Will Smith’s Reasons To See ‘MIB 3’: Alien Chickens And His Ears In 3-D

‘It’s the first time it’s in 3-D — my ears are in 3-D for the first time,’ Smith tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Will Smith in “Men in Black 3” Photo: Columbia Pictures If you are a fan of “Men in Black” and “Men in Black 2,” then you should definitely plan on seeing the franchise’s third film, “Men in Black 3” when it hits theaters this weekend. Not only are our favorite suited-up agents J and K up to their old tricks, witty banter and all, but their third outing features an appropriately science-fiction-y element of time travel that introduces us to a young Agent K, expertly played by Josh Brolin . If those plot points don’t have you ready to buy tickets, take it from the series’ star Will Smith himself, who says you won’t want to miss seeing his ears in 3-D. “The fun of [this film] is trying to make it new but not so new that it don’t match,” Smith told MTV News recently. “We had to be able to create something that was brand-new, that stands on its own, and it’s been 10 years since the first movie, so there were a lot of things working against it. But it’s the first time it’s in 3-D — my ears are in 3-D for the first time,” he said with a laugh. “I’m very happy with it.” Smith went on to tell a story about another part of the film that made him happy: watching an alien chicken trip and fall. “With these types of movies, the set tends to take on the tone of the movie, the amount of silliness and things. You just see the most bizarre things on movies like this,” he said. “I saw a 7-foot-tall chicken trip and fall. You would never see that anywhere in the world! There was a chicken alien and she had these foot-and-a-half heels on so she was 7-foot-tall in a chicken outfit, and she trips and falls. I just thought that was fantastic.” Bring up the “favorite moments during filming” subject with director Barry Sonnenfeld and he’ll tell you a tale of his star’s acting skills being a bit rusty at the start of production. “On the first day of photography, we filmed Will on a blue-screen stage having to jump down [from the top of the Chrysler building], and what was great about it was that he hadn’t acted in three years and was really bad,” Sonnenfeld recalled. “Luckily, we cut out the bad stuff, but that first take we did after he hadn’t acted in three years, I was sweating because he was no good. After I yelled, ‘Cut!’ Will said, ‘Baz, I can do better! I’m really rusty!’ And within a day or two, it all worked out fine. But man, it was interesting. You know how they say ‘Once you learn how to ride a bicycle, you never forget?’ Well, Will forgot how to act for the first day or two. Luckily he wasn’t acting with other actors or it would have been really embarrassing.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Men in Black 3.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . My name is Amber. I’m 21 years old, and I’m a Belieber. I FINALLY met Justin on May 3rd, 2012. It was at a MTV event for 18+ (aka “Legal Beliebers”). Now, I need to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to my girl Shelby (@shelbaybayluvjb) for getting me in! I am forever grateful for her. The event was awesome. MTV was nice enough to give us sandwiches and cookies beforehand. We hung out for a bit then, it was show time. When Justin walked in, I was the first person he hugged. He came right up to me and hugged me. It was amazing! He announced that he would be releasing a song he wrote for his mom around Mothers Day. He was very relaxed and funny. Even carried some conversations with some fans. Afterwards, we asked for pictures and he was happy to meet/take a picture with EVERY belieber there. I believe he was even a bit late to the studio that night for that. But that’s Justin for you. Always giving back to the fans and supporting us like we do him. Thank you, Justin! Can’t wait for the BELIEVE TOUR and more experiences for everyone! -@ AlwaysAmber13 Link: My name is Amber. I’m 21 years old, and I’m a…

Far East Movement Drop ‘Unexpected’ Track With Tokio Hotel’s Bill Kaulitz

‘If I Die Tomorrow,’ off FM’s May 22 release, Dirty Bass, is ‘a song about losing yourself.’ By Jocelyn Vena Far East Movement Photo: MTV News Ever wondered what it would sound like if the Far East Movement enlisted Tokio Hotel ‘s glammy, gothy lead singer Bill Kaulitz for a track? Well, wonder no more, because now we have “If I Die Tomorrow.” The collaboration, which dropped Friday (May 18), leans more on FM’s love for partying than Kaulitz’s love for rocking. While FM rap all about bumping trunks, killing bottles and going crazy in the club, Kaulitz, in full auto-tuned, falsetto mode, proclaims, “If I die tomorrow, that means we had the night of our lives/ If tomorrow never comes, then tonight we lose control.” “If I Die Tomorrow” is off FM’s new album, Dirty Bass, out May 22. When MTV News caught up with Far East Movement recently, Kev Nish told us that fans will see plenty of “unexpected collaborations” like this on the upcoming album. “When we first signed to Cherrytree [Records], we went on the website and see who’s on the roster … and we saw Tokio Hotel, and we were like ‘Yo, this band is wild,’ ” Nish said of working with the Musical March Madness winner and Tokio Hotel’s leading man. “We were on a bus watching them on the MTV Europe Awards, winning, and we were like, ‘We need to do a song with those dudes.’ “So we got in with Bill Kaulitz and we just wanted to do a song about losing yourself, about possibly losing your mind, because you might die the next day,” he added. The album also features Justin Bieber on the song “Live My Life.” The same day the album drops, the group also kicks off their tour with the kings of party rocking, LMFAO . Obama Should Have ‘Gone Further’ On Same-Sex Marriage, Howard Stern Says

