Kathy Griffin Emotionally ‘Raw’ Over Levi Johnston Engagement

‘I’m very raw about my feelings of being dumped,’ Griffin said about Johnston’s re-engagement to Bristol Palin. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Kathy Griffin Photo: MTV News Just last summer, Kathy Griffin and Levi Johnston hit the town together at the Teen Choice Awards. The duo were all smiles as they walked down the carpet arm in arm. Cut to one year later and Johnston has left the comedienne heartbroken with the news that he’s re-engaged to former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol Palin . Suffice to say, Griffin isn’t holding up too well. “You’re talking to me at a very emotionally difficult time because my lover, who I thought was my fiance, Levi Johnston, dumped me,” she joked at the 2010 VH1 Do Something Awards in L.A. Of course, Griffin is managing to smile through the pain. She made a video spoofing how she handled the news of Johnston’s engagement. In it, with Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” playing in the background, Griffin tears apart his Playgirl spread and teases that she may soon set her sights on Taylor Lautner, thanks to his dreamy GQ cover. “And I’ve done a YouTube about it and I’m very raw about my feelings of being dumped,” she said. “And I think any woman or gay man worth his salt will identify with my raw pain that is very, very serious.” So, Griffin is hoping that fans will stand by her in her pain now that she’s got a bunch of projects on the horizon. “It’s weird because through the pain, you also see me promoting my show, my Twitter, my books,” she teased. Recently Johnston and Palin spoke to US Weekly about their engagement, explaining that they reconnected three months ago while working on a custody plan for their son Tripp and unexpectedly rekindled their romance. “I really thought we were over,” Johnston said. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk.” What do you think of Griffin’s video about Johnston? Tell us in the comments! Taylor Lautner Should Play Teen Wolverine, Hugh Jackman Says

But ‘can he grow mutton chops?’ the ‘X-Men’ star wonders about the typically hairless ‘Eclipse’ star. By Mawuse Ziegbe Taylor Lautner Photo: Jim Spellman/ WireImage Taylor Lautner already plays one of the most recognizable onscreen characters as werewolf Jacob Black in the teen hysteria-inducing “Twilight” flicks. But another star thinks Lautner should put his ripped physique to good use in another role. “Wolverine” star Hugh Jackman says Lautner could convincingly don a pair of claws as a teen Wolverine in next year’s “X-Men: First Class.” “My only question is: Can he grow mutton chops?” Jackman wondered to Eonline.com’s Marc Malkin . But then, remembering the droves of girls around the world enamored with the considerably less hirsute Jacob, Jackman reconsidered the idea of a woolly Lautner. “Actually, I think people would probably prefer him as a hairless Wolverine than a rather hairy-chested version. Certainly about a billion young girls would,” Jackman observed. Although he’s got a co-sign from the star of the “Wolverine” franchise, Lautner’s not pressed for work. The young heartthrob has some other flicks lined up, including the thriller “Abduction,” which recently started production and stars Lautner as a teen who gets entangled in a web of espionage after seeking out his birth parents. And while he might not be shredding foes as Wolverine anytime soon, the “Twilight” hunk is also slated for a superhero flick in the title role of the upcoming “Stretch Armstrong.” Lautner hasn’t mentioned sprouting heaps of hair for a film, but he has expressed his willingness to transform physically, even abandoning his muscular bod, for the right part. “If it was for a role that I was passionate about, I would definitely do that,” Lautner told MTV News last month. “I want to challenge myself to everything,” he added, noting that he’s open to sinking his teeth into a range of flicks. “I’ve got a really cool action thriller [in ‘Abduction’] and then an awesome superhero movie [in ‘Stretch Armstrong’], but I want to find a great drama script.” Should Taylor consider a part in the next “X-Men” flick? ‘Breaking Dawn’ In 3-D Will Be ‘A Creative Decision’

