Jenn Sterger to Release More Brett Favre Evidence?

Jenn Sterger has kept a low profile throughout the Brett Favre scandal. So far. That could change if she isn’t satisfied with the results of the investigation. If the NFL doesn’t discipline Favre for the sexting and voicemails he allegedly sent to Jenn, the former Jets reporter may decide to go public with proof. She has an “overabundance of evidence,” too, according to her manager. Does Jenn Sterger have more evidence that Brett Favre harassed her? Like his status every single Sunday, that remains up in the air … at least for the moment . Favre could get word any day now about potential punishment for allegedly sending Jenn Sterger photos of his penis while he was with the New York Jets. She was working as the team’s stadium host at the time. Jenn’s manager, Phil Reese, believes she “provided extensive evidence that irrefutably proves there was harassment” and adds, “No matter what happens Jenn has all legal remedies, including going public … if the NFL doesn’t clear her name.” Reese says the NFL’s action regarding the Brett Favre scandal weighs heavily on changing public opinion of Sterger. Basically, she wants him suspended. Sterger’s camp insists she has more evidence than the photos that have come out. Reese adds, “We sincerely hope the league does the right thing.” Here’s Brett hollering at Jenn on voicemail: Brett Favre Messages to Jenn Sterger

Demi Lovato: Nearing Settlement with Alex Welch

As expected, it looks like Demi Lovato and Alex Welch are close to reaching a settlement. A day after the 21-year old back-up dancer told the world that Demi had yet to apologize for last month’s punch to the face, the legal action has heated up between lawyers for both parties. Soon after his client gave this interview, Don Karpel said he would file suit against the Sonny With a Chance actress “in the next seven to 10 days” for alleged assault and battery. That got the attention of Lovato’s team, spokesman Jesse Derris said: “Demi’s attorneys have had an initial discussion with Mr. Karpel. They are exploring the possibility of an amicable resolution of this matter. We do not plan on making further public comments during this process.” Without going into detail, Karpel echoed this sentiment, telling E! News : “I have engaged in discussions with Demi Lovato’s attorney. I’m fairly confident we will be able to resolve these issues.” Expect an undisclosed amount to be exchanged between the two sides in the near future.

Demi Lovato And Backup Dancer Close To A Deal, Lawyer Says

‘I’m fairly confident we will be able to resolve these issues,’ Alex Welch’s lawyer tells E! News. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato and Alex Welch Photo: Getty Images After Alex Welch spoke out about her alleged altercation with Demi Lovato — noting that she had yet to receive an apology from the actress, who is seeking treatment for personal issues — comes news that both camps are close to a settlement to keep Welch from suing the Disney star. The dancer’s lawyer, Don Karpel, told E! News , “I have engaged in discussions with Demi Lovato’s attorney. I’m fairly confident we will be able to resolve these issues.” A rep for the actress confirmed the report as well, noting that “they did speak” about the matter. The rep added: “Demi’s attorneys have had an initial discussion with Mr. Karpel. They are exploring the possibility of an amicable resolution of this matter. We do not plan on making further public comments during this process.” Karpel claims that Welch suffered emotional and physical repercussions after Lovato allegedly punched her as well as “lasting physical damage,” which caused the dancer to consult with a plastic surgeon. E! reports that both camps began discussions Tuesday (December 7) after Welch, who was a dancer on the singer/actress’ tour with the Jonas Brothers, gave an interview implying that she would seek legal damages against the singer. Lovato’s camp reached out to Karpel after he shared that he would file a motion “in the next seven to 10 days” for alleged assault and battery. While it appears that the two are working to settle the situation, in an interview Monday, Welch explained she just wanted the “Sonny With a Chance” star to say she was sorry for the incident. “To this day, I haven’t gotten an apology. I’ve heard nothing,” Welch explained. “That’s sad if you think that person is your friend.” Related Artists Demi Lovato

Johnny Depp On A ’21 Jump Street’ Cameo: ‘I’m In!’

‘I’ve said I’m into it, but no one’s actually approached me,’ Depp tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Johnny Depp Photo: MTV News Here’s what we know: Jonah Hill has penned a cameo for Johnny Depp in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of “21 Jump Street.” Depp, who starred as Officer Tom Hanson in the ’80s TV series on which Hill’s flick is based, is open to the idea of popping up in the movie , telling MTV News last year, “If we find the right thing to do, it could be very funny.” Here’s what we don’t know: Why haven’t Hill and Depp been in contact about the possibility? Because as we learned while Depp was promoting “The Tourist” in Paris last week, he hasn’t heard a peep about “21 Jump Street.” “I’ve said I’m into it, but no one’s actually approached me,” he told us. As recently as last month, Hill said he’s still hoping Depp will sign up for a part — “Just do it, dude. Don’t be an a–hole,” he joked — but as of now, Depp remains in the dark. “Call him. I’m in. I’m in,” Depp said. “I think it’d be pretty easy.” There’s no word if Depp would reprise his role as Hanson or step into a new part, but Hill has told us in the past the film won’t be a spoof of the original show but a “a hard-core, R-rated movie” that focuses on the fish-out-of-water scenario of cops returning to high school to pose as students in the name of undercover investigative work. “What happens is, they get caught up in the high school-ness as opposed to the police work,” he said last year. “And whenever they get too caught up in the high school drama, police work comes in. And whenever they get too caught up in the police work, high school drama comes in.” Check out everything we’ve got on “21 Jump Street.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . NASA Discovers New Form of Life

