Summer Walker Replies To Fan’s Meet & Greet Complaint, Says She’s An Empath

Source: Burak Cingi / Getty Summer Walker caught some heat online this weekend after a fan slammed the Over It star for being a little less than friendly at a recent meet and greet event. Walker defended her choice to not touch and hug fans due to the fact that she identifies as an empath. After the unnamed fan’s Instagram post explaining how the meet and greet ruined her perception of the 23-year-old singer, Walker took to Instagram to set the record straight. Lmao Summer is out here scamming the girls. pic.twitter.com/zPrq6dVb7G — aaron. (@aarxnjamal) November 8, 2019 From Summer Walker’s IG: I just want to say to all the fans who purchase meet & greets I really APPRECIATE y’all taking the extra time to meet me and share your stories. I tell everyone individually “thank you”, I spread love, we laugh & I give genuine compliments now for those who’re upset b/c I don’t give hugs idk what to tell you…I’m an empath, and that transference of energy from that many people each day would literally KILL me.. y’all may not understand what I’m talking about but for example… there’s a lot of people out here faking the funk with a smile on their face like they got it together but inside your actually suffering from some sort of traumatic experience, a loss, depressed, fearful, envious or whatever the case may be BUT I CAN FEEL IT. So I ask you please respect my space in those moments Near the top of the month, Walker expressed frustration at the industry and the energies of others in an Instagram post where she declared herself to be just a regular person. Tyler, The Creator Slams Fans Who Booed Drake, Really Likes “Feel No Ways”

More here:

Source: Lars Niki / Getty As you probably heard, Drake was unceremoniously booed this weekend when he performed a surprise set at the Camp Flognaw Music Festival. The man who invited him, Tyler, The Creator , took to Twitter to criticize those who disrespected the 6 God, while also taking some of the blame himself. The crowd had been anticipating an appearance from Frank Ocean, but instead got Drizzy, and as you know, that didn’t go over too well. Writing in all caps, because of course, Tyler broke down what happened and admitted Drake and the crowd wasn’t exactly the best of fits. “I thought bringing one of the biggest artist [sic] on the f*cking planet to a music festival was fire!,” Tyler tweeted. “But flipside, a lil tone deaf knowing the specific crowd it drew. Some created a narrative in their head and acted out like assholes when it didnt [sic] come true and I don’t f*ck with that.” Nevertheless, Tyler went on to express appreciation for Drake holding it down despite the hostile environment. He added, “This n*gga did Feel No Ways! Song is beautiful.” and a “Thank you Aubrey!” later on. He really likes “Feel No Ways.” However, he didn’t let the “fans” off the hook. “Also, mostly everyone was having a great time, those sh*ts in the front area were the ones being mad rude, which, I can see why, but, nah, f*ck that, yall represented me and Flog to my guest and made us look sooo entitled and trash. That sh*t was like mob mentality and cancel culture in real life and I think that sh*t is f*cking trash.” No lies detected. Also, Drake has spoken, to Akademiks. Drake is taking it in stride tho… he told me personally regarding the camp flog gnaw performance it’s a “moment of humility which is always welcomed”. He also added “was just not my night. Wasn’t who they wanted to see”. — DJ Akademiks (@Akademiks) November 11, 2019 Peep Tyler’s full spiel below. I THOUGHT BRINGING ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST ON THE FUCKING PLANET TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE! BUT FLIPSIDE, A LIL TONE DEAF KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DREW. Chamillionaire, E-40 & Daymond John Launch $100K Competition For Minority Or Woman-Owned Startup

Original post:

