He’s been pretty much single his whole career bouncing around from woman to woman for the past decade. For some of that time, he’s tended to get with women who are either with or just broken up with his friends. As a result, he’s had run-ins and feuds with buddies while gaining a reputation as someone who likes other guys’ women. Is it fair? Let’s take a look…
The Duggar family apparently feels like Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal has blown over, folks, because Jed Duggar is running for office . Despite that being a deeply controversial move, his big sister Jana gave him a shout-out and a glowing endorsement. Now, fans are upset with Jana for endorsing someone with upsetting, oppressive platforms like Jed’s. “It was an honor to go to the Arkansas State Capitol today,” Jana’s Instagram post begins. She got “to watch my brother @jed_duggar file as a candidate for House District 89.” “I’m so proud of the man he is,” she gushes. “And,” Jana concludes, “the heart he has for serving the community of Springdale!” “I hope he doesn’t forget that humans, especially women, have rights,” one commenter begins. The comment continues: “Women have the right to many things and he better not take any of it away from them.” “Don’t punch your religious values on people,” the comment concludes. “We don’t want it.” “No offense he’s not going to win,” another follower cautions. “Janna has a better shot at winning than this guy.” “Oh yeah, because he totally understands separation of church and state,” another commenter derides. The follower observes; “He’s been raised to believe nobody other than Christian men have rights.” “And he has no life experience,” that same commenter concludes. Clearly, Jed’s run for office is a disappointment to many fans, and they don’t love Jana endorsing his move. “I’m a Conservative. Pro-Life. Pro Second Amendment. Pro Religious Liberty,” Jed announced alongside his candidacy. The chilling litany of his agenda was enough to alarm plenty of people, even though it is no surprise. He also wrote that he plans to “Combat the Opioid Crisis. Lower Taxes. More Jobs & Growth. Strong Economy.” Jed being 20 years old and lacking any life experience or opinions of his own could really hamper him in any political race. “I’m Jed Duggar. I have grown up in the Springdale area all my life,” he wrote on Instagram. Jed continued: “And as a local small-business owner, I understand the important issues facing the residents and businesses of District 89.” Yes, we’re sure that Jed can relate to all of the other small business owners whose daddies gave them businesses instead of a college education. Clearly, he is hoping that others will overlook his lack of qualifications or experience and simply side with his abhorrent views on human rights. “Northwest Arkansas is the economic engine of our state,” Jed continued. He wrote: our local jobs and state economy depend on elected officials that take a common-sense, business approach to legislative reforms.” “I will fight for sound fiscal policies and tax relief for all Arkansans,” he pledged. It sounds like Jim Bob is angling for a tax break for himself and his fellow millionaires. “I will unequivocally advocate for conservative values,” Jed warned. “I am a Christian and I will stand up for religious liberty,” he emphasized. Religious liberty is a favored euphemism meaning special rights for conservative Christians. At times, laws passed on these grounds directly oppose the rights and beliefs of religious minorities. “:I am pro-life and I will be an advocate for the unborn,” Jed’s grim announcement continued. He continued: “And I will always defend our Second Amendment.” In other words, he’s happy to see people forced to give birth, but once they’re born, it’s basically fine if they die in a hail of bullets. “With your support,” Jed tells his followers. “I will be a strong, conservative voice in Little Rock for District 89.” Some Duggar fans have noted that Jed’s campaign seems to link his address to an apartment. It wouldn’t normally be shocking for a 20-year-old to live on his own, but most 20-year-olds aren’t members of repressive cults. Jim Bob lets his children move out of the house only when married. This seems like a curious exception. Fans believe that Jim Bob wants to make Jed look independent. Who’s going to vote for a man who’s forbidden from having an orgasm? Of course Jana endorsed Jed. Not only did she likely have no choice in the matter, but he’s her brother! The reason that fans were upset is that Jed’s platform just … sucks. The other reason is that Jana endorsing him conflicts with the image of Jana that fans have constructed in their minds. If Jana is really a rebel against the horrible beliefs of her family, she’s really good at hiding it. When F. Scott Fitzgerald famously uttered, “The rich are different from you and me,” Ernest Hemingway quipped, “Yes, they have more money.” Our response would have been equally dismissive, but a bit more peevish — something along the lines of “yeah, no sh-t, Scotty. When they get convicted of federal crimes, they spend less than two weeks behind bars, and they roll up to their cushy community service assignments in six-figure sports cars.” Take a look at the strange case of Felicity Huffman, for example. Back in March, Huffman