In White Folks News: Sam Smith Reveals He Had Liposuction At Just 12-Years-Old

Source: Dave J Hogan / Getty Sam Smith Talks His Experience Getting Liposuction As A Child Sam Smith just revealed some intimate details about childhood that definitely are going to shock a lot of people. According to the singer, he got liposuction to help with body-image issues when he was only 12-years-old. “I had liposuction, I was 12 years old,” Smith said in an interview with Jameela Jamil on Friday’s episode of her Instagram series I Weigh Interviews.  “At the time I think I was very happy about it. It didn’t really change anything. I think I put the weight back on in two weeks because I hadn’t figured out my relationship with food, so it didn’t really change anything. But being 12 years old and having liposuction on your chest is quite a big deal.” View this post on Instagram A few months ago, I sat down with @jameelajamilofficial and spoke with her for her incredible @i_weigh movement. I know this sounds dramatic but this interview completely changed my life. Being able to talk so openly about my body issues and feeling so safe whilst doing it was truly liberating. I am so thankful to Jameela and her team for this opportunity and being so respectful and kind to me. It took a lot for me to do this and I was so nervous, so please be kind haha. I really hope this can make someone else who feels like me, a little less lonely and a little less alien xx A post shared by Sam Smith (@samsmith) on Mar 15, 2019 at 12:59am PDT The “Stay With Me” singer revealed that he has been self-conscious for as long as he can remember, and used to get bullied because he “had breasts.” While he attributes his struggle with body image today as “the basis of all my sadness,” Sam decided to speak out about his insecurities because he hasn’t “really found many men talking about this.” “Especially no well-known men,” he said. “Even doing this chat feels kind of weird, because guys don’t speak about this that much on a big scale.” He continued, saying, “It’s the toxic masculinity conversation isn’t that, that’s weighing over all the guys all the time. It weighs over me. It doesn’t feel manly to talk about how I feel in my body every day but that’s what I’m trying to fight against.” Following his public revelations, the 26-year-old said that the interview with Jamil completely changed his life. “Being able to talk so openly about my body issues and feeling so safe whilst doing it was truly liberating…It took a lot for me to do this and I was so nervous, so please be kind haha,” he wrote on his instagram post after the interview. “I really hope this can make someone else who feels like me, a little less lonely and a little less alien.” Smith followed up his heartfelt post about the interview by posting a photo of himself in swim trunks proclaiming, “I’m not ashamed.” View this post on Instagram POW @i_weigh @jameelajamilofficial A post shared by Sam Smith (@samsmith) on Mar 15, 2019 at 10:07am PDT

“Bodak Yellow” Producer JWhiteDidIt Compares Cardi B’s Success To That Of A Young 50 Cent (Exclusive)

Read more:

