Apollo Nida was charged with fraud and identity theft back in January, and today, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was sentenced to eight years in federal prison. Nida was operating a scam that involved setting up fake companies in order to create databases that allowed him to find individuals whose private information he would use to embezzle funds. He opened fake accounts under real names and funneled cash from auto loans and U.S. Treasury checks into those accounts. He was also accused of opening a fake auto dealership and applying for car loans using stolen identities. Nida pled guilty in May, and for a time it looked as though he might be able to cop a plea deal and avoid jail time. Those hopes were dashed at his sentencing hearing held earlier today. Nida blamed pressure to keep up with wife Phaedra Parks for motivating him to concoct his elaborate schemes. He has stated in recent interviews that he and Parks are “working on” their marriage, though they have not been seen together in several weeks. Nida was not immediately taken into custody, but will surrender himself on a date that has yet to be revealed. Both Nida and Parks have yet to comment publicly on the sentencing. Will Phaedra and Apollo be living in the streets soon? Apollo Nida Properties To Be Seized In Fraud Case The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion is over, but the drama continues off-screen thanks to Apollo Nida’s messy bank fraud and identity theft case. Via RadarOnline reports: Phaedra Parks’ husband waived his indictment last week, paving the way to a trial or a plea deal. But in further court documents obtained by Radar, prosecutors make it clear that the former felon’s road to freedom won’t be a painless one. RadarOnline.com has learned that the feds could be prepping to seize his homes! Court documents filed on April 24 and obtained by Radar state that “Upon conviction of the offense alleged… [Nida] shall forfeit to the United States … any property constituting or derived from proceeds obtained directly or indirectly as a result of” his alleged scam. If the court can’t find or agree upon what that property is, the government will expect a cash payment. Nida is still a long way from conviction, but should reality TV star Parks be worried about losing her home? Probably not. Nida and Parks signed a pre-nup before marrying in 2009, and according to property records obtained by Radar, they have managed to keep their property holdings separate since then. In fact, when Parks and Nida moved into their $849,000 Buckhead mansion in 2013, according to a sale report, her name was the only one on the lease. In addition, she is still the owner of a $161,900 home in Athens, Georgia, according to property records. Records show Nida as the owner of several other low-end properties in the Atlanta area. So even if Nida ends up going to the big house, Parks will still be a housewife — for now. Phaedra is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from stupid so we doubt the couple and their family will end up homeless.

That much is unclear, but TV Fanatic has confirmed that the First Lady will guest star on the May 7 episode of this ABC drama, coming on board as herself for an installment that features a charity concert at Army base Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Kellie Pickler will also appear on this episode. Obama will also be seen on this Thursday’s season finale of Parks and Recreation and has recently stopped by iCarly, Sesame Street and The Biggest Loser. She remains intent on promoting nutrition and physical well-being for her Let’s Move! initiative.

With a failed talk show under her belt, SkinnyGirl Bethenny Frankel will NOT be returning to the Real Housewives of New York . The experience, she says, was like “Vietnam War flashbacks.” You know, the one where 58,209 Americans lost their lives? Yeah. That’s what she says being on RHONY was like. During the same interview wherein Bethenny admitted that she failed as a talk show host, she admitted that part of the reason for the show’s failure was that she felt stifled on the air. “I like to be free,” she said. “I don’t plan on what I’m going to say.” Judging the Vietnam War comment, that’s a pretty accurate statement there Bethenny. While the SkinnyGirl creator has made quite a name for herself, she said that her journey to the top of the pasta and alcohol food chain has been rife with so many disasters, so many failures, so many low points” and, she told the audience, “no amount of money can heal pain, suffering and loss.” While a source close to Frankel says that the former RHONY star won’t “stoop” to return to the series that helped launch her career, she is in talks with Bravo’s Andy Cohen to come back to his cable channel in a different series. Perhaps one where the bitter divorce in which she is currently embroiled plays out. Razor Blades Found Glued On Playground Equipment At Illinois Park Via KWQC reports: Authorities in East Moline say they found around a dozen razor blades glued to playground equipment this afternoon at Millennium Park on Archer Drive in East Moline. Police say a two-year-old child was injured with a cut on his hand. “I’ve seen a lot of things, but not razor blades glued to equipment at a park,” said Lieutenant Brian Foltz, who has been with the East Moline Police Department for almost 20 years. About a dozen razors were found on the monkey bars, a slide and on the ground, all connected with a putty-like substance. He says police responded to Millennium Park at around 12:45 PM. “East Moline parks are safe, but it’s just a bad situation, bad instance where somebody, or maybe a group of kids, I don’t know who did this, but figured this would be a fun prank to do,” he said. The boy’s father treated him at home, and went with police to the park, where they say they found and removed around a dozen razor blades glued onto park equipment with a white, putty-like substance. The evidence remains visible. Parents say they’re surprised to see this kind of vandalism. “It’s something I can look out for now, if ever I’m here,” Ty Langley said. “We just kind of think about them swinging on the swing set or, you know, climbing the monkey bars. Don’t really think about razor blades.” Police say they’re investigating the incident. They went back to Millennium Park at around 5 PM, double-checking the scene. They say they also looked at the rest of East Moline’s parks. “We wanted to check out, just to make sure, and so far, we have not found anything else in any of the parks.” Police say there have been other vandalism-type incidents recently, and are asking neighbors to keep an eye out for anything unusual at area parks. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. The kid was taken home and parents treated their cuts. There are no suspects right now. There have been vandalism incidents at the park in the past year but nothing like this. We’ll continue to update as the story developed. WTF?!?!?
