Having done similar contests in the past , the Texas artist will join forces with E-40 and FUBU’s Daymond John to launch a competition that will grant seed money to the next great minority or woman-owned startup. Chamillionaire was on CNBC Monday to discuss the new competition, mentioning in the chat that the trio will be working with equity investment firm Republic as he’s done in times past with E-40. This time, the stakes are higher and the startup has the potential to win $100,000 for their idea or company. While talking with CNBC, Chamillionaire made note that he finds it baffling that venture capitalists claim they can’t find African-American projects to fund, this after he attended the AfroTech conference in Oakland, Ca. this past weekend and came across thousands of tech workers and entrepreneurs of color. On Monday (Oct. 7), the happy couple lavishly wed in front of their family and friends as Safaree donned a red suit styled by Messiah Stylist, while Erica Mena was dressed in a gorgeous white wedding dressed designed by Ryan and Walter that closely hugged her baby bump. The whirlwind romance was first announced in late 2018 with the couple announcing their engagement by Christmas Eve of the same year. While the two have been very public with their relationship and pregnancy announcement , it seems Erica plans to take a different approach with their child. According to published reports, Mena plans to shelter the bundle of joy from the spotlight, while Safaree’s plans include adding the upcoming addition to payroll. “We’re going to be selective but at the same time, this baby will come out of the womb working,” Safaree said during the announcement. “I was working very early. I’m about to pull a DJ Khaled . As soon as this baby comes out, we are working.” Working is an understatement while celebrating milestones in their lives and relationship, the lovebirds are also cashing after it was announced that their love story will be documented on the upcoming tenth season of Love & Hip-Hop: New York ; showcasing their fast-tracked romance, it’s been reported that VH1 cameras were on-hand to also document the wedding. Although the two may have different opinions on how involved their unborn child will be in Hollywood, one thing the two definitely agree on is their love for one another. Momolu Stewart received help towards gaining his freedom by way of Kim Kardashian ‘s efforts and he is no doubt grateful for the assistance. In a profile on Stewart from Oxygen , Stewart, now 39, entered prison after the New Year’s Day shooting of Mark Rosebure. Stewart’s co-defendant, Kareem McCraney, was released in 2018 with both men benefiting from the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act. While behind bars at the DC Central Detention Facility, commonly known as the D.C. Jail, Stewart became a part of the Georgetown Prison Scholars under Dr. Mark Howard, who praised Stewart’s transformation from a street tough to a man who wants to contribute to society. Stewart seemed extremely humbled by Kardashian’s assistance as evidenced by his chat with Oxygen. “She has the ability to believe in others when the conventional aspect of things would be to shun ‘em,” Stewart said. Kardashian penned a letter on Stewart’s behalf that explained his violent and troubled childhood, which included his mother killing his father when he was six-years-old thus becoming part of the street life in Washington. Shaunie is preparing for her son, Shareef, to get open heart surgery due to a heart abnormality that could lead to death if not corrected. Surgery is obviously no joke and Shaunie is nervous, but she manages to push through and keep the family going during this time. She does have help from Shaq, whom she says is a good co-parent. It’s also sweet to see her son, Myles, comforting her. In the end. Shareef’s surgery ends up being a success. Fast forward to a week later. Jackie’s back. Malaysia’s back. Evelyn’s back. Tami is back as a newlywed (she secretly married Reggie and still hasn’t told anyone). CeCe is back and she still has drama with Kristen. Her fiance, Byron, isn’t thrilled with Kristen at the moment either. Byron feels like Kristen two-faced with him and he definitely doesn’t like how Kristen treated CeCe last season. His final verdict that if he never sees or speaks to Kristen again he’d be cool with that. That sucks because Kristen is married to his son (Thomas) and is the mother of his grandchild. He actually wants Thomas to be his best man in his upcoming wedding to CeCe, but how’s that going to work if he doesn’t want his best man’s wife at the wedding? Next, we find Malaysia and CeCe out and about looking for wedding bands for CeCe. But the point of this scene is really for Malaysia to ask what’s up with her relationship with Kristen. Kristen doesn’t reveal too much, especially not the part about Byron not wanting her at his wedding, but she does mention that she hasn’t spoken to Kirsten since Amsterdam…last year. Malaysia kicks all this yang about how they’re family and need to work it out, but that may not always be the case for people. Evelyn links with Kristen and Jackie to meet with a shaman in the desert. Evelyn has been dealing with a lot of unexplained pain lately and thinks it’s due to negative energy so she wants a cleanse. Speaking of negative, the conversation drifts toward Kristen telling them she hasn’t been in touch with Byron, and that she found out that he and CeCe got engaged on IG. She’s playing the clueless role but when you find out something like that about someone close to you on social media, obviously there’s a problem. Let’s fast forward a bit. Jennifer is back too. Kristen is her only friend and meets up with her to see what’s up. Obviously, Jenn hasn’t spoken to anyone, and still won’t take accountability for lying, which is why people are mad at her. But Kristen invites her to Shaunie’s upcoming party though. Yeah, Shaunie is having a celebratory party for Shareef. Let’s cut to that situation. Everyone shows up in red because that represents the heart, obvi. But