Lindsay Lohan Due In Court For Probation Violation

Actress reportedly tested positive for alcohol and faces possible jail time. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images Just weeks from completing her home detention sentence, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is due in a Los Angeles court on Thursday (June 23) after allegedly violating her probation by testing positive for alcohol. According to TMZ , the 24-year-old actress tested positive for alcohol earlier this month and could be facing additional jail time if the probation department has its way. The gossip site reported that Lohan was tested twice last week for drugs and alcohol and that unnamed sources said she tested positive for alcohol on one of the tests and negative on another; both were reportedly negative for drugs. One of the tests is reported to have taken place after a rooftop barbecue party Lohan had at her condo for friends on June 12. In April, Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace but was allowed to serve a reduced 35-day term at her Venice, California, condo. She was under strict home-confinement rules and wore an electronic monitoring device. TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Probation Department will ask the judge in the case to pull Lohan from house arrest and send her directly to Los Angeles County jail. Lohan’s attorney could not be reached for comment at press time. Lohan was specifically told by the judge in her 2007 DUI case that she was not allowed to consume any alcohol while on probation. As part of her plea deal in the necklace case, Lohan was also sentenced to perform 480 hours of community service, but was ordered not to perform that work until she completed her house arrest. She was also sentenced to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course. Ryan Dunn’s Family, ‘Jackass’ Friends Hold Private Memorial Service

Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville and two ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ stars attended Wednesday’s service. By Mary J. DiMeglio Johnny Knoxville with Ryan Dunn’s family and friends at Dunn’s memorial service in West Chester, PA, on Wednesday Photo: Amy Dragoo/ AP Images WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania — Hundreds of Ryan Dunn’s friends and family members flooded a suburban Philadelphia funeral home Wednesday for a private memorial service to honor the “Jackass” star, who was killed in a fiery car crash early Monday morning. Described as “a celebration of Dunn’s life,” the service in West Chester, Pennsylvania, lasted more than four hours. The daredevil’s famous friends who gathered included best friend and “Jackass” cohort Bam Margera — who attended with his wife, Missy, and parents, Phil and April Margera — Johnny Knoxville and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” actors Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney. The Kings of Leon, who became close with Dunn last year, also paid tribute to the star Wednesday night during their show in London’s Hyde Park. Frontman Caleb Followill asked the audience to toast “a friend of ours who’s passed away,” adding, “This is for Ryan,” before playing “McFearless,” from 2007’s Because of the Times. Earlier in the week, bassist Jared Followill tweeted, “I’m heartbroken to say that our great friend we made over the last 8 months has passed away. Honestly in shock. Devastated. RIP Ryan Dunn.” Accident-reconstruction teams have estimated Dunn’s 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 was traveling between 132 and 140 mph in a 55 mph zone when it collided with a guardrail around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The Porsche then went soaring through about 40 yards of trees before hitting one and bursting into flames. Dunn, who recently celebrated his 34th birthday, will reportedly be buried in Ohio, where he was born. The website for the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith and Boyd funeral home, where the service was held, says a public memorial will be announced at a later date. Dunn’s obituary requests contributions be sent to Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids , a foundation the country singer started in 1999 to raise money for children’s charities. On Tuesday, a very-distraught Bam Margera spoke to a local Fox affiliate, telling a reporter, “I’ve never lost anybody that I care about; he’s my best friend. “He was the happiest person, the smartest guy with so much talent,” he continued. “He had so many things going for him. … It is not right.” Bam’s mother said she considered Dunn her son. “He’s gonna be really missed by everybody,” April Margera told NBC News on Tuesday. “[I’m] sick because it’s a waste, sick because I loved him, sick because he was talented, sick because I can’t believe he’s gone.” The “Today” show reported that Dunn’s family members flew to West Chester from Ohio and Florida to plan his funeral, telling NBC News, “We are devastated by the loss. Ryan will be greatly missed, but he will forever be in our hearts.” According to a preliminary toxicology report by the Chester County coroner’s office, Dunn’s blood alcohol level was 0.196, more than twice the 0.08 legal limit in Pennsylvania. The report also says there were no “drugs of abuse” detected in Dunn’s system. The coroner’s report lists blunt force trauma and thermal trauma as the official causes of death for Dunn and his passenger, 30-year-old Iraq war vet Zachary Hartwell , who was credited as a production assistant on “Jackass Number Two” and was working with Dunn on his new G4 show, “Proving Ground.” Dunn grew up in New York before moving to West Chester, where he hooked up with Bam’s CKY crew. He kicked off his career doing stunts and skateboard tricks in a series of online videos, which eventually led to his part in MTV’s “Jackass” in 2000. He also appeared on “Viva La Bam” and “Bam’s Unholy Union,” in addition to the three big-screen “Jackass” adaptations. He was the star of his own short-lived MTV show, “Homewrecker,” and co-hosted G4’s “Proving Ground,” which premiered last week but has since been pulled off the network’s schedule. Report: Ryan Dunn VERY Drunk, Driving Up to 140 MPH at Time of Crash

