Source: Xilla Valentine / GlobalGrind Jordan Peele Speaks On Whether Or Not Marvel Is Cinema The comments Martin Scorsese made about Marvel movies not being cinema has been all throughout the headlines for weeks now–and the latest director to weigh in on the debate is Jordan Peele . It all went down during a discussion at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City on Wednesday, where Peele was asked about Martin Scorsese’s heavy criticism of Marvel. Just as many fans of Peele might imagine, the filmmaker said he’s one into gate-keeping what cinema is and isn’t. He also went on to say that what makes a movie worthwhile is its ability to make an audience feel, particularly while at the movie theater. “I’m not particularly engaged in the ‘What is cinema, what isn’t cinema?’ conversation,” Jordan Peele said, according to the Hollywood Reporter . “My definition of film and what my movie experience is, is movies that you can go and have a theatrical experience, a shared experience with the audience [and] go through emotions: cheers, tears, laughs.” As for Jordan himself, the rapper says he’s actively trying to make movies that will compel people to watch them at the theater. “Those are the movies I’m trying to make, quite frankly. I’m very focused on something that you need to go out to the theater to see while it’s out there because it’s something different.” While there were some rumors that Peele might direct the upcoming Blade film after it was announced at Comic-Con earlier this year, his further comments about superhero films make it clear on why that’s not going to happen. The director spoke on his desire to “see more original material in the theater,” which connects back to what he previously told Rolling Stone about turning down franchise films after the success of Get Out and Us . “It’s a childhood dream to be able to essentially see what you saw in your imagination as a child…But you know, I feel like I only have so much time. I have a lot of stories to tell, and it just doesn’t feel right.”
Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb opened this morning’s new installment of The Today Show with their reactions to a scandal that is both personal and professional: A newly-reported rape accusation against Matt Lauer. As previously detailed, a former NBC staffer named Brooke Nevils told Ronan Farrow for the reporter’s latest book that Lauer sexually assaulted her in a Sochi hotel room during that city’s 2014 Olympic Games. According to Nevils, the ex-Today co-host (who was fired in November 2017 for sexual misconduct ) pushed her down on a bed and asked if she liked anal sex. Nevils then claims she said no , but Lauer ignored her declaration, didn’t use lubricant and raped hre from behind. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent,” Nevils tells Farrow in his book. “It was nonconsensual in that I said, multiple times, that I didn’t want to have anal sex.” She said she “bled for days” as a result of the incident. During the first hour of Wednesday’s edition of Today, Guthrie and Kotb responded to this allegation while sitting side-by-side, the latter in the chair formerly occupied by Lauer. “I feel like we owe it to our viewers to pause for a moment,” Guthrie said. “You know, this is shocking and appalling, and I honestly don’t even know what to say about it. I want to say that we — I know it wasn’t easy for our colleague Brooke [Nevils] to come forward then. It’s not easy now. “And we support her and any women who come forward with claims. It’s just very painful for all of us at NBC and who are at the Today show. It’s very, very, very difficult.” As it turns out, Nevils was the one who issued the complaint in 2017 that prompted Lauer’s firing. Her name was kept secret at the time, however. Shortly after Lauer was let go, a different accusation of rape was leveled against the disgraced star. Kotb, for her part, looked back at Lauer’s 2017 firing, which took place following an official complaint of inappropriate sexual behavior. “I’m looking at you, and I’m having a weird moment that we were sitting here just like this two years ago, and truth be told, Savannah and I did a little prayer upstairs just before just to sort of sort out what we were going to do,” she said. Continued Kotb this morning: “I think it’s like you feel like you’ve known someone for 12 years, and I don’t know if you guys have ever felt like that: You know someone, you know them, you feel like you know them inside and out. “And then, all of a sudden, like, a door opens up, and it’s a part of them you didn’t know. And we don’t know all the facts in all of this, but there are not allegations of an affair. There are allegations of a crime. I think that’s shocking to all of us here who’ve sat with Matt for many, many years. So, I think we’re going to just sort of continue to process this part of this horrific story. “And, as you said, you know, our thoughts are with Brooke. It’s not easy what she did to come forward. It’s not easy at all.” Guthrie concluded by saying “we’re disturbed to our core” and pledged to keep viewers informed of any new developments. Lauer, for his part, broke a lengthy silence in order to respond to this rape allegation. “I had an extramarital affair with Brooke Nevils in 2014,” he said, citing the night in question and stating: “We performed oral sex on each other, we had vaginal sex, and we had anal sex. Each act was mutual and completely consensual.” Lauer later said in his statement: “I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period.” NBC News, meanwhile, told Variety the following on Wednesday: “Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific and reprehensible, as we said at the time. That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague.” View Slideshow: Matt Lauer: A Timeline of Terrible Behavior

