China Buried in Sandstorm: Raw Video

Sandstorms blasted regions in northern China on Sunday (April 25), leaving a blanket of dust over areas in Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia and Jilin province on Monday (April 26), state media reported. Dust filled skies lowered visibility to just two metres over the weekend and a cold front sweeping northern China is likely to bring strong winds and low temperatures for the next two days, the China Meterological Administration said. Strong winds caused fires to spread rapidly, killing three people and seriously injuring one, CCTV reported. The winds blowing over central and eastern Inner Mongolia could reach speeds of around 50 km per hour, the weather report said, causing temperatures to drop by 10 degrees Celsius in some areas. Spring snows have added to farming troubles in Inner Mongolia, which saw its worst winter in 50 years. China's officials warned those in the affected regions to take precautions against more severe weather expected to hit the region. added by: ctv

Jesery Shore Trash in Bikinis in Miami of the Day

I am just happy they kept Snooki wrapped the fuck up…..these are some really sloppy fucking girls…the kind of girls you know you can hustle in the club, not just because they are throwing up all over themselves, but because they aren’t hot, even though they think they are. Seriously, they all look like half-retarded dogs and the funniest thing about them is that they a huge part of their jobs is to rock out in a bikini all day, despite none of them really having a decent bikini body, not even the one with implants. I feel like I’m watching the beach day at the trailer park or some shit. There is nothing cool, or good about this, excpet maybe that there’s a risk for all of them to collectively drown….. I didn’t know girls still dressed like this, and I would know, I live amongst poor, drunk, white trash and see them out everyday, and even they have more style than this Jersey shit…even the most gutter of strippers looks and dresses better than this, and America needs to stop these latch on pigs as they rock out in Florida for their new season about a month after Spring Break, or as they like to call it, the holiest week of the year….when the only people in Miami are Cubans, Old people and little dying kids on their make-a-wish foundation dream trips…. Here are the disgusting pics….it’s so irritating that these bitches don’t realize that they are actually fucking hideous….but at least they are in the bikini…..even though they represent everything wrong in society…. Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard: A History With The Seattle Mariners

From childhood fandom to playing at Monday’s home opener, Gibbard shares his Mariners memories. By James Montgomery Ben Gibbard Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images The tale of Death Cab for Cutie performing at the Seattle Mariners’ home opener on Monday is actually an act in three parts, starring avowed baseball nut (and DCFC frontman) Ben Gibbard. It’s a story of soaring highs and crushing lows, plus amazing feats of skill. It’s such an epic adventure that we figured it would be best if Gibbard told it himself. Here’s the first act, in which our intrepid hero embarrasses himself at a Mariners/ White Sox game in September 2008. They asked me to throw out the first pitch, and, of course, I said yes. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I have a pretty good arm. I’m not like a 90-mph fastball kind of guy, but I can hit 70 on a radar gun. I hit 70 one time on a radar gun at one of those pitch-and-throw kind of things. … I have a pretty good arm for somebody who’s not a baseball player … so before the game, I’m down in the catacombs of Safeco Field, and they got a ball girl out there, and I’m throwing curves, I’m throwing sh–ty knucklers, I’m throwing from the full 60-feet-6 inches. … I’m just smoking it in there. So I was like, “OK, I’m not going to try and throw it as hard as I can, but I don’t want to throw one of those lollipop first pitches.” So I go out there, and I’m on a mound, and there’s like 30,000 people out there, and also, I hadn’t thrown in, like, 10 minutes. … I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll throw a four-seamer, just throw it right in there.” And then I start second-guessing my grips. I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll throw a two-seamer instead.” And I threw to [Mariners pitcher] Ryan Rowland-Smith, and I threw it and it was low and outside. It just went to the backstop. … I felt like such a dumbass. So after, Ryan Rowland-Smith is signing the ball for me, and he’s like, “Throwing the heat, huh?” And I was so embarrassed. And now, the second act, which also took place in 2008 and saw Gibbard redeem himself with a rather amazing act of dexterity: In the spring of 2008, I went to a Mariners game with my mom. And a foul ball comes into the stands, and I catch it with my hat. I have the video to prove it. I’m not making this up. … The ball comes into the crowd … and I’m like, “Uh-oh, look out,” and I caught it with my hat. It was amazing. You think of that moment happening every time you go to a game, ever since you were a little kid. So I had our management contact the Mariners, so they could get me the footage, because I know no one would believe me. I have it on my phone to show people, because they will never believe me. All of that led to up to last Monday, when Gibbard once again set foot on his field of dreams, to perform a medley of baseball-themed hits — John Fogerty’s “Centerfield” and a somber version of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” — joined by his Death Cab mates. We’re not going to lie to you, there was a lot riding on the performance — and Gibbard was understandably nervous. I mean, [the Mariners] had been floating this idea of us performing since last year, and I always said I would do it. I’ve loved the team since I was a little kid. I got [former Mariners slugger] Alvin Davis’ autograph when I was, like, 9, when he was on the ferry. This was ingrained in who I am. So, yeah, I was kind of nervous. But we went out there and played, and it was great, man. It was sort of like all the things I like the most, aligning into one. Since it was opening day, it was a big production. There were fireworks, and they had set up a little stage behind home plate. We played, and it was pretty amazing. I would definitely do it again. So there you go. Ultimate redemption. Dreams coming true. Who said baseball isn’t a magical game? Related Videos MTV Rough Cut: ‘Kick-Ass’ Related Artists Death Cab For Cutie

