Stop Being Greedy! DMX Ghostwriter Dame Grease Files $2 Mill Suit Against Ralo Harrison For Allegedly Stealing Music Royalties (Exclusive)

Music Vet Dame Grease Says Rasheed “ Ralo” Harrison Screwed Him Out Of Royalties The co-writer for DMX’ s hit “Stop Being Greedy” wants a man he believes stole his royalties to do just that. One of hip hop’ most prolific songwriter/producers – who helped to hone the Ruff Ryders’ sound – has sued a fellow music industry veteran for orchestrating a music royalty theft scam. Dame Grease has filed a $2 million lawsuit against Wonder Boy Publishing head  Rasheed “Ralo” Harrison for tortious interference with contract, alleging he straight up stole Grease’s extensive publishing catalog from right under his and the record label’s nose. According to court papers obtained by BOSSIP, Grease said he inked a publishing deal with Sony 20 years ago where the company would oversee his catalog and he would retain 50 percent of his copyrights. But the writer said he believes Harrison forged his signature and illegally took over ownership of the catalog, and Grease said Sony hasn’t provided an accounting of his royalties for seven years. Sony/ATV Music Publishing and BMG Rights Management are also named as defendants for breach of contract, Grease’s amended complaint, which was filed Nov. 4, states. Grease is being represented by Lita Rosario, who also litigated Big Pun’s widow’s back royalty case against Fat Joe a few years back. “Actually, my first thought was to get on some street s**t,” Grease told BOSSIP about when he learned of the alleged fraud. “With selling 60 million records, I knew the residuals weren’t coming back. I was seeing royalty statements for a couple of hundred dollars.” The ghostwriter, who helped pen and produce classics from the late 1990s including Nore and Nas’ “Body In The Trunk,” The Lox’s “We’ll Always Love Big Poppa,” and most of DMX’s debut album, “It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot,” said he believes he’s not Harrison’s only alleged victim and wouldn’t be surprised if other big names sue him for compensation in the future. Grease, who is supporting two of his children in college, said he wants his catalog back, an accounting from Sony on how they allegedly dropped the ball and his back royalties plus punitive damages. We’ve reached out to Harrison’s lawyer, who said he was not involved in the case declined to comment.

In the video, Meg gave fans an inside look in her new life as one of the hottest femcee’s in the game. View this post on Instagram @voguemagazine followed your favorite hot girl around for the day !!! Link in bio! Ps. they caught Johnathan being the charger thief he really is A post shared by Hot Girl Meg (@theestallion) on Oct 22, 2019 at 9:40am PDT In a portion of the video, Megan get candid with Vogue about her love for makeup and hair , her late mother’s influence and crafting makeup looks on her own. And that’s when things took a turn. Her former makeup artist Akil commented under the post saying, “Makeup By Akilaface.” Once Megan got wind, an argument via Instagram ensued. Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Akil stands by the fact that he should have been credited in the Vogue video as her makeup artist, whereas Meg was fired back saying that she indeed does her own makeup and that of he had a problem he should have contacted her directly. While it seemed as if words were continued to be exchanged between the two, Megan has clearly had enough. According to TMZ , Megan’s lawyer sent Akil a cease and desist letter. In other words, Akil needs to delete his comments on Meg’s page and stop speaking about their former professional relationship. A clear violation of their nondisclosure agreement, it’s said that if Akil doesn’t take the appropriate actions, he may be heading to court. View this post on Instagram @ejking21 and @akilaface got me together today for Beautycon A post shared by Hot Girl Meg (@theestallion) on Aug 11, 2019 at 4:53pm PDT While the whole fiasco had social media taking sides on the matter, the truth is, Megan has said multiple times that she has done her own makeup. On the occasions, Akil hasn’t said a word to counteract what she’s said. Many people believe that he wanted the notoriety of being mentioned in Vogue , while others agree that he should be credited for his work. Qveen Herby Drops Ear-Pleasing, Kaleidoscopic ‘EP 7’ [Stream]

See original here:

Source: Qveen Herby / Qveen Herby Reinvention is often difficult for musical acts, especially those who achieved recognition at a level that may have suffocated their true artistic aims. For Qveen Herby , shaking loose the ghosts of music’s past has come relatively easy and she lands full circle with the release of her latest project, EP 7 . Some might remember Qveen Herby as one-half of the viral YouTube duo Karmin , who blew up after their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” which led to a major record deal. However, the crushing weight of corporate meddling and a burning desire to be true to herself moved Qveen to embrace Hip-Hop music in a more organic fashion that still manages to capture the playful bounce of her past group. Now in the front all alone, Qveen has dropped her latest set, EP 7 , a matter of fact title that illustrates the number of short projects she’s released over the past two years with her ex-Karmin partner and boyfriend Jedii Nick on the boards willfully playing the back while Qveen takes centerstage. EP 7 is a kaleidoscopic audio journey that has the high-gloss sheen and sound of big pop tunes skilfully meshed with the hard, head nod-inducing bop of trap-influenced Hip-Hop. As a rapper, Qveen’s verbal dexterity and lyrical stylings are at times comically boastful yet entirely believable. Yes, the pop stylings are audibly present but this time, the music doesn’t feel packaged to only be played in some artisanal coffee joint for college kids who wear thick-soled shoes for an ironic fashion effect.   EP 7 sounds like an album from a woman who knows exactly who she’s speaking to and for, all the while paying reverence to those who came before her with a chest-out bravado that her male counterparts in Hip-Hop wield fearlessly. With its lead single “Cheap Talk,” it would be fair to say that few would know what to expect of Qveen and that’s true across the five-song, 11-minute journey on EP 7 . To go along with the EP’s release, a video for the project’s lead track “Vitamins” was also unveiled to the public. When asked what Qveen Herby’s aims are with just dropping EPs over a full-length, she answered as confidently. “I love dropping EPs cuz it’s basically half an album every few months,” Qveen told us. “My team keeps getting tighter, I’m honing my craft, and my artistic vision for Qveen Herby is becoming more refined. Even my visuals have evolved to show more of my quirky persona and lean into my uniqueness. You can hear and see me becoming my true self through my EPs.” She added in her comments that she hopes to tour in the coming year and reconnect with her legion of fans across the globe, especially those who have stayed along for the ride to the switch from Karmin to Qveen Herby. In a tweet from last month, Qveen mentioned fellow fierce firebrand Rico Nasty after seeing the “Big T*tties” star in one of her dreams. When asked if their pair will collab soon, it appears that the idea is fresh on Qveen’s mind. “I have yet to connect with Rico Nasty but she’s so brilliant, saw her perform on tour with my friend/goddess Maliibu Miitch this past spring,” she shared. Check out Qveen Herby’s excellent EP 7 in the streams below. Learn more about Qveen Herby and cop the six previous joints here . — Photo: Qveen Herby