pled guilty to paying an SAT proctor in order to help her daughter cheat on the exam, thus ensuring the girl a place in the college of her choice. There were rumors that the judge was planning to throw the book at the actress, but in the end, Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison . Those who considered the punishment ridiculously lenient were even more incensed when Felicity was released 3 days early, serving just 11 days behind bars. Last week, Huffman was released from jail, and she promptly got all emotional, because that’s what she’s been doing at every stage of this process. And now, the second stage of her sentence begins. In keeping with the “slap on the wrist/white privilege” motif that’s thus far characterized Huffman’s jaunt through our criminal justice system, the actress must pay a $30,000 fine and serve 50 hours of community service. Earlier this week, she was spotted leaving The Teen Project, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth. It’s fitting, in a way, as kids from disadvantaged backgrounds are the ones who are less likely to be admitted to college because rich people insist on buying a place in the student body for their already-insanely-privileged kids. Apparently to pour salt in the woods of those who feel this was a grave miscarriage of justice, Huffman was reportedly chauffeured from the facility in her husband’s Porsche. So has she learned anything from any of this? Almost certainly not, but she talked a good game throughout the sentencing process: “I’m sorry to you, judge. I am deeply sorry to the students, parents and colleges impacted by my actions,” the Emmy-winner said in court. “I am sorry to my daughters and my husband. I have betrayed them all. “I think this is the right sentence here,” U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani told Huffman at the time of her sentencing. “You can move forward and rebuild your life after this. Without this sentence, I think the community around you would ask why you got away with this.” Yeah, because we’re sure a harsher sentence would’ve made it impossible for the rich, famous actress to rebuild her life. During her pre-sentencing testimony, Huffman recalled the emotional turmoil she’s suffered as a result of her actions. “My mind keeps returning to the 30-minute drive to the testing center. I kept thinking, ‘Turn around,'” Huffman says the worst part of the whole ordeal was when her daughter asked why she didn’t believe in her ability to get into college on her own: “I had no answer,” Huffman said. “I can only say I’m so sorry, Sophia. I was frightened, I was stupid, and I was so wrong. I am deeply ashamed of what I have done. I have done more damage than I could ever imagine. I realize now with my mothering that love and truth go hand in hand. I take full responsibility for my actions.” When an awkward conversation with a teen was the worst part of committing a federal crime, you know the sentence wasn’t harsh enough.
Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice have not seen each other in about three years and eight months. That sounds crazy, but it’s true. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star confirmed as much herself during her joint interview with her estranged husband late last month on Bravo. This will change in the near future, however, as Teresa is planning a trip to Italy with her four daughters some day soon. Why must they go to Italy just to see their husband/father? Because Joe recently completed a 41-month stint in prison due to his role in a bankruptcy scheme perpetrated by himself and Teresa. He was then ordered to be deported because he commited this crime without being a U.S. citizen… and was then released from ICE custody — as long as he returns to his native country — while he awaits a decision on his appeal. So that’s where Joe sits right now: waiting to learn about his legal future. And also about his marital future, as he and Teresa do NOT sound like a couple that thinks it will remain a couple for very much longer. During the aforementioned Bravo special, Teresa and Joe each opened up about the fate of their relationship. “I’ve been on my own now for three years and seven months and … we’re both two different people now and I don’t know. I’m not the same Teresa I was and I know he’s not the same Joe,” Teresa told Andy Cohen. Teresa added at the time of Joe: “I do love him as a person. I do. I still care about him. I love him. I don’t know how I’m going to feel when I see him. That’s why I’m so nervous when I see him. I love him. “He’s my husband. We have children together.” Those are facts. But it’s also true that Joe and Teresa both think the other had been unfaithful . That can’t bode well, can it? This all brings us back to the upcoming Italy trip. “When I go see him in Italy, we’ll figure that out,” Teresa said when asked where her relationship stands at the New Jersey Ultimate Women’s Expo on Sunday, November 3. Joe, meanwhile, seems aware that Teresa wants a divorce . “Listen, as long as she’s happy, that’s all that really matters,” he said to Cohen. “I’m not going to tell her what to do. If she doesn’t feel like she wants to be with me anymore, that’s the thing to do.” View Slideshow: Teresa Giudice vs. Joe Giudice: The Most Shocking Interview Reveals!
