Breaking News! The Lakers Tell Head Coach Mike Brown To Kick Rocks In Flip-Flops After 1-4 Start!

Don’t let the do’ knob hit ya where the good Lord split ya According to ESPN Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has been fired after a 1-4 start to the season, a source tells ESPNLosAngeles.com’s Ramona Shelburne. It is not known yet who will take over for him, but a source indicated to Shelburne that one of assistant coaches Bernie Bickerstaff or Chuck Person will take over on an interim basis. Earlier Friday, sources had told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein that the team was using its upcoming six-game homestand to evaluate Brown, but after numerous discussions over the past 48 hours, Lakers management came to a unanimous decision that the team wasn’t heading in the right direction. The Lakers have had a healthy Steve Nash in the lineup for only 1½ of their five games so far thanks to a leg injury, while fellow newcomer Dwight Howard has acknowledged that he’s still recovering from the back surgery that brought a premature end to his 2011-12 campaign and knocked him out of the London Olympics. Kobe Bryant has also been playing through a foot ailment. The Lakers are off to the worst start in the Western Conference despite carrying the league’s largest payroll at just over $100 million, which would trigger an estimated luxury-tax bill at season’s end of nearly $30 million. Welp, that didn’t take long. Based on the look on Kobe’s face the other night, he’s not gonna miss him too much. Image via Wally Skalij /Los Angeles Times

Charles Tillman, Chicago Bears Cornerback, Rips Teacher Over Disrespectful Math Question

Chicago Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman did not take kindly to learning that a Windy City-area girl’s teacher was disrespecting his team in a math problem. Tillman was recently supporting his Cornerstone Foundation at a sporting goods store. He received an autograph request from the daughter of the store’s owner. The teenager was doing her math homework at the time, and showed him one of the problems given to her by her teacher, John Amrein of Round Lake Middle School. The problem did not sit well with Tillman. “The Packers play the Bears 4 times in two seasons. The Packers, being a much better team, have an 80% chance of winning each game,” the question read. Ouch. Given that assumption, “What is the probability that the Bears win all four games? What is the probability that the Bears win at least one game?” Tillman did give the autograph to the girl, but he also wrote a note to the teacher in question, calling him out for bashing the team. He wrote: Mr. Armein, This is Charles “Peanut” Tillman of the Chicago Bears and I’m shocked that you would have a problem like this for your students. The probability that the Bears would win in my opinion is 100%. Please do not and I repeat DO NOT send them home with math homework that is disrespectful to our team, city and our beloved Chicago Bears. Your All Pro Corner Charles “Peanut” Tillman 33 Geaux Bears P.S. Bear Down NOTE : The Packers have won seven of their last 10 vs. the Bears, including the last four in a row, so Mr. Amrein does have a point from an empirical standpoint.

Annina Ucatis Is A Huge Fan

In case you haven’t been paying attention to what’s going on over there in Europe, I’m not talking about the economy crap, there’s a soccer tournament going on. And what better way to support your team than by bringing out your massive fake breasts. Here’s some chick named Annina Ucatis showing off her team colors. I don’t know who the hell she is, but I can tell that she’s a HUGE fan of Germany. I would like to scissor kid those things… With my face.

Jay-Z Used Old Subway Signs For New Brooklyn Nets Logo

Black-and-white crest is ‘a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about,’ Jay tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Brooklyn Nets’ logo Photo: NBA Jay-Z once fancied himself the black Branch Rickey, the man who broke the athletic color barrier and signed Jackie Robinson to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Sure, Hov used poetic license when he spit the line on 2009’s “Brooklyn Go Hard,” but now that Mr. Carter is part of the brain trust that will transplant the NBA’s Nets to his native BK, the God MC has surely changed the game. At the end of April, the Brooklyn Nets unveiled their new logo, a Jigga-approved black-and-white crest, which bucks the flash and pizzazz typical of most NBA logos these days. “I wanted to make it really classic and strong; a throwback to Brooklyn and what we’re about,” Jay told MTV News on Monday after his press conference where he announced his upcoming two-day Made in America music festival in Philadelphia. Since his 1996 debut album ( Reasonable Doubt ) Jay has stood as an ambassador for New York City’s largest borough. Though the music mogul has gone on to acquire life’s finer things, through songs like “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “Where I’m From” and his #1 hit “Empire State of Mind,” Hova has always rapped about the darker side of his hometown as well. The struggle eventually breeds strength and it was the strength that Jay hoped to capture in the new Nets design. “It’s real gritty and we’re not about flash — well, sometimes,” he said with a brief pause. “Just the roots of Brooklyn as this very bold, strong, simple logo” When the NBA’s Seattle Sonics franchise moved to Oklahoma in 2008, the team was rechristened the Oklahoma City Thunder and was branded with a new color-filled logo fit for post-millennium basketball. With this new Nets move, Jay-Z and Nets brass looked to the past in order to ensure the team’s place in the future. Vintage New York transit system signage served as their chief inspiration. “It was really a take off the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white. It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white,” Jay said. “I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever.” What do you think of the new Brooklyn Nets logo?
