Two more roles in The Hunger Games have been filled. Lionsgate has confirmed that the parts of Rue and Thresh of District 11 have officially been cast – Dayo Okeniyi will play strong and quiet District 11 tribute Thresh, while Amandla Stenberg will play Katniss Everdeen’s young ally Rue. Photos of these two relative newcomers … These two look the part(s), but as far as acting chops, they’re unproven. Doesn’t mean they won’t pass muster, of course. Everyone starts somewhere. The pair joins Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth , who recently won the roles of Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively, in the new film. The gorgeous, talented Jennifer Lawrence will play Katniss, of course. Who’s still left to be cast? One major part – the role of Haymitch Abernathy, the only living Hunger Games winner of District 12 – is still vacant.

You might think I sound crazy, but I know I’m not the only one who gets chills when they think about the first time they saw the Mortal Kombat movie. The movie itself is largely disappointing, but after playing the games obsessively at local arcades – lining up quarters, practicing fatalities, etc. – finally sitting down in the theater and hearing the initial scream of “MORTAL KOMBAT,” over the New… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 08/04/2011 01:50 Number of articles : 4
IRS imposed lien on Wayne’s multimillion-dollar Miami home for nonpayment of income taxes. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Lil Wayne’s pockets are about to get a bit lighter, because Uncle Sam wants his fair share. The New Orleans rapper was hit with a federal tax lien to the tune of $5.6 million. According to The Detroit News , the IRS lien, dated March 2 but made official on March 28, was filed in Miami Dade County and notes that Dwayne M. Carter has an unpaid income-tax balance due of $3,351,078 for 2008 and $2,258,956 for 2009. The Miami Beach, Florida, address listed on the lien is for Wayne’s 15,101-square-foot mansion, which is currently on the market for a shade under $13 million. This is not the first time Lil Wayne has had to settle an overdue tax bill . Last year, the Young Money CEO was hit with a lien by the IRS that totaled $1.1 million for income tax years 2004, 2005 and 2007. Wayne, who reportedly paid the $1.1 million he already owed, will want to make sure he takes care of overdue taxes sooner rather than later. Recently, Ja Rule pleaded guilty to tax evasion in a federal court in New Jersey after admitting that he neglected to pay taxes on more than $4 million in income between 2004 and 2006. Already facing two years for attempted gun possession (Lil Weezy was arrested the same day as Ja Rule, resulting in his eight-month incarceration at Rikers Island), the Queens rapper will be sentenced for the tax evasion charges in June as well. Lil Wayne is currently on his I Am Still Music Tour, where he recently received a lap dance from Nicki Minaj during her show. Related Artists Lil Wayne
Hutcherson will play Peeta, while Hemsworth is cast as Gale, studio announces. By Kara Warner Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth Photo: Getty Images After months of debate, speculation and rumors , Lionsgate has officially announced casting for the two male leads in the highly-anticipated film, “The Hunger Games.” Josh Hutcherson (“The Kids Are All Right”) will play romantic, reluctant hero Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth (“The Last Song”) will play brooding boy-next-door Gale Hawthorne. Hutcherson and Hemsworth will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, who was recently announced as having landed the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen . Hutcherson has been acting for over a decade in films like “Bridge to Terabithia” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” but he is perhaps most recognizable for his role in last year’s critical darling and Oscar-nominated film, “The Kids Are All Right.” Australian Hemsworth, although slightly newer to Hollywood, has been garnering attention from his roles in TV and film, particularly British soap, “Neighbours” and last year’s tear-jerker romance, “The Last Song.” (That and the fact that he dated Miley Cyrus.) “The Hunger Games” is based on Suzanne Collins’ dystopian best-seller about children forced to compete in an annual, televised fight-to-the-death battle. It is an intense and violent story of survival, corrupt governments and a struggling population, with a heartbreaking love triangle thrown in for good measure. The fanbase for “The Hunger Games” is a fiercely loyal one whose ferocity and dedication to Collins’ source material have drawn comparisons to the “Twilight” fans, although “Hunger Games” readers tend to skew slightly older. The film is slated to hit theaters March 23, 2012. For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . It looks like we might have a pair of winners in the Movieline-approved battle royale for the male leads in Hunger Games . Deadline reports that Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are the front-runners to play Gale and Peeta in the Gary Ross-directed film. “I love Peeta,” Hutcherson told EW last month . “The character is so much who I am — self deprecating, a people person. And he’d be such a great character to play! Like in the third book? Oh my God.” Developing… [ Deadline ]
Boobalicious blonde Barbara Crampton , star of 80’s horror flicks great ( Re-Animator , 1985) and not so great ( Chopping Mall , 1986), is returning to the horror game with You’re Next , which started principal photography in Missouri this week. It’s not yet clear what part she’ll be playing in the film, directed by Adam Wingard , but production company Snoot Entertainment promises “a fresh spin” on the typically brutal and intense home invasion subgenre (think Funny Games or High Tension ): ” In ‘You’re Next’ the Davison family comes under attack from a terrifying group of sadistic murderers during a family reunion getaway. Barricaded in their secluded vacation home, they fight off a barrage of axes, crossbows and machetes from both inside and outside the house. However, the masked killers didn’t count on Erin (Vinson), the young girlfriend of the eldest Davison son whose mysterious past has made her very difficult to kill. ” Barbara has been working mostly in soap operas for the past decade, so fright fans who have been missing her lovely face (and awesome anatomy)- like Mr. Skin- are looking forward to her return to scream queen form. But will she bare those fabulous funbags, now aged to perfection like a fine wine? It would be downright sadistic not to!
