Tracee Ellis Ross Is Total Curl-Fection On Allure Cover

Source: Morgan Lieberman / Getty Tracee Ellis Ross is truly having her own Bad B*tch Fall . Not only did the 47-year-old stunner launch her natural hair care line Pattern , she’s back this season for black-ish and mixed-ish (a comedy she narrates, co-created and produces), but she’s been killing the magazine game. Not only was she the cover girl for Glamour UK’s November issue , but she is gracing us again on the cover of Allure . As part of their “See Yourself, See Each Other,” series partnership with Ulta , Ross looks fresh on their digital cover rocking a brown Bottega Veneta jumpsuit, a Gucci earring (worn as a brooch) and Mateo green drop earrings. Of course, she used her own Pattern products to achieve her signature curls.   View this post on Instagram “It’s about taking up space. It’s about being who you are and being supported in that and being loved for that. For that exact thing that is who you are.” @traceeellisross opened up to Allure about her thoughts on self-acceptance and how it served as inspiration in the creation of her new hair care line @PatternBeauty. Too often, covers are aggressively lit and photoshopped, but not this one.) In her interview , Ross admits that she worried that for the initial launch of Pattern at Ulta, they were going to stock too much product, but she soon realized that within days all 1200 Ulta locations basically sold out of her line. She also shares what this line for Black women means to her. “It was about actually expanding the paradigm and allowing us to see ourselves in all of our beauty,” Ross tells Allure. “To have our beauty reflected back to us in imagery and in [a] narrative that was about who we are, and our legacy and our power.”   View this post on Instagram “You’ll spend years holding yourself to a beauty standard that doesn’t make space for you.” For this special edition digital cover, we talked to @TraceeEllisRoss about her mission as an actress, executive producer, and beauty entrepreneur. A post shared by British Vogue (@britishvogue) on Nov 7, 2019 at 8:56am PST   The “Cuz I Love You” singer opened up in the interview, speaking candidly about a range of topics including how anxiety fuels her as a performer. “When I get really, really anxious before a show, I just go harder and harder and harder when I’m performing and I just go crazy,” she says. “I don’t know why, but my anxiety sometimes fuels who I am as a performer and who I am as an artist – and I know that is not the case for everyone. I don’t know if my body just, like, out of a desperate need to find a place for my anxiety or find a use for it, takes it and puts it there,” the Houston-raised rapper admitted.   View this post on Instagram “I want you to know that if you can love me, you can love your goddamn self.” Born in Detroit to a religious family and raised in Texas, Melissa Jefferson, a.k.a. A post shared by British Vogue (@britishvogue) on Nov 7, 2019 at 9:16am PST   On the lack of plus-sized representation in pop culture growing up: “I would watch things on television and I would look at magazines and I would not see myself. When you don’t see yourself, you start to think something’s wrong with you. Then you want to look like those things and when you realize it’s a physical impossibility, you start to think, ‘What the f**k is wrong with me?’ I think that took a greater toll on me, psychologically, growing up than what anyone could have said to me.”   View this post on Instagram “I’m not trying to sell you me, I’m trying to sell you, you.” In today’s image-obsessed age, @LizzoBeeating is a megawatt beacon of self-assurance – so utterly herself that it is impossible for it not to rub off on you. A post shared by British Vogue (@britishvogue) on Nov 7, 2019 at 10:02am PST   On people ( perhaps Azaelia Banks ) who believe Lizzo is using body positivity to gain popularity, Lizzo had this to say: “Anybody that uses body positivity to sell something is using it for their personal gain. That’s just it. We weren’t selling anything in the beginning. We were just selling ourselves and selling ourselves on the idea – selling ourselves on ourselves, you know? I’m not trying to sell you me. I’m trying to sell you, you.” LOVE IT! You better tell ’em! In an accompanying video, Lizzo keeps it 100 about her “first acts,” which she shared that she was hungover shooting her Vogue cover, that her first memories of music were gospel music and the first album she ever bought was Destiny Child’s “Survivor.” Take a look: Congrats Lizzo! Kaia Gerber Squats of the Day

Kaia Gerber looking like some kind of pre-mature preemie weirdo freak that was fed her mom’s prescription pills and occasional cocaine use when at her husband’s rich people drinking tequila from some tequila distillery they found when in Cabo doing rich Malibu people things…OH DIS. I like skinny girls doing fitness with their skinny asses out, but she looks underdeveloped, from some mom being a stage parent and ensuring she stays hungry, never fat, she has a family legacy to live up to… I guess she’s living in NYC taking the model thing serious in an attempt to do big things, like get a Victorias’ Secret contract for 1,000,000 dollars a year, you know doing that meaningful work you should be doing after being given that gift that is a rich as fuck family with resources to do anything, and by anything I mean squats for the perverts of the internet…dreams do come true…for the perverts more than the rich kids with no souls who will just end up dead of an overdose at some point or another…give it time… TO SEE MORE PICS OF KAIA GERBER CLICK HERE JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES! ‘Lady & The Tramp’ Brings Our Favorite Childhood Story To Life With Millennial Twists

