We have all the dirt on the ‘Twilight Saga’ cast’s downtime — or lack thereof. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage With their major promotional duties over, and the record-breaking “Eclipse” in no need of any more star power, it stands to reason that the film’s castmembers should be getting ready for some well-deserved rest and relaxation before heading back to work on “Breaking Dawn” in the fall. That’s not the case, however, as many of the popular young actors are very much in demand for film studios and audiences alike at the moment. Here’s a look at what the “Eclipse”ters are up to in their “Twilight” downtime. Taylor Lautner Taylor Lautner is in Pittsburgh filming “Abduction,” alongside Sigourney Weaver and Lily Collins, directed by John Singleton. “It’s a very real action-thriller,” Lautner told MTV News at the “Eclipse” premiere in L.A. “[It has a] great story, great cast and I start in, like, three days.” Robert Pattinson Robert Pattinson has been shooting the book-to-screen adaptation “Water for Elephants,” in which he plays a college dropout who becomes an animal caretaker for a traveling circus in the 1930s. Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz co-star. In addition to cutting his famous shaggy locks for the role, Pattinson told MTV News he’s picked up some coordination during filming. “I’ve become a little less mal-coordinated in the last couple years,” he said. “[The film has] quite a few active bits. I’m pulling around horses and stuff, and I was like, ‘When have I suddenly become capable?’ ” Kristen Stewart Kristen Stewart will be busy with “On the Road,” co-starring “Tron: Legacy” star Garret Hedlund. Stewart recently told MTV News that she’s excited to work with Hedlund. “I’ve met him a bunch of times and hung out with him twice. He’s a great guy,” she said. “He’s written crazy stuff for it. He’s so in character right now. He’s driving to Montreal [for filming]. He’s awesome. I’m really excited.” Anna Kendrick Acclaimed “Up in the Air” star Anna Kendrick (a.k.a. Jessica) next appears in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and an untitled Seth Rogen comedy, but a role Kendrick is dying for is a part in the upcoming “Hobbit,” which she revealed to MTV News at the “Eclipse” premiere. “Believe me, I spend many nights wondering that,” Kendrick said when asked if there might be a role in the upcoming Tolkien adaptation. “This is officially my feeler!” Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz Other busy bees include Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz. Greene will appear in “Apparition” opposite Sebastian Stan and Tom Felton, recently wrapped “Butter” with Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman, and also has the action/sport film “Warrior” on her slate, opposite her “Twilight” sibling. Lutz, in addition to “Warrior,” is off kicking butt in Tarsem Singh’s Greek gods-centric epic “Immortals,” opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Freida Pinto, Isabel Lucas and Mickey Rourke. Nine Inch Nails frontman will collaborate on soundtrack to David Fincher’s ‘The Social Network.’ By Gil Kaufman Trent Reznor Photo: Sean Gardner/ Getty Images Although he claimed he was putting Nine Inch Nails in the deep-freeze , frontman Trent Reznor is not fading into the distance. The leader of the legendary industrial powerhouse has recorded the soundtrack to the upcoming David Fincher (“Fight Club”) movie “The Social Network,” which tells the story of how Facebook was created. “I was planning on taking some time off after the continual waves of touring that ended last fall and spend this year experimenting around with what would become How To Destroy Angels and some new NIN,” Reznor wrote on the Nine Inch Nails website , referring to HTDA, the band he started with his wife, Mariqueen Maandig. “Well, that plan didn’t work out so well. David Fincher started inquiring about my interest in scoring his upcoming film, ‘The Social Network.’ Yeah, the movie about the founding of Facebook. I’ve always loved David’s work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story.” Then Reznor, who has had an up-and-down/love-hate relationship with social networking sites, said he read the script for the movie. “When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned,” he explained. “Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll, so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on,” Reznor said of composer/producer Ross, a frequent NIN collaborator. “Months later, I’m happy to tell you we’re nearing the completion of this and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out. The level of excellence that David operates on is inspiring and the entire process has been challenging and truly enjoyable.” He project, or two, in time for the film’s October 1 opening. Reznor said he expects the album to be available several weeks before the movie’s release, which, he noted, is “really f—ing good. And dark!” While Reznor has contributed songs to soundtracks before, including David Lynch’s “Lost Highway,” this is the first time he’s committed to recording an entire soundtrack. “The Social Network” tracks the rise of Facebook, from its inception in 2004 on the Harvard University campus, and stars Jessie Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Rashida Jones.
