Source: Westend61 / Getty A Black father in Oklahoma City was attempting to enjoy a day out at the pool with his children earlier in the month when a white man began attacking him, prompting the father to deliver a fade . When the attacker returned with a baseball bat after getting knocked out, a second fade was promptly administered. Local outlet News 9 reports: Witnesses and police said 28-year-old Joshua Valentine targeted a black man, who was at the swimming pool to watch his kids. Police said Valentine verbally then physically attacked the victim with a closed fist. The victim, however, turned the tables on Valentine, and knocked him out. When Valentine awoke a few minutes later, he left the pool area, then returned with a baseball bat. Police and witnesses said he swung at the victim, who not only fended Valentine off with a chair, the victim then struck Valentine several times with his fist, knocking Valentine out a second time. The outlet adds that Valentine spent six days in jail on charges of malicious harassment based on race. https://KWTV.images.worldnow.com/interface/js/WNVideo.js?rnd=558086770;hostDomain=www.news9.com;playerWidth=640;playerHeight=360;isShowIcon=true;clipId=14877512;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag=News;advertisingZone=;enableAds=true;landingPage=;islandingPageoverride=;playerType=STANDARD_EMBEDDEDscript;controlsType=overlay News9.com – Oklahoma City, OK – News, Weather, Video and Sports | — Photo: Getty
Source: Fuse / Getty New Survey Says Over Half Of American Adults Use Swimming Pool In Lieu Of Shower So according to a new report, you might have some cousins out here using the swimming pool for bathing rather than for say, SWIMMING. According to CBS News , a new survey found that more than half of U.S. adults use a swimming pool as a kind of communal bathtub, admitting to swimming as a substitute for showering or rinsing off after exercise. Folks do this even though two-thirds of the people surveyed say they know that swimming pool chemicals don’t eliminate the need to shower before swimming. “When dirt, sweat, personal care products, and other things on our bodies react with chlorine, there is less chlorine available to kill germs,” Dr. Chris Wiant, chair of the Water Quality & Health Council, said. “Rinsing off for just one minute removes most of the dirt, sweat, or anything else on your body.” The report was conducted online by Sachs Media Group and they surveyed 3,100 American adults. In their study, they also found that 40% of Americans admit to peeing in the pool as an adult. Again, EVEN THOUGH experts warn that when urine reacts with chlorine, it reduces the amount of the chemical available to kill germs. “The bottom line is: Don’t pee in the pool,” said Michele Hlavsa, chief of the CDC’s Healthy Swimming program. Yes, grown adults need to be told this. “Swimming is a great way to be physically active and not peeing in the pool is a key healthy swimming step,” added Hlavsa. If you thought washing and peeing were the only nasty a$$ things people did in the people, prepare yourself. The survey also showed that a quarter of Americans said they’d go in a swimming pool within one hour of having diarrhea and 48% said they never shower before taking a dip. The CDC advises that all swimmers keep out of the pool if they have diarrhea, since this can contaminate the pool with germs and feces, which can make other people sick. Health professionals also say everyone should rinse off before dipping in the pool. Again, you wouldn’t think grown adults wouldn’t have to be told this, but here we are.
This is the kind of easily preventable dumb stuff that should never have gotten as far as it did. Burberry is publicly apologizing after one of its recent pieces of clothing caused a stir — and outrage — over the weekend. At London Fashion Week, they strutted a model out onto the runway with a noose dangling from their neck. Oh no . Content warning : this post continues numerous noose images for reference. Burberry was first called out by one of their own models, Liz Kennedy, who wrote on Instagram: “Suicide is not fashion,” Liz writes. “It is not glamorous nor edgy and since this show is dedicated to the youth expressing their voice, here I go.” “Riccardo Tisci and everyone at Burberry,” she says. “it is beyond me how you could let a look resembling a noose hanging from a neck out on the runway.” “How could anyone overlook this and think it would be okay to do this?” she asks. Liz adds: “Especially in a line dedicated to young girls and youth.” “The impressionable youth,” Liz emphasizes. “Not to mention the rising suicide rates world wide.” “Let’s not forget about the horrifying history of lynching either,” she adds. “There are hundreds of ways to tie a rope,” she notes. “And they chose to tie it like a noose completely ignoring the fact that it was hanging around a neck.” “A massive brand like Burberry who is typically considered commercial and classy should not have overlooked such an obvious resemblance,” she writes. Liz notes that she herself struggled with suicidal ideation as a teen. This was personal for her as it is for so many others. Marco Gobbetti issued a public apology. “We are deeply sorry for the distress caused by one of the products that featured in our [Autumn/Winter] 2019 runway collection Tempest,” Gobbetti writes. Notably, all images of that particular garment have been purged from the website. Tisci wrote: “I am so deeply sorry for the distress that has been caused as a result of one of the pieces in my show on Sunday.” “While the design was inspired by a nautical theme, I realize that it was insensitive,” Tisci acknowledges. “It was never my intention to upset anyone,” Tisci concludes. “I will make sure that this does not happen again.” Those experiencing suicidal depression could be hit with overpowering suicidal urges from exposure to certain images. One can think of these triggers like allergies . Harmless to most of us, but deadly to some. But, as Liz acknowledges, the noose is perhaps first and foremost evocative of lynching. Thousands of black Americans died by lynching in the United States. As you can see from the couple of sample headlines we have icnluded, the noose has become a symbol of intimidation and hate. Lynchings are a horrifying part of America's past — and the imagery persists because racism persists. The noose has been used to intimidate black people at work, on school campuses, and at their homes. We have all seen footage in which effigies of President Obama lynched were waved about during protests. No one genuinely believes that Burberry was trying to subtly intimidate or harass black audience members with their clothing line. But this kind of mistake should not still be happening in 2019. We cannot afford to be thoughtless. Short of a swastika, just about the worst symbol to wear around your neck is a noose.
