Whitney’s BFF Robyn Crawford Breaks Silence on Love Affair!

Well, Robyn is putting an end to all of the rumors in her new memoir, titled, “ A Song For You: My Life with Whitney Houston .” In the memoir, she speaks of the intimate side of their relationship. Check out an excerpt from the book below.   According to People Magazine, Crawford wrote in the book: From the moment Crawford, then 19, first saw Whitney (then almost 17) in 1980 when they were both counselors at an East Orange, New Jersey summer camp, she told her, “I’m going to look out for you.” And that’s exactly what she did for the next two decades as Whitney became a global superstar. “We wanted to be together,” says Crawford, “and that meant just us.” Whitney ended the physical part of their relationship early on, soon after she signed a record deal with Clive Davis at Arista. The singer broke the news by giving Crawford a gift of a slate blue Bible one day in 1982. “She said we shouldn’t be physical anymore,” writes Crawford, “because it would make our journey even more difficult.” “She said if people find out about us, they would use this against us,” says Crawford, “and back in the ’80s that’s how it felt.” And so, she says, “I kept it safe. I found comfort in my silence.” There was also pressure from Whitney’s family, including her mother gospel singer Cissy Houston. “Whitney told me her mother said it wasn’t natural for two women to be that close,” says Crawford, “but we were that close.” Their closeness spawned relentless speculation about Whitney’s sexuality for many years. “We never talked about labels, like lesbian or gay,” writes Crawford. “We just lived our lives and I hoped it could go on that way forever.” Crawford went on to say, “Whitney knows I loved her and I know she loved me,” says Crawford. “We really meant everything to each other. We vowed to stand by each other.”   Crawford is now a fitness trainer and lives with her partner, talent agency executive Lisa Hintlemann, with whom she adopted two children. Your Thoughts?

Felicity Huffman Begins Community Service, Rolls Through Beverly Hills In a Porsche

When F. Scott Fitzgerald famously uttered, “The rich are different from you and me,” Ernest Hemingway quipped, “Yes, they have more money.” Our response would have been equally dismissive, but a bit more peevish — something along the lines of “yeah, no sh-t, Scotty. When they get convicted of federal crimes, they spend less than two weeks behind bars, and they roll up to their cushy community service assignments in six-figure sports cars.” Take a look at the strange case of Felicity Huffman, for example. Back in March,  Huffman pled guilty to paying an SAT proctor in order to help her daughter cheat on the exam, thus ensuring the girl a place in the college of her choice. There were rumors that the judge was planning to throw the book at the actress, but in the end, Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison . Those who considered the punishment ridiculously lenient were even more incensed when Felicity was released 3 days early, serving just 11 days behind bars. Last week, Huffman was released from jail, and she promptly got all emotional, because that’s what she’s been doing at every stage of this process. And now, the second stage of her sentence begins. In keeping with the “slap on the wrist/white privilege” motif that’s thus far characterized Huffman’s jaunt through our criminal justice system, the actress must pay a $30,000 fine and serve 50 hours of community service. Earlier this week, she was spotted leaving The Teen Project, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth. It’s fitting, in a way, as kids from disadvantaged backgrounds are the ones who are less likely to be admitted to college because rich people insist on buying a place in the student body for their already-insanely-privileged kids. Apparently to pour salt in the woods of those who feel this was a grave miscarriage of justice, Huffman was reportedly chauffeured from the facility in her husband’s Porsche.  So has she learned anything from any of this? Almost certainly not, but she talked a good game throughout the sentencing process: “I’m sorry to you, judge. I am deeply sorry to the students, parents and colleges impacted by my actions,” the Emmy-winner said in court. “I am sorry to my daughters and my husband. I have betrayed them all. “I think this is the right sentence here,” U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani told Huffman at the time of her sentencing. “You can move forward and rebuild your life after this. Without this sentence, I think the community around you would ask why you got away with this.” Yeah, because we’re sure a harsher sentence would’ve made it impossible for the rich, famous actress to rebuild her life. During her pre-sentencing testimony, Huffman recalled the emotional turmoil she’s suffered as a result of her actions. “My mind keeps returning to the 30-minute drive to the testing center. I kept thinking, ‘Turn around,'”  Huffman says the worst part of the whole ordeal was when her daughter asked why she didn’t believe in her ability to get into college on her own: “I had no answer,” Huffman said. “I can only say I’m so sorry, Sophia. I was frightened, I was stupid, and I was so wrong. I am deeply ashamed of what I have done. I have done more damage than I could ever imagine. I realize now with my mothering that love and truth go hand in hand. I take full responsibility for my actions.” When an awkward conversation with a teen was the worst part of committing a federal crime, you know the sentence wasn’t harsh enough.