let’s cut to the drama. CeCe walks in and walks right past Kristen and her husband. Awkward. Then we find Kristen with Shaunie. Kristen tells Shaunie that she met with Jennifer and that Jenn is confused over why Shaunie is upset with her but Kristen, being the messy carrier pigeon she is, also tells Shaunie that Jenn was talking even more smack about her ex (Shaq, but they’re not saying his name), and how everyone knew that he was sleeping with other people anyway. Obviously, this riles Shaunie up because she doesn’t like Jenn talking about her kids’ father and she feels that Jenn is still being fake. Kristen then drops the bomb that she invited Jenn. Earlier in the episode, Shaunie said she didn’t invite Jenn but she was open to the possibility of her coming for the simple fact that Jenn actually reached out to her about her son’s health, and for that if Jenn wanted to show her son love in person, so be it. However, hearing the news she just heard changed things. Shaunie tells Kristen to tell her “evil” friend not to come. Hold that thought, because you know she’s still gonna come. Evelyn then tells Kristen what CeCe told her earlier at the party, which is that Byron doesn’t want Kristen to come to their wedding. Kristen can’t have this chat without Malaysia, so she calls Malaysia over for Evelyn to repeat this. Interestingly enough, neither Kristen nor Malaysia actually thinks Byron would ever exclude her, yet we clearly saw him earlier saying that he never wanted to talk to Kristen again. Their communication (or Kristen’s self-perception) is jacked up. Anyway, Malaysia, who thinks Byron would never, wants them all to get together to talk…for the umpteenth time. Finally, Jenn shows up to the party and she is being fake as expected. Shaunie gets set off just at the site of Jenn and decides to leave (or step out) before she, as she put it loosely, tap into her inner Inglewood and beat that arse. But somebody is going to throw hands this season. Jeannie Mai has opened up about the most personal and difficult of topics. In footage from The Real co-host’s YouTube series, Hello Hunnay , Mai sits down alongside her mother and talks about the reason why the two didn’t talk for many years. While explaining this past rift in their relationship, Mai reveals she was sexually abused by a male family member starting at the age of 9. “We’ve talked before that we had a major falling out when I was about 16 until I was 24,” Mai says in the clip below, adding: “I’ve never actually talked about that incident with my mom since then. We’re talking for the first time about how that affected us.” From there, the 40-year old explains that this abuse began shortly after her second brother was born — and her mother was forced to take on a second job in order to help pay the bills. “We needed to find a babysitter, so we called upon a family member,” Mai says. “He came over every single day and stayed with me after school.” Mai never names her abuser. She simply says he was “16 or 17″ at the time he committed this actor and that she really looked up to him at the time. That is, of course, the following took place. “I just remember one day this person sitting very close to me, we were playing video games, and he started to touch my thigh,” Mai details in the chat with her mom below. Just truly awful stuff. Jeannie goes on to say she rationalized this experience by convincing herself that because he was a family member, it was okay. “I was also just stunned because I had never been intimately touched like that so I couldn’t tell if it was wrong, I just knew I was noticing it.” As the days progressed, however, Mai says the touching progressed into him taking off her clothes, exposing himself to her and instructing her on how to touch him. Like we said: just awful stuff. “I remember him pulling me into that shower and it was the first time I have a seen a grown man and what he looked like,” she says here. “I remember him telling me to touch him in certain ways.” Mai continues: “This happened every day for a few weeks, and then it turned into months and I remember one year going by. I didn’t say anything because I was afraid.” Around the age of 13, Mai finally told her mom what had been going on. She pleaded for a new babysitter. But her mother didn’t understand what her daughter was saying or refused to believe it — even years later when the abuse became even more “aggressive,” according to Mai … and she once again tried to speak to her parent about it. “I began to get angry because now I’m telling my mom that he’s taking off my clothes and you said, ‘I don’t believe you,’” she says. Her mother admits in this video that she was in denial about the relative. Jeannie Mai, The Real Host, Discusses Abusive Past “I felt by myself,” Mai explains, adding that she left home at the age of 16 and didn’t talk to her mom for nine years. “All I can say is I’m really sorry,” her mom says in response, telling Mai for the first time that she finally confronted the abuser many years later and he begged her not to turn him in to the police. “That right there is all I needed to know,” Mai says through tears. “That you believed me and you listened and that you would go and try and do something about it. “I just needed your support. I feel like you just set something free inside of me because you believed me.” Mai and her mom have repaired their relationship and the former concludes that she has shared her story in order to help or inspire others. “We hope that this can help you connect more with your mom, grow better and closer to your family and help your heal however you need to inside,” she says.

During his conversation with Colbert, it was brought up that the last time Common was on the show, he visited when Obama was present to promote her book, Becoming. “We both Chicagoans, we got this connection,” he said. “She’s a wonderful person.” A wonderful person who gives sound advice. The 47-year-old said that during his last visit with her on the show, they actually sat on Colbert’s couch and talked love and relationships.