Source: Bob Levey / Getty Chamillionaire has long made the seamless transition from award-winning musician to savvy businessman and has used his platform to help others achieve their goals. Having done similar contests in the past , the Texas artist will join forces with E-40 and FUBU’s Daymond John to launch a competition that will grant seed money to the next great minority or woman-owned startup. Chamillionaire was on CNBC Monday to discuss the new competition, mentioning in the chat that the trio will be working with equity investment firm Republic as he’s done in times past with E-40. This time, the stakes are higher and the startup has the potential to win $100,000 for their idea or company. While talking with CNBC, Chamillionaire made note that he finds it baffling that venture capitalists claim they can’t find African-American projects to fund, this after he attended the AfroTech conference in Oakland, Ca. this past weekend and came across thousands of tech workers and entrepreneurs of color. Via Cham’s Convoz app, potential contestants can make their pitch and get connected with the judges. Check out Chamillionaire’s CNBC chat below. Salute to him, E-40, Daymond John, and Republic. Following Virginity Comments T.I.’s daughter might be none too pleased about the firestorm of controversy her father caused by commenting on her virginity. As previously reported Tip went viral after he appeared on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast and admitted that he’s interested in making sure his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah remains pure, so much so that actually attends her gynecologist appointments to ensure her hymen is intact. The virginity comments got Tip OBLITERATED on social media by folks who labeled him a misogynist for participating in a patriarchal practice. News reports that she’s unfollowed him altogether on social media. And while it’s unclear when she unfollowed her hymen-pressed papa, Deyjah’s also no longer following her stop mom Tiny or her stepsister Zonnique, as pointed out by Hollywood Unlocked. Walking Guilty Plea Kodak Black Will Be Sentenced On Wednesday

Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty Kodak Black will soon learn exactly how much time he will be receiving. The Florida rapper pleaded guilty to firearm charges and he will be sentenced this week. Per XXL , Black will learn his fate Wednesday, Nov. 13. Back in May, Kodak got pinched when he was on the way to the 2019 Rolling Loud Miami Festival. The Feds accused Kodak of falsifying info on the federal forms he had to fill out to purchase four guns in a Miami-area gun shop on a pair of occasions. Per the Associated Press , Black was able to cop three weapons—a 9 mm handgun, a .380-caliber handgun and a semi-automatic Mini Draco weapon—but one was found at the scene of a March shooting in Pompano Beach. Initially, he pleaded not guilty, but he changed it to guilty when he surely realized the Feds had him dead to rights . Kodak Black is reportedly facing 4 – 20 years per the sentencing guidelines but part of his deal includes prosecutors recommending he get the lower end of the spectrum. Epic Convos: Pharrell Tells Rick Rubin His Feelings On “Blurred Lines” Lawsuit & More (Video)

Source: CHANEL / CHANEL Pharrell Tells Rick Rubin His Feelings On “Blurred Lines” Lawsuit & More (Video) Pharrell Williams is still aging backward and doing all the positive things we’ve become accustomed to expect from him. Earlier this year he had his first annual “Something In The Water Festival” which was well received and even set to come next year with an expansion pack attached. Recent Pharrell team up with GQ for an exclusive editorial and portraits. He is still one of the driving forces and influences at the Adidas powerhouse right beside Kanye West. Usually, we don’t get too many open and honest interviews from Pharrell with his opinion on display on different topics. Thanks to GQ & Rick Rubin we now have an hour-long open form discussion with Pharrell & GQ. The main topic people took away from this interview was his opinion and thoughts on the “Blurred Lines” lawsuit. In which it seems he was faulted for the song “feeling” like another classic. Or as Rolling Stone describes it: In a lengthy legal battle that concluded in 2018, a judge ruled that Pharrell, the song’s producer/co-writer, and singer/co-writer Robin Thicke would have to pay just shy of $5 million to the family of late singer Marvin Gaye over similarities between Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Gaye’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up.” But in the GQ video segment, Pharrell maintains that the two tracks only share a “feeling,” which can’t be copyrighted. The verdict would cause anyone to be upset as it states it shares a “feeling” which cant be copy-written so there shouldn’t be an issue. Pharrell ends up calling the whole thing “his lesson.” Rubin & Williams go on to discuss how trap music’ & salsa music have a similar sound but aren’t the same at all and how the verdict of the case set him back personally. Another interesting take was the trip down memory line in which Rick & Pharrell reminisce how hard it used to be to see Hip-Hop on TV or radio and how the industry tried to suppress the genre until white kids started liking it. Even a slight dive into why Hip-Hop was being suppressed. Overall an amazing open conversation more artists should do. Watch the discussion in its entirety below, the lawsuit talk starts around the 27-minute mark.