Source: Courtesy of JWhiteDidIt Just before Cardi B and Nicki Minaj got into it again on social media, JWhiteDidIt visited the Global Grind offices to chat about his success with Bardi Gang’s formidable leader. As the producer behind “Lick,” “Bodak Yellow,” “Money Bag,” “I Like It” and her latest offering “Money,” JWhite has assisted Cardi in growing her credibility as an artist—in July, Billboard reported that Cardi is the first female rapper to earn two Billboard Hot 100 no. 1 records with “I Like It” and “Bodak Yellow.” Swish! In our interview the Kansas City producer talks all about watching Cardi progress . He also gets into why “Bodak Yellow” became the hit that it did, how her team decided to do a Spanish record, opening more doors for Latin music, and compares Cardi B’s success to that of a young 50 Cent. Get into it. On Cardi Honing Her Craft & Taking The Reigns “How I came in, I was a producer and Cardi was working on the mixtape and just trying to get records. I know as a producer we lead the show, so it was more like ‘Ok Cardi, we gonna do this, we gonna do that.’ But now, over the years she has developed an ear for what she likes and I think that’s dope for anybody to grow—and she’s been growing rapidly, as we all can see. I’m proud of her.” On “Bodak Yellow” & Why It Was Such A Big Hit “Timing, to be honest. None of us knew that it would be a hit record, we just knew that it was different and it was hard and it just felt good. You could hear the frustrations in Cardi’s voice, you could hear the hunger…and I think a lot of people at the time felt that.” When asked if the goal was to make a classic NY record, specifically, he added “No the goal was to, in my head, get a song that’s bigger than ‘Lick.’ ‘Lick’ was doing OK for the streets, but I know Cardi wanted that song on the radio. My job as a producer, and her team at the time, was to help give her that record. That was the goal, really.” “Honestly I thought ‘Bodak Yellow’…was [only] going to get us to another record. I didn’t think number one… ’cause it’s a weird record,” he said. “She’s from the Bronx and I’m from Kansas City and I think that mashup of sound…felt good for everybody and I think that’s why it worked. Cardi was something new, a breath of fresh air to this industry. Now look, she’s still commanding the airwaves.” Source:Courtesy of JWhiteDidIt On How “I Like It” Came About & The Decision To Incorporate More Spanish Into Her Sound “We were at the Atlantic offices and the CEO, Craig Kallman, he [told me] ‘I have this idea. I don’t know what record, I don’t know what song…but she needs a Latin record, but trapped out. It needs to have that ‘Bodak’ feel, or it needs to have an urban feel to it. We need to flip the song.’ So, that’s how that happened. I went to his house and he played me a lot of records—literally.” JWhite said Kallman played him so many records that he eventually started to doze off. “He’s playing me each Spanish record and…all I hear is ‘Yeaaaah baby!’ and I was like ‘That’s the one.’ The Pete Rodriguez joint, it woke me up because it was already a classic record. It’s hard to do but, we made another classic out of an already classic record, which is crazy. Everybody was a part of that record, because man it was work! On the production end…going through the sample, chopping it up the right way, just making it seem simple. But it paid off to get another number one. Later in our chat, he said the record “will open more doors for Latin music.” “It’s crazy hearing all these new records that have the Latin influence,” he adds. On Cardi B Saying She’s In The Game To Make Hits , Not Be Lyrical,  & His Own Goals When They Create “Is she making money?! Is she making hits?! [Her statement] was real! I know how I feel about it is: it definitely feels good to makes hits, it feels good to make money, but it also feels good to bring people together—something that ‘Bodak Yellow’ did for the freaking culture! What song had a TV special? We had a TV special on Revolt…about a song!” He goes on to compare Cardi’s success to a young 50 Cent’s: “I feel like ‘Bodak Yellow’ is the female ‘In Da Club’ when that was out. I might be reaching, but I feel like it’s one of the biggest female hip hop records ever, if not the biggest. We had the most gangster of gangsters rapping it and my granddad, he’s a preacher, he knows the song.” On Working With Mary J Blige & More JWhite revealed he’s worked with a ton of artists, including Eric Bellinger, Fetty Wap, LeToya Luckett, and more—but working with living legend MJB seemed to be a highlight of his career. When asked if he saw her recent (drop dead gorgeous) photos, he talked about how beautiful she is inside and out: “When I seen Mary J. Blige in that studio I said ‘Halleluuuujah!’ I said ‘I dont know what done happened up in here!’ She’s beautiful. That outside is beautiful, but so is the inside. Me really hearing her talk and seeing who she is as a person, I got so much more respect for her, this legendary person that was so gracious enough to do two days with me in the studio and was open and excited about music…and to see somebody that’s been in the game that long…crazy!”

Big Brother Recap: The Surprise Eviction Divides the House

It was the end of the line for one houseguest on Wednesday’s special eviction episode of Big Brother.  The host once again introduced herself as “Julie Chen Moonves,” meaning she’s brushing off all of the controversy she stirred up on Thursday night.  When the episode kicked off, the houseguests looked genuinely blindsided when they were told eviction night was coming one night early.  “One should always expect the unexpected,” said Julie, who was clearly surprised the houseguests were not shocked.  We then got to learn about what happened over the past few days, and Sam was pissed to be put on the block for the fourth time.  “These people don’t want to hurt me,” she says. “They just want the money.” While that made sense, Sam was adamant she wanted to win the “motherf—— veto.” Sam felt safe … for now.  In her mind, Tyler was going to keep her safe until final two, so she felt like JC would be the one heading out the door during the surprise episode.  Kaycee, Angela, and Tyler watched JC from the HOH room, and they could see that he was visibly defeated.  He was alone following Brett’s eviction and feels like he has no fight left in him.  JC used this to his advantage when he chatted with Tyler about being on the block.  “I need to remind you I’m your friend, not your pawn,” JC said, adding: “If you win the veto and you pull me off, [Angela] has to put Kaycee.” But this only further turned Tyler against him because he felt like JC was putting him in an impossible spot.  At the veto competition, Kaycee continued her winning streak, and Tyler continued to worry even after she decided against using the power.  “Dammit, I hate this game sometimes, man,” Tyler said to viewers. “I gotta do what I gotta do to win, but that means I have to backstab some of the best people.” At the eviction, Sam was sent packing with a vote of 2-0, and she was surprised.  Upon exiting, she stayed classy and asked someone to deal with her belongings. In her chat with Julie, she never threw anyone under the bus, but she looked mad as hell.  Kaycee, Tyler, and JC competed in the “What The Bleep?” competition and it played out as follows: Round 1: JC & Tyler get a point  Round 2: JC gets a point  Round 3: No one gets a point Round 4: Everyone gets a point Round 5: Everyone gets a point Round 6: JC & Tyler get a point  Round 7: JC & Tyler get a point Oh yes, JC actually won a competition! Given that Tyler has been the one not keeping his word, it would make sense for him to be the target.  However, there’s still a veto to play. Will Kaycee win ANOTHER veto?  Who will go home?  We don’t have long to wait to find out because another episode airs tonight at 9/8c on CBS.  View Slideshow: Big Brother: Meet the Most Controversial Houseguests

