Britney Spears’ Tour ‘A Real Buzz’ For Openers Nervo

‘The nerves are gone now, and I just want to own it more,’ Nervo’s Liv tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Jeremy Cowart/ WireImage The Femme Fatale Tour kicked off Thursday night to rave reviews, with critics giving Britney Spears props for her over-the-top stage show. The show is all about the ladies, thanks to opening slots from Nervo , Jessie and the Boy Toys, as well as Nicki Minaj, with Spears acting as the show’s head mistress. MTV News caught up with Liv from the DJ act Nervo on Friday (June 17), nearly 24 hours after their first warm-up gig for Ms. Spears. “I’ve got to say, it was a real buzz for us to open the show; that’s the selfish highlight,” she told MTV News. “We were honored to be there. I thought the crowd got our house music.” Liv had the pleasure of finally seeing Spears in concert for the first time and couldn’t help but rave about her. “I thought she was brilliant. It was my first time seeing Nicki, as well, and she was brilliant,” she said. “I love ‘Slave 4 U.’ I was really happy she was playing her oldies.” When fans first heard that Spears and Minaj would be touring together, no one knew how the two would mesh. But, as it turns out, Liv said they work just perfectly. “They’re both very strong women. Britney was the same old Britney we love,” she said. “They complemented each other.” In fact, there’s a real sense of camaraderie on the road. “The nerves are gone now, and I just want to own it more,” she said. “It really does [feel like girl power]. It’s very exciting. We’re all girls. This business is crazy, and it’s fun we can all be in it together. “It really is a machine. We’ve done RV tours before with club DJs, and this is so far and beyond from the RV tours,” she said. “The catering is insane; three-course meals, three times a day. I’ve never seen what it takes to be a part of one of these pop shows, and it takes so much work. It’s full on. It’s great. It’s amazing that she can take it all in stride all these years later.” Will you be checking out Britney’s latest tour? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Britney Spears

Selena Gomez Does Her Best Britney On ‘Whiplash’

Teen star channels the pop titan as Spears-penned dance tune from Gomez’s album leaks to the Net. By James Dinh Selena Gomez Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage It’s a good thing Selena Gomez is feeling much better after her hospitalization last week because the Disney starlet has a string of gigs lined up to promote her soon-to-be-released album, When the Sun Goes Down. And while the LP doesn’t hit stores until June 28, some of the tracks have already surfaced on the Internet, including “Whiplash,” which MTV News has confirmed was co-written by Britney Spears . Gomez, who has gushed to us about her Spears fandom, shows off her best impersonation of the pop princess on “Whiplash.” The dance number begins with sonic flares and effects as the teen songstress sings about a blossoming romance. Gomez then adds a twist to the song by saying a number of phrases in a thick British accent before the pulsating chorus kicks in. “Come on and take me to the other side/ I’m gonna wait, when I look into your eyes,” she croons. “I’m so in love, I think I’m going to crash/ And get whiplash, whiplash, whiplash.” “Whiplash” was reportedly a track that failed to make the cut on Spears’ comeback album, Circus. Among the other songs leaked from When the Sun Goes Down are “That’s More Like It” and “We Own the Night.” Fans will get to see Selena doing more Britney when she tackles some of the pop star’s classic hits on her upcoming tour. Earlier this year, Gomez told MTV News that she was thinking about paying tribute to the singer with “a mash-up of some of her songs.” The Disney starlet and hard-core Britney fan revealed that she looked at Spears’ entire discography in decided what tunes to cover. “We’re gonna do a little tribute. We’re gonna do her hits, ‘ … Baby One More Time,’ and then I think we’re going to try to incorporate ‘Toxic’ and that phase,” she said. “And then we might do some of her recent, new stuff.” Have you heard “Whiplash”? Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj And Ke$ha ‘Till The World Ends’ Remix Leaks

Reworked tune features an opening verse by Minaj as Ke$ha sings atop Spears’ vocals throughout the song. By James Dinh Britney Spears “Til The World Ends” Photo: Jive Britney Spears isn’t the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale ‘s second single, “Till the World Ends.” The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the star’s websites . Mixing the dance tune’s original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: “A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin’, but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they’d revive your career, but somebody lied/I ain’t talkin’ poultry when I say this chicken’s fried.” After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song’s first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. “It’s Britney, bitch. I’m Nicki Minaj and that’s Ke$ha!” the Young Money MC proclaims. Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track’s chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer’s lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the “Till the World Ends” remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break. News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted , “@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!” Have you heard the all-star “Till The World Ends” remix? Foo Fighters Claim First #1 Album With Wasting Light

