gold turban type head gear, brown jacket, blue jeans and brown sneakers.Check out the video here . My name is Helle and I live in Oslo, Norway . I attended Believe tour on April 16th and 17th, 2013 with my dear belieber friends. Our journey started on Saturday April 13th, when we tried to figure out what hotel Justin and the crew would be staying at. We had a good eye for ‘The Thief,’ and decided to stay outside there on Sunday. That night we met Justin’s stage builders, they were so chill and we guided them around town for maybe an hour. On Monday the dancers arrived in the city, and the Norwegian fans were already acting like animals. I was so annoyed by their acts so we walked away, even though we knew that was our chance to meet them. We then found out where some of the dancers private photo shoot was going to be. We were the only ones there, and when the dancers came outside their van, we just winked at them to show them some respect and not attack them. When they came out again, they came over to us to say hi. I had a good talk with Carlena and Kaili, love them! After we knew where the dancers workshop was supposed to be, so we visited the location. There weren’t any fans there yet, so the woman who worked there said that we could stay if we wanted. We basically watched Jon, Nick, Johnny and Shaun dance for hours. The coolest thing was that the Jon and Nick walked around there joking with us. I’d no idea that I could stay so calm and actually have a normal conversation with them. After the workshop we took a group photo and I stood next to Jon. Finally it was Tuesday and it was our show day. We spent 13 hours in the line waiting to get inside the arena. The show was amazing and Justin was so cute when he talked with the crowd. I felt so connected with him, like it was only me and him in the room. It was so hard knowing that he was so close, but we couldn’t meet him. After the show we walked to ‘The Thief’ since that’s the hotel we decided to go for earlier. We were the only ones there, and we waited until about 3 a.m. before Kenny Hamilton came out! He gave us a hug and a photo, but he was in a rush so we let him go. He also said, “Girls, you can go home. It’s safe to leave, I promise nothing will happen here, Justin is sleeping.” We didn’t dare to do anything other than listen on our teddy bear, and left the hotel. Then on Wednesday, it was my all time favorite day. We decided to look for the crew in the city instead of waiting in line for the show. Suddenly Kenny DM’ed us asking about my name, and said that he would leave us two meet and greet passes at the box office! As you all know, we are 4 Norwegian beliebers who were in this together. Scooter gave Sana M&G, but we still needed one more. Emma cried so much, but I was repeating that everything would work out. We wouldn’t meet Justin without her. We were so grateful and didn’t mean to complain, but we asked Kenny for one more M&G for our friend and he agreed. That moment is forever the happiest moment in my entire life, Emma and Maiken both fainted, while Sana and I just stood there hugging each other. When it was time to meet Justin I came in the room, and Justin already had two girls next to him. I was like, “Aw…” Justin looked at me and understood what I was thinking. He said, “No no no,” and took me next to him instead. I said, “Thanks,” and we both smiled. It felt so good being in his arms, he smelled so good and it was so natural. I asked him for a hug, but he was like, “Sorry girls, I’m sick, I don’t want you to get sick too.” I answered that I don’t mind, I mean who the hell cares about getting sick for Justin, but he said, “No, sorry cutie,” but then he gave me a hug anyways? The hug felt so real, it was like my life depended on it. Sana kissed him on the check, and that’s not allowed, so he moved her away and let Emma stand next to him instead. I said, That’s not swaggy though?” so he laughed and smiled to me. I honestly don’t remember that someone took the photo, but I look so happy and I’m actually blushing because he’s so flirty. When I turned around leaving I saw the biggest, cutest smile I’ve ever seen. All the other girls had left the room, so it was only me and him now. We looked each others in the eyes for some seconds and then he winked at me. I wonder how I’m still alive. He said, “I love you” but I don’t remember if I said anything back. Then I walked out and found the other girls laying on the ground crying like children. I was just so damn happy. The show on Wednesday was perfect in every single way. We really enjoyed our time together, singing along with Justin. We also saw Kenny and Scooter creeping around in the crowd, but we let them go for themselves. After the show we visited ‘The Thief’ again, and we were the only ones who saw Dan leave. We winked and he smiled and winked back. Justin also showed off shirtless in the window like 3 times, I’ll never get over that tease. After a long day, we left the hotel and went home to sleep. On Thursday we spent a lot time in the city. We went back to the hotel and saw Kenny, Scooter, Alfredo and Tay James leaving. I was like, “I’m sure they’re going to One Piece!!” and sure enough, Kenny tweeted that they were on