Following Virginity Comments T.I.’s daughter might be none too pleased about the firestorm of controversy her father caused by commenting on her virginity. As previously reported Tip went viral after he appeared on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast and admitted that he’s interested in making sure his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah remains pure, so much so that actually attends her gynecologist appointments to ensure her hymen is intact. The virginity comments got Tip OBLITERATED on social media by folks who labeled him a misogynist for participating in a patriarchal practice. This girl on Instagram posted the best mental breakdown images ever. Here is her caption: “Was in the longest deepest depressive episode in my life. Feel much better. Will stay in Tokyo for a while. Tried to control myself from panic attack but instead had hyperventilation when I was alone in my home and didn’t know who to call for help. I’ve been thinking probably in another dimension I already bye byed and this present version of me actually is not the same me. This is another dimension~ Depressive episode will always come back (especially the season changing, it’s too scary) and it’s a truth that I already accepted, don’t know when is the next time, and I believed the one I just overcame must not be the most serious one. Even just think about this makes me feel tired. But there’s nothing I can do. I always feel grateful that I can walk on the street like normal people. And it always comes back when I almost forgot how precious it is being functional like a normal human. And I haven’t felt this peaceful for months.” I guess this is evidence that social media is good for people’s souls. Everyone lost, trying to find angles, talking craziness about not knowing what is real or not, because they live in a fucking screen, getting naked for attention, going viral and now an expert or lifestyle influencer for all to get great life tips and tricks from…the dark instagram artist stripped down eating plane toilet paper for shock value…when if she was really a depressive..she wouldn’t be doing performance art, she’d off her useless, nippleless self…but they never do…they just keep up this ridiculousness and we watch cuz the no nipple thing is a new fetish since seeing those ANGELINA JOLIE PICS the other day…right. Source: Jerritt Clark / Getty Poor Deyjah! T.I. Reveals He Intrusively Attends Daughter Deyjah’s Gynecologist Appointments This is an inappropriate and intrusive practice rooted in patriarchy, Tip. T.I. recently made a shocking revelation that’s going viral. The rap dad was a guest on Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham’s “Ladies Like Us” podcast and spoke on a number of things including marriage advice for Nazanin who recently married her longtime love Miguel. Things were especially interesting however when the group discussed parenting and the “sex talk.” According to T.I. he’s not only had the sex talk with his kids, but he’s also especially interested in making sure his second-oldest daughter Deyjah remains pure. According to T.I. he makes it a point to make sure the 18-year-old isn’t sexually active and actually attends her gynecologist appointments to ensure her hymen is intact. View this post on Instagram set: @fashionnova #AD A post shared by Deyjah Harris (@princess_of_da_south) on Oct 4, 2019 at 2:20pm PDT Tip said he’s been doing this practice since his daughter’s 16th birthday and brushed off a doctor telling him that a woman’s hymen could be broken in different ways other than sexual activity. “Have I? This is the thing. Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself,” he said. “And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” said Tip while the hosts laughed. “So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday. This is what we do. Right after the birthday we celebrate,” he said. “Usually like the day after the party she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.’ So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism. He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? See doc? No problem.’ And so then they come and say, ‘Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.’ So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously. ‘” He also proudly told the ladies that as of Deyjah’s 18th birthday, “her hymen is still intact” and he thinks it’s a surefire way to keep boys away from the college student. “They’re no fun. Who wants a virgin?” he asked. “Like really? All that work!” Tip, this is pretty problematic and it’s causing a firestorm of controversy from folks who can’t believe that T.I. is policing his daughter’s body. People are also wondering if he was THIS interested in his sons remaining virgins. Source: ERIC BARADAT / Getty The 28-year-old who was fatally stabbed outside a Popeyes restaurant has been identified and folks are sending their condolences. According to WJLA , Kevin Tyrell Davis of Oxon Hill, Maryland was the victim of the stabbing, which occurred after an altercation over the restaurant’s popular chicken sandwich . This is a photo of the victim provided to @ABC7Brad by a friend. He has been identified as 28-year-old Kevin Tyrell Davis of Oxon Hill. pic.twitter.com/eQ3aGaZYzL — ABC 7 News – WJLA (@ABC7News) November 5, 2019 According to officials, an argument between two men began inside the restaurant located at 6247 Livingston Road, reportedly while the victim was waiting in line for the sandwich. The argument then transitioned outside on the street where the victim was stabbed. Davis was pronounced dead about an hour later at a local hospital. “Our homicide detectives are hard at work on this one, but we have been able to determine preliminarily that this is related to the release of the sandwich here at this restaurant,” explained Jennifer Donelan , the Prince George’s County Police Department’s media relations director. Investigators believe the argument came about because Davis cut the line. “It’s something we have to question in terms of how we’re interacting with one another as a society, is how does a