Movieline’s Favorite Palin Feud of the Day: Keith Olbermann vs. Bristol

This rarely recurring feature was once called ” Movieline’s Favorite Celebrity Feud of the Day ,” but since all feuds lead through Wasilla nowadays, let’s just change the title accordingly. This week, MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann railed against former Dancing with the Stars finalist Bristol Palin because she still preaches about the effectiveness of abstinence (preaching made difficult by the child in her arms). Calling Bristol the “worst person in the world” was taking it a bit too far, however, and so Bristol replied to Olbermann the way most Palin’s express themselves — with a missive on Facebook .

10 TV Characters You Should Name Your Edgy Kids After

This week in sickening news : People name their kids after Glee characters and Betty Draper. A tally of baby names in 2010 shows that “Quinn,” “Finn,” and “Betty” are exponentially more popular spawn labels than they were in 2009. That is too bad. Naming your child is a profound task, and if you plan on using a TV character as source material, the least you can do is not consider the folks who mangled Sally Draper’s childhood or Rocky Horror . Here are 10 characters — with fancy, zeitgeist-tickling names — who deserve your consideration.

Jay Sean Calls Alicia Keys’ Digital Life Sacrifice Effort ‘Perfect’

‘Sometimes you need to be really shook up and poked and prodded to do something,’ he tells MTV News of World AIDS Day campaign. By Kara Warner Jay Sean’s coffin image symbolizing his digital death Photo: Markus Klinko/ Indrani/ GK Reid Alicia Keys’ crafty Digital Life Sacrifice campaign — for which a slew of celebs will be offing their cyber-selves in an effort to promote World AIDS Day and raise money for Keys’ Keep a Child Alive charity — is certainly the buzziest and most star-studded effort for this particular cause we’ve witnessed. Celeb “victim” Jay Sean told MTV News that he jumped onboard partially due to Keys’ involvement, but mostly because the campaign is dedicated to saving the lives of children in Africa and India, who wouldn’t have a voice otherwise. “I think we all sometimes turn a blind eye to things that might be depressing, too heavy,” Sean said. “But sometimes you need to be really shook up and poked and prodded to do something, because the way I believe is that every human needs another human being to get some life. … We need each other, and I feel like we should all help each other.” Not to mention the fact that Keys’ concept of “killing” your cyber-self is brilliant. “It’s genius, because [social media] is the new thing, the new age, and fans, they want complete access,” Sean said. “They want 100 percent of you 100 percent of the time. They want to know what you are doing now ! They don’t want to wait and read it on a website; they want to know now !” he laughed, adding that while the “death” part is tongue-in-cheek, getting fans to bring their favorite celebs “back to life” is the perfect call to action. “I’m not coming back until you donate some money!” he said. “Sometimes you need a prod, and this is the perfect way of doing it.” As part of the Buy Life promotion, the celebrities will urge fans to donate to the charity in order to buy back their online presence. Fans can text the first name of the celebrity they are mourning to 90999, and $10 will instantly be donated to the cause. Participants include Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, Diddy, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Khlo

Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian Stage Online Death For World AIDS Day

Alicia Keys recruits Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ryan Seacrest, more for Buy Life campaign. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Getty Images If you see headlines this Wednesday about Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian giving up on social media, don’t be alarmed. Along with Usher, Elijah Wood, Justin Timberlake, Khloe Kardashian and Jennifer Hudson, they’re participating in a stunt to promote World AIDS Day in which they will kill off their cyberselves for one day as part of a Digital Life Sacrifice. The idea was hatched by singer Alicia Keys to raise money for her charity, Keep a Child Alive , and as part of the Buy Life promotion the celebrities will urge fans to donate to the charity in order to buy back their online presence. Fans can text the first name of the celebrity they are mourning to 90999 and $10 will instantly be donated to the cause. Kardashian is among the participants who have posed for a poster to bring attention to the effort. In it, she lies in a casket while wearing a cocktail dress and clutching her cell phone. Celebrities such as mega-tweeter Ryan Seacrest have agreed to sign off all social networks on Tuesday until they raise $1 million for World AIDS Day. Seacrest has even videotaped a “Last Tweet and Testament” representing his digital death for his Facebook page that will be linked to from his final tweet early Tuesday morning. In another taped plea, Jennifer Hudson says, “Come on, y’all. Buy my life back. Go on a shopping spree and buy as much of it as you can.” Keep a Child Alive helps provide money for medical care and support services for children and families impacted by HIV and AIDS in Africa and India. Manager: Oksana Grigorieva is a Two-Faced, Button-Pushing Opportunist

A man Mel Gibson hired to manage Oksana Grigorieva’s singing career says she’s basically a back-stabbing liar who was constantly “pushing [Mel’s] buttons.” Michael Lustig submitted a declaration for Mel in his child custody case, claiming that despite Gibson’s efforts, Oksana never showed an ounce of gratitude. Sort of the sentiment we heard on the Mel Gibson tapes . TWO-FACED : We’re shocked someone would think that … In the document, Lustig states, “In my experience, Ms. Grigorieva’s disposition is generally anxious, depressed and uneasy. She constantly ‘digs’ at Mr. Gibson.” It’s not surprising that he adds how she “pushes his buttons.” Lustig says Oksana Grigorieva was a “dark” person when she argued with Mel, noting he often heard her yell at him with “sharp, pointed and nasty” words. Yeah. Amazing to think that someone could actually make Mel Gibson look like something of a sympathetic victim in all of this, but Oksana is doing her best.