Farrah Abraham loves to post on social media with her daughter. She really loves to talk about her daughter and pose her daughter in various ways and really garner as much attention as she can through her daughter. But does she actually love her daughter? Yes, Abraham says in a new interview with The Blast , giving herself a hearty pat on the back. While out celebrating little Sophia's entire birthday month (the little girl turns 10 on February 23), Abraham addressed her status as a single mother, remarked on whether this will ever change and said a lot of other stuff about parenting. Scroll down for the highlights… 1. Farrah Was Only 17 Years Old When She Gave Birth to Sophia The learning curve was steep. She was young and she had plenty to learn about herself still, let alone about how to be a parent. 2. Making Matters So Much Worse? Sophia’s father died in a car accident not long before she was born. So awful. 3. So We Have Some Sympathy for Farrah But only to a point. 4. We Can’t Excuse All of Her Actions Like how she used to leave her daughter with her parents for months at a time, justifying her actions by saying: “It’s healthy that we have a break. She has her own life and is doing her own thing, and I’m doing mine.” 5. Or How She Posed Sophia for Professional Modeling Photos Even if Sophia was all about this at the time, it’s a mother’s job to know what’s best and to say no to certain things. 6. Or How Sophia Takes Photos of Her Mom Naked Yes, the toddler snapped this picture. View Slideshow
Earlier this month, 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days star Karine Staehle flaunted her massive baby bump . In a new post, however, she warns fans to not be fooled by the size of her pregnant belly. Her baby is actually underweight. Karine shared a new photo of herself with a flower crown filter, putting her prodigious baby bump on display. Her caption is in her native Portuguese, but we have translated the words for you. “My belly is not as big as it appears in the photo,” Karine’s caption begins. So this is one of those options-on-Instagram-may-be-smaller-than-they-appear situations. That happens on Tinder, too. “The baby is underweight,” Karina informs her followers. “And,” she admits. “It looks like I eat a lot.” Here is the photo. That looks like a huge pregnant belly … though we should of course remember the scale of things. Karine is a tiny, tiny woman. A “large” baby bump on her would look considerably smaller on a more statuesque woman. She also notes that she is only 35 weeks into her pregnancy. So her baby probably has over a month to grow to a healthy weight before she gives birth. When those five weeks are up, Paul and Karine are expecting a baby boy. They have already picked out a name for this little one: Pierre. After the couple’s two miscarriages, Pierre will be their little rainbow baby. Paul and Karine have come a long, long way since fans first saw them on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days . Some of their biggest obstacles have been their own differences. After a long-distance courtship, Kentucky native Paul came to meet Karine in Brazil. Paul did not speak Portuguese. Karine did not speak English. They relied upon translator apps. There were more than just communication issues. Paul had some insecurities and displayed quirky behaviors, including that one time he slipped on a condom under his trunks before going for a swim. (Yes, candiru asu are real, but no, you do not need to wear a condom under your swimming trunks to keep one from tunneling up your dong) More seriously, he was found to have an alarming criminal record including arson. But Paul and Karine tied the knot on the second season of the 90 Day Fiance spin-off. Though they continued to fight, they settled into their relationship and marriage. Two miscarriages, back-to-back, was difficult for them. That would put a strain on any couple. Paul shared that the first miscarriage happened almost too quickly for them to notice. The second, however, put them in mourning. But with this rainbow baby on the way, they’re verye xcited to make this journey into parenthood together. Hopefully, Paul and Karine are prepared to be the best possible parents for baby Pierre. We’re rooting for some final fetal development over the next five weeks. Underweight babies can sometimes experience health complications. We want Pierre to have the best start in life that his parents can give him. But with five weeks to go, there’s probably no reason to worry. Different babies develop at different rates. View Slideshow: 90 Day Fiance Couples: Are They Still Together?

