Earthquake strikes Indonesia

Early Morning of Wednesday, Indoesia experienced a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck off its coasts. Leaving two tsunami and injured people. According to a Simeulue police, the quake lasted for about three to four minutes. No damage has been reported so far. Residents in near coastal areas eventually transferred to higher areas after the quake. U.S Geological Survey reported that temblor struck 125 miles from Sibolga on Sumatra. At 5:15 a.m. (6:15 p.m. ET, Tuesday) a quake hit at a depth of 19.3 miles said USGS. The Pacific Tsunamie Warning Center said that the measurement of sea levels showed that tsunami waves may appear near coast of the epicenter. The chief of the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency said that tsunami in Banyak Island, and Teluk Dalam was not that alarming since the water level was just under a foot high though Tsunami warnings were announced after the quake.