Meghan King Edmonds is fighting back. The former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, who left the franchise in 2017, has sat down for her very first interview since her husband filed for divorce late last month. Jim Edmonds didn’t merely file for divorce, either. He did so after he and his wife got into a vicious argument over rumors that he had been sleeping with the family nanny. This rumor followed a scandal-plagued summer in which both Jim and Meghan responded to the former having had an explicit relationship with another woman . Jim has claimed this relationship never went beyond inappropriate text messages, but still: Damage had been done to the relationship long before the divorce filing and nanny chatter. With the whole Internet buzzing over his alleged new affair (again, with THe NANNY!), Jim has spoken out on numerous occasions; first trashing Meghan for spreading such a lie and then calming down and saying some kind things about her . To kick off her chat with Us Weekly, Meghan referenced this change of tone from her estranged huband. “I have to say that when he gave the ‘nice’ interview a few days ago, he was completely speaking for me. At that time I had not exchanged one text message with him and I have still not spoken to him on the phone,” Meghan explained to Us , adding that since the split, she has kept things “calm, consistent, routine-based and light” at her home. “I have endured prolific controlling by Jim and it isn’t slowing down. “Even when I make an unassuming post on Instagram, he hurls insults at me for a battery of made-up indiscretions. “I’m sick of the abuse and I won’t engage anymore — and I don’t have to.” It’s been a confusing whirlwind for the ex-couple. In a lengthy blog entry written on October 29, Meghan detailed how she felt Jim had gotten far too close to Carly Wilson, the 22-year old nanny at the center of this scandal. But she came right out and admitted the two probably did not sleep together. Does this means she forgives Jim and all is now good between them? No. Far from it. “I believe the facade he presented is false and manipulative to the public while using and taking advantage of me,” she now tells Us Weekly. In the former Major League Baseball player’s most recent message, he said that he was “hoping for some peace, normalcy, and the ability to move forward in a healthy, happy direction for every single person involved,” noting that he loves his family “and will make it right again.” But this won’t be easy, considering Meghan was blindsided by the divorce filing and had to find out about it online. She’s been through far too much with Jim and various situations with other women to simply move on from it; not now. Maybe not ever. “Divorce had been discussed as something that could be possible but I truly thought he could change and work through his demons,” she says here, continuing: “Divorce never really crossed my mind. I had to find a divorce lawyer in a matter of hours. “He filed so quickly that it seems to me (and others) it had been ready to go and he just was waiting for an event to happen so he could pull the trigger.” The couple got married in 2014. They share 2-year-old daughter Aspen and 16-month-old twins Hayes and Hart, the latter of whom has tragically been diagnosed with brain damage. Here’s a quick rundown of what else Meghan said in this extensive Q&A: Does she have money problems? “It saddens me that the father of my children would so hostilely and haughtily say I should be worried about money, even during a time of anger. I don’t see that as putting our children first which has and always will be my first priority.” Did they sign a prenuptial agreement? “I did sign a prenup but it doesn’t pertain to child support or custody.” How did this whole affair rumor blow up? “I only ever privately alleged that Carly and my husband had an inappropriate relationship. “It was Carly, Jim, and Jim’s daughter Hayley who repeated references such ‘allegations’ in the media and blew up this story. This is the very first time I have spoken to the media in the wake of this devastating scandal. “Also, is it kind to secretly hang out with your boss’ husband at a bar until 1:30 a.m. and then delete all texts between the two of you? Is that putting my children first?” What about Jim, the kids and custody? “He hasn’t seen them since he left me — in no part due to any reluctance on my part — but hopefully, he will see them soon. “In true toddler fashion, Aspen is especially concerned with her broken iPad (he reported it stolen so it’s wiped clean and unable to be reactivated except by the person who activated it originally which is Jim) and she can’t use it anymore but I kind of like that she has to make creative fun. “The twins are unaware anything happened.” View Slideshow: Vicki Gunvalson Predicted Meghan King Edmonds Divorce 5 Years Ago!