Adele’s 21 holds steady at #2, with Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale dropping to #6. By Gil Kaufman Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Photo: Lester Cohen/ WireImage It’s hard to believe that after more than a decade and a half and six studio albums, the Foo Fighters have never had a #1 album. But that historical anomaly will be corrected on next week’s Billboard albums chart when the group’s latest, Wasting Light , hits the top spot thanks to sales of 235,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. That is more than twice the amount sold by the #2 album, Adele ‘s still-strong 21, which slips down a notch to #2 as sales tick up 5 percent to 93,000. The Foos lead a cavalcade of new faces in the top 10, with reunited bluegrass icons Alison Krauss & Union Station coming in at #3 with Paper Airplane (83,000), folk-rock icon Paul Simon debuting at #4 with So Beautiful or So What, (68,000) and Spanish rockers Mana at #5 with Drama Y Luz (47,000). British pop sensation Jessie J just missed out on a top 10 debut, sliding in at #11 with Who You Are, which sold 34,000 copies. The rest of the top 10: Britney Spears ‘ Femme Fatale (#6, 43,000, down 43 percent), Songs for Japan (#7, 37,000), Wiz Khalifa ‘s Rolling Papers (#8, 37,000), Chris Brown ‘s F.A.M.E. (#9, 35,000), and Mumford & Sons ‘ Sigh No More (#10, 35,000). Hipster rock faves TV on the Radio return with Nine Types of Light (#12, 32,000), while indie rap duo Atmosphere hit #13 with The Family Sign (28,000). One of the week’s biggest drops comes courtesy of the CD version of Radiohead ‘s King of Limbs, which plunges 71 percent in its second round on the chart, falling 20 spots to #23 on sales of 19,000. Also charting was the latest solo album from Animal Collective member Panda Bear , Tomboy, which climbed in at #29 (18,000). It was all Foos on the iTunes chart, where Wasting Light topped the album tally, followed by Adele, Songs for Japan, Krauss, Mumford, Simon, Jessie J, TV on the Radio, Spears and Atmosphere. Katy Perry’s run on the iTunes singles chart continues, as her “E.T.” collabo with Kanye West sat atop the list, followed by Rihanna’s “S&M” remix with Spears, the Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough,” Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” Rounding out the list are Jeremih with 50 Cent and “Down on Me,” Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song,” Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor,” Chris Brown’s “Look at me Now” and Spears’ “Till the World Ends.” Look for things to stand pretty pat next week when the new faces will include the Glee: The Music — Presents the Warblers collection and the Gorillaz ‘ iPad album , The Fall . Britney Spears ‘Till The World Ends’ Bollywood Remix Hits Web

The Femme Fatale singer takes to Twitter to encourage fans to ‘check out this incredible … remix.’ By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Max Morse/Getty Images Last week, Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” got the Bollywood treatment when Indian composers Salim-Sulaiman remixed her feel-good disco track. Now, Britney Spears is feeling the Indian love from entertainment website Desi Hits! and the Culture Shock production team, who put their Bollywood-style spin on “Till the World Ends.” “Check out this incredible Desihits remix of Till The World Ends. I LOVE it!!!” Britney tweeted on Monday about the track. The swirling take on Spears’ hit tune boasts a “Punjabi breakdown” section that features some South Asian-sounding vocals from Culture Shock’s Lomaticc and Sunny Brown. The track includes some added Desi flavors courtesy of dholki, dhol and tumbi beats, which are common in Indian music. “Our goal was to take Britney’s smash hit single and give fans a total Desi adrenaline rush,” Culture Shock’s Baba Kahn explained. “The result is a Culture Shock musical Desi roller coaster that hopefully everyone around the world will want to join.” It seems that Spears’ camp was crucial in orchestrating the remix. “We wanted to build an even greater connection between the world’s biggest pop star and one of the world’s largest audiences,” Mark Flaherty, senior vice president of Jive Label Group, says of the reimagined tune. “Britney has been engaged with South Asian culture for many years. From the groundbreaking Bollywood-inspired remix of ‘Me Against the Music’ to her recent collaboration with Indian fashion designers Falguni and Shane Peacock on the ‘Hold It Against Me’ video, she has embraced the incredible sights and sounds of this vibrant community throughout her career.” The original version of “Till the World Ends,” the second single from Britney’s Femme Fatale album, was produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Billboard. At last look, the tune held the #8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Are you loving the Bollywood-style “Till the World Ends” remix? Tell us in the comments. Adele Back At #1 On Billboard Chart, Pushing Britney Spears To #2

Spears drops to #2 as sales of Femme Fatale trail off in second week. By Gil Kaufman Adele’s 21 Photo: Columbia Records It’s a bit early to call it a changing of the guard, but British songbird Adele will make a strong case that she is a major force to be reckoned with on the Billboard charts next week when her album 21 retakes the #1 spot. Thanks to sales of 88,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Adele pulls the feat off — her fourth non-consecutive week at #1 since the album’s release in late February — while forcing last week’s #1, Britney Spears ‘ Femme Fatale , down to #2. Spears’ highly anticipated new effort suffers a steep drop-off in its second chart cycle , plunging 73 percent on sales of 75,000, for a two-week total of 352,000. In contrast, Adele has pushed past the 1 million mark in seven weeks to notch the best-selling album of 2011 to date. Also losing a significant amount (70 percent) of business in its second week is rapper Wiz Khalifa ‘s Rolling Papers , which falls three spots to #5 on sales of 59,000. Masked rap-rock crew Hollywood Undead scored their best chart debut ever with American Tragedy, which comes in at #4 (66,000), while little-known metalers Asking Alexandria come in at #9 on sales of 31,000. The rest of the top 10: Radiohead , King of Limbs (#3, 67,000); Chris Brown , F.A.M.E. (#6, 51,000); the iTunes Songs for Japan compilation (#7, 51,000); Mumford & Sons ‘ Sigh No More (#8, 34,000); and Kirk Franklin ‘s Hello Fear (#10, 31,000). Jennifer Hudson ‘s I Remember Me slips four spots to #11 as sales dip 46 percent to 31,000, while Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former Band member Robbie Robertson scores a #13 debut (22,000) for How to Become Clairvoyant, his first studio album in 13 years. Rapper Jim Jones hits #20 with the debut of his latest, Capo (21,000), indie faves The Kills come in at #37 with Blood Pressures (13,000), and superstar DJ Ti
