Source: min chul kim / Getty Cash Falls Off Armored Truck On I-285 In Atlanta If you live on the north side of Atlanta and missed the free-for-all on I-285 yesterday evening then you’re probably going to kick yourself after you read this. According to the AJC , an armored truck door swung open while haulin’ a$$ down the highway near Ashford-Dunwoody Road yesterday evening and cash went flying everywhere! “I saw a bunch of paper floating around in the road and everybody pulling over on the shoulder, and as I got closer I noticed it was all just cash,” the driver reported. A viral video of cash ruling everything around people circulated social media almost immediately. Oh y’all thought I was lyin? Yes, there was money flying all over I-285!!! #atlanta pic.twitter.com/aAL6e8huGa — Kites & Flights… (@Caramelbelle) July 10, 2019 Based on that video, police are trying to identify the license plates of anyone seen committing “theft of lost or mislaid property” which could be as many as 50 people. “The law is the law,” Sgt. Robert Parsons said. “You need to turn in the property. It doesn’t belong to you. Reality needs to kick in, and you need to realize this money belongs to someone.” There hasn’t been an official count yet, but the trucks drivers estimate that they lost around $175,000. Police say they only recovered about, wait for it…$200.

Will you be watching “Drumline: A New Beat”???? Alexandra Shipp Interview Alexandra Shipp is enjoying a breakout year and capping it off with the lead role in “Drumline: A New Beat.”  The singing/dancing entertainer who plays a drummer with a dream named Dani, recently sat down with BOSSIP to dish on the VH1 film and her time in the spotlight. How does your character Dani pick up where Devin Miles left off in “Drumline”? Well it’s a new beat so for Dani she comes into the school and is trying to be the first female section leader and is trying to break down all the ideas that people have about women when it comes to being in a marching band. She goes into this school trying to succeed at music and like Devin Miles she is a little bit cocky and thinks that she deserves it. Whereas you have to earn your keep on the line, so it’s a little bit like Devin Miles but it’s also a new story about Dani where she‘s trying to discover herself and learn how to be the best musician and female section leader that she can possibly be. Will “Drumline: A New Beat” give viewers the same feeling of being at an HBCU as “Drumline”? You do [feel like you’re at an HBCU] but this is definitely focusing on the drumline a little bit more. We’re at college but at the same time we’re in a marching band. So we wanted to make it a little bit more worldly so that everyone could be like all the girls who play the snare, all the girls who want to be in a marching band could get into it. We have some really great HBCU moments but we also have some really cool drumline moments, it’s about the camaraderie that you feel when you’re on the line with your friends. Everyone’s in sync, everyone’s feeling it. Even though you already have a background in singing and dancing this is your first time acting in a band. What was the experience like? It was such an intense experience. I danced before, I sang before, I thought I knew what I was getting myself into. I have such a respect for people who do this for a living because it’s not easy. It’s physically taxing on top of emotionally taxing; you’re standing in the sun and you’re like ‘I can’t move.’ I really found a love for drumming and a love for marching and a love for all of my band mates. I saw the movie and I think it really does translate. That’s the whole point of being on a drumline, is to be a part of this world, a part of this society where people love and support you but they’re also passionate about what they’re doing. What do you have to say to “Drumline” fans who are on the fence about seeing this film? This movie is definitely for the fans [of the original], but it’s also for the new fans as well. When I saw “Drumline” I had no idea that bands did that; I’m from the West Coast and so we don’t go as hard as they do on the East Coast especially when it comes to black colleges. I think the original fans will feel that but the new fans will be introduced into a whole new world of drumming. What do you want people to learn from Dani? I want girls to learn that it’s so okay to be a Tomboy, it’s so okay to go after what you want no matter what people say and what people think. I think that’s exactly what this movie’s about. How is life for Alexandra Shipp right now? Life is pretty good, I couldn’t be any more happy. Six months ago I didn’t know if I was going to be able to pay my rent so I’m just happy that my hard work is paying off. Drumline: A New Beat airs TONIGHT 9/8c on VH1.

Daimler Trucks Faces Civil Rights Complaints, Employees Being Called Racist Names Like “N****r” “Boy” “Toby” And “Buckwheat”

Wow Daimler… Really? “No place for n—ers here” ? Daimler Trucks North America Being Investigated Over Discrimination Claims This place definitely seems like a terrible work environment for people of color . According to KGW reports : A investigation into Daimler Trucks North America has expanded after four more employees opened civil rights complaints against the Portland-based company. Nine Daimler employees from its North Portland facility have now filed complaints, in addition to the commissioner’s complaint filed by Brad Avakian, according to Charlie Burr, spokesman for the Bureau of Labor and Industries. The new complaints include allegations of discrimination based on age, race and ethnicity, including racial epithets and failure of management. They also include retaliation for voicing concerns, which can include firing, being moved to a different job or getting passed over for a promotion. Among the complainants is a Native American employee who “may have been forced to leave his position because of working conditions at the North Portland facility,” Burr said. According to his complaint, the Native American employee said he was harassed and pressured by his team leader to do extra work or work outside his job description because of his race. The team leader was also accused of pushing the employee against the hood of a truck, challenging him to a fight. That employee said he felt he had no choice but to resign. Another black employee said he was called racist names and challenged to fights, told to take heated conversations “to the boat ramp,” and given a drug test when he reported the incidents. Avakian’s commissioners complaint was filed September 25, on behalf of five employees who claimed to have been called racist names including “ni**er,” “boy,” “Toby” and “buckwheat.” One of those African-American employees also alleged that a white Daimler coworker threatened him with a noose and said he would drag the employee behind his car. On September 18, an African-American woman filed a similar complaint, alleging she was discriminated against based on her race, age and religion. The woman was allegedly called derogatory names in German and, after working at the ­­company for a year, a sign was placed on her chair that read “no place for ni**ers here.” She blamed Daimler’s “pro-German culture” on creating a hostile work environment for minorities. SMH. This is just terrible. Of course Daimler Trucks has released a statement claiming it doesn’t tolerate discrimination and trains employees to avoid it. Tracy Morgan Sues Wal-Mart for “Negligent” Role in Fatal Car Crash, Returns Home

