Last week, we learned that Taylor Armstrong will return to the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a replacement for fired cast member Brandi Glanville. Lisa Rinna wasn’t on the show during Taylor’s first stint, so the two are just getting to know each other for the first time – and according to reports from the set, they really don’t like each other. According to Radar Online, the problem began when Taylor openly mocked Yolanda Foster’s illness and suggested the 51-year-old former model is faking it. As fans of the show know, Yolanda was diagnosed with Lyme disease back in 2012. In the years since, Foster’s Instagram diary has served as an inspiration for thousands of Lyme disease patients – and offered bravely candid updates on the severity of her worsening condition. Needless to say, the other ladies didn’t take kindly to Taylor’s suggestion that Yolanda is exaggerating for attention, and Lisa was the first to make her feelings known. “[Taylor] was openly questioning how sick Yolanda was,” says one insider. “Taylor said she was having major doubts about how serious the Lyme disease was for Yolanda, who wasn’t at [Lisa Vanderpump’s anniversary] party.” “Lisa Rinna was openly seething with anger because Taylor doesn’t even know Yolanda, and shouldn’t have even gone there! It quickly became obvious to Lisa that Taylor is being brought back this season to stir the pot.” Well, if it that was the goal, it seems producers are getting their wish. Taylor has already extended an olive branch to Lisa, tweeting, “@lisarinna I just saw Lip Sync Battle @SpikeLSB #LipSyncBattle hmmmm…why haven’t they invited us to face (I mean lip) sync it off? #RHoBH,” Rinna ignored the reference to their shared fondness for collagen, but tweeted shortly thereafter, “My mom always said if you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything at all. #fail.” Hopefully, Lisa won’t continue taking the high road when the cameras are rolling. Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia are officially in. And Taylor Armstrong is officially out. Six weeks prior to the premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 , E! News confirms that this controversial reality star has been given the boot from the Bravo franchise. “Taylor is not returning as a Housewive,” a source tells E!. “You’ll see her here and there in a few scenes, but that will be the extent of her participation.” Armstrong has been a cast member since 2010, but found herself in the middle of major controversy two years ago after her estranged husband committed suicide… and yet Bravo forged ahead with new episodes, including this in which Russell Armstrong appeared. Taylor is now engaged to John Bluher and wedding planning is taking up most of her time. “Taylor’s been filming, but barely,” an insider added to E!. “And she’s no longer on salary. Her current deal is pay-for-play. She only gets paid for the days that she shoots. As of now, that hasn’t been a lot.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns on November 4.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills heads straight from the finale to the “Reunion” show with one Housewife glaringly absent. We recap who bailed and who had the best fake out in our THG +/- review The Housewives hit Andy’s couch so that must mean the season is over. But one Housewife didn’t show. Adrienne Maloof bailed and not just on the reunion show but on the entire series. Minus 15. Too bad her final act as a Housewife was to no-show. I suppose it all became too much for her but Lisa was right. You don’t join a reality TV show if you have skeletons you don’t want exposed. Fame comes at a price and it’s one Ms. Maloof seems unwilling to pay. Minus 30 because the viewers are still the last to know what the big secret is and that’s nothing but frustrating. What good is reality TV if we can’t dish the dirt? But on to the Housewives who did show up. Taylor’s looking as botoxed as ever. Did she borrow those lips from Daffy or Donald? Minus 12 . She’s looking more ridiculous every season. At least Taylor’s in love…with a married man…who lives in Colorado. What could go wrong here? Adrienne may be out but Brandi is definitely in and she’s more than willing to say whatever’s on her mind but I’m guessing we’ll have more fun with that in part 2 than we did tonight. Best fake out of the night went to Andy. Plus 45 for perpetrating the rumor that Leann Rimes was the latest Housewife and then pretending she was about to be presented. Very funny. Kyle and Lisa go at it once again. Minus 18 because this fight gets more boring every time I have to listen to it. Kyle feels that Lisa’s cut her off and Lisa believe Kyle never has her back. It’s time to go to your separate corners and move on. Just when I expected everyone to pile on Brandi, it was Yolanda who was under attack. First we see footage of Taylor saying that she feels like Yolanda thinks she’s better than her. Plus 10 . Um…that’s because she is. Yolanda admits she never watched an episode of the show before she signed on. Minus 15. Oh