The Girls Trip actress might already have a leg-up in the music game–she was up for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for her The Last Black Unicorn audiobook last year. She also sings a song in her upcoming film Lego Movie 2 , where she plays Queen Watevra Wa’Nab. Although Haddish ended up losing her shot at a Grammy to former President Jimmy Carter for his audiobook, she said that the Grammy nomination gave her the confidence she needed in order to give singing a serious shot. “It really inspired me. Like, ‘Wow if I can [get] nominated for a Grammy for telling my truth, what can I get if I really just apply myself and my vocal skills?’” she explained. As far as titles go, the comedian is thinking of going with something that pays tribute to her current stand up tour, She Ready . She revealed, “It will probably be the ‘She Ready’ album or ‘The She Ready Experience’ or ‘The We Ready Album.’” When it comes to features, the up-and-coming singer ahas hopes of Cardi B being featured on her new album. “I’m trying to get her on a couple of tracks,” she said before doing an impression of the rapper’s famous sound effects. “I’m like ‘She ready, brrrrrrr!” Haddish assures both herself and those who might listen to the album that she’s just determined to have a good time. “I’m going to see what happens. It might be really great, it might not. But who cares, right? You’ve got to give it a shot.” You can check out Tiffany’s full interview with Glamour down below for yourself:
Source: Patricia Schlein/WENN.com / WENN 21 Savage is officially a free man….well, for now, at least. After spending over a week in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following his arrest on February 3, the rapper was released on bond on Tuesday afternoon, according to reports from TMZ . 21’s lawyers gave a statement to the publication quickly following his release. “21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters — he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together,” Alex Spiro, Charles H. Kuck and Dina LaPolt said in the joint statement. “He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.” If you’re not caught up on why Savage was detained in the first place, he was arrested following a traffic stop in Atlanta in early February and was taken into custody when officials found that the rapper is actually a citizen of the United Kingdom. ICE spokesman Bryan Cox said at the time, “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested unlawfully present United Kingdom national Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph AKA ‘21 Savage’ during a targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners early Sunday in metro Atlanta. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the U.S. and also a convicted felon.” Though authorities initially claimed that Savage’s visa expired in July 2006, his legal team later debunked that story. But now, celebrations are in order that 21 has finally been released from the detention center he was held in for over a week–although, he didn’t get off completely scot-free; The rapper was released on bond pending a deportation hearing and luckily, his attorneys say that 21 was granted an expedited hearing. With that being said, 21 FINALLY getting out as he should of when he was first arrested is something to be happy about, and fans are definitely celebrating this occasion. Source: Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.com / WENN What should have been one of the happiest moments of Cardi B ‘s career has instead turned into an annoyance, to the point where the Grammy-award winner shutdown her Instagram account. She vented on Monday about the backlash she’s seen on the Internet after her big win and soon after, she deactivated her account. It’s not much of a stretch to believe that negative comments from the social media world despite her reposting of kudos from her industry peers could have played a role in her abrupt departure from the platform. In a now-deleted video from her page, Cardi spoke about the negativity she’d seen surrounding her name and her historic win. “I’m seeing a lot of bullsh*t today and I saw a lot of sh*t last night and I’m sick of this sh*t. I worked hard for my motherf*cking album,” Cardi said, highlighting the fact she was pregnant during the recording of it and how people constantly told her that her career would stall out due to the pregnancy. Cardi did thank J. Cole who had shouted her out for winning the gramophone as he opened up about his own perception of the Grammy itself. “[I] don’t never wanna be propped up by tearing somebody else down,” Cole tweeted. “Seeing Cardi b win a Grammy make me feel like I won. Same with jay rock and Anderson. I feel for Travis cuz he really deserved that acknowledgement as well, but his moment is way bigger than the awards could say.” i don’t never wanna be propped up by tearing somebody else down. Last night was music’s biggest night, the 61st annual Grammy Awards. One of the most undeniable highlights of the night was when break out rapper Cardi B took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album. The Invasion Of Privacy rapper made Grammy History by becoming the first solo female rapper to win in the category. BET Network posted an article about Cardi’s legendary win and happened to throw shade while congratulating Cardi. The Caption attached to the article said “Meanwhile, Nicki is being dragged by her lace front.” Of course Nicki Minaj took immediate defense to the Network’s unnecessary commentary. She tweeted this as reaction to the company’s comment: Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show. Summer Tour dates dropping soon — QUEEN (@NICKIMINAJ) February 11, 2019 Cardi B and Nicki Minaj were set to co-headline the BET Experience this June in Los Angeles but Nicki is calling a foul of the play. She said that her label Young Money will not be participating. That includes Label CEO Lil Wayne, according to Nicki none of them will be there. BET has released a statement apologizing to Nicki Minaj stating: “BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation. We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again. We have apologized to Nicki and her team. The post has been removed and we have taken additional appropriate action. We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her. Finally, we apologize to all of her fans. This should have never happened.” From Nicki’s response on social media, it doesn’t seem like she’s going to let up on her decision to not work with BET.

Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty While there was MUCH to discuss about the tribute to Motown at the 61st Grammy Awards, one tribute that felt brief but powerful was the one for the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin who passed away last year at 76. Yolanda Adams , Fantasia and Andra Day stood side by side as they belted out Aretha’s signature 1967 hit “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”. Each woman took a particular verse before coming together to a fiery, impactful finale. Adams previously paid tribute to Franklin with a performance of “Mary Don’t You Weep” at her funeral last August. You can watch the performance of “A Natural Woman” below.