Well, we knew the day would come when the next generation of Duggars would follow Jim Bob's lead and run for public office. We just didn't think the first one to throw his hat in the ring would be only a few months out of his teens. For a long time, it looked as though Josh Duggar would enter the political arena, but a handful of sex scandals derailed his career while he was still in the lobbyist stage. And so, Josh is in exile (read: selling used cars in rural Arkansas), and it's his brother Jedidiah who's taken up the mantel of public service. This week, 20-year-old Jed announced that he's running for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives. The election is still a year away, but thanks to Jed's status as a member of reality TV's most controversial family, his campaign is already gaining a lot of attention. Take a look: 1. Jed! Jed announced this week that he’s running for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives. If he’s smart, he’ll learn from the mistakes of that OTHER Jed from a famous family and avoid exclamation marks on his campaign signs. 2. Jedsite Jed’s official campaign site launched this week, and you probably won’t be surprised to learn the scion of Jim Bob leans HARD to the right in his policy positions. 3. Facing the Issues You want issues? Jed’s got ’em! His site lays out his stance on seven hot-button topics, and you better believe Jed’s got strong opinions about God and guns. 4. The Resume School? Who’s got time for it? Jed may have not have spent much (or any) time in a classroom … or the military … or even in a full-time job (no, being the nominal head of one of your dad’s car lots doesn’t count) — but he worked on a state senator’s campaign for a couple months last year! 5. Life? Jed’s In Favor of It To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jed is vehemently pro-life. He threw “100%” in there, so it’s safe to assume he opposes abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or medical issues that might threaten the mother’s life. Definitely the kind of decision you want a 20-year-old virgin to make for you. 6. Nothing Says “Pro-Life” Like an Assault Weapon! Not surprisingly, Jed is also big on guns. It’s a passion that led him to enlist in the US — oh, wait … like the rest of the Duggars, Jed talks a big game about patriotism but has never considered serving in the military. View Slideshow
Back in June, Joe Duggar and Kendra Caldwell announced that they were expecting baby #2 to be a girl . Well, the long wait is over! Kendra and Joe have welcomed their newborn into the world! Us Weekly reports that on Saturday, November 2, Kendra Caldwell gave birth to the newest Duggar grandchild. They ushered the sweet little girl into the world at 5:33 AM. The precious newborn is named Addison Renee. At birth, she weighed 7 pounds and 12.5 ounces and measured 20.5 inches in length. Joseph and Kendra released a joint statement to share the happy news. “Addison Renee has made us a family of four,” the couple gushed on Monday. “And,” they continued, “we are already so in love with her!” “She made a quick arrival in the early hours of the morning,” the couple noted, “and has already melted our hearts.” Joe and Kendra were sure to acknowledge that they weren’t the only ones welcoming the little girl to the family. “We know Garrett is going to be a great big brother,” the couple affirmed. In keeping with their brand, the couple expressed: “Children are each a special gift from God.” Their statement concluded: “And we are so happy our newest blessing is here.” Back in April, Joe and Kendra confirmed that they were expecting. “We are ready to double the fun at our house!” the couple shared excitedly. They expressed: “Being parents has already proven to be a greater joy than we had hoped or imagined.” “We love getting to parent together,” Joe and Kendra added. In the statement in April, Joe and Kendra continued: “And are loving every moment and milestone.” “We are very happy that our little family will welcome a new addition later this year,” they announced. “Children really are a blessing from God!” they proclaimed. Now they have two blessings in their household. So cute! Kendra gave birth to little Garrett just 17 months ago. In June of 2018, the couple put out a statement about how thrilled they were to become first-time parents. “No matter how many times we’ve experienced the joy of babies born in our families,” their statement began. The couple continued: “There’s nothing comparable to the joy in our hearts today!” “Children truly are a gift from God,” they said that time, too. “We