Author Alice Walker Responds To Homophobic Actress Fired From ‘The Color Purple’ Production

Source: The Washington Post / Getty The U.K. production of The Color Purple has been steeped in controversy after old homophobic tweets from the lead actress Oluwaseyi “Semi” Omooba resurfaced. She once wrote on Facebook, “I do not believe you can be born gay, and I do not believe homosexuality is right.” When she refused to apologize for her statements, she was let go from the production of The Color Purple and her agency. She proceeded to sue her former agency, Michael Garrett Associates, for religious discrimination. The ironic point of the whole situation is the character Omooba was meant to play, Celie, is known to be a queer character. Now, the author of the book in which the play is based, Alice Walker , is speaking out about Omooba’s firing. According to Shadow and Act , Walker defended Omooba’s dismissal from the U.K. production of her classic 1982 novel of the same name. “It is safe to say, after a frightful life serving and obeying abusive men, who raped in place of ‘making love,’ my grandmother, like Celie, was not attracted to men,” Walker said. “She was, in fact, very drawn to my grandfather’s lover, a beautiful woman who was kind to her, the only grown person who ever seemed to notice how remarkable and creative she was. In giving Celie the love of this woman, in every way love can be expressed, I was clear in my intention to demonstrate that she too, like all of us, deserved to be seen, appreciated, and deeply loved by someone who saw her as whole and worthy.” When addressing Omooba’s past remarks, Walker said: “Playing the role of Celie while not believing in her right to be loved, or to express her love in any way she chooses, would be a betrayal of women’s right to be free. As an elder, I urge all of us to think carefully about what I am saying, even as you, Oluwaseyi Omooba, sue the theatre company for voiding your contract.” Welp… The legend has spoken. Time will tell if Omooba will get the message.