Hours before their special news conference today, the cat is out of the bag: NASA has discovered a completely new life form that doesn't share the biological building blocks of anything currently living in planet Earth. This changes everything. At their conference today, NASA scientist Felisa Wolfe Simon will announce that they have found a bacteria whose DNA is completely alien to what we know today. Instead of using phosphorus, the bacteria uses arsenic. All life on Earth is made of six components: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. Every being, from the smallest amoeba to the largest whale, share the same life stream. Our DNA blocks are all the same. But not this one. This one is completely different. Discovered in the poisonous Mono Lake, California, this bacteria is made of arsenic, something that was thought to be completely impossible. While she and other scientists theorized that this could be possible, this is the first discovery. The implications of this discovery are enormous to our understanding of life itself and the possibility of finding beings in other planets that don't have to be like planet Earth. No details have been disclosed about the origin or nature of this new life form. We will know more today at 2pm EST but, while this life hasn't been found in another planet, this discovery does indeed change everything we know about biology, and in the astrobiology of the Milky Way and beyond: The universe suddenly becomes alive with potential life forms in the trillions of possible planets in galaxies known and unknown. And that's without counting yesterday's announcement on the discovery of a massive number of red dwarf stars, which may harbor trillion of Earths. http://gizmodo.com/5704158/nasa-finds-new-life added by: pjacobs51

Supported by Obama…Here come the food police!

On Wednesday the U.S. Senate passed Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act. After the recent scandal with eggs, and all of the other food safety issues of recent years (meat, peanut butter, spinach), many people believe this is a positive step – and obviously Senate lawmakers, who voted 75 to 23 to pass SB 510, also think the bill is good. A segment of farm advocates have warned that SB 510 is a severe threat to small farms – and by extension, most raw milk producers – because of the sweeping powers it gives to the Federal Drug Administation (FDA) and the possibility for onerous paperwork and other regulations for farmers added by: congoboy

Federal judge may halt ‘Obamacare’ within weeks

WASHINGTON — As the Obama administration presses ahead with the health care law, officials are bracing for the possibility that a federal judge in Virginia will soon reject its central provision as unconstitutional and, in the worst case for the White House, halt its enforcement until higher courts can rule. The judge, Henry E. Hudson of Federal District Court in Richmond, has promised to rule by the end of the year on the constitutionality of the law’s requirement that most Americans obtain insurance, which takes effect in 2014. Although administration officials remain confident that it is constitutionally valid to compel people to obtain health insurance, they also acknowledge that Judge Hudson’s preliminary opinions and comments could presage the first ruling against the law. “He’s asked a number of questions that express skepticism,” said one administration official who is examining whether a ruling against part of the law would undermine other provisions. “We have been trying to think through that set of questions,” said the official, who insisted on anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case freely. Pope OK’s Condom use only for Male Prostitutes

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/11/20/pope-oks-condoms-in-some-cases-cites-use… Pope Benedict XVI has said that in special cases, such as that of prostitutes trying to prevent HIV infection, condoms could be justified under Catholic ethical thinking, especially if their use leads to an awareness that engaging in such a “banalization of sexuality” is morally harmful. More at the link. —————————— Current.com staff update by sbacker: In a new book Pope Benedict says that the use of condoms to stop the spread of AIDS may be justified in certain cases, a statement that could start of sea change in the Vatican's attitude to condoms. In excerpts published in the Vatican newspaper the pope cites the example of the use of condoms by prostitutes as “a first step toward moralisation” even though condoms are “not really the way to deal with the evil of HIV infection.”While some Roman Catholic leaders have spoken in the past about the limited use of condoms in specific cases to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS as a lesser of two evils, this is the first time the pope has mentioned the possibility himself in public. To justify his change on the matter Pope Benedict caused surprise by taking as his example a male prostitute who used a condom to protect his client. But in so doing he avoided breaching the Catholic church's opposition to artificial contraception as birth control is not an issue in male homosexual relations. But what remained unclear was whether the pope was starting to relax the chur's policy on the use of condoms in heterosexual relations, if only by couples in which one partner was HIV-positive.Last year, the pope caused an international uproar when he told journalists taking him to Africa that condoms should not be used because they could worsen the spread of AIDS.The new book, called Light of the World, is made up of Benedict's responses to questions by German Catholic journalist Peter Seewald over a month of meetings at the papal summer residence. added by: jubal