Every single time Farrah opens her big ol’ mouth and speaks, it’s just a magical experience, isn’t it? And by “magical,” of course we mean “painfully, unimaginably dumb.” Though, to be fair, the way Farrah is able to twist reality and the English language really could be considered magical. After all, do you know anyone else who who’s capable of mixing up such impressive word salads? Anyway, Farrah is ridiculous, forever and always, and we all know it. But lately, things have been a bit different for her. She’s been out of Teen Mom OG for a good long while now, and since then, she’s kind of been floating in the wind, right? She did a stint on that MTV dating show, she does appearances now and then, and she’s been very active on social media. There have also been a few more adult ventures — remember when she tried to be a sex therapist on her camgirl site ? However, many, many people think she’s been working as a high class escort . The rumor has been floating around for a few years now, but in the past few months, it’s really picked up. The theory is that being a prostitute is how she manages to do so much traveling and to stay in such expensive resorts , and also how she pays for all the work she’s been getting. Like, we know it’s not her keen business sense that’s paying the bills. And let’s not forget that she’s been in legal trouble a few times in the past year. She owes people a whole lot of money. The prostitute theory has been supported by statements from two of Farrah’s former friends, Myla Sinanaj and Phoebe Price, as well as from her own mother. Just last month, someone asked Debra on Instagram how she felt about Farrah working as an escort, and she responded by saying that “God gave each of us free will.” Lots of sites have been reporting on all of this, and lots of people have been discussing it. Enough that when Farrah and Sophia were spotted at LAX and approached by paparazzi, she addressed it. “People always feed the need to drag hard working people down and wreck their families,” Farrah complained. She called those people “idiots and liars and haters.” She also spotted the opportunity to throw an insult at Jenelle Evans, who also accused her of being a prostitute earlier this month. “She definitely has been making poor choices,” Farrah said of Jenelle, apparently linking her to the “idiots and liars and haters” she discussed just before. “I’m just reacting to the facts,” she added. “She lost custody of her kids … that’s not a positive thing to even have on TV.” A feud between Farrah and Jenelle is just pointless, because they’re both awful and we can’t even root for either of them. Instead of focusing on that part, let’s move right ahead to the past where Sophia also spoke with paparazzi, OK? Sophia, totally of her own free will, spoke about her mother, saying “She’s always positive, she always makes me happy when I’m sad.” “And when we go through things like this type of stuff, everything just turns out fine and haters back off.” She also said “Our most mother daughter thing is vacations and travelling, and we really just have a lot of cute moments together.” As for those haters, had a little message for them: “I hope you get karma later in life. Don’t ever do that again because it’s wrong, and we all know that it’s wrong and that should never happen.” View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham Threatens to MURDER Reporter Who Called Her a Prostitute! We already saw that brief teaser of Khloe finding out that Tristan cheated yet again , this time with Jordyn Woods. Now, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is giving fans a sneak peek at Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kylie trying to figure out what happened. At first, Khloe sounds kind of calm about Jordyn … but that quickly changes. “I was getting ready for my interviews,” Kim describes in a voiceover. She remarks about the stunning parallels to how she leanred about Tristan's cheating scandal in April of 2018. “Literally the same thing as the first time,” she says. “And my friend Larsa called me,” Kim says of Larsa Pippen. “To explain that the reporter that she knows was about to write a story.” The story would be “that Jordyn and Tristan were at his home, late night or until 7 in the morning.” “They said they were, like, making out,” Kim continues. “And,” Kim narrates. “I immediately didn't believe it.” “You know, i was like, this can't be true,” Kim shares. We then see her on her phone as she reaches out to her eldest sister. “Hey,” Kim tells Kourtney. “It's me and Khloe.” “I talked to Jordyn,” Khloe reveals to her sisters. “She,” Khloe begins, before commenting: “It's really weird.” “She's not giving me all the information,” Khloe observes. According to Khloe: “She was like 'he was trying to kiss me.'” “And was like 'I can't remember if we did or didn't,'” Khloe says. It sounds very understandable that Khloe and Jordyn were both anxious about this conversation. “I spoke to Jordyn;” Khloe says. “She was in between his legs.” Her legs were, at least. Khloe shows that she began with compassion: “I said 'if you are too nervous to tell me something, you can text me.'” “And,” she continues. “She said 'Okay, I'll call you in five minutes.'” “She hasn't called me,” Khloe notes. “And that was like, twenty minutes ago.” Kylie then joins the conversation, commenting: “It's very weird.” Khloe chimes in, agreeing: “Exactly!” Kylie admits: “This is the first I'm hearing … she was sitting on his lap.” For the record, Jordyn has stated that she was not on his lap, but was seated on a piece of neighboring furniture. Her legs were through his. Khloe then gets a little more intent on getting answers from Jordyn. “I mean,” Khloe expresses. “I need the f–king whole truth!” “So, Tristan's on a plane, flying back from All-Star Weekend,” Kim says for context. Kim explains: “So, Jordyn is the only one that can give Khloe information.” “And,” Kim laments. “She has gone radio silent, now.” “So,” she assesses. “It just must be such a frustrating situation for Khloe to be in, not knowing what's going on and just wanting answers.” We can only imagine. We've all seen Khloe's cry of “liar” into the phone, and seen Khloe's angry tweets at Jordyn accusing her of ruining her family. It will certainly be interesting to see how Khloe got to that point.
