Tyler Perry On Forgiving His Abusive Father: “I Don’t Think I Ever Felt Safe As A Child”

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Media mogul Tyler Perry was honored this week by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and during the ceremony, he told his peers and fans that he wants his star to live as an emblem for hope. “For anyone whose dreams may be on life support, I want you to walk passed this star in particular and know that I’ve been there,” Perry said in his speech. And for anyone who knows a little bit about the 50-year-old’s epic rise from poverty to penthouse, his story is nothing short of incredible. In a recent cover interview for People, the father of one recounts his childhood as an abused child and explains how he finally forgave his father. “Holding on was hurting me more than him,” he explained. His traumatizing household gave birth to the creativity that would later shape his empire. “I could escape and be somewhere else,” he said of his imagination. Escapism ended up being his saving grace as he dealt with being physically beat by his mother’s husband and molested by family members. “It was rape,” he said. “I didn’t know what was going on or the far-reaching effects of it. I just moved through it,” and lived through the mantra, “Boys don’t cry, shut up and move on.” But his mothers love and his belief in God kept him steady through adversity. And in your marriage you had to put in even more work when he came to you with a confession. What did he tell you? Erica Campbell: He told me that he had been unfaithful and he told me that it had been years back and he told me he thought if he just stopped and just kept moving forward, it would be fine. And he said that he didn’t have peace and he couldn’t rest. And so we talked about it and strangely enough, I kind of knew it. I suspected it. But I was like, ‘Well, I don’t see any evidence. I don’t feel that.’ It got dark of course. You get angry. You go, ‘Okay, I’m good. I’m out. I got my own money. I can do this by myself. You live your life, I’m good. Look at me. This’ll be fine. But then I began to think about commitment and what I said to God. And how I said for better or for worse. And I began to think about him. I asked myself ‘Is he a mistake or did he make a mistake?’ And I believe he was a good man that made a mistake and there’s a difference. Kevin Federline Accuses Jamie Spears of Child Abuse

… and, just like that, Britney Spears’ new hair color doesn’t seem like a very big deal any longer. Not after multiple outlets have confirmed Kevin Federline recently accused his former father-in-law of child abuse. The former professional dancer — who was married to Spears for two years and who shares kids Sean Federline, 13, and Jayden James Federline, 12 — with the global superstar, has filed an official police report  against Jaime Spears. In documents obtained by The Blast, it has been reported that Kevin filed said report on August 25, the day after an alleged physical altercation between Jamie and his and Britney’s oldest son, Sean. This incident supposedly went down at Jamie’s home in Ventura County while he was watching his grandkids. According to TMZ insiders, an altercation between Jamie and Sean turned physical at one point… with Mr. Spears putting his hands on his grandson in violent fashion. It was not by accident, either, these same insiders explain. TMZ writes that Jamie broke down a door to get to his grandson and grabbed him once he was in the room. It’s unclear at this time exactly what precipated to confrontation — not that it matters, of course. The action described above is wildly inappropriate and likely illegal, if the report is true. Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ that there were no visible bruises or injuries to the 13-year old. Nevertheless, this incident was severe enough to Federline that he reported it the next to day to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. While we await further details, we can at least report investigators have already interviewed witnesses and turned over their findings to the District Attorney’s Office. The district attorney is the person who will now determine if there’s enough evidence against Jamie Spears to file charges. Spears and Federline stunned the world when they exchanged vows in 2004; they took fans by less surprise in 2006 when they filed for divorce. This police report filing comes just days after Federline and Spears formalized a custody agreement in which Kevin will have custody of their two sons 70 percent of the time. This has been the general arrangement for about a year, but it is now legal. Prior to this set-up, Kevin and Britney — who have been on very solid terms for many years — shared custody of their kids equally. UPDATE : As you could have guessed, this alleged altercation between Jamie and Sean took place during Britney’s allotted time with the children. We cannot say for certain where she was at the time, but she allegedly took Sean and Jayden away from their grandfather at one point and brought them back to her home.  Federline was called later to pick them up and the boys stayed the evening of August 24 with their father. If Jamie is charged, the crime will more than likely be considered a misdemeanor. Jamie has served as the conservator of his daughter’s estate for nearly a decade. He has often had a turbulent relationship with Federline, especially of late. Earlier this year, Jamie and Kevin went at it in court over an increase in child support for the former DJ as he took over the majority of custody while Britney dealt with mental health issues. Britney has not yet commented on the abuse allegations against her father. UPDATE: Federline has been granted a restraining order against Jamie Spears. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Recap: BunnyGate Returns!

Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was a real hoot.  Kim Richards returned, Lisa Rinna dressed up as Erika Jayne, and there was even some BunnyGate drama. The episode kicked off with Lisa dressing up as Erika, and she nailed it. The purpose of the fancy dress was for Kyle Richards’ Halloween party.  When the party was in full swing, Kim walked in. If you watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills online , you know the last time they spoke on the show was during the Season 7 reunion.  Kim returned a teddy bear to Rinna she had bought for her grandson. It was down to the way the two women butted heads during that particular season.  Kim could not forgive Rinna for telling Eden Sassoon that she (Kim) was not sober and “close to death.” Rinna was shocked because she did not know Kim was going to be at the event. Rinna lapped up playing the version of Erika and brought up BunnyGate.  “You know, I wanna say one thing. Kim, you giving Lisa Rinna that bunny was really c–ty,” Rinna said.  When Kim did not respond, Rinna continued to repeat it until she got a reaction.  “I don’t recall Erika being quite like that,” Kim complained.  Kim then turned to Dorit, Kyle, and Camille to complain about Rinna for being silly and “running around in Erika’s ponytails.” Denise Richards appeared out of nowhere and unleashed holy hell on Kim.    “I think she looks great… Isn’t it about a f–king stuffed animal that we’re talking about? And you know what, it really hurt her feelings,” the new cast member shouted.  “That is a lie,” Kim shot back. “It’s not a f–king lie, Kim. It hurt her feelings!” Denise countered, before trying to tell Kim to “let it go.” Both Kim and Kyle were livid, but the whole thing pushed Kim to find Rinna for a good old sit down.  “I’m not looking for a fight, Lisa,” Kim said to her nemesis. In a true twist, Rinna wanted to put the past behind them.  Kim wanted an apology, but Rinna felt like Kim owed her one. The two ladies finally put the past behind them and agreed to cut the B.S. It’s not often that these ladies manage to move on from things. At this rate, we’ll still be talking about PuppyGate in ten years.  In any case, Brandi Glanville’s big return is sure to shake up the dynamics. She’s back next Tuesday. Scum Of The Earth: “Father” Charged With Drowning Two Autistic Children For Six-Figure Insurance Payment

Source: Phil Ashley / Getty L.A. Man Charged With Driving Two Autistic Kids Into Ocean A Los Angeles area man is finally jailed and charged with drowning his two kids and attempting to kill their mother after a 2015 “accident”. His arrest was delayed due to “insufficient evidence”, but last week, the FBI made it’s move after a thorough investigation according to reports. According to the NY Daily News , Ali Elmezayen, 44, allegedly killed his two children, ages 8 and 13, when he drove his car off of a Los Angeles wharf. Elmezayen purchased “several accidental death insurance policies” amounting to $6 million covering himself, his kids and his domestic partner, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Central California. The accused paid $6,000 a year to maintain that coverage, despite earning less than $30,000 a year. Sketchy AF! Reportedly Elmezayen’s domestic partner couldn’t swim and was also a passenger in the car. She was rescued by a fisherman who witnessed the crash. So sad. May those innocent children rest in peace.

