Having done similar contests in the past , the Texas artist will join forces with E-40 and FUBU’s Daymond John to launch a competition that will grant seed money to the next great minority or woman-owned startup. Chamillionaire was on CNBC Monday to discuss the new competition, mentioning in the chat that the trio will be working with equity investment firm Republic as he’s done in times past with E-40. This time, the stakes are higher and the startup has the potential to win $100,000 for their idea or company. While talking with CNBC, Chamillionaire made note that he finds it baffling that venture capitalists claim they can’t find African-American projects to fund, this after he attended the AfroTech conference in Oakland, Ca. this past weekend and came across thousands of tech workers and entrepreneurs of color. Abbott To Stop His Execution Amid New Evidence Rodney Reed is scheduled to be executed in Texas on November 20th. He’s been on death row for 21 years for the 1996 murder of Stacey Stites in Bastrop, Texas. Police claim Reed assaulted, raped and strangled Stites, but he has ALWAYS maintained his innocence . The case has drawn significant media attention, with Reed gaining support from a number of public figures including Kim Kardashian , Dr. Phil and Shaun King all rallying for his execution to be stopped and another suspect to be thoroughly investigated. A post shared by Shaun King (@shaunking) on Nov 3, 2019 at 7:28am PST Much of the support for Reed comes on the heels of former inmate Arthur Snow Jr. filing an affidavit in court earlier this week saying Stites’ fiancé, Jimmy Fennell, confessed to the murder years ago. In 2010, while Snow was serving a sentence for forgery at a DeWitt County, TX prison when he made a deal with Fennell, who was seeking protection from other prisoners, according to the affidavit. At the time Snow was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood gang. According to CNN reports, Snow’s affidavit states he was in the prison yard with Fennell when he began bragging about killing Stites: “Jimmy said his fiancé had been sleeping around with a black man behind his back,” Snow wrote. “Toward the end of the conversation Jimmy said confidently, ‘I had to kill my n*****- loving fiancé,’” he added. “My impression was the Jimmy felt safe, even proud, sharing this information with me because I was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood. I think Jimmy assumed that his confession would impress me and earn him credibility with the Aryan Brotherhood.” SMH. Snow claims he didn’t know about Reed’s case until a few years ago when he saw a photo of Fennell along with an article about Reed while he was jailed in Texas’ Hays County for a different offense. He says in his affidavit that that is when he realized Reed had been imprisoned for the murder Fennell confessed to him. In the meantime, Fennell’s attorney, Robert Phillips, said Snow is a career criminal and his claim is not credible nor in the “world of reality.” It’s worth noting that Jimmy Fennell served time in prison for rape years after Stites murder, but his attorney notes he’s since been released and has converted to Christianity and been helping people with drug addictions, Phillips said. Fennell, who is a former police officer, was identified as a suspect during the police investigation into Stites’ killing, but he was never formerly charged. Reed’s attorneys filed an application for clemency last week as they attempt to block his execution. According to CNN reports , Bryce Benjet, a senior staff attorney at the Innocence Project and Reed’s lead counsel, said evidence clearly shows that Reed did not kill Stites. “Mr. Reed’s execution is less than one month away, meaning Texas is frighteningly close to executing an innocent man,” Benjet said in a statement. Between the medical and scientific evidence, and multiple new, credible witnesses, the original case trial has been completely deconstructed and disproven.” In the meantime, Reed’s supporters are asking for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to intervene and stop his execution.

Beaumont Texas Inmates Escape Prison Several Times, Bring Back Whiskey And Cellphones Four inmates who boldly escaped from their federal prison “several times” for a booze run are going viral. The men identified as Julian Lemus, 34; Leo Martinez, 25; Silevstre Rico, 35; and Robert Young, 45 were recently caught after authorities were alerted that they were regularly escaping from and returning to the Federal Prison Complex in Beaumont, Texas. A spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office posted the group on social media and reported details; the men were caught Friday while leaving the prison and cutting through a neighboring ranch. The spokesman added that they were carrying contraband in bags, including whiskey and cellphones. This is reportedly their constant M.O. FREE THE GUYS.

Atatiana Koquice Jefferson, 28, died Saturday after a Forth Worth, Texas officer opened fire on her inside her house. NBC Dallas-Forth Worth reports that a neighbor called the police to report that Jefferson’s door was open. An officer who arrived on the scene peered into Atatiana’s window and spotted her and yelled, “Put your hands up — show me your hands,” before opening fire and shooting her. The young woman was shot once and although aid was rendered she was pronounced dead. The officer who killed Atatiana has yet to be identified but authorities tell NBC he’s on administrative leave pending an investigation. He’s also been confirmed as white. Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price released a statement on the shooting. “Writing a statement like this is tragic and something that should never be necessary. A young woman has lost her life, leaving her family in unbelievable grief. All of Fort Worth must surround Atatiana Jefferson’s family with prayers, love and support,” Price said. Mayor Price has promised a “complete and thorough investigation” to be conducted by Police Chief Ed Kraus, which will then be forwarded to the Tarrant County District Attorney Law Enforcement Incident Team. This is so incredibly tragic and sad. We’re thinking of the family and friends of Atatiana who lost their loved one for absolutely no reason.