‘A big factor is the perception of our audience,’ Summit’s Richard Fay tells MTV News of adopting the technology. By Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Han Myung-Gu/ WireImage Summit Entertainment understands the importance of 3-D. Still, there continues to be rampant speculation about whether “Breaking Dawn,” will open as a 3-D release when the first of a two-part finale arrives in theaters next year. But now, another movie on the studio’s lineup may provide some clues about where Summit will take the “Twilight Saga.” “They’re completely fascinated and intrigued by the technology,” said director Patrick Lussier, who recently wrapped production on Summit’s 3-D action flick “Drive Angry.” “I think Summit has been discovering, as they’ve been seeing the 3-D material and the ease we’ve been able to work with it, is that it’s an incredibly viable format to work in.” So will Summit’s “Drive Angry” experience — the movie was shot using 3-D cameras rather than converted in post-production — combined with the fate of “Eclipse” at the box office , convince them to deliver their biggest 2011 release in three dimensions? “That decision has yet to be made,” Summit distribution head Richard Fay told MTV News. “It’s still the source of a discussion.” While those talks inevitably touch on technological hurdles and monetary interest — owing to the premium-ticket prices that 3-D flicks command — Fay emphasized that the studio is more focused on creative concerns. “There’s certainly a financial part of the discussion,” he said. “And yes, there’s a certain amount of technology that has to be considered and accounted for. But it really comes down to the creative folks.” “In any of these roundtables conversations, [Summit CEO] Rob Friedman has always been concerned about the ‘Twilight’ patron,” Fay added. “His concern is always the people that come in to see this movie. He doesn’t want to turn them off or offend. That’s why it’s a creative decision. A big factor is the perception of our audience. What are their feelings going to be? If it lends itself to being a better movie because of 3-D, then that’s the technology we’ll use.” What are your thoughts on “Breaking Dawn” in 3-D? Tell us your thoughts in the comments! What Do ‘Eclipse’ Stars Have Lined Up Before ‘Breaking Dawn’?

We have all the dirt on the ‘Twilight Saga’ cast’s downtime — or lack thereof. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage With their major promotional duties over, and the record-breaking “Eclipse” in no need of any more star power, it stands to reason that the film’s castmembers should be getting ready for some well-deserved rest and relaxation before heading back to work on “Breaking Dawn” in the fall. That’s not the case, however, as many of the popular young actors are very much in demand for film studios and audiences alike at the moment. Here’s a look at what the “Eclipse”ters are up to in their “Twilight” downtime. Taylor Lautner Taylor Lautner is in Pittsburgh filming “Abduction,” alongside Sigourney Weaver and Lily Collins, directed by John Singleton. “It’s a very real action-thriller,” Lautner told MTV News at the “Eclipse” premiere in L.A. “[It has a] great story, great cast and I start in, like, three days.” Robert Pattinson Robert Pattinson has been shooting the book-to-screen adaptation “Water for Elephants,” in which he plays a college dropout who becomes an animal caretaker for a traveling circus in the 1930s. Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz co-star. In addition to cutting his famous shaggy locks for the role, Pattinson told MTV News he’s picked up some coordination during filming. “I’ve become a little less mal-coordinated in the last couple years,” he said. “[The film has] quite a few active bits. I’m pulling around horses and stuff, and I was like, ‘When have I suddenly become capable?’ ” Kristen Stewart Kristen Stewart will be busy with “On the Road,” co-starring “Tron: Legacy” star Garret Hedlund. Stewart recently told MTV News that she’s excited to work with Hedlund. “I’ve met him a bunch of times and hung out with him twice. He’s a great guy,” she said. “He’s written crazy stuff for it. He’s so in character right now. He’s driving to Montreal [for filming]. He’s awesome. I’m really excited.” Anna Kendrick Acclaimed “Up in the Air” star Anna Kendrick (a.k.a. Jessica) next appears in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and an untitled Seth Rogen comedy, but a role Kendrick is dying for is a part in the upcoming “Hobbit,” which she revealed to MTV News at the “Eclipse” premiere. “Believe me, I spend many nights wondering that,” Kendrick said when asked if there might be a role in the upcoming Tolkien adaptation. “This is officially my feeler!” Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz Other busy bees include Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz. Greene will appear in “Apparition” opposite Sebastian Stan and Tom Felton, recently wrapped “Butter” with Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman, and also has the action/sport film “Warrior” on her slate, opposite her “Twilight” sibling. Lutz, in addition to “Warrior,” is off kicking butt in Tarsem Singh’s Greek gods-centric epic “Immortals,” opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Freida Pinto, Isabel Lucas and Mickey Rourke. Taylor Lautner Talks Werewolf Vs. Vampire Fights On ‘Letterman’

‘It’d be a tough call. [Werewolves are] very strong. We are very fast,’ Lautner said on ‘Late Show With David Letterman.’ By Eric Ditzian Taylor Lautner on “The Late Show with David Letterman” Thursday Photo: CBS “Eclipse” has been tearing up the multiplex for days, but that doesn’t mean the vampire film’s stars get a break from their appearance-a-minute publicity duties. Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Xavier Samuel have already jetted across the pond for the London premiere , and the cast is expected to pop up at random surprise appearances across the U.S. throughout the weekend. Lucky for Taylor Lautner, then, that the “Late Show With David Letterman” actually tapes in the afternoon, so perhaps the 18-year-old was able to get a decent night’s sleep before the hectic weekend schedule shifts into gear. Wearing a fitted gray suit, Lautner chatted with the talk-show host about his persistent onscreen shirtlessness, who would win in a fight between a vampire and a werewolf, and how he got started in the business. About that last topic of conversation, thank the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. “[My karate instructor] was actually the blue Power Ranger for a year,” Lautner laughed. The Ranger-turned-teacher encouraged Lautner to start auditioning, which led to a few commercials and then the decision to move the entire Lautner family from Michigan to Los Angeles when he was 11. He soon landed a starring role in “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.” And now, of course, he’s the proudly shirtless Jacob in the “Twilight” movies. But when Dave wanted to know if Jacob could take down Edward Cullen in a fight, Lautner wouldn’t take the bait. “It’d be a tough call,” he said. “[Werewolves are] very strong. We are very fast. We work as a pack. That’s kind of our thing.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Kellan Lutz Says ‘Eclipse’ Has ‘A Great Mix Of Romance And Action’