‘America’s Got Talent’ judge says Obama’s support is ‘a good first step.’ By John Mitchell Howard Stern Photo: MTV News During a press conference about his new “America’s Got Talent” judging gig , Howard Stern turned his attention to a topic that has long been close to his heart: same-sex marriage. While he sometimes makes jokes about gays and lesbians on his radio show, Stern is a well-known and vocal LGBT advocate and believes in gay marriage, so it was only natural that he address President Barack Obama’s recent support on the matter. “My feelings are very clear on this,” he told reporters Thursday (May 10). “I wish the president actually had gone further. I wish he had said he was going to back some legislation on the national level.” On Wednesday, President Obama said he believed same-sex couples should be allowed to marry during an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts. While Stern said it seemed like a “political maneuver” for Obama to wait until three and a half years into his presidency — and six months ahead of the election — to publicly voice his support for gay marriage, he called Obama’s declaration “a good first step, it’s a baby step.” “I would like the president to get behind this and really push it,” Stern continued. “There’s just too many people being bullied, too many people’s lives being wrecked. This is something that is long overdue.” Stern reserved his harshest words for former Republican presidential contenders Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann, admonishing both for the negative impact their rhetoric has on LGBT youth and saying their vocal opposition to gay rights is not in alignment with their supposed Christian values. “These nutbags like Santorum and Bachmann, who make these people, and especially young gay kids, feel miserable, shame on them. They’re quacks. I would never vote for them, I wouldn’t even listen to them,” Stern said. “They call themselves Christians. If you’re a Christian, you don’t sit there and worry about what somebody else is doing if they are happy and they’re committed in a relationship. So this is wonderful news that the president has said it, long overdue, and I think he’s got to do a lot more.”

Beastie Boys Fans Travis Porter Pay Tribute With Tour

DMC and Biz Markie also weigh in on life and legacy of the late Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch during ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway The Beastie Boys in the mid 1980s Photo: Getty Images None of the members of Travis Porter were even born when the Beastie Boys released hip-hop’s first #1 album in 1986, but the seminal rap trio influenced the new-age party animals all the same. In fact, Travis Porter have been planning to pay homage to the Beasties for some time now: They originally wanted to title their debut album No Sleep Till Atlanta in reference to the BB classic “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.” “A lot of people compare us to the Beastie Boys in some type of way,” Travis Porter’s Ali told “RapFix Live” on Wednesday when he and his group appeared on the show. “Just because the hip-hop and the music and the fun,” Quez added. When you consider TP’s electric club jams like “Make It Rain,” “You Don’t Know Bout it” and “Ayy Ladies,” then the Beasties comparison makes sense. In their early days, Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA — who died following his struggle with cancer on Friday, were the ultimate party starters, and Travis Porter look to carry on that tradition. Ultimately, TP decided to name their upcoming May 29 debut From Day 1, but they still plan to honor the Beasties. “We named our tour No Sleep Till Atlanta though, still,” Ali said of their upcoming summer run, which will support the LP. DMC, a member of the iconic rap group Run-DMC , also appeared on “RapFix” and reacted to Yauch’s death and the Beastie Boys’ legacy. During the 1980s, Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys toured together and became fast friends. “The first thing that came to my mind was like, man, another one of us, it’s crazy. Adam Yauch is a member of one of the greatest groups ever in hip-hop, rock and roll history and music period,” he said. “He will be forever remembered as one of the greatest voices in hip-hop.” MTV News also spoke with Biz Markie on Friday about Yauch’s legacy. “He was in a class by himself. All three of them was in a class by themselves,” the iconic rapper/DJ said. “They were different, but he was a cool one and he was just different. He was from a different cloth, he had a different aura about him. He was just super cool.” Related Videos Adam Yauch: Remembering A Beastie Boy Travis Porter And Scarface Mix It Up On ‘RapFix Live’ Related Photos The Beastie Boys’ Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch: A Life In Photos Related Artists Beastie Boys Travis Porter