So Sad: Monkey Kills Newborn After Snatching Him From Breastfeeding Mother

Source: Om Prakash Maurya / Getty Monkey Grabs Baby From Mothers Arms Before Biting Him To Death A monkey swiped a newborn baby from his breastfeeding mother’s arms and tragically bit him to death. This attack came only two days before a pack of simians killed a 58-year-old woman in the same Indian city. The 12-day-old infant was in his mother’s arms while inside their home in the city of Agra, which is when the rhesus macaques suddenly barged in and grabbed the baby,  the BBC reported . According to the report, locals ran after the monkey until it finally dropped the severely injured child onto a neighbor’s roof. The baby died of his injuries at a hospital. “The monkey bit the infant’s head and only dropped him when people chased it with sticks and threw stones at it,” Ajay Kaushal, the officer in charge at the nearby police station, told Reuters. The family was obviously devastated following the attack. The child’s uncle Dhirendra Kumar told the BBC,  “There are too many monkeys in the area. We live in fear. We have told the administration so many times to help us but they haven’t done anything. The mother of the baby is too distraught to even speak.” The baby’s grandmother Pushpa Devi told the station that the family would “never recover” from the sudden loss. “I have lost my grandson,” Devi explained. “Just a few hours before the monkey attacked our baby, I had him in my arms. Our baby didn’t have to die. People will talk about it for a while and then forget it. But we have to live with the reality that our baby is gone.” Jus two days after this devastating attack, 58-year-old Bhoomi Devi was killed after monkeys attacked her when she had gone out of her house at Thok Mohalla, The Telegraph India reported. She was rushed to a hospital, but could not be saved. These deaths are the latest in a string of monkey attacks in the city, which is home to an estimated 25,000 monkeys. “Monkeys are everywhere in Agra,” local environmental activist Shravan Kumar Singh told Reuters, adding that the animals have become more aggressive after being displaced from their natural habitats. “They come in search of food, but they snatch and attack as well.” Some local organizations are calling for a complete overhaul of the situation including for authorities to compensate monkey attack victims, for the animals to be sterilized and for their exclusion from legislation protecting wildlife, Singh said.

Roy Halladay Killed in Plane Crash; All-Star Pitcher Was 40 Years Old

Roy Halladay, a former Major League Baseball All-Star, Cy Young Award winner and likely future Hall of Famer, was killed on Tuesday in a plane crash. He was 40 years old. A two-time Cy Young Award recipient, Halladay was the only passenger in a plane that crashed into the Gulf of Mexico, going down near St. Petersburg around 1 p.m. He had just recently purchased the aircraft and couldn’t help but gush over his second life as a pilot in multiple Instagram posts. Wrote Halladay on October 13: “What do clouds feel like? I didn’t know either until I got my new Icon A5! I’m getting bruises on my arms from constantly pinching myself!”  Featured in an article on ICONAircraft.com, Halladay also said the following last month: “I’ve been dreaming about flying since I was a boy but was only able to become a pilot once I retired from baseball.” “I’ve owned other aircraft, but no aircraft embodies the adventure or captured the dream of flying like the A5.” “Not only is it the safest and easiest aircraft I’ve ever flown, it is hands-down the most fun.” “The beaches, lakes, and waterways my family and I get to explore around Florida are mind-blowing.” “Words don’t do justice to what the A5 allows us to experience.” “Even my wife, who used to be uncomfortable in small planes, now asks where we should take the A5 for the weekend. “I’m honored to own the first A5 Founders Edition.” On the mound, Halladay excelled for the Toronto Blue Jay and Philadelphia Phillies. He finished his career with 203 wins and a 3.38 ERA, along with 67 complete games and 20 shutouts. Many considered Halladay to be the best pitcher of his generation. He retired in 2013 and would be eligible for the Hall of Fame next year, following the customary five-year waiting period after a player performs in his final game. The hurler threw a perfect game during the 2010 season and a no-hitter that postseason. Wrote baseball writer Jeff Passan in response to the sad news: “Roy Halladay was an amazing baseball player, a second-to-none worker and, best of all, a genuine, good person in an industry without enough.” “The sadness across baseball right now is overwhelming. Roy Halladay was who everyone wanted to be.” Added the official Major League Baseball Twitter account: We are saddened by the tragic news that Roy Halladay, 2-time Cy Young Award winner & 8-time All-Star, has died in a plane crash.