Read the original post:

Source: Disney / Disney Disney has been showing off all 2019 and bringing magic to real life with their live action flicks like The Lion King and Aladdin . And in about two weeks, you can add Lady and the Tramp to the list of live action Disney remakes that made you experience the bliss of your childhood imagination IRL. We got a chance to visit the Savannah, Georgia set of the Charlie Bean directed film last year, and hung out with the phenomenal and eclectic cast and crew — including three of the stars of the movie, Kiersey Clemons , Thomas Mann and Yvette Nicole Brown . The live action version of the classic film tells a similar story to the original Disney version: An upper-middle-class American cocker spaniel named Lady who meets a streetsmart, downtown stray Schnauzer called the Tramp, and the two embark on many romantic adventures including that iconic spaghetti smooch scene.” However, this time around, the cast is much more diverse in race and age. Thomas and Kiersey play a young couple with a little baby living a super adult life. Thomas told us about landing the role: I was super excited because I never been apart of a Disney before and I was huge fan of Lady and the Tramp as a kid. So obviously it was a no brainer. But I was like ‘Ugh, there’s probably gonna be a lot of guys trying out for this.’ And I also thought I was too young. But obviously that wasn’t the case. I only had to audition one time, then I got it after that. And Kiersey was cast just before me so it was amazing that they put us together. We’re both so young, living this adult life. He even had to grow a mustache for the role. As for Kiersey, she fell in love with the real stars of the film as soon as she began filming. I love the dogs! We cuddle a lot. I would love to take Tramp home, but all the dogs have homes I think Rose (the pup that plays Lady) and I bonded. She runs this set. I can tell when she’s not into it that day. She knows this is her movie. I have lots of respect for Rose. She also dished on how she made her character Darling Dear a little different from the 1955 version: I made her a little assertive. I’m using my imagination alot with like the times, and this fantasy world of it being Disney. And her being this young woman of color. She wears the pants in the relationship and it’s been fun. Fun Facts:  It took about sixteen weeks to train the pups for their roles. All the pups were rescues before being adopted after filming wrapped.  The city of Savannah was another major star of the movie, according to Yvette Nicole Brown: “There’s a certain magic to this city. I think Atlanta would’ve been too big for this movie. The production design looks exactly like 1910. It was very cool to go back in time for a few days.” Just in time for the holidays, Disney is giving us that little spark of joy, magic and wonder that we all need at this time. Catch Lady and the Tramp in theaters on November 12. Tell them we sent you!

Upgrade Your Kitchen With a Convection Oven That Does It All

This might sound familiar: you’ve just come home from a long day. You’re tired, you’re ready to fire up Hulu and catch up on your favorite show, but most importantly, you’re hungry. You’re not really in the mood to cook something from scratch, and you need to eat as soon as possible to avoid full-on hanger rage, so you grab some frozen food from your freezer. Now, you know it’s going to taste significantly better if you let that chicken parm meal heat up in the oven, but according to the box, that’ll take over 30 minutes, and you’re famished — which means you’re going to plop that sucker in the microwave, heat on high for five minutes, and suffer the consequences of soggy chicken. Fast food and good food don’t often go together, but we’re here to tell you there’s a way to have your cake and eat it too — or in this case, roast your rotisserie chicken and bake a pizza faster, and all in the same place. The Gemelli Twin Oven is a professional-grade convection oven (translation: an oven that cooks your food way faster thanks to fan-induced air circulation) with some awesome additions. The Gemelli has an added rotisserie feature that can cook up to six pounds of meat evenly (and more healthily than frying), and a separate lower oven with a built-in pizza drawer that can cook 12 inch pizzas, quesadillas, bagels, and more. Now, you can cook, bake, broil, warm, and roast your food up to 30 percent faster, at optimum temperatures up to 450 degrees, with the main oven’s infrared  and four quartz heating elements. Don’t settle for a soggy meal again — grab the Gemelli Twin Oven today for just $279.99 (normally $379.99.) Prices subject to change.

Radio Personality lilD Pens Memoir About Her Rise From Homelessness To The “Mouth Of The South” (Exclusive)