‘Glee’ ‘s Sue Sylvester Dons Madonna Cone Bra For ‘Vogue’

‘It’s the most powerful I’ve ever felt in my life,’ Jane Lynch says of wearing iconic look. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Jane Lynch in the “Glee” re-creation of Madonna’s “Vogue” music video Photo: FOX The “Glee” club is taking next week’s “The Power of Madonna” episode (airing April 20) very seriously. Not only are they performing songs like “Vogue,” but they also made their own shot-by-shot re-creation of the iconic video , starring Cheerios Coach Sue Sylvester, which premiered online on Tuesday night. “I do the ‘Vogue’ video in the Madonna episode, and we replicated everything down to the set pieces, the hair pieces, the wardrobe, the lighting,” Jane Lynch revealed to MTV News earlier this week at the party for the “Glee” spring premiere . “It’s in black and white, and you’re gonna love it. It’s amazing.” And while it is surprising to see Sue Sylvester in anything but her signature track suit, she found a way to make sure she gets the best of both worlds elsewhere in the episode. “Oh, yeah, the cone bra, the Gaultier bra, I wear that in one scene. And it’s the most powerful I’ve ever felt in my life,” she dished. “Well, you know what, I wore the cone bra with the track suit, so it worked. It was a win, win.” Not only will Lynch be channeling her inner Madge, she promises that she’ll also be just as scary as ever for the rest of the season. “She terrorizes everybody, still. She gets inappropriate with a bunch of guys. There’s a lot of sexual blackmail,” she explained. “She does a little singing with Olivia Newton John. She gets put in her place in a very interesting, cruel ways by Mr. Will Schuester himself. He gets kind of rough with her, and he really hurts her feelings.” What do you think of Sue Sylvester’s Madonna impression? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos It’s The Return Of ‘Glee’! Tim Urban’s ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ Wows ‘American Idol’ Judges

‘I can’t help falling in love with you, ‘ Ellen DeGeneres tells Urban after his Elvis cover. By Josh Wigler Tim Urban on “American Idol” Tuesday Photo: Fox Sometimes, it’s not always wisest to listen to words of wisdom; sometimes, it’s best to have faith in your own instincts. Such was the case with Texas-born Tim Urban on Tuesday night’s (April 13) “American Idol” when the singer lent his signature soulful voice to a subdued rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” during the latest round of competition. Season-eight finalist Adam Lambert served as the guest mentor for the Elvis-themed competition, urging Urban to tap into his falsetto voice for the conclusion of the song. But Urban resisted the advice and relied instead on his familiar tenor tone — a decision that clearly paid off, as his performance resulted in an outpouring of praise from the judges. “This may surprise you,” veteran judge Randy Jackson began, “but I actually liked it!” Ellen DeGeneres, in typically comical fashion, likened Urban’s “American Idol” trajectory to her first time drinking tequila — she had to take one shot, then another and another still before she decided that she liked it. In Urban’s case, the singer/guitarist struggled through several weeks in the bottom three before emerging so strongly with the night’s performance. “I can’t help falling in love with you, ” DeGeneres said at the conclusion of her appraisal. Kara DioGuardi told Urban that this was her “favorite Tim performance ever. It was authentic, real and from your heart.” She also commented on the fact that Urban remained seated through his performance, saying: “You didn’t have to do a lot — you didn’t have to move all over the stage — because it was that meaningful.” Urban’s performance was so well-received that even outgoing judge Simon Cowell paid the singer a high compliment, telling Urban that he went from “zero to hero in two weeks.” What did you think of Tim Urban’s performance on “American Idol”? ‘Glee’ Premiere Recap: The Gleeks Say ‘Hell-O’

