Ron Paul Suspends Active Campaigning in Future Primaries; Will Continue Delegate Strategy

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul announced Monday that his campaign will no longer spend money on future nominating contests due to lack of funds. Ron Paul is the final challenger to Mitt Romney still running at all. The Texas Congressman wrote the following letter to supporters: “Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.” “Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would require tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.” The 76-year-old Paul encouraged his legion of supporters to continue their efforts in the presidential race as well as down-ballot races across the country and stressed that he will continue working to win delegates. “In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned,” Paul wrote. Two weeks ago, Paul and his supporters cheered the candidate’s delegate wins in Maine and Nevada, but as Yahoo News reported, those wins didn’t necessarily move Paul any closer to winning his party’s nomination. Paul has long touted a strategy to rack up delegates as a way to become a part of this summer’s convention process, absent an outright win. In any case, he is not dropping out of the race in the absolute sense, just no longer actively spending money in the remaining GOP contests. How many delegates Ron Paul continues to win during state delegations and what role that gives him at the RNC remains to be seen. Whatever happens, he’s left an indelible mark on the race.

Kristen Stewart is an A-list movie star who has two blockbusters on the way in 2012: Snow White and the Huntsman , and Breaking Dawn Part 2 . But that doesn’t mean the actress finds her life especially exciting. “I didn’t go to f-cking school, I feel I would have had a bit something extra if I had,” she tells the latest issue of Elle . “Maybe because my life is so f-cking perfect, when I see the other side of life, it just seems like, almost like I want… “You can learn so much from bad things. I feel boring. I feel like, Why is everything so easy for me? I can’t wait for something crazy to f-cking happen to me. Just life. I want someone to f-ck me over! Do you know what I mean?” Well… no. Not exactly. We don’t wake up next to Robert Pattinson every morning. Among other topics touched on by Kristen in the interview: Her top books : “East of Eden is my favorite, it’s big, and then Cannery Row. I’ve read them all. Have you ever read Lie Down In Darkness? I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life. I want to play her so bad.” On riding horses as Snow White : “I hated it. I didn’t take to the whole mentality of f-cking ordering that thing around – ‘Go now!’ You have to be an asshole, basically. Not to say that horse people are assholes to their horses. But you have to basically tell that thing who’s boss, and I didn’t want to do that. I was like, ‘No, do your thing. I don’t even want to be up here.'” Wearing contact lenses for The Twilight Saga : “It’s like I always have sunglasses on – soulless, googly-eyed sunglasses. You can’t feel your eyeballs. They ruined me.”