A toxicology report indicates that Jackass star Ryan Dunn was drunk when he crashed his Porsche on a Pennsylvania highway and died Monday morning. Not only that, he was driving extremely fast, possibly up to 140 m.p.h. Dunn, 34, died along with his friend Zachary Hartwell, 30, from West Chester, Pa. Both men suffered ” blunt and thermal trauma ” in the crash, which effectively turned Dunn’s car into a fireball, according to the autopsy report. Authorities say the toxicology results put Ryan Dunn’s blood alcohol concentration at 0.196 percent. The Pennsylvania legal state limit is just 0.08. Before the crash that took their lives, the two men had been in a bar in West Chester. Dunn had even Tweeted a photo of them drinking. “The initial crash reconstruction investigation determined that Mr. Dunn’s vehicle was traveling between 132-140 mph at the time of the collision,” the West Goshen Police Chief, Michael Carroll, said in a statement. It’s all very tragic. It also reinforces Roger Ebert’s point – however poorly timed and worded it may have been – about drunk driving (and speeding). [Photo: WENN.com]

Bam Margera Recalls Ryan Dunn As ‘The Happiest Person’

‘I’ve never lost anybody that I care about; he’s my best friend,’ Margera says of late co-star. Bursting into tears as he remembered Dunn, Margera told a local Fox affiliate,

‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Autopsy Released

Police estimate Dunn’s car was going 130 mph when he crashed. By James Montgomery Ryan Dunn Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images The initial autopsy of “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn and the passenger killed in an early-morning wreck in rural Pennsylvania on Monday revealed that the two died from blunt-force trauma and the fire that consumed Dunn’s vehicle. According to the Chester County Coroner, Dunn and 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell were both dead before police arrived at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Monday in West Goshen Township, when the amateur daredevil’s 2007 Porsche 911 GTS swerved off the road and flew through 40 yards of trees before hitting one and bursting into flames. Relive Ryan Dunn’s best stunts on the “Jackass” TV show. West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll told Radar Online that an accident-reconstruction team was able to determine that the Porsche was traveling at a very high rate of speed — almost 130 mph — when it collided with a guard rail. “I’ve never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was, even before it caught on fire,” Carroll said. “The automobile actually came apart. It was unbelievable and I’ve been on a lot of fatal accident scenes. This was by far the worst I’ve ever seen.” TMZ reported that, based on the autopsy results, “It seems it was impossible to determine if the two died from the impact of the crash itself or from the fire that resulted.” The coroner also told the site that toxicology results for both men — which would help determine whether alcohol was involved in the crash — would be released in four to six weeks. In the hours before the crash, Dunn was photographed drinking at Barnaby’s of America , a bar in West Chester, Pennsylvania, leading some to speculate that he was drunk before the accident occurred. But an employee of the bar told MTV News that he “didn’t seem intoxicated.” “He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with friends,” the employee said. “[He] only had a couple beers here. As far as we’re concerned, the biggest thing, our hearts go out to the family and friends, and his loss is a big loss to our community. The biggest thing we’re worried about is his friends and family.” Share your memories of Ryan Dunn in the comments below. Thandie Newton Admits To Having A Relationship With Her Director When She Was 16…And He Was 39!!

