She opened up about these frustrations on Instagram after an incident with her four-year-old son, Genesis, who she took to the nail salon recently. While they were there, the toddler struggled with whether or not to go through with getting the rainbow colored nail polish he wanted. “He’s in the chair and he’s like, ‘I want [a] rainbow.’ So he tells the lady that he wants rainbow colors on his nails. And she brings all of these colors and she paints each nail a different color. And after she painted his nails, he looked at me and he said, ‘Mommy, I don’t want this on my nails,’” Keys said. When the songstress asked her son why, Genesis went on to explain that could have problems with the colors on his nails. “Can you believe this? 4 years old. Ultimately, this incident left the singer thinking about how judgemental the world has become. “The way I see it, there is masculine and there are feminine energies inside of us all, period. It gets concerning to me that we can’t just explore these different sides of ourselves. These different energies that are within us.” She continued, “Even for me, myself, I oftentimes express the masculine energy that’s inside of me. And, all the time, if that happens, there are the judgments, and there’s the stereotypes, and there are all the energies that come towards that. And for my boys, [it’s] similar, if they want to express the feminine energy that’s inside of them. There’s all of these judgments, and all these rules, and stereotypes, and vibes.” Alicia wrapped up her venting session, saying, “We should be able to explore and express [our masculine and feminine energies] however we want to.”

The rapper’s second annual ASTROWORLD Festival took place on Saturday, November 9 in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Along with hosting the whole event, Travis also headlined the festival, performing for the 50,000 + people expected to attend. While he was on stage getting sentimental about the second year of his very own festival, he took the time out to thank those who helped him get here. Among those people: his baby mama and their daughter. Even though these two supposedly broke up back in October, it’s not too surprising that Kylie would bring Stormi to the festival anyway to supervise as she supports her dad. The Canadian rapper-singer was at the popular Miami club Friday night, where he was reportedly set to perform. Prior to taking the stage, however, he got into a little kerfuffle with Prince Michael Harty, a rapper/promoter on ‘L&HH: Miami’. It’s unclear if he connected with the guy cleanly, but it appears the rest of Tory’s security team and entourage joined in on the beat down too. LIV reps released a statement on the altercation: “Last night our security broke up an altercation between Love and Hip Hop’s Prince and Tory Lanez. The special needs child reportedly fell at around 11 AM Saturday morning at 1453 Harrod Avenue, near East 174th Street in Soundview. “I was making coffee when I heard the kid screaming so I ran outside..He couldn’t speak because of his condition so he screamed,” says a neighbor who rushed to help the child after the accident. It was unclear how the child fell out of the window, or whether the family was home at the time. He was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Source: Tom Williams / Getty Kamala Harris Proposes Controversial Plan To Benefit Working Families According to Fox 8, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris introduced legislation earlier this week that she says would match school hours with work hours to help out working families. The “Family Friendly Schools Act” proposes stretching the school day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Harris released a statement on her proposed bill: “My mother raised my sister and me while working demanding, long hours…So, I know firsthand that, for many working parents, juggling between school schedules and work schedules is a common cause of stress and financial hardship. But, this does not have to be the case. My bill provides an innovative solution that will help reduce the burden of child care on working families. It is time we modernize the school schedule to better meet the needs of our students and their families.” According to the bill, after care programs and summer daycare programs cost the United States economy close to $55 billion. The bill would allegedly “provide grants to local educational agencies to establish ‘‘Family Friendly School’’ policies at 500 elementary schools that align the school day with the work day to better support working families and to disseminate the learnings from these model schools so that other local educational agency’s may adopt these practices, and to establish a supplemental 21st century community learning centers grant program to support programs and activities during summer recess when school is not in session. “

During the WIRED25 event on Friday, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that a select number of U.S. users would see the like counts disappear from Instagram as soon as next week. He didn’t provide any further details on the scale of the test, but simply revealed it wouldn’t be “the whole U.S. at once.” “There’s a couple of hundred people in here, so definitely a couple of you will have private likes, I hope,” Mosseri said to the crowd. “It’s about young people. The idea is to try to depressurize Instagram, make it less of a competition, give people more space to focus on connecting with people they love, things that inspire them. But it’s really focused on young people. We have to see how it affects how people feel about the platform, how it affects how they use the platform…but I’ve been spending a lot of time on this, personally.” Earlier this year, Instagram started testing private likes among Canadian users, and they’ve since expanded the test to six other countries, which includes Brazil, Italy, Australia, Ireland, and Japan. With this new format, Instagram users will still have the ability to see which users liked each of their own posts, but the like count would no longer be visible to others. These tests ended up being launched following concerns about social media’s effect on mental health. Source: Karl Tapales / Getty Shooting At Church’s Chicken Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a Church’s Chicken in San Diego, California . The whole incident reportedly happened after the suspected gunman attempted to pay for food using a counterfeit bill. According to reports from NBC San Diego , the shooting occurred at a Church’s located on Picador and Del Sol boulevards in the Otay Mesa community on Wednesday night. Before the shooting, the suspect, who was described by the San Diego Police Department as a “thin man in his 30s,” got into an argument with the employees over his alleged attempted use of a fake $100 bill. There have been conflicting reports around this case, however, about whether or not a counterfeit bill was actually the issue. Other reports have stated that the customer’s grievance was centered around a store policy which prevented the acceptance of any $100 bills outright. Currently investigating shooting at 3700 Picador Blvd. Suspect was a customer who got into argument with employees. Suspect retrieved handgun and fired. 1 employee killed, 2 others injured. One employee ended up dying from injuries sustained during the shooting. Accordint to the San Diego Union-Tribune , she has been identified as 28-year-old Maribel Ibañez. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection with the fatal shooting.

Buffie Purselle who was seen on the new season alongside her good friend Joseline Herandez is putting Dr. Jackie Walters on blast. On the next episode of “Married To Medicine” Buffie will be seen looking on in horror as Dr. Jackie Walters lets a crowded room know that Buffie was “infertile.” According to Jackie she and Buffie can relate on that level because she’s had fertility issues following bouts with breast cancer. “4 years ago, I got breast cancer, said Dr. Jackie. “And the thing that we grow up, most of us wanting to do, you can’t do. And Buffie, you can relate. You’re infertile.” According to Buffie, the moment was intentional and malicious. She also corrected Dr. Jackie and said that she’s not infertile and has actually been pregnant multiple times but suffered miscarriages. “This was one of the most humiliating and painful moments in my life. I am proud that I was able to rise above my pain and embarrassment and conduct myself as the lady that my Mother and Grandmother raised me to be. When you first meet someone and they see that you are happily married they ask the inevitable question “do you have kids?” I always answer no. No – period. Then SOME people ask “why NOT” as if my husband I have done something wrong. I am then forced to explain my many failed attempts at motherhood. This is the level of discussion that Dr. Walters and I had regarding my CHALLENGES with fertility. To call another woman infertile is cruel. That word doesn’t begin to describe the type of person that I am. The clinical definition is that you are unable to GET pregnant. Well, I can and have gotten pregnant many times. I was just unable to carry my babies to full term. Additionally, it means that you bear no fruit. Well, I like to think that I have been a productive member of society and that my mark will be left through philanthropy. I believe that Dr. Walters said this with malicious intent because she could have said many other things about me if she truly wanted to relate to me. We are both successful businesswomen, we are both extremely organized, we both do a lot of charity work, the list goes on and on but she settled on this. And to date, she has NEVER offered me a sincere apology. I don’t want an apology from her anyway because she doesn’t think that she did anything wrong. A mouse has more emotional intelligence.