Source: Brian Blanco / Getty Florida Man Arrested For “Obscene” Bumper Sticker 23-year-old Dillon Shane Webb from Florida was driving around with an “I eat *ss” sticker on his pickup truck window and now he’s facing obscenity charges. From HuffPost : “Dillon Shane Webb, 23, was arrested Sunday afternoon in Lake City after a Columbia County sheriff’s deputy saw the message on the rear window of the vehicle. When the officer pulled Webb over, he claimed the sticker violated a Florida statute dealing with the possession and distribution of obscene material, according to the Lake City Reporter .” According to the site, Webb responded that they were “just words” and when the officer asked how a parent to a small child would explain those words, Webb reportedly said it would be “up to the parent.” “The deputy then gave Webb a notice to appear at the Columbia County Courthouse on May 23 and took a photo of the offending sticker as evidence,” HuffPost states. “ But when the deputy asked Webb to remove one of the letters from the word ‘*ss’ so the statement on the sticker would ‘no longer be derogatory,’ the suspect refused, citing his First Amendment rights, according to the report.” After refusing to alter the statement, Webb was reportedly charged with resisting, taken to jail, and later released on $2,500 bond. “The truck was towed, but Webb said the sticker was still in place when he retrieved the vehicle from the impound lot. Webb now plans to file a wrongful arrest lawsuit against the sheriff’s office,” Huff Post states. “I guess this cop just didn’t find it funny, and he just thought he has to put me in jail,” Webb reportedly said of being thrown in jail. Again… why are we not surprised ?
Source: Gary Hershorn / Getty Fox News Employee Chastises Colleagues For “White Supremacist Chat Room” Email We already know what type time Fox News is on, so it comes as no surprise that a great many of their employees are in line with the type of white power mentality that people like Tucker Carlson and Lou Dobbs subscribe to. Today comes further evidence of this fact. According to DailyBeast , internal Fox News emails have been leaked to the public where one of the news corps decent employees chided and rebuked his Mein Kampf-y colleagues for sounding like a “white supremacist chat room” on a particularly obsequious email thread in defense of the Fuhrer-In-Chief Donald Trump. As Joe Biden entered the presidential race this week, he did so in direct opposition to Trump. His announcement had a clip of Trump infamous “very fine people on both sides” quote following the race riot in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017. The Fox News douchebags, reporter Doug McKelway and digital senior editor Cody Derespina, tried to argue that Trump never really said those words. McKelway began his email with a Winston Churchill quote: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” He then proceeded to echo the pro-Trump claim that the president never said what he said about the neo-Nazis who marched at the deadly event. McKelway contrasted portions of Biden’s script against the same quotes that pro-Trump outlets have used to claim the president never defended white nationalists. And then the reporter highlighted a quote from his own interview with Brian Lambert, an armed Unite the Right attendee, who portrayed the neo-Nazi rallygoers as victims: “They’re denying people their right to assemble. They’re denying their right to speak freely, however hateful their views may be,” he bemoaned. Cody replied all agreeing with McKelway and providing a link to his interview with marcher Jarrod Kuhn claiming he wasn’t a violent racist, just didn’t want to see the Robert E. Lee statue removed. White House correspondent Jon Decker finally had enough and politely ethered both men on another reply-all email containing dozens of addressees. “I really don’t understand the point you are making,” he wrote. “Jarrod Kuhn was one of those individuals in Charlottesville holding a tiki torch while the mob chanted ‘Jews will not replace us.’” And then: “So much for your Winston Churchill quote,” Decker shot back hours later for all to see. He scolded McKelway for “invoking Churchill to what happened in Charlottesville,” calling it “rather offensive.” In fact, Decker continued, “Based upon the slew of emails that I’ve received today, both of you should send an apology to your Fox News colleagues—many of whom are hurt and infuriated by your respective posts. Your posts read like something you’d read on a White Supremacist chat room.” Sounds like Fox News office politics is just as nasty as their on-air politics. Some real Game of Thrones s#!t. SMH.
