This week, the rapper sent out VIP passes for an upcoming event–but for Hov, just sending out a regular degular invite isn’t going to cut it. Instead, he sent out some very nice jewelry and a bottle of Ace of Spades to attendees like Meek Mill and Swizz Beatz . Hov is on another level with the invite game,” the producer captioned his Instagram story. “It came with a Daytona Rolex and a bottle of Ace.” According to Complex , t he specific Rolex watches that were gifted are valued at $40,000 and were gifted as a VIP pass for the upcoming Shawn Carter Foundation Gala. The event is set to go down on November 15 and 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, featuring a blackjack tournament and a black tie gala. Source: Jeff Kravitz / Getty Kendrick Lamar Just Copped A New Crib In Manhattan Beach Kendrick Lamar and his longtime love just welcomed their bundle of joy to the family in July, so it’s only right they start this journey with a new home. Fresh off news that Kendrick made an appearance in the top 10 on Forbes’ highest paid hip-hop artists in 2019, the rapper just spent some of that hard-earned money on a new crib. According to reports from Variety , Lamar dropped $9.73 million on a mansion in Manhattan Beach, California–which is very close to his hometown, Compton. Because this was an off-market deal, photos of the interior are currently unavailable, but Powers Development were behind the mansion, a company known for its luxury homes. The house has four bedrooms and seven bathrooms across three stories and 5,350 square feet. Definitely not a small house by any means, but still pretty modest for a rapper of his caliber. Before this latest purchase, Kung-Fu Kenny spent $523,400 for a house in Eastvale, Riverdale County back in 2016. One year later, he paid $2.65 million for a home in a gated community in Calabasas, which he reportedly gifted to his mother and other family members thereafter. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Has Officially Dethroned ‘Avatar’ As The Highest-Grossing Film Of All Time

Source: Steve Granitz / Getty Avengers: Endgame Is The Highest Grossing Movie Ever After 9 years of holding the title as the world’s highest grossing film ever, James Cameron’s Avatar has been dethroned by Avengers: Endgame . As of Saturday, July 20,  the fourth installment in the Avengers franchise had raked in $2.7892 billion at the global box office, which is just about $500,000 shy of Avatar ‘s $2.7897 billion record. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the big news during San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, confirming that Endgame would close the $500K gap by Sunday. “Thanks to you,  Avengers: Endgame is the biggest film of all-time,” he announced during Marvel’s highly-anticipated Hall H panel. Since the film’s initial release back in April, Endgame has broken multiple records, including the fastest film to hit $100 million at the box office, the highest-grossing opening day in history, and the first film to earn $1 billion in an opening weekend. But in order to assure their status as the number one film of all time, the Avengers movie received a boost when it was re-released in theaters with a little extra footage back in June–which is what eventually set Endgame over the top. The directors of the film, Joe and Anthony Russo, issued a thank you to fans on Twitter after the news broke yesterday. According to the AJC , an armored truck door swung open while haulin’ a$$ down the highway near Ashford-Dunwoody Road yesterday evening and cash went flying everywhere! “I saw a bunch of paper floating around in the road and everybody pulling over on the shoulder, and as I got closer I noticed it was all just cash,” the driver reported. A viral video of cash ruling everything around people circulated social media almost immediately. Oh y’all thought I was lyin? Yes, there was money flying all over I-285!!! #atlanta pic.twitter.com/aAL6e8huGa — Kites & Flights… (@Caramelbelle) July 10, 2019 Based on that video, police are trying to identify the license plates of anyone seen committing “theft of lost or mislaid property” which could be as many as 50 people. “The law is the law,” Sgt. Robert Parsons said. “You need to turn in the property. It doesn’t belong to you. Reality needs to kick in, and you need to realize this money belongs to someone.” There hasn’t been an official count yet, but the trucks drivers estimate that they lost around $175,000. Police say they only recovered about, wait for it…$200.

Issa Good Guy: 21 Savage Donates $25,000 To Help Detained Immigrants Get Access To Legal Counsel

Source: WENN.com / WENN 21 Savage Made A Sizable Donation To The Southern Poverty Law Center 21 Savage just made a donation to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights organization that was vital in assisting him in his battle against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The rapper gave the SPLC a $25,000 check that is going to ensure detained immigrants in the South will have access to legal counsel. According to the nonprofit, only about 17 percent of immigrants in Southeast detainment centers have access to an attorney during their removal proceedings. The lack of legal representation leaves individuals vulnerable to terrible situations like family separation and deportation. Immigration law attorney Charles H. Kuck said the following in a statement: “21 Savage is making this donation public because everyday Americans need to know that ICE is using civil immigration detention as a weapon against immigrants, many of whom, like 21 Savage, have relief from deportation and are able to fix their immigration status. Creating oppressively adverse conditions of detention, like those in Irwin County, Georgia, far away from family and legal counsel, causes despair and hopelessness, and forces these men and women to give up on their immigration claims. The SPLC, through its Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative (SIFI) stands at the front line of this fight and supporting this effort lets all Americans know that the Constitution which protects the least of us, protects all of us.” If you’ll recall 21 was arrested and detained by ICE himself earlier this year. Immigration officials said that the rapper was born in the United Kingdom and was unlawfully present in the United States. The rapper’s legal team said he had entered the U.S. legally at the age of seven and stayed in the country until he had visited the U.K. in 2005. The rapper returned to the U.S. in July of that year under an H-4 visa, which expired in 2006. He reportedly applied for a visa in 2017; the application was still under review at the time of his arrest. He ended up being released on bond less than two weeks later.

Source: WENN / WENN Nas And Will Smith Invest In A New App Geared Toward Teens Will Smith and Nas are among the initial investors in a new app that aims to teach teenagers financial literacy. Step, the start-up company, is developing an app that will give young adults access to bank accounts with no minimum balance, no fees, and advice on how to manage the money inside of it. The app will also integrate with Apple Pay and other online money-moving apps, along with giving parents the option to monitor the account while setting limits and guidelines. Step CEO and co-founder CJ MacDonald explained why this app is so necessary, saying, “Schools don’t teach kids about money. We want to be their first bank accounts with spending cards, but we also want to teach financial literacy and responsibility.” He continued,  “Banks don’t tailor to this, and we want to be a solution teaching the next generation of adults to be more responsible with money in the cashless era. It was easy with cash to go to the mall but now everyone is using their phone for Uber and more.” Mastercard’s Sherri Haymond praised the new idea in a press release, also noting how it would incorporate new avenues of financial literacy to account for changes in the way that people access their money–like the aforementioned Apple Pay and other similar technology. “Today’s young people are digitally savvy, having grown up with technology as a mainstay in their day-to-day lives. As a result, we also need to ensure that they become familiar with the unique aspects of digital payments including providing education about the various finance and payment products available,” Haymond said. “Step has taken a thoughtful approach to developing an offering for teens and families that provides that first step in educating and acclimating today’s youth to help them gain confidence and awareness around their finances.” Both Nas and Will Smith know first hand how important it is to get your children equipped with the right tools early, and that’s exactly what this app aims to do.
