Laurel Griggs, Beloved Broadway Star, Dies at 13

Shocking and truly awful news from the entertainment industry this weekend: Laurel Griggs, an up-and-coming Broadway actress who also appeared twice on Saturday Night Live, died back on November 5. She was 13 years old. At this time, it’s unknown what the cause of her death was, although, a funeral service was held on November 8, according her Dignity Memorial page. Griggs made her Broadway debut in 2013 at age six as Polly in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She’s best known for her role in ONCE opposite Scarlett Johansson, which she performed for 17 months between 2013 and 2015. The play earned a Tony Award. Griggs also starred in the 2016 film Café Society, which also featured Steve Carell, Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively to name a few major names. Moreover, she appeared on Saturday Night Live on two separate occasions. Actress Eliza Holland Madore, who portrayed Ivanka in ONCE expressed her devastation as follows: “I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters. Laurel – you were always smiling and always made other people laugh.” She continued: I’m so incredibly grateful that I got to know you. You will never be forgotten, and we will never stop loving you. Everybody in the Once Family is going to keep you alive through us. R.I.P. My heart goes to her family. Following news of Griggs’ passing, Young Broadway’s Twitter account shared a tribute to the rising star: We are saddened to share that Laurel Griggs passed away this week at the age of 13. Laurel was a brilliant young lady who appeared on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Once. We send our condolences to her loved ones at this difficult time. UPDATE : A Facebook account appearing to belong to Griggs’ grandfather says that the young actress died of a massive asthma attack. “The world lost a real princess who only wanted to make the future happy for all,” this grandfather, David Rivlin, said adding: “Acting was a just a childhood dream come true and she had big plans for the future.” Laurel Griggs, seen here on Saturdya Night Live, has passed away at 13. Celebrity Jeweler Going All Out To Save $400K Bling Theft Case Against Offset (Exclusive)

Source: Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Guven’s Says Offset Promised To Pay For Six Figures In Baubles But Never Did A luxury jewelry company claims rapper Offset disappeared with nearly $400,000 of its bling is going to great lengths to get the rapper in front of a judge. Jeweler Guven’s Fine Jewelry has asked a judge to grant them permission to hire a special process server to go after the Migos’ rapper and husband of Cardi B in order to have their day in court. We exclusively revealed that Guven’s sued the “Clout” rapper earlier this year , accusing him of making off with pricey bling like a platinum diamond necklace with emerald cut diamonds that was appraised at nearly $95,000. According to court papers obtained by BOSSIP, Guven’s said it had an agreement with the Migos member and husband of Cardi B to sell him high-end jewelry. They sent over several pieces, including an 18 karat gold tennis bracelet with 27 round shaped diamonds worth $140,000 and another tennis bracelet – this one platinum – with an emerald cut diamond valued at nearly $40,000. But the jeweler said that although Offset kept the jewels in question, he never paid for them. Source: Hot 97 / Hot 97 Guven said its reps contacted Offset in June to demand payment, but he apparently ignored its demands. The business said it sent a second letter to Offset, but he refused service. In total, Guven says Offset owes it $359,490. The jeweler also included what it said were letters to Offset demanding the jewelry as well as certificates of appraisal made out to him to prove the allegedly pilfered ice was legit. The case has languished as the jeweler has struggled to locate Offset in Georgia in order to serve him with the court papers. Guven’s wants the jewelry back, plus punitive damages and their lawyer’s fees paid. Offset has not yet responded to the suit – likely because he has yet to be served. The judge has yet to rule on Guven’s motion.

SMH: 1 Employee Killed In Shooting Over Counterfeit $100 Bill At Church’s Chicken In San Diego

Source: Karl Tapales / Getty Shooting At Church’s Chicken Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a Church’s Chicken in San Diego, California . The whole incident reportedly happened after the suspected gunman attempted to pay for food using a counterfeit bill. According to reports from NBC San Diego , the shooting occurred at a Church’s located on Picador and Del Sol boulevards in the Otay Mesa community on Wednesday night. Before the shooting, the suspect, who was described by the San Diego Police Department as a “thin man in his 30s,” got into an argument with the employees over his alleged attempted use of a fake $100 bill. There have been conflicting reports around this case, however, about whether or not a counterfeit bill was actually the issue. Other reports have stated that the customer’s grievance was centered around a store policy which prevented the acceptance of any $100 bills outright. Currently investigating shooting at 3700 Picador Blvd. Suspect was a customer who got into argument with employees. Suspect retrieved handgun and fired. 1 employee killed, 2 others injured. Suspect is black male, 30’s, 6-1, thin build, Chargers beanie driving light blue sedan. pic.twitter.com/bMYTAIkQAz — San Diego Police Department (@SanDiegoPD) November 7, 2019 The man is said to have left the restaurant at one point in the argument, just to return “minutes later” and open fire “from across the counter.” Three employees were struck, then the suspect ended up fleeing the scene. One employee ended up dying from injuries sustained during the shooting. Accordint to the  San Diego Union-Tribune , she has been identified as 28-year-old Maribel Ibañez. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection with the fatal shooting.

Besides her candid announcement on Instagram, Solo hasn’t said much about her private split. But you can always count on step-dad Richard Lawson to speak when nobody else in the Knowles-Carter clan does. During the Introduction to the Diverse Perspective event on Sunday, Lawson told Us Weekly that the family is helping Solange get through this difficult time. “[We’re] helping her just work through it. It’s all a process,” the Poltergeist actor said. “And the beautiful thing is, is that everybody comes out the other side is the better for it.” Richard added that Solange and big sister Beyoncé are “probably the best mothers that you have ever seen”. “Tina is the ultimate mother. She’s constantly thinking about helping, supporting, understanding her daughters. And so they have taken up that mantle.” This isn’t Solo’s first gor round on the divorce ride. Back in 2007, she announced her split from husband and baby daddy Daniel Smith , whom she married at just 17 years old. At least sis knows how to follow her heart, and live there.