honey, that was just dumb. Information is power. Never turn it down. Then Kim goes after Yolanda over their supposed juice cleanse date. Only in Beverly Hills do women make a date to do a group cleanse. Minus 11 . It makes me glad I don’t live there. But the dates were made through production people, not directly between Kim and Yolanda. Problem solved…sort of. The funny part about Yolanda is that she can be just as direct as Brandi, she just says it more politely and with an accent. Plus 15. Yolanda and Kyle bicker over their definitions of friendship. Let’s face it. This is a reality show. Does anyone really expect these two to become best buddies? There’s lots of sniping about who came to whose parties and then Kyle throws Yolanda under the bus for calling out Lisa in Paris. To be honest I only remember Yolanda saying it was wrong of Lisa to continually talk about Kim, especially while Kim was sitting right there. I don’t recall her really tearing Lisa apart. Minus 20 because Bravo didn’t show any of the footage to back it up. Andy claimed there’s more to life than dinner parties and suing friends in Beverly HIlls. Yeah, there’s too much drinking and a lot of back stabbing too. The claws have definitely came out on the sofa. Can’t wait to see who else gets scratched in part 2. Episode total = -51! It’s been far too long since Taylor Armstrong used her estranged husband’s suicide for profit or attention, hasn’t it? The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is back at it, though, blogging this week about her state of mind – and the state of her liver – after Russell Armstrong took his own life in August 2011. “I went through about nine months where I was drinking to cope with the pain and the memories,” Armstrong wrote yesterday. “I was drinking to forget, to stop the recurring images in my head, to relax enough to try to sleep at night.” On Sunday’s episode of this Bravo hit, Kim and Kyle Richards approached Taylor about her drinking problem, causing Armstrong to reflect and now open up. “I was self-medicating and the sad truth is that I didn’t know another way to get through the days — and nights,” she wrote in her entry. “I was confronted with the truth that the life I thought I had was only an illusion. What I finally realized was that ‘pain waits for you.’ I would medicate for a day and the next morning all the emotions would come flooding back — not to mention the massive headache.” But that’s pretty much now all behind her, the reality star concludes: “Thankfully, I had an amazing support system and they helped me realize that it was time for me to feel my emotions and let the healing begin.” She may be healing off camera going forward, however. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills had their “White Party Pooper” or was that just Adrienne Maloof leaving her mark on all the furniture? We break down the bad tans and good nose jobs in THG’s +/- recap! I’ve got to call bs when I see it. Did anyone else notice that during Kyle and Kim’s conversation with Taylor they switched phones? First they’re talking on a white phone, then an all silver one and then back to the white with no explanation. Yet it was all edited together to look like one long phone call. Minus 12 . I know it’s TV but that kind of editing leaves me wondering how real Taylor’s drunken phone call really was. I’d ask why Kyle had the five year olds in heels but maybe it’s a Beverly Hills thing. Besides, Kennedy was certainly safer with Kyle than with her own mother. Taylor apparently forgets where she leaves the little girl once she’s had a few. Even Kim called Taylor on her drunken, love induced ramblings and she should know. Speaking of Kim, she had a coming out party for her new nose. What the hell. Plus 15. At least everyone can point at it all at once. Why is Faye suddenly popping up every week? Minus 22. She’s like the stray housewife. I just wish they’d stop feeding her so she’d wander off and not come back. How many times does Adrienne have to point out that her husband would have done just a good a job on Kim’s nose, if not better. Minus 17. Yes, we know Paul’s a plastic surgeon but Kim chose to go elsewhere. Show some class and drop it. I never disliked Adrienne as much as I have this season. First, she and Paul were trash talking about Brandi Glanville while touting the importance of positive karma. Minus 26 . They might want to look up the meaning of the word. Last week Adrienne denied the existence of a letter. This week she all but admitted there was one but that didn’t mean she was suing anybody. Minus 15 . Adrienne said she only visited her attorney. For what, tea? But the worst was Kyle Richards ‘ hypocrisy. Despite her crocodile tears she was all too quick to back up Paul and Adrienne last year and not allow Russell and Taylor into her home. But it seems as long as the person being legally bullied is Brandi it’s OK. Minus 30. Plus 40 to Ken. He’s not about to be pushed around by Paul’s loud mouth and at least he and Lisa were willing to stand up for a friend. You can’t say that about many in this group. Plus Ken was right. The only reason I even remember that Adrienne has a shoe line is that Lisa called it the Maloof Hoof. It was a joke, and a funny one at that but Maloofs don’t seem to have much of a sense of humor…or very good self tanner. Minus 18 . You’d think with all of that money Adrienne wouldn’t leave smudge marks on friend’s furniture. It’s hard to argue with that truth when it’s got to be cleaned up off the sofa. EPISODE TOTAL: -85! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is being primed for a makeover, a new report indicates, and Taylor Armstrong may be the odd woman out. The original cast member may be fired as producers reach out to some new ladies in the area, including Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster. Rod’s son, Sean, is (not) coincidentally dating Adrienne Maloof. As of now, none of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members have received official pick-ups for next season yet, so there’s a lot up in the air. Filming begins in April, though, so they will know at least three weeks beforehand which of them should be expecting camera crews at their doorsteps. As for Armstrong, “producers are looking at other options … they feel like Taylor’s storyline has become too dark and they need to shake things up a bit.” Much of her involvement in the show has dealt with the fallout from her husband Russell Armstrong’s suicide in 2011 … and that’s dragged on for awhile. “They have been talking to quite a few new people,” the source adds, noting that at least five women have been approached, including Lancaster. “There are also discussions about Faye Resnick possibly coming onboard as a full time-member,” says the insider of the current recurring player. Genevieve Cook, an ex-girlfriend of President Obama, shares some intimate details about their relationship in a new book about the Commander-in-Chief. Barack Obama: The Story , by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist David Maraniss, is the most thorough account of the President’s life not written by Obama. Vanity Fair published excerpts Wednesday. While The Story contains no sordid, shocking tales of impropriety, it portrays Obama as extremely ambitious. Obama’s autobiography Dreams From My Father , while generally true, makes him look less calculating and motivated by his own career, in other words. Barack Obama: The Story also goes into much greater detail about his early life, including romantic relationships, such as that with Genevieve Cook. Using Obama’s writings and ex-girlfriends’ diaries, Maraniss paints a picture of Obama as an intense, conflicted and sometimes brooding intellectual. It was that intelligence that drew Cook to Obama after a chance meeting at that East Village apartment gathering, according to Maraniss’ book. The future President, who in 1983 was a recent graduate of Columbia University, began chatting up the assistant teacher at a party that Christmas. Obama apparently earned Cook’s endorsement, as they went on a date just days later and she spent that night at his tiny Manhattan apartment. While sitting on an orange beanbag chair, the two bonded over the time each spent in Indonesia as youths, then exchanged phone numbers. “I think maybe he cooked me dinner,” she wrote. “Then we went and talked in his bedroom. And then I spent the night. It all felt very inevitable.” Cook remembers that Barack Obama also used to spend Sundays in his room wearing a sarong, drinking coffee and solving crossword puzzles. She described the room as a “a mixture of smells that so strongly speak of his presence, his liveliness, his habits … running sweat, Brut spray deodorant, smoking, eating raisins, sleeping, breathing.” And while Cook wrote about Obama’s “sexual warmth,” she felt he sometimes kept her at arm’s length … and when she said “I love you,” he often responded “thank you” rather than “I love you, too.” Barack first met his future wife, First Lady Michelle Obama , in 1989. Score another point for those pushing Taylor Armstrong into rehab ? According to a Radar Online source, the troubled Real Housewife of Beverly Hills got drunk this weekend… at the birthday party for Kyle Richards’ four-year old daughter, Portia. And – what do you know?!? – the incident was captured by Bravo cameras filming season three. “It’s extremely worrying that Taylor would get blitzed at a birthday party for a four-year-old girl,” an anonymous party guest says . “Taylor was drinking white wine and it was truly sad to see – she was slurring her words and she got very emotional the more she had to drink… she clearly is in a great deal of distress right now and she desperately needs help.” Witnesses confirm that all Housewives were in attendance at the shindig, with the exception of new cast member Yolanda Hadid . No premiere date has been announced yet for the third season of this scripted nonsense, but rumors continue to swirl that Taylor will be phased out – with her only storyline based around this drinking problem – and that Lisa Vanderpump totally sucks .