their way to the store. We arrived at the same time as Kenny and Alfredo. The store owner said that we could stay. I walked over to Kenny and said, “I need to thank you” and he remembered me from the day before. He said, “You’re welcome, no problem, I’m glad.” Then we gave him a huge group hug, smiled and talked for some minutes. Then I smiled to Fredo, and he looked at me and asked me to come over. I took about two photos with him, he’s just so cute. On our way out, Kenny asked if we wanted more photos. I love the selfies we took, he didn’t stop posing and we laughed so much. The owner then threw everyone out because they screamed and were aggressive, but they let us stay because Kenny kept talking with us. I asked Alfredo if he knew my Twitter and he did! He honestly looked so happy and honored to meet us, I can’t believe he knew who we are. We walked out of the store together with Alfredo. He touched my shoulder and was like, “I think we need more photos!” so we took a lot selfies with him too. All the other fans outside the store stood there looking at us. We talked about the shows, Norway and he promised to say hi to Justin from us. He asked us if we had tickets for tonight’s show, and we said that we didn’t, but we had been to the other show so it was okay .I’m still so overwhelmed – this honestly means the world to me. Two gun toting thieves were no match for an 80-year-old Portuguese great grandma , armed only with some mangoes and apples: A gutsy 80-year-old great- grandma has foiled a grocery store robbery – by throwing mangoes and apples at one of the thieves. “She was amazing! If it hadn’t been for her, the guys would probably have gotten away,” said store owner Manual Nogueira, who’s her son-in-law. Pint-size Otilia Martins swung into action after two thugs entered Manual’s Continental Market in New Bedford, Mass., on July 20. One pointed a .38-caliber gun at the clerk and ordered her to open the cash register. “When the clerk screamed, my mother-in-law ran to the front of the store, and saw the guy going through the cash register,” Manual told The ENQUIRER. Without a thought for her own safety, 5-foot-tall Otilia picked up some mangoes and a bag of apples from the counter and hurled them at the robber. “They hit him on the head and chest,” said Manual. “He stopped going through the cash register and ran out from behind the counter.” But Otilia wasn’t done. She grabbed the hooligan as he fled, but he smacked her in the face with his gun, knocking off her glasses and ripping open her forehead. With blood streaming down her face, Otilia chased him and his partner, screaming at them as they ran off. Manual, 52, was outside the store about 100 feet away when he heard her screams and saw the pair running. Figuring he’d been robbed, he gave chase, and caught one of the creeps two blocks away. When cops arrived, they found the other bad guy cowering in a nearby building. Although she suffered a big gash on her forehead, Otilia, a Portuguese immigrant, refused to go to the hospital. “The paramedics thought she needed two or three stitches,” said Manual. “But she said that she’d just put some peroxide on it. She’s one tough lady.” Otilia, a widow with three children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, explained why she tried to stop the robber even though he had a gun. “I was afraid he was going to hurt the clerk,” she said. “I’m 80. I’ve lived my life. But the clerk has her whole life ahead of her. I wanted to protect her. “I looked in my pocketbook for something to throw at him, but I couldn’t find anything. Then I saw the mangoes and the apples and started throwing them. “I only wished I had something harder to hit him with, like a tire iron. Now that would have really gotten his attention.” Cops identified the pair as Eduardo Torres- Lopez, 22, and Jesse DosSantos, 32. They’re charged with armed robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a person over the age of 60. “People are calling my mother-in-law a real hero, and she is,” said Manual. “We’re all very proud of her.” Pure comedy at grandma refusing to go to the hospital — talking about “I’ll just put some peroxide on it.” Source

A Fort Pierce mother has been arrested on a child neglect charge after she left her 3-year-old son at a dollar store and returned for him more than an hour later, police said. Philleana Peak, 30, was also arrested on a marijuana possession charge Tuesday. Fort Pierce police said an employee at Deal$ Dollar Tree noticed the boy alone and crying in an aisle Tuesday night. After several attempts to search the store for his mother failed and nobody answered announcements on the public address system, police were called. More than an hour later, Peak arrived with the boy’s grandmother while police were at the store. According to the arrest report, Peak told police she thought her son was in the minivan with her when she left the store, but she couldn’t find him when she got home. “She didn’t have an explanation,” Sgt. Dennis McKenna told WPBF 25 News’ Ted White. Police said Peak couldn’t explain why it took her at least an hour to return and why she didn’t call the store or 911. “An hour appears to be a long time,” McKenna said.