Tracy Morgan, still recuperating from injuries suffered in a horrific car accident last month, has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart. The crash took place on June 7 and also took the life of Morgan’s good friend, Jimmy McNair, who was riding with the comedian and others in a limo on the way home from a show in Delaware. Wal-Mart driver Kevin Roper had allegedly been awake for over 24 hours when he lost control of his vehicle, leading to a six-car pile-up. 11 Uproarious Tracy Jordan Quotes 1. Tracy on intelligence: “You’re even dumber than I look!” The legal papers were filed in the U.S. District Court in New Jersey on behalf of Morgan, McNair’s widow and comedian Ardie Fuqua and Morgan’s assistant Jeffrey Millea (also injured in the crash). They state that “Wal-Mart was careless and negligent in the ownership and operation of its motor vehicle, which caused Mr. Morgan to suffer severe personal injuries.” The complaint continues: “As a direct and proximate result of said collision, Mr. Morgan was caused to sustain severe painful bodily injuries, including but not limited to multiple fractures which required multiple surgeries, extensive medical treatment and will require significant physical rehabilitation.” Tracy Morgan: On the Mend The suit alleges that “Wal-Mart knew, or should have known” that Roper – who was later charged for his role in the incident – was “awake for more than 24 consecutive hours” prior to the collision. Morgan is out of the hospital and in a rehab center, where sources say he’s showing “signs of improvement.” In an earlier statement, Wal-Mart said “we are deeply sorry that one of our trucks was involved,” adding, “We’re committed to doing the right thing for all involved.” UPDATE : Morgan is on his way home to complete his recovery.

Kanye, who’s been dealing with on again, off again problems with the paparazzi in recent weeks apparently wanted to make a statement and did so by purchasing two Dartz Prombron armored SUV’s from Latvia. They can retail for around $400,000, but the way Kanye has labeled his “North West Protection Mobiles” come to about $1 million each. While one of the rides is a ‘cheaper’ version (only about $800K or so) the more expensive of the two, the ‘Prombron Iron Diamond’ model (valued approximately at $1.2 million) is able to withstand attacks from landmines and rocket-propelled grenades, because that’s exactly what you need driving around the streets of Calabasas, California. You never know why you might run into the “Bieber”. The ‘cheaper’ version is essentially a spiced up version of what the President of the United States rolls around in. On the plus side, being the good husband he is, West has requested Dartz to expedite the shipping of the vehicles so baby momma Kim Kardashian can have one before Yeezus begins his US tour this October. Down goes Holyfield! Evander Holyfield Finally Moves Out Of His Foreclosed Atlanta Home According to TMZ reports : Evander Holyfield couldn’t fight his way outta this one … the former heavyweight champ is finally moving out of his foreclosed Georgia mansion after failing to strike a deal with the bank. TMZ broke the story … Holyfield owed more than $14 million on the 54,000 square foot mega-mansion … which was recently sold at a foreclosure auction for $7.5 million. After the sale, the bank that purchased the home allowed Evander to continue to live there temporarily … but judging by the moving trucks lined up at his front door … it seems he’s finally worn out his welcome. We’re told the trucks spent several hours at the mansion — though it’s unclear where the movers are taking E.H.’s stuff. Holyfield obviously has some major financial problems — besides the foreclosure, he owes a ton of cash in unpaid federal taxes … plus, he’s up to his mangled ears in back child support payments. Tyga Encourages West Coast MCs To Be ‘More Worldly’

Young Money rapper, who was born in California, visits ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Tyga Photo: MTV News This week, MTV is celebrating the “New West” by spotlighting California-bred artists like Odd Future, Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies and, of course, this week’s “RapFix Live” guest Tyga. Sitting with MTV News’ Sway Calloway, Tyga commented on L.A.’s new sound, remarking that the new crop of Cali spitters fair better when employing a more-universal sound. It’s this attitude that Tyga said has helped rookie West Coast rappers make their mark in a post-gangsta-rap era. “I don’t think it’s that hard to break out of L.A. because there are a lot of new artists out,” he said. While the West Coast was traditionally associated with N.W.A. and Dr. Dre’s signature sound, things have been changing over the past few years. “Back in the day, when you had N.W.A., that was the sound for music, and a lot of L.A. artists sound like they’re from L.A. when they rap and stuff, and a lot of people around the world won’t relate as much,” said Tyga, who is currently signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. “Odd Future, for example: [The group’s frontman] Tyler don’t sound like he from L.A., so he can get out to more people and his music can be more worldly because it’s a new sound.” Do you agree with Tyga about L.A.’s sound?