are so thankful for his safe arrival and this new journey as parents.” Even as recently as October, Kendra and Joe predicted that adding a second baby would be easy . “We’re kind of already in that napping, changing diapers groove with Garrett still, so I think it will be just adding another [to that],” Kendra guessed. “We’ll both be busy, I guess,” Kendra acknowledged. “All hands will be tied up taking care of little ones, but there are always challenges.” “[Our son] can’t do much himself, so he’s going to need a lot of help,” she noted. “But we’re excited about this new chapter.” Fans are excited for the couple to discover that having two children is much harder than simply double the workload of one child. The Duggars in the midst of a mini-baby boom. Just last month, rebellious cousin Amy Duggar welcomed her first child . Back in June, Jessa Duggar welcomed her third . Currently, Josiah Duggar’s wife, Lauren Swanson is pregnant with her first child. It would be an exciting time for any family, but considering the emphasis the Duggars place on procreation, you can bet Jim Bob and Michelle are especially thrilled with the year’s developments! As previously documented, Christine Brown has lost a lot of weight. But someone very close to the long-time Sister Wives star is now hoping Christine loses something else in the near future: Her wedding ring. And the commitment that comes along with it. The veteran TLC personality, who rarely shares photo with spiritual husband Kody, is the subject of a new interview between Radar Online and Kristyn Decker. The latter is both Christine’s aunt and also the author of Fifty Years in Polygamy: Big Secrets and Little White Lies . She’s someone who grew up in polygamy, only to finally escape 33 years after she married her first husband. In other words: This is not some random critic of Christine, Kody and their unusual lifestyle… … this is someone who can speak from personal experience. Now that she’s happily in a monogamous marriage, Decker is calling on her estranged niece to do the same. “I was still in polygamy when Christine joined,” Decker tells Radar of watching her relative become a Sister Wife. “She looked happy. I thought, ‘She’s crazy about Kody, so go for it!’ Even as a believer, I wanted to privately to go tell them to run. I knew how crazy and insane it was. “You don’t know what you’re getting into. I wish I would’ve warned people.” Many observers have offered similar critiques for Christine and the three other women who shares Kody as a husband. But almost none of them have known the life of polygamy in the way Decker has, which is why her words are garnering national attentoon. “It’s a miserable-happy life,” she explains in this article. Meaning what, exactly? “The Browns are miserable-happy,” she says, elaborating as follows: They’re miserable on the inside. I don’t think any of them know what genuine happiness and freedom is. I thought I was happy. I thought life was great and I was serving God. “I was happy serving God, but miserable doing it. The more you sacrifice, the better your blessings will be in heaven.” Decker actually has appeared on Sister Wives. Her name or face may be familiar to long-time viewers. But she tells Radar that she and Christine never really talk, mostly due to Decker’s critical nature of her niece’s arrangement. Why does she think Brown can’t see clearly? Why isn’t Christine getting the heck out of there? Because she makes most of her income off the program and would be in financial trouble if she left. It’s a tragic and vicious and emotionally-damaging cycle. Kristyn went on to tell Radar how the Brown family belongs to is called the AUB, which stands for Apostolic United Brethren. She said that while physical abuse is common, it is “not as common as emotional and mental abuse.” “Polygamy is a system of abuse overall,” she says. “Mental, emotional, and spiritual. The groups believe their leaders are the right ones and the others are wrong. Overall, polygamy is a system that’s harmful to men, women, children and society. “You will live in polygamy and the women will be submissive. In the family’s tell-all memoir, Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage , Christine opened up about the ups and downs in their marriage. She admitted that Kody’s marriage to Robyn really took its toll on her. “When Kody started courting and then married Robyn it really rocked me. I gave birth to Truely and was suffering from extreme postpartum depression,” wrote Christine, adding: “I’d never thought I’d feel such a sense of loss and such crippling jealousy.