Wow, definitely didn’t see THIS one coming… Thandie Newton has revealed that she has come to terms with a traumatic relationship with a film director 23 years her senior who she claims took advantage of her innocence as a teenager. She spoke about her six-year affair with director John Duigan which she began when she was 16 after travelling to Australia to audition for his film Flirting, which starred Nicole Kidman. The Bafta-winning actress has said the relationship left her feeling ‘self-destructive’ and said she has only spoken about it ‘so teenagers can see they can resist and gain self-awareness’. Speaking to InStyle magazine, Miss Newton, 38, star of Mission: Impossible II, The Pursuit of Happyness and Rock ‘n Rolla, claims Duigan took advantage of her when she was vulnerable. She said: ‘I was a very shy, very sweet girl. I wasn’t in control of the situation. Would I have liked things to be different? Sure. ‘But I can now value myself more for the way I got through it. I don’t see myself as a victim.’ She added: ‘Part of me feels grateful I can accept the difficulties that came with that situation and be a more compassionate person myself.’ Damn, so Thandie (Miss Newton if ya nasty) was a fast lil thang in her teenage years huh? We see how a young girl is attracted to an older man, but Mr. Duigan should be ashamed of his damn self! He’d be better off just payin’ prostitues that “dating” a 16 year old…smh Source

Jesus Take The Wheel: D.C. Police Officer Charged For the Murder Of His Daughter and Her Mother Over Child Support

Jesus … the wheel. A District of Columbia police officer has been charged in the death of a woman whose body was found along with that of her 1-year-old daughter in Prince George’s County. Police say Richmond Phillips was arrested Friday and charged with one count of first-degree murder. He is being held without bond. Police on Thursday night found the bodies of 20-year-old Wynetta Wright and Jaylin Wright in the area of Oxon Run Stream Valley Park. Police say Wright had obvious trauma to her body and her daughter may have died as a result of heat exposure. D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier called the crime horrific and said domestic violence can affect the most innocent victims. Wynetta Wright’s mother knew immediately that something terrible had happened when her daughter never came home Monday night. Wright left her home in Baltimore and brought along her 1-year-old daughter Jaylin, who was at the center of a child support dispute with the baby’s father Richmond Phillips. “He called her Monday night at 10:00 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. and asked her to meet him at the park. He has not called her in a year. Why she went to meet him I don’t know,” said Wyvette Wright, the missing woman’s mother. The bodies were found late Thursday night, minutes from Phillips home. Temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday reached into the upper 90s. “I get a call two bodies in the woods. This is the last place she was seen with her baby’s daddy,” Wyvette Wright said. The source says Wright and Phillips recently had a paternity tests scheduled for Tuesday, the day after she and the child went missing. Court records show they were due in court on Tuesday for a child support hearing. Damn, was this the only way out he saw? To murder a child and the woman with whom he had an extramarital affair? People are seriously losing value for life. Sadness. Source