Today Show Hosts React to "Shocking and Appalling" Rape Claim Against Matt Lauer

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb opened this morning’s new installment of The Today Show with their reactions to a scandal that is both personal and professional: A newly-reported rape accusation against Matt Lauer. As previously detailed, a former NBC staffer named Brooke Nevils told Ronan Farrow for the reporter’s latest book that Lauer sexually assaulted her in a Sochi hotel room during that city’s 2014 Olympic Games. According to Nevils, the ex-Today co-host (who was fired in November 2017 for sexual misconduct ) pushed her down on a bed and asked if she liked anal sex. Nevils then claims she said no , but Lauer ignored her declaration, didn’t use lubricant and raped hre from behind. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” Nevils tells Farrow in his book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” She said she “bled for days” as a result of the incident. During the first hour of Wednesday’s edition of Today, Guthrie and Kotb responded to this allegation while sitting side-by-side, the latter in the chair formerly occupied by Lauer. “I feel like we owe it to our viewers to pause for a moment,” Guthrie said. “You know, this is shocking and appalling, and I honestly don’t even know what to say about it. I want to say that we — I know it wasn’t easy for our colleague Brooke [Nevils] to come forward then. It’s not easy now. “And we support her and any women who come forward with claims. It’s just very painful for all of us at NBC and who are at the Today show. It’s very, very, very difficult.” As it turns out, Nevils was the one who issued the complaint in 2017 that prompted Lauer’s firing. Her name was kept secret at the time, however. Shortly after Lauer was let go, a different accusation of rape was leveled against the disgraced star. Kotb, for her part, looked back at Lauer’s 2017 firing, which took place following an official complaint of inappropriate sexual behavior. “I’m looking at you, and I’m having a weird moment that we were sitting here just like this two years ago, and truth be told, Savannah and I did a little prayer upstairs just before just to sort of sort out what we were going to do,” she said. Continued Kotb this morning: “I think it’s like you feel like you’ve known someone for 12 years, and I don’t know if you guys have ever felt like that: You know someone, you know them, you feel like you know them inside and out. “And then, all of a sudden, like, a door opens up, and it’s a part of them you didn’t know. And we don’t know all the facts in all of this, but there are not allegations of an affair. There are allegations of a crime. I think that’s shocking to all of us here who’ve sat with Matt for many, many years. So, I think we’re going to just sort of continue to process this part of this horrific story. “And, as you said, you know, our thoughts are with Brooke. It’s not easy what she did to come forward. It’s not easy at all.” Guthrie concluded by saying “we’re disturbed to our core” and pledged to keep viewers informed of any new developments. Lauer, for his part, broke a lengthy silence in order to respond to this rape allegation. “I had an extramarital affair with Brooke Nevils in 2014,” he said, citing the night in  question and stating: “We performed oral sex on each other, we had vaginal sex, and we had anal sex. Each act was mutual and completely consensual.” Lauer later said in his statement: “I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period.” NBC News, meanwhile, told Variety the following on Wednesday: “Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific and reprehensible, as we said at the time.That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. In a talk with Shadow and Act for his new movie with Eddie Murphy , “Dolemite Is My Name”, Snipes was asked about the “New Jack City” project. His response? “I’m not associated with it, you know. I’m have nothing to do with it at all,” he said. When pressed about his specific feelings for the flick, Snipes explained: “I think some things should be left alone…if it worked at the time under the circumstances. And the story was built around things that are current. I don’t particularly like the idea of recreating the drug culture. For what? […] I don’t know. They actually talked to me about doing it and I told them no. If I had a dime for every time I’ve said no. It’s a done deal, it’s a wrap.” The original “New Jack City” premiered in 1991 and it served as Mario Van Peebles ‘ directorial debut. It told the story of New York City drug lord Nino Brown (Snipes) and the detective, Scotty Appleton ( Ice-T ) who goes undercover to plot his downfall. Along with Snipes and Ice-T starring in the movie, Chris Rock, Michael Michele , and Allen Payne also had significant roles. Deadline made the announcement that the flick would be receiving a reboot, although the writer for the movie, Malcolm M. Mays deemed it a “sequel” on Instagram. Along with being a writer, Mays has also had a reoccurring role on the FX drama “Snowfall,” which also explores the inner workings of the drug world only this time, in L.A. where Mays is from. “New Jack City” has had major cultural impact, especially serving as the launching pad for the acting careers of Rock, Payne and Ice-T. Rock was especially memorable to audiences for his dramatic turn as “Pookie” Benny Robinson, a crack addict who eventually becomes a police informant and infiltrates the Cash Money Brothers gang. The flick was made for an estimated $8 million, according to Deadline, and it grossed around $48 million at the domestic box office. Although Mays is set to pen the script for the sequel, there is no director attached yet. Meanwhile, Mays is gearing up to direct and produce the feature film “Flint,” starring John Ortiz and T.I. The movie will follow a converted ex-con who’s found peace in the Tao principles. He finds himself caught up in a murder mystery set upon by his ex-lover and young mentee. His journey plays out in the backdrop of the Flint, MI water crisis and soon connections are made between the protagonist’s mystery and the water crisis afflicting the community where he grew up. Not that reading makes you smart, but I like the concept, or seeing a girl dive into a book, tuning out all that noise and screentime, being present in their head, in their book, it’s relaxing, soothing, somee ASMR but less fucking creepy. I guess being a product of Eric Roberts unintentional sperm donation has worked out alright for her and the rest of you need to follow her lead and read a damn book you morons.. Erica Campbell: He told me that he had been unfaithful and he told me that it had been years back and he told me he thought if he just stopped and just kept moving forward, it would be fine. And he said that he didn’t have peace and he couldn’t rest. And so we talked about it and strangely enough, I kind of knew it. I suspected it. But I was like, ‘Well, I don’t see any evidence. I don’t feel that.’ It got dark of course. You get angry. You go, ‘Okay, I’m good. I’m out. I got my own money. I can do this by myself. You live your life, I’m good. Look at me. This’ll be fine. But then I began to think about commitment and what I said to God. And how I said for better or for worse. And I began to think about him. I asked myself ‘Is he a mistake or did he make a mistake?’ And I believe he was a good man that made a mistake and there’s a difference. Yes he was irresponsible and selfish and I was consumed with my career. He literally asked me, ‘I need you to be home. Demi Moore Says Her Mother Paid a Man to Rape Her

Demi Moore has gone public with a truly shocking and harrowing admission. It has to do with something that happened to the actress as a teenager… her mother’s role in this tragedy… and the affect it continues to have on the star. According to Moore in her just-released memoir, “Inside Out,” her very own mother orchestrated a sexual assault against Moore when the actress was 15 years old. In this book, Moore claims that her alcoholic mother, Virginia King, began taking her to bars to get noticed by men when Moore was a young teenager. One night, she came home to find an older man there … in possession of a key to the apartment. After this man had raped her, Moore alleges he said her mother had sold her to him. In the book, she writes: “It was rape. And a devastating betrayal, revealed by the man’s cruel question: how does it feel to be whored by your mother for $500?” Asked if she believed the man, Moore told Diane Sawyer in an interview  this week: “I think, in my deep heart no. I don’t think it was a straightforward transaction. But she still did give him the access, and put me in harm’s way.” Moore’s mother died in 1998. At the age of 12, Moore writes that her mom tried to commit suicide and she was the one who saved her life. “I remember using my fingers, the small fingers of a child, to dig the pills my mother had tried to swallow, out of her mouth,” Moore writes in the memoir, labeling this a “life-changing moment” for her. The actress would go on to check into rehab drug and alcohol abuse in the mid 1980s, prior to making it huge in Hollywood with roles in such blockbusters as Ghost, A Few Good Men and Indecent Proposal.
