David Arquette#39;s car reportedly veered into oncoming traffic while he was trying to avoid another car that stopped suddenly in West Hollywood, TMZ.com reports. David Arquette Tweets That He’s ‘Fine’ After Car Crash

By MTV News staff David Arquette Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage While it was reported that David Arquette was lying on the ground and bleeding after a head-on car crash Friday (March 4), the recently embattled actor took to Twitter hours later to let his followers know he’s going to be OK. “I got into a car accident but I’m fine,” he tweeted, adding a quip about tiger-blooded fellow actor Charlie Sheen . “Luckily I have dragon’s blood running through my veins. Haha Thank you for all your concern.” A few minutes before that message, Arquette tweeted , “Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was.” According to TMZ , Arquette was driving in West Hollywood, California, when his car veered into oncoming traffic. A photograph posted on the site showed Arquette lying on his back in the grass with his eyes closed and his hands crossed over his chest. The “Scream 4” actor has had a difficult few months beginning last October when he and his wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox, announced their plans to separate . Since that announcement, Arquette spent time at a rehabilitation facility to deal with alcohol abuse and “other issues.” “Everybody’s worried and concerned about me,” Arquette said during one of a series of revealing interviews with friend and radio host Howard Stern. “I’ve been drinking a lot because I’m heartbroken. It’s really a personal, traumatic thing. … When I drink, I become a maniac.” Arquette had previously revealed to Stern details about his sex life with his ex and his distress over the separation. At the time he checked into rehab earlier this year, Courteney Cox told People magazine, “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”

The “Black and Yellow” star followed up his breakout single, which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Roll Up.” When he spoke to MTV News late last year, he teased the song as a nod to his favorite pastime — his album is called Rolling Papers , after all. “The next single is called ‘Roll Up,’ surprisingly,” he coyly explained with a laugh. The song, however, is anything but smoke inducing: It’s more of the skirt-chasing variety. “I was trying to be funny, be clever as possible,” Wiz told us recently on the set of the video for “Roll Up.” “It’s for the chicks. It’s for guys to sing to chicks. And it’s just a fun song.” In the clip, directed by Jake Davis (Drake and Trey Songz’s “Successful”), Wiz said he is “courting a female that I’m into.” Instead of real-life love interest Amber Rose, however, the Pittsburgh rapper has his sights set on the female lead in the video, Bad Boy recording artist Cassie. “It’s really, really awesome,” Wiz said of her casting. After being named one of MTV News’ 11 for ’11 celebrities to look out for in the new year, Wiz has managed to put a lot on his plate. He’s gracing the cover of the new Rolling Stone , he’s scheduled to start the Green Carpet Tour next month, and he and Snoop Dogg are finishing up their “High School” movie and music joint effort. But first, Wiz has to drop his album — Rolling Papers , his major-label debut, is set for a March 29 release — after a long rise to stardom for the former underground favorite. “I been waiting to put an album out for a long time,” he said. “But I feel like now my sound, at this point, has grown and matured and it’s right where it needs to be at for people to get that perfect pull and debut album from me. Comedic actor Mike Myers of the “Austin Powers” and “Shrek” franchises married his longtime girlfriend Kelly Tisdale in a private ceremony … five months ago. A rep for Myers confirmed the news to the New York Post ‘s Page Six that the 47-year-old “Saturday Night Live” alum wed Tisdale after roughly four years of dating. The rep told the newspaper that the under-the-radar ceremony for the secretive couple was “beautiful.” This marks the second marriage for Myers, who split from his wife of 12 years, writer/actress Robin Ruzan, in late 2005. Myers used Ruzan’s mother Linda as the inspiration for his popular “SNL” skit “Coffee Talk” and credited Ruzan herself for encouraging him to make the “Austin Powers” films. R.I.P. Solider Killed In Car Accident On His Birthday After Surviving A Suicide Attack In Afghanistan!

Damn…maybe ‘Final Destination’ is real… A Purple Heart recipient survived a deadly suicide attack in Afghanistan, only to perish today in a violent car crash at his own birthday party in Long Island, officials said. Smithtown resident Seamus Byrne, 33, had been celebrating his big day with friends at Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub and was walking home at 1:45 a.m. when he was hit. Byrne, who lived just a half-mile away from the pub, was in the cross walk headed home but realizing he had forgotten to say good night to one well-wisher, according to father-in-law James Gallagher. When Byrne turned back, that’s when a 1998 Honda driven by Michael Armentano, 24, also of Smithtown, plowed into the vet, cops said. Armentano has no priors and was not impaired, officials said. Cops are still investigating, but have so far ruled the tragic crash as an accident. “He was just a really good guy, full if vigor and he loved his family,” Gallagher said of his fallen son-in-law. “It’s a tragedy.” Byrne, a member of the Army National Guard’s Fighting 69th Infantry Regiment, was deployed to Afghanistan in January, 2008, his family said. He was in a Humvee when a suicide bomber attacked nearby, killing nine and severely injuring Byrne. The Kings Park, LI, native suffered a concussion was hospitalized for several months. He’d been home in Long Island for two years but still struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disoder, according to Gallagher. Still, Byrne persevered and worked as a carpenter. He and his wife Michelle had purchased a home two years ago and were raising their kids Seamus Jr., 10, and Ashley, 3. At this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend , a number of hoop stars, and the wife of one player in particular, wholeheartedly agreed with this observation. “They always say all rappers want to be basketball players, [and] all basketball players want to be rappers,” La La Vazquez, wife of New York Knick Carmelo Anthony and ex-MTV VJ, told MTV News. Over the years, a number of NBA players have actually become rappers on the side. Besides four championships — three with the Los Angeles Lakers, one with the Miami Heat — Shaquille O’Neal also managed to release four albums. The first, 1993’s Shaq Diesel, went platinum and the third, 1996’s You Can’t Stop the Reign, featured a pair of verses from the Notorious B.I.G. on its title track. More recently, L.A. Laker Ron Artest has embarked on a rap career, while his teammate Kobe Bryant once kicked rhymes on R&B singer Brian McKnight’s “Hold Me.” Not every player necessarily has rap dreams to go along with their hoop dreams, though. “Every player except me wants to be a rapper,” said Dwight Howard of the NBA’s Orlando Magic. “I don’t want to do the rap thing.” Howard did add though about his fellow NBA stars, “We love music. We love hip-hop and we support it.” LeBron James, who is famously and charitably good friends with Jay-Z, mentioned how basketball players are frequently name-checked in song. For example, on Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind,” the MC rhymes, “Jesus paying LeBron, I’m paying Dwyane Wade.” This synergy between players and rappers ultimately boils down to mutual respect. “We all came from nothing,” Boston Celtic Kevin Garnett told us. “The appreciation factor for each other, the fact you gotta grind and work hard to get where you at, it’s similar. It’s a very similar industry.” Garnett’s teammate and fellow All-Star Rajon Rondo added, “We respect those guys the way they respect us. It kind of goes hand in hand.