Source: Shutter King Images @shutterkingimages / Shutter King Images @shutterkingimages Dee “lilD” Porter ‘s New Book “Route 2” Is Out Oct. 10 Her infectious voice has entertained scores of listeners over the years. But 97.9 The Beat’s Dee “lilD” Porter’s rise to fame on the radio airwaves was anything but smooth. The Dallas, TX radio personality, who endured poverty and homelessness in her quest for success on the air, has written about her struggle to succeed on the radio in her new memoir, “Route 2,” which is out this week. In it, the Louisiana native and self-proclaimed “Mouth of the South” recalls the three months she spent homeless and working two jobs in order to break into radio. The book, out Oct. 10, includes a forward from “The Breakfast Club” host Charlemagne Tha God and chronicles her grinding for low wages, going hungry and struggling to fill her car with gas for the two hour trip for her part-time radio gig. lilD said she promised herself that if she made it, she would write about her experience to help others. Source: Shutter King Images @shutterkingimages / Shutter King Images @shutterkingimages “It was a Wednesday and I was sitting in that motel room,” lilD recalled in a recent interview with BOSSIP. “I knew I wasn’t going to eat until Friday, and I thought if I make it through this…I realized that so many people are going through a struggle right now. I want them to know that this isn’t the end of the road, it’s the beginning.” lilD said she hopes the book will show readers the real deal about breaking into the radio industry while illustrating that people coming into it can be successful if they are willing to work hard and stick it out. “I want people to get a realistic vibe,” she said. “This industry is very tough. You don’t just come in one day, be a jock and make $80,000.” But “I want them to understand that if you believe in yourself, the risk will pay off.” She also hopes that “Route 2” will help counter the stigma around homelessness. “Your co-workers could be homeless, because I was and nobody knew,” lilD said. “Homelessness isn’t just that you chose to smoke your rent away. Homelessness has a face and it was my face at some point…You never know what’s going on.”

Colombian Castaways Held On To Cocaine Bales After Shipwreck

Source: SOPA Images / Getty Three smugglers are thanking both the heavens and the infamous coca plant after a harrowing experience. The trio hung on to their product, bales of cocaine, for dear life while waiting for help. Raw Story is reporting that the trio were on route to transport 1.2 tons of cocaine from Tumaco, Colombia . While in the middle of the Pacific sea they were met with very rough waters; so rough that their ship was capsized by a wave. The men did not have a safety raft forcing them to keep afloat while holding onto their bales of the illegal substance. Seven hours later the Colombian coast guard found them about 30 nautical miles from shore. Captain Jorge Maldonado of Colombia’s Task Force Against Drug Trafficking described the scene. “The coastguard arrived and these three people were floating on a material that by its characteristics resembled drugs ” he revealed. While the unidentified males were still in good health they were formally arrested once they arrived on the mainland. The Task Force say that they are still looking for a fourth man who was a part of their crew but has yet to be located. Photo: Getty

Mike Johnson and Tayshia Adams Get Cozy In Vegas: Are They Secretly Dating?!

Everyone should know by now that what happens in Vegas, never ever stays in Vegas.  And as for Mike Johnson and Tayshia Adams, who are Bachelor Nation fan-favorites, they definitely should’ve known better. But here we are, with new developing drama for a show that ended a week ago.  Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t complaining and we know you want the tea, so here we go.  Last Friday, Mike and Tayshia attended the iHeartMusic Festival in Las Vegas along with fellow BiP contestants Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes. *side note: Dean and Caelynn are dating, yet they don’t even follow each other on Instagram. It’s the small things that keep one up at night.*  Ex-Bachelor Ben Higgins was also there with his non-famous GF Jessica Clarke. And for those wondering, and I know you are, the answer is no. Demi Lovato and John Paul Jones, who are currently dating Mike and Tayshia, were not in attendance at Friday night’s event. Above is a photo of Mike and Tayshia from that evening, and though it is blurry, eyewitnesses claim that the details of the night were actually very clear and that the two danced the night away in the VIP area. And occasionally, the two even embraced.  Of course, friends are allowed to dance and hug each other, but what makes this whole story suspicious is that Tayshia has already been accused by Reality Steve of faking her relationship with John Paul Jones.  *MAJOR Spit-take*. John Paul Jones and Tayshia, in my opinion, stole the show on this season of BiP with their goofy, fun-loving, and passionate love story.  And now Reality Steve is out here ruining my day.  In response to the spoiler king, who said, “Tayshia and JPJ are not together anymore,” Tayshia fired, “Guess what… he’s wrong!” (Long live TAYPJ!)  Meanwhile in Vegas, while Mike wasn’t busy dancing up on Tayshia, he was telling E! News that Demi [Lovato] is the only woman he’s dating at the moment.  “It’s just Demi. That’s the only person I’m talking to,” he said. “I’m just getting to know Demi. I think she’s absolutely fantastic and I don’t want no pressure on her, no pressure on me, we’re just trying to get to know each other. That’s all.” Interesting… So, Mike is very casually talking to Demi , and Tayshia may or may not actually be dating JPJ?? We have so many questions about Stagecoach round 2.  But apparently, sources recently dished to E! that Tayshia and Mike are NOT dating  and that she is still happy with John Paul Jones. “Tayshia and John Paul Jones are still together,” said the source.  “Tayshia and Mike hung out in Las Vegas during the iHeartRadio music festival, but they were always with a bunch of stars from Bachelor Nation.”  “They were chummy and getting along but not flirting,” spilled the insider.  Ok cool, yeah…I’m still not entirely convinced. Looks like this is yet another case for the FBI, folks!  View Slideshow: The Bachelor Season 24: Meet the Women! Already!
