California Dreamin’

Yesterday I had another book signing in Glendale, California. It was so much fun to meet all of the readers who came to the signing, especially the little kids! Being on a book tour is almost more fun than the campaign trail. I want to thank everyone who has purchased my book and come out to the signings; you’ve made this all possible for me and I’m so grateful for your support. Tonight I am a guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. I hope everyone will tune in and watch. The other guests are Ed Harris and GEORGE CLINTON! I can’t wait to meet him; I’m such a big fan! The Insider and LA HQ

Yesterday was a big day with a stop at “The Insider” for an interview with Lara Spencer and then a trip to the campaign’s headquarters in Santa Monica to meet our tireless volunteers. Once again, I want to thank everyone for their support during my book tour. I just found out that “My Dad, John McCain” officially became a New York Times bestseller yesterday. I am so honored and grateful! Song of the Day: “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry

Oxford and Sacramento

As election day draws near, I have had the distinct privilege of branching off and campaigning for my dad with Shannon and Heather, while continuing my book tour. At first I was extremely nervous, but this is such a fun little tour to be on and I am having a blast meeting all of the incredibly dedicated volunteers at McCain-Palin offices around the country. I am so grateful to be having such an enjoyable, free-spirited, positive experience meeting such amazing volunteers and supporters; signing books for some of the cutest kids I have ever seen; and working every day with my favorite people in the world. Shannon, Heather, Frank, Melissa and Josh – You rock my world! I am a lucky girl to have such supportive, beautiful friends at my side, helping to elect my dad as the next President of the United States! We’ve been in Oxford and Sacramento and are headed to more cities in California before spending a few days in Ohio. We’ll have a big suprise for all of our readers in Ohio… trust me, I couldn’t be more excited for our trip to Ohio! Song of the Day: “Good Souls” by Starsailor

Styles P Releases Debut Novel ‘Invincible,’ Written On His Blackberry

‘It’s another hustle for me,’ LOX member says of his fiction. By Shaheem Reid Styles P Photo: MTV News Styles P the Ghost is not your average author. His methods are a little unorthodox. The LOX member took two years to write his first novel, “Invincible” … on his Blackberry. Styles told MTV News that he often wrote the book in the D-Block studio while recording his latest solo LP, The Ghost Dub-Dime, and the LOX’s next group album, which they hope to release later this year. “The way I did it was so left field,” SP said. “It’s another hustle for me; it’s another way for me to express art.” Styles said he has wanted to write a book for over five years, but had trepidation because he didn’t go to school to be a writer and worried he would get things like punctuation wrong. Ironically, he never actually writes down his rhymes, preferring instead to compose them in his head. But a couple of years ago, he put all the negative thoughts aside and went into it. “The main character, he’s a dude, he’s been through the street life before,” Styles explained of protagonist Jake Billings. “But he turned his life around. He owns a little store, basically trying to get some money. Live the legit way. Basically, he puts his past behind him.” Unfortunately, when two kids try to rob his store, his response lands him in prison. While he’s locked up, he receives an anonymous letter threatening his life. And shortly after a visit from his girlfriend, he’s stabbed and winds up in a coma for two years. “He wakes up, ‘Who put me in a coma?’ ” Styles explained. “His past is sketchy; he can’t remember everything, so he’s gotta piece his life together while trying to stay alive. He has to be positive while dealing with all the negativity. He’s basically a trooper.” One of his main enemies in the book is the mysterious Frank and a gang named the 300 Crew. “When you read, you get to see how it lays out or how it plays out,” Styles added. He wanted Jake to be a character that many people, including himself, can relate to, though Jake isn’t based on him. “Not me, personally,” he said. “But as far as, everybody knows somebody with that kind of story. Especially if you come from the ghetto and know that kind of ‘hood life. Even the suburbs knows that kind of story and struggle. You could be in a negative light and trying to be positive or be in a positive light and get pulled into the negative. I tried to show both sides.” “Invincible” is out Tuesday (June 1) and available at bookstores and online at StylesP.net . The book also has a soundtrack, featuring guest spots from LOX members Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and others. Do you think you’ll by Styles P’s new novel? Talk about it in the comments below. Sarah Palin to Joe McGinniss: Beat it, Stalker!

Sarah Palin is understandably far from pleased that writer Joe McGinniss rented the house next door to her while authoring a book about the former governor. But stalking allegations? Really, Sarah? That’s pretty low … but from someone who demands straws that bend at speaking engagements, are you shocked? McGinniss said on the Today show this morning that despite accusations from the political lightning rod, he’s not harassing them. Quite the opposite, in fact. “If I lived here and did something creepy, if I did what Sarah Palin is suggesting, that would be creepy,” McGinniss said. “I’m not observing them at all.” “I don’t care what they do in the privacy of their own home,” he continued. “I’m here to talk to people who have known them for 40 years in Wasilla.” McGinniss claims he got a good deal on a rental that happens to border the Palins’ property, and would have taken it if “Sarah Palin lived on the moon.” WELCOME TO WASILLA! Sarah Palin is far from pleased with her new neighbor . True or not, the 67-year-old writer is next door, leaving the maverick concerned for her privacy and questioning McGinniss’s motives … on Facebook, natch. “Wonder what kind of material he’ll gather while overlooking Piper’s bedroom, my little garden, and the family’s swimming hole?” Sarah Palin wrote online. McGinniss denies he did any of that, or that he is trying to drum up publicity for his book, claiming he told no one outside his family where he was living. “Then Sarah hysterically puts up this Facebook page with all sorts of ugly innuendo, which frankly is revolting,” he says. “She has created all the publicity.” McGinniss, known mostly as a true-crime writer, has reportedly received death threats thanks to Palin triggering outrage from right-wing media outlets. Palin “unleashed the hounds of hell,” he says, comparing her tactics to that of Nazi troopers in the ’30s. Maybe he should send over a nice fruit basket? The Hills cast is becoming increasingly fed up with the way the show’s producers are meddling with their lives to create drama. Now Kristin Cavallari is fighting back. “After The Hills, I plan to work on many business opportunities, and I’ve always wanted to write a tell-all book,” the show’s resident bad girl/narrator tells In Touch . That producers manufacture drama and have writers create story lines? We already know that, girl. Save your energy. If Kristin tells all … do you care? [Photo: PacificCoastNewsOnline.com]

The battle of the "awkward teenager" actor has begun!

http://www.newsweek.com/id/238281 Well, you know the typical actor. The quite awkward teenager that has a hard time talking to girls or saying anything to anyone for that matter. So you need someone find someone to play that part in a production? “Who you gonna call?!” Jesse Eisenberg or Michael Cera? Well for most of us we had our first taste of this type of acting when we watched young George Michael on Arrested Development. Later after that, Michael Cera continued this in many other movies like Juno, Super Bad, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, and in August the blockbuster Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Also something to add, the character that Cera plays in “SPTW” is much different than the other roles that Cera has done in the past. Soon though a contender came into the ring. It started in Jesse Eisenberg played in Fierce People, then leading to more roles in films like Adventureland, Zombieland, The Education of Charlie Banks, and Holy Rollers. Now the question is which one is the leading man in awkward adolescence? Well there are many factors to think about. Which one has more corky charm? Which one is more identifiable with? Just who wins me over in my book? I would have to say Michael is the winner! He's got perfect timing when the mood calls for it. He seems to have that sweet kindness that's kind of a turn on. Jesse Eisenberg just comes off as generic and kind of a prick. So all in all that's where I stand, the facts are all there. But question is now turned to you: Jesse or Michael? http://www.newsweek.com/id/238281 added by: a_roxanne
