Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg Confirmed for Woody Allen’s Untitled Rome Film

Looks like Woody Allen is taking advice from our very own Louis Virtel, who just last week suggested the prolific director cast Ellen Page in one of his next projects. Page will join Jesse Eisenberg, Alec Baldwin, and Penelope Cruz in Allen’s untitled Rome-set film , to begin production this summer. The film will be Allen’s 42nd feature film. Will Page play a Mariel Hemingway-type, as Louis suggests, with Eisenberg as Allen’s neurotic onscreen stand-in? Cast your own speculations below.[ Variety ]

New Thor Clip: Chris Hemsworth’s Achilles’ Heel is Apparently in His Butt

The trailer made it look like Thor was mostly about Chris Hemsworth fighting huge monsters. But every clip that Paramount releases makes the movie look like a comedy about a guy who brags about his strength and power, only to get knocked out by a puny weapon. That movie actually sounds kind of fun! Last week we saw the mighty Thor face off against a wrathful, unforgiving taser . Now watch him meet the hypodermic needle of doom. Oh right, you also get a decent glimpse of Hemsworth’s butt. Enjoy, ladies.

When Gadgets Attack: Cautionary Films for the Tech-Dependent

Last week, Apple enthusiasts made the terrifying discovery that some iPhone 4 devices were surreptitiously taking photos of their users, then posting said spy pics during FaceTime calls without having been told to do so. Have smart phones become too smart ? Is our collective dependence on rapidly evolving technology setting the stage for a SkyNet future? Movieline revisits the sinister history of gadgets and technology gone wrong in the movies for clues as to where and when the robot wars might begin — and, hopefully, how humanity might be able to fight back.

VIDEO: Watch Thor Get Cosmic And Then Blow The Crap Out Of A Fake New Mexico Town

As far as Marvel Studios’ summer superhero movies go, it seems like there might be a clear set of preconceived notions already coagulating into stone. Captain America ? Looks like it might be a retro-adventure movie like Indiana Jones ! X-Men: First Class ? The trailer looked cool, but the posters are objectively vomit-inducing, so we’re cautiously optimistic. Thor , on the other hand, seems to have already been declared DOA by the geek brigade. But this behind the scenes look on the set in New Mexico might start to change their minds.