The hit show returns with a few surprises. Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele in Tuesday’s “Glee” Photo: Carin Baer/ Fox Ladies and gentlemen, “Glee” is back . And with it, the seemingly impossible task of living up to the already sky-high levels of hype leveled upon it during the show’s ultra-long hiatus. Well, you can rest easy knowing that in “Hell-O,” creator Ryan Murphy and his writers crafted a well-paced, clever episode of their Golden Globe-winning comedy that culminated in a musical number set to the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye.” What’s changed at McKinley High since New Directions won regionals in December? Well, although Kurt, Mercedes and Rachel had hoped everything would be different, three slurpees to the face on their first day back proved otherwise. Sue Sylvester regained control of the Cheerios, thanks to a well-timed roofie that allowed her to take some very compromising photos of her in bed with Principal Figgins. (The track suit stayed on.) There were a few modifications to the school’s social hierarchy: The end of football season meant Finn’s now a basketball star. Puck started dating Quinn even though she was getting fat (“I’m pregnant,” she helpfully tried to explain). And thanks to Rachel’s take-charge attitude (and a cat-themed relationship calendar), the Finn/Rachel romance was now official. To her, at least. Sue enlisted Cheerio spies Brittany and Santana to help wreak havoc on New Directions by getting Finn to dump his new girlfriend. Since he was in the middle of a post-being-cheated-on life crisis (which he worked through by singing the Doors’ “Hello, I Love You”), he was eager to drop his domineering new girlfriend (who expressed her rage via the All-American Rejects’ “Give You Hell”) when Brittany and Santana asked him on a date. With both of them. It didn’t really go as Finn imagined, however, when the ladies spent the date gossiping about him as he sat on the other side of the restaurant booth. He realized his mistake and tried to get Rachel back, but it was too late — she’d already met someone else. Vocal Adrenaline star Jesse St. James, played by Lea Michele’s “Spring Awakening” co-star Jonathan Groff, picked Rachel up as she perused Lionel Richie sheet music at a local store. The hilariously cocky senior (“This is one of my favorite haunts. I like to come and flip through the celebrity biographies, pick up some lifestyle tips”) wooed Rachel with a duet on “Hello,” then asked her out. The rest of New Directions forced Rachel to break up with Jesse (thanks to another Sue Sylvester scheme) — but she couldn’t do it, and decided to date him in secret (Sue strikes again: “I am engorged with venom, and triumph”). When they sealed their new relationship with a kiss under the heat of Vocal Adrenaline’s 10-times-more-powerful-than-normal spotlight (sunscreen is required for use), VA’s director looked on with a knowing smile. While it’s unclear whether Shelby Corcoran, played by Broadway star Idina Menzel, truly was in on a nefarious plan to infiltrate New Directions, she embarked on her own McKinley affair when Mr. Schuester came to speak to her (as Vocal Adrenaline sang AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”), only to wind up making out on his couch. Though she told him to call her back when he figured out what he wanted in a relationship, it was great to meet Will Schuester the player — finally, another side of the perpetual nice guy. The other women in Mr. Schu’s tangled romantic web, Terri and Emma, had a showdown when Terri stopped by to pick up her Bruckheimer DVDs as Emma prepared a surprise romantic dinner. While Emma thought “Hello” from “The Jazz Singer” was her and Will’s song, Terri informed the guidance counselor that it was her and Will’s junior prom theme, which Emma verified in that year’s Thunderclap yearbook. This revelation, combined with Emma’s admission that she’d never been intimate with anyone, ever, led her to give Will the same “Call me when you figure yourself out” message as Shelby.