Kristen Stewart Admits She’s ‘Overtly Aware’ Of Her Insecurities

During ‘MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman,’ actress confesses, ‘My palms are sweating right now.’ By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Josh Horowitz, Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin on “MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: MTV News On Tuesday night’s “MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman,” MTV News’ Josh Horowitz caught up with Kristen Stewart , Chris Hemsworth , Charlize Theron and Sam Claflin to get the juicy details behind their highly anticipated summer flick. The cast was in good spirits as Horowitz took them through a series of rapid-fire questions known as the “Yes/No Show” and Theron joked about how battling her costumes was more difficult than fighting Stewart. But the actors also discussed the more serious topic of insecurities and their perception of beauty. As the underlying message of the film deals with the notion of beauty and outward appearance, Horowitz asked, “[As actors,] are you naturally vain people? Can you look in the mirror and not feel insecure like the rest of us?” He threw the question to Hemsworth, who replied, “I think we all have our insecurities and whatever. Do I like who I see in the mirror? Yeah, I like myself because I feel like I’m a good person, and I think in the film, the Queen is there and obsessed with beauty on the surface. I think the message is it’s what’s underneath that counts and that’s what’s going to survive and conquer at the end of the day.” Hemsworth’s co-star Stewart was thrust into the spotlight upon her unexpected “Twilight Saga” fame. With her privacy invaded and gossip blogs picking apart every outfit and hairstyle choice, you’d think the actress would get wrapped up in her insecurities. But the actress said she’s feels secure in herself and Theron echoed that sentiment: “You are,” the “Young Adult” actress said of Stewart. “I can say that. Seriously, it’s incredible. I never had that at her age.” And while Stewart still gets nervous like the rest of us, she gives credit to her parents for raising her well and teaching her that self-worth doesn’t come from appearances. “I’m still fully and completely overtly aware of my insecurities. My palms are sweating right now,” she said. “I was raised well. My parents are really great. They’ve always told me the right things about how you should feel — I mean, there’s no should. That was the whole thing: ‘Be yourself, baby doll.’ ” Theron chimed in: “And, in a way, the film almost has that because Snow White’s mother basically tells her, ‘What you have here is special and good, and don’t ever lose that.’ And it’s the encouragement of ‘Be a good a person.’ And Ravenna, the evil queen, has a mother that basically tells her the only way you will survive in this world is through beauty and youth. “I think those are the things that guide you in a way, so if you’re being told that, and you go through life having that be the importance of your existence or your success, than that’s what it’s going to be.” In the movie, Ravenna says that men use women and then discard them. Theron said that while those words might not mirror her view on men, it was some of her favorite writing in the script, and she feels the sentiment rings true for a lot of women. “I thought it was incredibly brave, because you’re kind of putting yourself out there to create and say pretty early on in the film that this character is driven by this belief that she has,” she explained. “But I thought it was really truthful for her , and I do think that is the truth for a lot of people. “I think that there will be women who have experienced that sometimes in their life. I don’t think everyone has the same experiences, but I felt like that was very truthful for Ravenna. You know, this idea that at 8, she’s being given to a king, and by 16, she’s already being replaced by somebody else. How can you come from that world and not think that men only use you for a certain period of time and then they’re done with you?” Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Dianna Agron Promises ‘Surprising Moments’ At ‘Glee’ Prom

‘This prom is very different from last year’s,’ actress tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Dianna Agron Photo: MTV News “Glee” is gearing up for the senior prom. In the highly anticipated episode, the McKinley High School seniors will be dressing to the nines to celebrate the milestone night on Tuesday’s (May 8) episode. With only three episodes left until the big season finale, this will surely be a night to remember before the seniors put on those caps and gowns for graduation. No prom would be complete without a theme, and that’s where Heather Morris’ character Brittany came in. She picked the very unique theme of dinosaurs, making this not a regular prom but a “prom-asaurus.” “Glee” star Dianna Agron stopped by MTV News last month and gave us a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the big bash. “We had Eric Stoltz back with us, who directed last year’s — he’s really fun and really knows teenage life. That prom episode last year really felt like ‘Pretty in Pink’ and ‘Sixteen Candles’ — it had that awesome touch to it,” Agron said. “This prom is very different from last year’s. It wasn’t some of our last year, and there wasn’t really that thought process like that this might be one of the last moments together, so that’s all really incorporated in this year’s. There’s a fun theme to it; there’s some really surprising moments. I think people will like it.” Even though there is a dinosaur theme, unfortunately no one will actually be playing that part, even though Agron said she “wishes” she could have. However, the actress is just excited to re-create prom night, which she admits was very different from her own prom experience. “We went with all of our friends, so it wasn’t really so much of ‘let’s have a romantic date.’ There were about 25 of us who just said, ‘OK pick somebody,’ ” Agron revealed. “And we all went in a bus and we all had dinner before. It was just really fun and a lot of dancing.” Another thing that will be different at the “Glee” prom, of course, is the music. The cast will appropriately be taking on Ke$ha ‘s “Dinosaur.” Lea Michele will be tackling Fergie ‘s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and the New Directions will be taking on One Direction with their cover of “What Makes You Beautiful.” “We met them when we were on ‘X Factor,’ like a year and a half ago in London,” Agron said of meeting the boy band. “They were so sweet, so cute. They were very cheeky, and now I’ve heard two of their songs, very catchy.” Are you excited for the prom episode of “Glee”? Let us know in the comments.