Alaskan Bush People fans are still reeling from the news that Bear Brown and Raiven are expecting a child even though they broke up . But Bear isn’t the only one of Billy’s children who’s making headlines this month. One if Billy’s daughter’s is roasting her old man — and every other member of the family. This month, Billy Brown’s estranged Texan daughter took to Facebook to sharply shade her entire extended family. “I’ve never been the average person, walking with the herd or conforming to the masses,” Twila Byars’ post begins. She continues, admitting that she was “at some point thinking I was somewhat abnormal according to the ‘normal.'” So far, of course, she sounds like she’s in lock step with her numerous half-siblings up in Washington. But,a s you’ll see, she is of a different opinion. “So I had an Epiphany today after reading a few things,” Twila shares with her followers. WIth context, we’re guessing that she read some reports about the Brown family. Twila says that she has come to realize “that IM ACTUALLY THE NORMAL ONE IN MY D.N.A. Lineage!” Note that she does not use the word “family” or “father.” That speaks volumes. “Normal, average, and boring never felt so good,” her post concludes. If you don’t know who Twila Byars is … we don’t blame you. For decades she has lived in Texas while Billy lived in Alaska, then Beverly Hills, and now Washington with Ami and their children. But yes, she is Billy’s daughter. Reports say that the two have spoken from time to time, though “keep in touch” doesn’t mean that they speak frequently. She also appeared briefly on Alaskan Bush People in 2016. So what could Tila possibly mean when she puts Billy and seemingly his and Ami’s entire brood on blast? They are, after all, her half-siblings. And Rain, if you’ll recall, is still a minor. But we have to guess that this is at least partially about Bear Brown. The self-described King of Extreme got engaged late in August of this year. He and Raiven, his hot model girlfriend, were so excited … until they broke up, not two weeks later. A two week engagement must be a record, even for reality shows. But that wasn’t the end of their story. After resolving to remain friends, the two of them had another announcement that caught even them by surprise. Raiven is pregnant by Bear. While the two have wisely decided to co-parent as friends, it’s definitely unexpected news. Baby announcements may come before or after the engagement, but seldom after the breakup. Tila may have been taking aim at that. That said, she could have been talking about almost anything. Rumor has it that Gabe and his girlfriend, Raquell, may have been rushed into their own engagement. Then there’s Matt Brown’s extensive struggle with alcohol abuse and his recent resolve to keep on the striaght and narrow. We hope that it’s not about the latter. Addiction is a serious ailment. Source: Rodin Eckenroth / Getty Will & Jada Were Worried Jaden Smith Was Wasting Away On His Vegan Diet Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith became really worried about their son Jaden’s diet when he tried going vegan at one point. The couple expressed this concern on Monday’s episode of Red Table Talk , where the entire Smith family sat down and discussed their relationships with food. This all happened after Will called an “emergency” meeting with them, along with Willow, Trey, and Adrienne Banfield-Jones. The family all ended up admitting that their relationship with food wasn’t the healthiest. The conversation began with Will opening up about gaining weight on a recent vacation and being deemed “Pudgemuffin” by the women in his family, saying that for him, eating food is “like an addict.” On the other hand, Jada and Jaden are the exact opposite. Both of them said that they would rather not eat than snack throughout the day, calling it “uncomfortable.” That’s when Will and Jada discussed the intervention they had for their son. “Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein,” Jada explained. “So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients.” Will also said that Jaden had “dark circles” under his eyes. “There was even a little grayness to his skin,” Will continued. “We got really nervous. But you’re definitely looking better now.” Jaden went on to clarify that he’s now vegetarian after trying to be vegan, then went on to further explain his eating habits. “I was just eating like two meals a day…maybe one. That was the case for one Texas man who attempted to divorce his wife without her consent. 51-year old Paul Nixon submitted forged documents and false information to a Houston district court in an attempt to end his union with Mrs. Nixon. According to the New York Daily News , Nixon also reportedly committed perjury when testifying in court during a divorce hearing. Authorities say the divorce has been set aside due to the fraudulent filing. Fox 6 News reports: Authorities received a call on May 14 from a woman who said her husband had allegedly completed the divorce and that a court already filed the final decree. Through the investigation, authorities found that Nixon forged documents and submitted false information to the court. He also allegedly submitted a waiver of service with a forged signature from a notary. Mark Herman of Harris County Constable Precinct 4 said that Nixon committed aggravated perjury when he testified during the final hearing on the validity of the documents and information. Authorities are currently still on the hunt for Nixon.