‘It’s great when Emmett’s in there, and he’s there to fight,’ Lutz tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Kellan Lutz definitely has the build to pull off the most intense action scenes in “Eclipse,” and the actor knows that the third “Twilight Saga” flick is Emmett Cullen’s time to shine. “I just love doing my own stunts,” he told MTV News. “I love stunt work. It sucks that I can’t rewrite the books and add more dialogue for Emmett, because I really do have more action scenes than dialogue. So it’s great when ‘Eclipse’ came around, ’cause I do love the book the best, and I think it just had such a great mix of the romance and the action and the collaboration of the two. “I love to work, so it’s great when Emmett’s in there, and he’s there to fight,” he added. “So I really just loved doing stunts.” When ideas were brewing about how to make the stunts happen in “Eclipse,” Lutz was the go-to guy for experimentation. “The producers know I like doing the stunts so much, to the point where they make me the guinea pig,” he laughed. “So we were doing this treadmill running sequence, so you’re wearing these contacts and you’re breathing in exhaust from the truck, and it’s cold as hell up there, and you’re trying to run and not pant, ’cause I’m a vampire.” The cast has been quite vocal about upping the action ante in “Eclipse.” Taylor Lautner recently revealed that it’s the most “guy-friendly” of the “Twilight” flicks. “It’s my favorite, because it’s the most guy-friendly by far,” Lautner explained. “It’s dangerous. There’s a lot of action. The romance is still there, but the action level is stepped up way more. It’s great.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Eclipse Review: The Best Twilight Film Yet!

While The Twilight Saga may boast an impressive, deep cast, let’s face it: this franchise is all about its three main stars. For that reason, New Moon fell a bit flat, as Robert Pattinson scarcely appeared as Edward and we were left with too much of Bella sitting around and simply pondering her life. Granted, Taylor Lautner took his shirt off a lot, but here’s the great news about Eclipse : Jacob is once again topless most of the time – but he isn’t the only one heating up the screen. Having been treated to a screening of Eclipse , we can confirm: it’s by far the most action-packed of all three Twilight films, and it’s also the best. Here’s why: Bella’s internal conflict has external consequences . Jacob or Edward? Edward or Jacob? This love triangle is at the forefront of the film, but it’s placed against the backdrop of a centuries-old feud between werewolves and vampires. This is far more than typical teenage angst; this is Bella needing to make a decision, the ramifications of which will impact all the lives around her. When Jacob and Edward agree to an alliance in order to protect the girl they love, even men in the audience might stand up and cheer. It’s exciting, selfless stuff. The movie has a sense of humor . Early on, Edward says of Jacob: “Doesn’t he own a shirt?” It’s a cute, light-hearted wink at the audience and the pop culture phenomenon the franchise has become. Jacob vs. Edward . Choosing a Team in this rivalry is a necessity for all fans, and Eclipse sets up more of a dichotomy than ever before. At one point, Bella complains that Edward won’t “unzip before marriage.” Meanwhile, Jacob simply oozes sweat and sex appeal. The former is old school, the latter… well, he’s ready to pounce. These differences make Bella’s dilemma all the more stark, which makes it that much more interesting to watch. The tent scene . Trust us. The flashbacks . Through a series of character flashbacks, we learn how multiple Cullens earned their fangs. Jasper’s tale of being a Confederate Major is especially gripping. Great special effects . The movie climaxes with a showdown between wolves and vampires (and one human, of course) that may not be at the level of Avatar , but it makes tremendous use of CGI. Overall, the action is on par with many summer popcorn flicks. In the end, it’s easy to understand why the Twilight Saga appeals to teenage girls everywhere: two gorgeous guys aren’t just in love with Bella, they are willing to do absolutely anything for her. It’s the stuff we all dream about. But Eclipse adds action, adventure and history to that simple storyline. It combines the best elements of the first two films and we strongly recommend it to all readers.