Lil Wayne Now Owns Young Money Entirely, Talks ‘Tha Carter V’ & More

Source: Jessica Alexander/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN Lil Wayne has a recording artist since he was a boy and now approaching the age 36, he has done just about everything there is to do within the recording industry. Now back in full control of his Young Money music imprint, the Lousiana artist revealed the long path to releasing his long-awaited Tha Carter V album and much more. In a sit down with Billboard , the artist born Dwayne Michael Carter shared some insight about his creative process and isn’t putting too much pressure on himself as it relates to Tha Carter V . As it stands, Weezy F. Baby has finally settled into his status in the game but also approaches his craft with a measured sense of carefulness. A lot is riding on his upcoming album, which is anticipated to drop this year. In the chat, Wayne dropped several thoughts, such as being inspired by his four children as he and his former business partner and father figure Bryan “Birdman” Williams engaged in a years-long legal battle while trying to patch up their longstanding connection damaged by their fallout. While he said that he and Birdman do speak, mostly about sports, he’s keeping his distance as he focuses on tightening up his album. From Billboard : Wayne and Birdman are back to talking every day, usually about the Red Sox. But Wayne is less trusting and focused on his album. “Not even just with him, but my relationships with a lot of people have become different, just because of how different I work now,” he says. “I’m submerged in everything about myself, trying to be better at who I am. It’s something where you have to cut some things off.” Four months ago, Wayne moved into this new space, with the skate park and ESPN playing on mute around the clock in the recording studio. Soon after, he injured his heel, which kept him off his board for a month and forced him into the studio full time. It was, he says, “God telling me, ‘You have to go to work, bro.’” After experiencing a series of widely reported seizures between 2013 and 2017, Wayne has cut his marathon recording sessions from what he says were 26-hour runs down to “12 or 14” hours. “That’s the main thing that friends and family and the doc and all them recommend,” he says. “Just get you some rest.” Read more from Billboard here . — Photo: WENN

Source: Patricia Schlein/WENN.com / WENN By now, the journey of Desus & Mero going from Twitter’s most-retweeted funnymen to media darlings is known to most. After the ending of their popular show on Viceland, it has since come out that the network pulled the plug two months early on the pair, who both suggest that they were largely undervalued. In an exclusive sit-down with Bossip after appearing together at the Atlanta Symphony Hall, the Bodega Boys told their side of the story involving the end of their time up at Viceland. From Bossip : “Can I just be messy off the rip right now?” Desus began. “Vice has us for 2 more months….we did not leave Vice, Vice ended our contract. They were in their feelings because we were leaving.” He continued, explaining, “We could still be doing the show, and it bothers me because now people are tagging us like ‘do this, do this, what would your reactions be for this?’ and I’m like, ‘yo wow, what would my reaction be?’” Mero summed up the situation succinctly: “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.” The pair added in the chat that Viceland wanted them to shoot 160 episodes per year and to not take a vacation as it tanked their ratings. Desus and Mero’s show, by their account, was the network’s highest-rated show and the online chatter surrounding them certainly signified that. For their part, Desus and Mero don’t seem bitter about the split and instead are poised to keep giving Bodega Hive the content they’ve come to know and love. — Photo: WENN

Jerry Seinfeld Chops It Up With David Letterman Ahead Of New Episodes Of Comedians In Cars

Read the original here:

Jerry Seinfeld and David Letterman got together for an epic conversation on Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman . During their chat David asked Jerry about Michelle Wolf’s performance at the White House Correspondent Dinner and Jerry explained that he doesn’t really talk about politics. He prefers to ponder about raisins. Jerry also has new episodes of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee hitting Netflix in June so be on the looking out for that as well. Source: Netflix / Netflix DAVID LETTERMAN: Michelle Wolf, may I, if you’ll indulge me … JERRY SEINFELD: Sure, go ahead. LETTERMAN: So I saw the complete script of what she had done. The more I got to thinking about it, I thought “wow, that was great.” Because, just, whatever the reaction – there’s no damage. And she had the guts to stand up there and didn’t apologize, where everybody is now apologizing for everything. So whether you liked it or not, I really had great admiration for the fact that she was able to just walk into that room and decimate the place (applause). But, you know her? SEINFELD: No, I don’t know her, I’ve just seen her on TV. But everybody talks about how dedicated – that she’s out every night working on her stuff and those are the kind of people I really like. LETTERMAN: Do you do Trump stuff when you go out? SEINFELD: No, it doesn’t interest me. I do a lot of raisin stuff. LETTERMAN: What? SEINFELD: Raisins, I have a lot of raisin material. Because you know, you have the Sun-Maid company … LETTERMAN: Ahhhh. SEINFELD: And then you have the Raisinet people. LETTERMEN: Yeah, that’s right. And you’re going to go with the Sun-Maid people. SEINFELD: I just think it’s interesting that after 80 years, Sun-Maid finally went “hey, why don’t we put some chocolate on it.” Imagine not thinking of that for 80 years. So that really gets me excited that people pay me to talk about those kinds of things.

‘RHOAS10’ Recap: Porsha Is Not Interested In Nene’s Apology Suggestion

Source: Bravo / Getty Tonight’s season finale of Real Housewives of Atlanta is only build up to all the drama that will unfold at next week’s reunion. We start with Porsha and Vivica A. Fox interviewing on Dish Nation because it’s the opening night of their play, Two Can Play That Game , which is based on the movie (that also starred Vivica A. Fox). Say what you want about Porsha, but she sure be werking…and working! via GIPHY In other news, Kandi and Eva are getting along well, and since Eva is new to Atlanta and her birthday is coming up (the day before Halloween), it’s only right that Kandi suggests she have a birthday party. You know what that means, issa Halloween party! via GIPHY Next, we see Kandi, Sheree and Cynthia kicking it at Sheree’s finally completed home (including the basement) and they discuss Porsha. Sheree feels some type of way about Porsha she heard that Porsha told Shamea that she didn’t trust her. You know news travels fast, far and wide in this circle, and everyone is fragile. Sheree then reveals that Kim only tolerated Porsha because she was around Sheree. Basically, The rest of the episode is build up to the party where there will be lots of trite chats. Now let’s get to party time! The fun part is the costumes. Cynthia killed her costume dressed like 50 Cent, but 50 Cynt. Get it? Then Nene comes through dressed up as an exterminator because she’s an expert troll. Do you get it? She knew Kim would be there and of course, there’s the roach-gate situation that they’re beefing over. So, here we are. Nene even brought her hubby Gregg in on it. He came dressed like a cockroach. Petty af! Sheree and Porsha get their moment to talk and it gets tense for a minute when Lauren (Porsha’s sister) and Sheree go at it a bit. Then Porsha calmly tells Sheree that she said what she said to Shamea after Barcelona when she was feeling attacked and feeling some type of way about Sheree always being involved in drama, yatta yatta. Kim was standing next to Sheree chiming in with extra little commentary that no one asked for. Then Kim and Sheree walk away before things get too crazy. Nene grabs Porsha and tries to calm her down. Then Marlo interrupts their chat with a disingenuous attempt to apologizes to Porsha, but she really just ends up poking Porsha. You know how she does. Porsha deescalates by walking way and Marlo follows her. via GIPHY Porsha does a good job of being unbothered until Marlo finally backs off. Porsha and Nene finally have the chat they attempted to have. Basically, it’s Nene telling Porsha to take accountability for her actions and that she should attempt to get the group to move on by apologizing to all of them for whatever it is she has done. Nene was trying to have this happen at the party because that’s appropriate. Smh. Porsha declines. She thinks they’re all fake anyway and we leave it at that. Next week is reunion time and there will be plenty to say, particularly to Kim!