It’s been a rough few weeks for the swimming world’s most lovable dumbass, Ryan Lochte. Shortly after he was caught lying about being robbed at gunpoint at the Rio Olympics , Lochte made an unexpected career choice that’s done little to help mend his battered reputation. When rumors first began to circulate that Lochte would join the cast of Dancing With the Stars for the show’s 23rd season, many took it as a joke. Then the cast was officially announced, and Lochte confirmed that yet again, what seemed to ridiculous to be true was in fact a serious life decision that he made, presumably after careful consideration. Now, Lochte is proving his critics right and demonstrating that like the Little Mermaid and so many millions of hooked fish before him, Ryan was really better off in the water. On his very first episode, Lochte was rushed by protesters , who are now facing jail time. That’s hardly Lochte’s fault, but it’s the kind of idiocy you invite when you decide to weather the storm of an international scandal by doing competitive cha-cha’s on ABC. Anyway, it turns out Lochte is only slightly better at dancing than he is at lying his way out of tight spots. On tonight’s elimination show, he and Cheryl Burke are on the chopping block along with several other couples who all failed to earn immunity during last night’s competition . Marilu Henner and Derek Hough, Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Allison Holker, or Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber could all be sent packing. Of course, a bad attitude is often a deal-breaker on DWTS and thus far, two stars have allegedly been caught speaking ill about their show and their experiences in the race for the Mirrored Ball. Last week, sources claimed that Amber Rose griped that the show is “rigged.” Now, it seems Lochte is echoing her complaint . According to Radar Online, the Olympian is not happy about facing elimination, and he feels that the judges knew he would never win the competition before he ever set foot on the floor. “Ryan and Cheryl are pretty sure that they are going to be eliminated tonight,” a source tells the website. “Ryan was actually telling people that he thought the show was rigged and that everyone was out to sabotage him.” The 32-year-old also took issue with last night’s unorthodox head-to-head format: “He also said that it was unfair of them to put him and Cheryl up against James Hinchcliffe and his partner Sharna Burgess, because he said that they are both ‘really strong dancers.’” The insider adds that Lochte was visibly upset after Hinchcliffe and Burgess emerged victorious: “After they lost last night, Ryan was not even trying to hide his emotions,” the source says. “He was super upset and Cheryl was trying to console him, but he was not having any of it.” So could Lochte be facing yet another public humiliation? View Slideshow: 16 Things Ryan Lochte Definitely Would Do Based on these rumors, we’d have to answer that question with a resounding, “Jeah!” Watch Dancing With the Stars online at TV Fanatic to get caught up in time for tonight’s results show.
Well these colored folk sure have come a long way from the slave days…haven’t they, running the music scene, running the pop culture, running Olympic Gymnastics and Swimming, and even acting in movies and not as the token…setting trends in fashion and art…but one could argue, they are still just slaving for the white man, and people could argue that the white man just uses them to shut people up…and this is all part of the white agenda to whitewash America…and pretend that Black Lives Don’t matter…but they aren’t racist because they gave Justine Skye a shitty record deal…because I’ve never heard of her…or they’ve let Jay Z and Beyonce exploit themselves and their craft for money…to the point of singing about money…pretty trashy… Now I don’t know who Justine Skye is, but she’s in a bikini for W Magazine, and I think we can all agree that we are all one color, the human color, and all you racists need to start having sex with those races you hate, because I’m sure after white Sally from the south gets her pussy pounded inside out – or Herb the Hick gets ridden by a black goddess like she was doing a tribal fucking voodoo dance…he’d be less about shooting her the second the government gave him permission to…and more into shooting loads inside her and making babies…they are a fertile people…just go to Walmart… I find it so ridiculous how we’re still having race issues in America, while every single white kid wants to act like a hip hop gangster, you’d think that’d carry the nation – but divide and conquer or something.. At around 9:00 p.m. ET, a Nebraska couple watch their two-year-old son wade in the shallows of Walt Disney World’s Seven Seas Lagoon at the Grand Floridian Hotel. All of a sudden, the boy was snatched up by an alligator and dragged into the water. “The father entered the water, and he tried to grab the child, but was not successful in doing so,” Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings told reporters during a press conference today. The mother also went into the water to try and save her son. The couple, who brought their 4-year-old daughter on the trip, alerted a nearby lifeguard who then called 911. The father suffered only scratches while trying to remove the boy from the alligator’s jaw. “They [alligators] were probably attracted to some motion on the bank,” executive director of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Nick Wiley explained, according to USA Today . “That’s the way they stalk their prey.” Wiley added that the alligator could have mistaken the child for prey, as the reptile was likely feeding. The lake is being searched by wildlife specialists, divers and a trained alligator trapper. Four alligators have been removed, but no traces of the child were found. Demings told reporters this morning that this was still considered a “search and rescue operation,” adding that he and all though involved in looking for the boy were “very hopeful. “Sometimes you get the worst, but we are hoping for the best,” he said. As the search continued, Demings changed his tune. The sad reality of it is it’s been several hours, and we’re not likely going to recover a live body,” he said, according to CNN . No Swimming signs are posted to all beach areas of the land-locked resort, which has never had an accident like this.
