Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Erica Mena Posts About Her Plans Not To Vaccinate Her Baby Erica Mena is the latest celeb to get into some trouble with fans over announcing her decision not to vaccinate the baby she’s expecting with husband Safaree Samuels . But people on social media weren’t the only ones concerned with her decision; Erica’s 11-year-old son doesn’t approve of his future baby sister not getting vaccinated, either–and he let his mom know exactly how he felt. The Love & Hip Hop star posted a screenshot of a text conversation with her son King Conde, who she shares with her ex Raul, onto her Instagram story. Throughout the conversation, you see her son trying to convince Mena to rethink her view on not vaccinating. King writes his mom, “just admit youre wrong and give up.” Erica responded, “Don’t talk to your mother like this is disrespectful and not gonna be tolerated.” He came back with a little bit of snark, writing, “oh, I’m sorry for wanting my baby sister to live as healthy as possible. While youre convinced ignoring what right for her is fine? Im sorry for possibly being disrespectful but im only being that way because im passionate about this. I love you.” The screenshot ended with Erica’s message, saying, “Look at you being a great big brother. Source: Tom Williams / Getty Kamala Harris Proposes Controversial Plan To Benefit Working Families According to Fox 8, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris introduced legislation earlier this week that she says would match school hours with work hours to help out working families. The “Family Friendly Schools Act” proposes stretching the school day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Harris released a statement on her proposed bill: “My mother raised my sister and me while working demanding, long hours…So, I know firsthand that, for many working parents, juggling between school schedules and work schedules is a common cause of stress and financial hardship. But, this does not have to be the case. My bill provides an innovative solution that will help reduce the burden of child care on working families. It is time we modernize the school schedule to better meet the needs of our students and their families.” According to the bill, after care programs and summer daycare programs cost the United States economy close to $55 billion. The bill would allegedly “provide grants to local educational agencies to establish ‘‘Family Friendly School’’ policies at 500 elementary schools that align the school day with the work day to better support working families and to disseminate the learnings from these model schools so that other local educational agency’s may adopt these practices, and to establish a supplemental 21st century community learning centers grant program to support programs and activities during summer recess when school is not in session. “

Anteprima NYC Pop Up Showcases Emerging Designers

Fashion Pop Up Shop In NYC Highlighting Up & Coming Designers From Italy A new pop up shop in New York City is highlighting emerging Italian designers from the worlds of fashion, homewares and furniture. The Anteprima pop up shop in SoHo is stocked with vintage mid-century furniture, one of a kind pieces from up and coming Italian fashion brands and household goods traditionally found in family homes in the Mediterranean country. The space includes clothing from designers like Maxfort , whose goal is to make stylish sweaters and outerwear for the men’s big and tall market, and Vanise, which specializes in all things cashmere. Another standout is the belted winter coat from OPI[MO], which is reversible in both charcoal and slate grey. Besides clothing, Anteprima – which means “preview” in Italian – also sells graphic prints from illustrator Alfio Martire and 1960s and 1970s era furniture, including an Instagram worthy red couch shaped like ocean waves. Anteprima is located at 498 Broome Street in NYC and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Nov. 10. 2019.