confrontation over cutting line lead to a death,” Chief Hank Stawinski said at a press conference on Tuesday. “What bothers me about this…is that there are families and children in this restaurant as this is unfolding and they’ve been exposed to this now as well. This is pointless. This is disrespectful.” The suspect for the crime is still at large, and cops are asking witnesses to come forward to assist with identifying him. They released store photos shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, tributes have already started pouring in for Davis, who was known as Oside KD, according to the DailyMail.com. “I failed you. I’m sorry #longlive KD,” one person shared on Instagram, who claimed to be his cousin. “LongLiveKD Another Bro From the Lawd. Senseless,” another friend added. On Tuesday, friends of Davis stopped by the Oxon Hill Popeyes location to lay out candles that spelled his name and to put up flowers as a makeshift memorial. Although Popeyes hasn’t made a statement on social media regarding the incident, a representative for the restaurant chain told DailyMail.com, “What happened in Maryland last night is a tragedy and we are saddened to hear about this senseless act of violence. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends. We, along with the franchisee, are fully cooperating with local authorities and actively working to gather more information.” SEE ALSO: Tom Steyer Urged To Drop Out After Aide Stole Kamala Harris’ Voter Data White Woman Calls Black Cop The N-Word, Dares Him To Shoot Her And He Obliges
Source: Qveen Herby / Qveen Herby Reinvention is often difficult for musical acts, especially those who achieved recognition at a level that may have suffocated their true artistic aims. For Qveen Herby , shaking loose the ghosts of music’s past has come relatively easy and she lands full circle with the release of her latest project, EP 7 . Some might remember Qveen Herby as one-half of the viral YouTube duo Karmin , who blew up after their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” which led to a major record deal. However, the crushing weight of corporate meddling and a burning desire to be true to herself moved Qveen to embrace Hip-Hop music in a more organic fashion that still manages to capture the playful bounce of her past group. Now in the front all alone, Qveen has dropped her latest set, EP 7 , a matter of fact title that illustrates the number of short projects she’s released over the past two years with her ex-Karmin partner and boyfriend Jedii Nick on the boards willfully playing the back while Qveen takes centerstage. EP 7 is a kaleidoscopic audio journey that has the high-gloss sheen and sound of big pop tunes skilfully meshed with the hard, head nod-inducing bop of trap-influenced Hip-Hop. As a rapper, Qveen’s verbal dexterity and lyrical stylings are at times comically boastful yet entirely believable. Yes, the pop stylings are audibly present but this time, the music doesn’t feel packaged to only be played in some artisanal coffee joint for college kids who wear thick-soled shoes for an ironic fashion effect. EP 7 sounds like an album from a woman who knows exactly who she’s speaking to and for, all the while paying reverence to those who came before her with a chest-out bravado that her male counterparts in Hip-Hop wield fearlessly. With its lead single “Cheap Talk,” it would be fair to say that few would know what to expect of Qveen and that’s true across the five-song, 11-minute journey on EP 7 . To go along with the EP’s release, a video for the project’s lead track “Vitamins” was also unveiled to the public. When asked what Qveen Herby’s aims are with just dropping EPs over a full-length, she answered as confidently. “I love dropping EPs cuz it’s basically half an album every few months,” Qveen told us. “My team keeps getting tighter, I’m honing my craft, and my artistic vision for Qveen Herby is becoming more refined. Even my visuals have evolved to show more of my quirky persona and lean into my uniqueness. You can hear and see me becoming my true self through my EPs.” She added in her comments that she hopes to tour in the coming year and reconnect with her legion of fans across the globe, especially those who have stayed along for the ride to the switch from Karmin to Qveen Herby. In a tweet from last month, Qveen mentioned fellow fierce firebrand Rico Nasty after seeing the “Big T*tties” star in one of her dreams. When asked if their pair will collab soon, it appears that the idea is fresh on Qveen’s mind. “I have yet to connect with Rico Nasty but she’s so brilliant, saw her perform on tour with my friend/goddess Maliibu Miitch this past spring,” she shared. Check out Qveen Herby’s excellent EP 7 in the streams below. Learn more about Qveen Herby and cop the six previous joints here . — Photo: Qveen Herby
Source: Smoove Gal / Smoove Gal With social media so saturated with products being thrown at us, it often feels like we’re in a daze just swiping on our feeds. But a few months ago, something rare happened to me. During my normal timeline graze, I came across something that grabbed my attention and made me ask myself, “Wait a minute, what is this?!” See, someone on my timeline retweeted one of the dopest structured eye palettes I have ever seen. First, shaped like a pyramid, SmooveGal Beauty’s three-dimensional Egyptian Paradise Palette ($40) boasts a whopping 24 deeply pigmented hues, ranging from an emerald green matte to a champagne neutral shimmer. With a range like that, there’s something for every look, trend and season of the year, which I adore. Even better: The EP palette was created by Autumn Hulett , a 20-year-old Black woman who attends Prairie View A&M University. (I super adore) I NEED EVERYONE TO RETWEET THIS ! The makeup community needs a 3 dimensional eyeshadow palette invented by a black woman in their households !!!! This is SERIOUS! https://t.co/ZhbpVh0MuQ — Undeniably Dope Individual (@FlyBrownHuniee) September 3, 2019 After seeing the viral tweet, I just had to know more about the woman behind the product. Doing some research, I found that