Death Cab For Cutie’s Guide To Seattle: Coffee And Drum Lessons From Dave Grohl

In part two of our ‘Seattle Sonics’ series, the band takes us to their Sip & Ship ‘nerve center’ and American Music shop. By James Montgomery Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla and Jason McGerr Photo: MTV News SEATTLE — Chris Walla is a bit of a multitasker: That much is clear just by his rather prodigious output as a producer, solo musician and full-time member of Death Cab for Cutie . So it should probably come as no surprise that, for MTV News’ second edition of “Seattle Sonics,” Walla decided to take us to one of his favorite spots in Seatown: Sip & Ship, the kind of place that defines multitasking. See, S&S is the sort of place that seemingly only exists in Seattle: A communal, cozy combination shipping depot/coffee bar that also happens to be a gift shop. Oh, and they make a mean grilled cheese, too. Located in the city’s Ballard neighborhood — right down the block from a nefarious FedEx Office outpost — Walla first visited the shop six years ago (after a rather terrible experience at said FedEx), and in the time since, Sip & Ship has become the de facto home office for all things Death Cab. Merch, master tapes of albums, musical instruments and the occasional eBay purchase all pass through S&S. Walla has become close friends with the shop’s owners (one of them, Diana Naramore, even made a cameo in his “Sing Again” video ) and the coffee’s really great, too. “This place has become a communications and shipping and caffeine and calorie hub without which I don’t think Death Cab for Cutie would actually be able to do any business at all. This is one of the Seattle nerve centers of the band,” Walla explained. “We did a whole series of test-pressings for the new record, and we got four or five shipments of them here. We’d pick ’em up and then go home and listen to records.” Drummer Jason McGerr also chimed in: “It’s a far safer bet than my doorstep — which I don’t even step on all that often,” he said, laughing. And while Sip & Ship has been an important cog in the Death Cab machine for six years, there’s another spot nearby that’s been part of their lives for much longer: American Music, a Seattle institution since it first opened its doors in 1973 and the place where local bands (you know, like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains) went to get their gear. It’s not surprising that both Walla — who grew up nearby — and McGerr — who worked there in 1994, when he was 19 years old — chose it as the next place they took our cameras. “I traded all my paychecks for equipment, and I got to know a whole lot of local drummers,” McGerr said from his old post behind the American counter. “And there were times, 10 minutes before close, Dave Grohl would come in and sit down and just start blowing on drums and the front door would shut and we’d sit there and watch him. … There was always a scene happening within the store. If you played music and you got your supplies in Seattle, it was from American Music.” And American was also where you’d find Walla hanging out as a slightly awkward teenager, doing “double drummer stuff” with friend (and former Death Cab drummer) Nathan Good. And he did it mostly out of necessity, because back then, there weren’t many places 15-year-old music obsessives could hang out, due mostly to Seattle’s oppressive Teen Dance Ordinance , which made all-ages shows all but impossible to organize. And, really, to Walla, that’s what makes the place much more than a music store. It’s sort of his home away from home. “I got a lot of stuff here that was cast-off junk, but I still use it,” Walla said. “There are tons of music stores that are just enormous boxes, that are full of guitars and drums and cymbals and whatever, and they might have more stock than a place like American does, but American has the heart and soul of a music store that I want when I walk into a music store.” Death Cab for Cutie: Seattle Sonics continues all week on MTVNews.com. On Thursday, we’ll head to a vaunted (and now defunct) all-ages venue where DCFC learned how to be a band — and still made it home in time for curfew. Sean Kingston Expected To Make Full Recovery In Six Weeks

Singer reportedly suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist, water in lungs in jet-ski crash. By Gil Kaufman Sean Kingston Photo: Getty After entering a hospital on Sunday with critical injuries from a personal watercraft crash, singer, Sean Kingston is now expected to make a full recovery from his injuries. CNN , citing two unnamed sources close to Kingston, reported that the injuries sustained in the crash should take around six weeks to heal. The sources told the news network that the “Beautiful Girls” singer suffered a broken jaw, a fractured wrist and water in his lungs. The last update from Kingston’s label, Epic Records, reported that he was in “critical but stable condition” in a Miami hospital on Tuesday. His rep also told MTV News that Kingston , 21, is “aware of what is going on around him” and that he was “sedated but fully conscious.” On Sunday, Kingston and a female passenger crashed his Sea Doo jet ski into the Palm Island Bridge at approximately 6 p.m. ET. After being rescued by an off-duty Coast Guard employee, the pop star was taken to the trauma center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, but has since been moved to the intensive care unit. TMZ spoke to Kingston’s rescuer, who said that Sean was “puking up blood out of his mouth.” Another witness told the site he noticed a gash under Kingston’s chin after the crash. Cassandra Sanchez, 23, Sean’s friend and passenger on the jet ski at the time of the accident, has since been discharged from the hospital, Kingston’s rep confirmed. Sanchez told TMZ that Kingston tried to turn away from the bridge but was going “really fast” and couldn’t avoid the crash. Sanchez also said that as Kingston was maneuvering toward the bridge, she urged him to stop and screamed out, “We can’t fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!” Sanchez told TMZ on Tuesday that she had no plans to press charges against Kingston over the crash. “I know this whole thing was just an accident,” she said. “I won’t be pressing any type of charges or hiring a lawyer. Sean is a good guy.” CNN reported that Kingston had bought the jet ski just days before the accident, as he prepared to move into a new house in Miami. An eyewitness said Sean’s life vest fell off during the crash, which caused him to sink below the water. “They were calling us over, telling us, ‘He’s drowning, he’s drowning,’ ” witness Carmen Rivera told CNN. “We jumped in the water to help him keep his head above water,” friend Jimmy Vega added. “I pushed him up, and he was vomiting what seemed like water, and then there was some blood coming out,” Jonathan Rivera said. Rapper Trav, whose new song “Up and Down” features Kingston, told CNN he visited his friend in the hospital on Monday and said Sean was “very responsive.” Send your well wishes to Kingston by leaving a comment below.
