A new pro-Newt Gingrich ad airing in Iowa warns voters in advance of the Jan. 3 caucuses not to let the “liberal Republican establishment pick” a presidential candidate. The ad is from pro-Gingrich super PAC Winning Our Future, which can spend unlimited funds as long as it doesn’t coordinate with him directly. That’s not shady at all. The 30-second spot touts Newt’s conservative credentials, accusing the Republican establishment of “attacking him with falsehoods” and outspending him 20-to-1. Newt Gingrich 20-to-1 Ad Pretty funny in a way that a PAC that would obviously outspend Mitt Romney 20-to-1 if it could is lamenting its own underfunded status, but that’s Newt for you. On the flip side, he does have a point. The establishment does have some clout, but given the fluidity of this race, the conservative base is much broader. Obviously the average voter isn’t too swayed by what the powers that be tell them to be. But will voters come out to support Newt, or is he fading fast?

Gokey – who lost his wife to complications from congenital heart disease three years ago and started a charity, Sophia’s Heart Foundation, in her honor – will tie the knot with Leyicet Peralta in late January. “We are thankful for so many of the blessings God has given us,” the couple wrote this week on the Sophia’s Heart Foundation website, announcing their engagement. “It is our desire to see homeless children and families be kept together and lifted back on their feet through the help of Sophia’s Heart. Her latest rant surrounds Muslim infiltration of the U.S. Jackson, on her web talk show this week, claimed the United States is being overtaken by radical Muslims bent on bringing the nation under Sharia law. Seriously. Citing insider knowledge, she said the following: “I just went to a briefing in Washington DC, across the street from the Capitol, at the Longworth building at 8:30 am two days ago and it changed my life.” “For six hours, I saw pictures and names and dates and facts and Islamic law books and Korans, Surahs for six hours and they proved to me that the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated our highest positions in government and this is serious.” “Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are the only GOP candidates to acknowledge the above facts and warn against the present threat of Islamic Law replacing the U.S. Constitution. Very few people in America are informed and educated as I am.” There you have it folks. “Few people are as informed and educated” as Victoria Jackson. Perhaps she means that ironically, as in she is so ridiculously misinformed, paranoid and uneducated that few people could ever stoop to her level. Eh, probably not. She may not have been able to stop the men at the time but at least she did the right thing coming forward and saying she was sorry. Neither Cynthia or Peter bothered. Actress Nia Long gave birth to a baby boy, Kez Sunday Udoka, this past Monday. According to spokeswoman Priscilla Moralez “both mother and child are healthy and happy to be home.” Spend 24 Hours In Nia’s Hometown! The 41 year old actress has a 1o year old son, Massai Dorsey II from a previous relationship. This is the first child for Long’s partner, NBA player Ime Udoka. In an interview with Ebony Magazine, Nia shared that her doctors were doubtful she could ever conceive another child due to her age, and turned inward for spiritual strength: “I honestly asked God for this. I remember I was driving home from the doctor, and I called [my boyfriend] Ime, and I was like, ‘Babe, I’m really kind of sad right now. The doctor actually said if I wanted to have more children, it would be hard.’ The next time [Ime] came to visit, he said, ‘I don’t believe that.’ I said, ‘You don’t?’ He said, ‘No.’ And I said, ‘Good, me neither.’ Then I got pregnant.” 2011 is turning out to be a banner year for Nia; in addition to her new bundle of joy, she enjoyed rave reviews earlier this year as a loving Muslim mother in the indie hit Mooz-lum, as well as the recent announcement Universal Pictures gave the greenlight for a sequel to 1999′s The Best Man . Isht is REAL in Nigeria… At least 67 people died in a wave of bombings and shootings carried out in northeast Nigeria overnight, officials said Saturday, as frightened mourners left their homes to begin burying their dead. A newspaper says a radical Muslim sect known locally as Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks and has promised to launch new assaults. The Daily Trust, the newspaper of record in Nigeria’s Muslim north, says Boko Haram spokesman Abul-Qaqa spoke to them Saturday and claimed the attacks that have killed at least 67 people in and around Damaturu and Maiduguri. The spokesman told the newspaper: “We will continue attacking federal government formations until security forces stop their excesses on our members and vulnerable civilians.” Boko Haram, whose name means “Western education is sacrilege” in the local Hausa language, has waged an increasingly bloody sectarian fight against Nigeria’s weak central government The latest attacks centered around Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state, Nigerian Red Cross official Ibrahim Bulama said. The attack started Friday with a car bomb exploding outside a three-story building used as a military office and barracks in the city, with many uniformed security agents dying in the blast, Bulama said. Gunmen then went through the town, blowing up a First Bank PLC branch and attacking at least three police stations and some churches, leaving them in rubble, he said. Gunfire continued through the night and gunmen raided the village of Potiskum near the capital as well, witnesses said, leaving at least two people dead there. Like Father, like son… The son of slain U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki was killed in an airstrike along with six other al-Qaida militants, including the media chief of the terror group’s Yemeni branch, tribal elders said Saturday. The elders in the southeastern province of Shabwa where the strike took place identified the son as 21-year-old Abdul-Rahman al-Awlaki. There was no official confirmation of his death from Yemeni authorities. The elders, who spoke Saturday on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisals, said that five of al-Awlaki’s clan were among the seven people killed in the missile attack. The older al-Awlaki, a Muslim preacher and savvy Internet operator who became a powerful al-Qaida recruiting tool, was killed Sept. 30, also in a U.S. drone attack. Earlier, Yemeni officials said Ibrahim al-Bana, the media chief for al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, was among those killed. A Yemeni official described al-Bana as one of the most dangerous militants on their wanted list. Damn, looks like the whole family had targets on their back.