SmooveGal initially started with a lash line before Hulett decided to expand to shadows. I reached out to Hulett and from our phone conversation, I was super impressed with her professionalism, eye for design and utter passion for the beauty game. Here’s what the incredible marketing major had to say about her EP palette, breaking into the industry and what’s up next. HelloBeautiful: So, please tell me. Where did SmooveGal come from? Autumn Hulett: Well, I had this job in high school, but I got fired because I didn’t want to drive across town to go to work. (Laughs) But I knew I needed money. Coming from a family of hustlers, I knew how to make it work. So I started SmooveGal and initially started selling accessories and wallets. But I was also really into beauty and I love switching up my look so people don’t recognize me. At the time, I also loved wearing lashes and would go to the beauty supply store down the road and buy a pack of $1 lashes and I would end up spending $40 because they didn’t last. I was wasting my money and that’s when it hit me that I needed to create, buy and sell my lashes. HB: Well, and being at an HBCU with so many Black women, you have the perfect market right at your fingertips. AH : Exactly. Black women are the largest consumers when it comes to beauty and makeup. Plus, [a lot] of Black women are really into lashes! So I came out with my line freshman year after I got a refund check and was like, “Let’s do this!” I started dragging a big old wagon of lashes around campus, but the wagon was too small, so I googled “hot dog” cart,” bought one for $300, fixed it up and started selling my lashes out of that. HB: That is so awesome! So you went from lashes to shadows? AH: Sophomore year I was my dorm chilling and I just asked myself what if I did a pyramid palette and what If it was 3-dimensional? OH SNAP! [Laughs). So I looked around and had all of these old lash boxes and I started cutting them and began carving out the idea. I took a mirror from an old palette and started gluing, taping and cutting holes into things. From there, I tried to get it into production and I was told no a lot. Folks told me it’s impossible and that no one would be able to create it. But I found someone who could do it. HB: Walk me through the shadows and the structure. I’ve never seen anything like it before. AH: Well, there are 24 shades, with 6 colors on each of the four panels. The middle is the mirror and it can stand up on its own, be a vanity to go or just a decorative piece in your room. HB: How did you end up picking the shadows. AH: I have a lot of friends at my HBCU that are makeup artists and I asked them did they mind using my shadows on their customers. I also wanted feedback, honest feedback such as which shadows worked better than others, which were easier to blend, you name it. I didn’t want them to let up on me. If these shadows sucked, let me know. What they told me was helpful, because I needed to make sure these colors showed up on and worked for Black women. Source: Smoove Gal / Smoove Gal HB: With names such as Isis and Nubia, what is the palette’s theme? AH: While anyone can and should use the palette, it’s an ode to Black women and an ode to Egyptian culture. That mattered to me. To do the research, make sure I got it right. Goodmorning orders are going out this morning pic.twitter.com/jfk9B35Ddx — Undeniably Dope Individual (@FlyBrownHuniee) November 4, 2019 HB: Did you expect the response to your palette to be this overwhelming? That tweet went viral girl. AH: Never! I mean, I know have this great concept, but I didn’t think it would be like that. I am just happy that people are recognizing how dope it is and looks. HB: This is such a great time to be a Black woman in beauty. From Mented to Fenty, it’s so great to see this product be part of the landscape, BUT be so different than what’s already out there. AH: Thank you. I try to stay humble because I am still a baby out here. I’m literally just someone out of Texas, an HBCU, but no one has seen this before. And God forbid Rihanna or Kylie comes out with some crazy spaceship concept, but all in all, I did this, first and I am proud of that. HB: As you should be. Finally, what’s next for you and SmoothGal? AH: Well…I can’t say too much other than it will be a whole stepping outside the box and that the next collection, which should come out next spring, will be related to the EP palette too. BEAUTIES: The EP palette is now 20 percent off ($32)! Purchase it here. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. Source: James Devaney / Getty Over the weekend, Kanye West was getting dragged on Twitter when a photo surfaced of a struggle $55 breakfast plate from Brunchella he attended. The initial belief was that Ye was responsible for the meal, but TMZ reports that is not the case at all. Kanye West and his choir performed at the annual Brunchella fundraising event held at Bethany Church, located in Baton Rouge on Friday. Guests who attended were charged $55 per plate, and one attendee shared to the world his Fyre Fest-inspired meal, which consisted of sausage, pancakes, and two pieces of struggle bacon. West immediately caught all the flack on Twitter for the plate, but TMZ exclusively reports that it was the catering company’s fault, not MAGA Ye. Per TMZ : Kanye and team came under fire … with people accusing him of being the one who was charging for the subpar meal. However, we’re told it was quite the opposite … in fact, Kanye didn’t receive any money to perform Friday and covered all travel costs for his choir as well. The catering company behind the meal, Lauryn’s Fine Catering, tells us, “The catering company acknowledges it did not provide adequate food for ONE attendee and a social media post went viral.” They continue, “Kanye West and the Sunday Service collective should be disassociated with such claims surrounding the food at the event.” We initially reported that Kanye probably had nothing to do with the meal, but its quite fitting he was apart of an event that produced such a despicable serving of food, to begin with.— Photo: James Devaney / Getty
