Cassandra Waldon, Groundbreaking Big Brother Contestant, Dead at 56

Very sad news today out of the reality television universe: Cassandra Waldon, a memorable CBS personality who became the first-ever Big Brother contestant to enter the house on the U.S. version of this program, has been killed. She was 56 years old. According to TMZ, the outlet that broke this sad piece of news, Waldon passed away on September 25 from injuries related to a car accident in Rome. A source at the United Nations — where Cassandra worked — tells the celebrity gossip website that the ex-reality star struck by a vehicle about two months ago, suffering a head injury in the process. Tragically, she never regained consciousness before her death. The standout former Big Brother contestant is now being remembered and mourned by those who knew who well. And those who remember her run way back in the day. Host Julie Chen, for instance, wrote the following on Instagram: “Thank you for bringing your intelligence, warmth and wisdom to the Big Brother house Season 1.” In the end, Weldon finished sixth out of 10 houseguests. In the history of the U.S. version of Big Brother, no contestant who entered the home first has ever come out on top. The same actually holds true for the Canadian version. Prior to her passing, Weldon worked at the UN as its Director of Communications for the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She was living and working in Rome when the crash took place. Fans of Big Brother are also speaking out on social media about this tragedy. “Sad news, Cassandra Waldon of Big Brother 1 passed away last month,” one fan wrote, adding: “She worked at the U.N. at the time she was on the show, and was well-liked by her roomies and viewers alike.” Added another: “Such a shame… She was my favorite contestant on season one. She was so thoughtful and smart.” Added Chen in her tribute: “Your light will continue to shine in this world because of the way you lived your life: with class and grace… You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. May God Bless your soul.” TMZ reports that told her funeral will be held next weekend in her home state of Maryland. May she rest in peace. Big Brother Couple Reveals Miscarriage in Middle of Season 20

Bayleigh Dayton and Swaggy C concluded Big Brother Season 20 on quite a high note: On Wednesday evening, the reality star shocked viewers by getting engaged on an emotional and intense finale. Two days later, however, the pair got together for a YouTube video and confessed that this major high followed a tragic low just a few weeks earlier. Bayleigh miscarried Swaggy's baby while the CBS series was in the middle of filming. “During our time in the Big Brother house, I did conceive a little baby, but unfortunately — and we don't know why — but I had a miscarriage in the jury house,” Dayton says in the video featured here, adding; “It's something that we're still figuring out. We actually just got a chance to talk to each other about it for the first time today.” The news came as a surprise, it sounds like, but a welcome one. “I would've been ecstatic if I were to have a baby,” Bayleigh continued. “It would've been a blessing, and we were both really excited when we found out. And we were both really, really upset when we found out we lost it. [Swaggy] knew that I lost the baby before he decided to propose, and he still decided to propose. “So the whole people saying, 'He's only proposing 'cause I'm pregnant' thing — that's hurtful, so stop.” Swaggy reiterated this point when it was his turn to speak. “People keep saying that I'm proposing because she's pregnant, and that's not the case at all,” he said. “But going through that process and creating a child but also losing a child with her made me realize that this is my girl, and I'm going to marry her. “I don't care that we've only been together for 23 days. I don't care. This is the one I wanna spend the rest of my life with.” Dayton and Swaggy became the first stars to ever get engaged on a Big Brother finale. And, we'd have to assume, the first stars to suffer this sort of tragedy during filming as well. As a caption to the video, Swaggy wrote the following: We know the rumors going around. Bayleigh and I were so excited to be parents. 6 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately, circumstances happen and we had a miscarriage. I wanna thank the HIVE for taking care of my Fiancé in the jury house during her hospital visits, and I wanna thank both of our families for keeping me sane afterwards. Also, a thanks to CBS for making sure she was taken care of properly.  Love you all. Thank you for your support. Check out the emotional footage now.

Big Brother Recap: The Surprise Eviction Divides the House

It was the end of the line for one houseguest on Wednesday’s special eviction episode of Big Brother.  The host once again introduced herself as “Julie Chen Moonves,” meaning she’s brushing off all of the controversy she stirred up on Thursday night.  When the episode kicked off, the houseguests looked genuinely blindsided when they were told eviction night was coming one night early.  “One should always expect the unexpected,” said Julie, who was clearly surprised the houseguests were not shocked.  We then got to learn about what happened over the past few days, and Sam was pissed to be put on the block for the fourth time.  “These people don’t want to hurt me,” she says. “They just want the money.” While that made sense, Sam was adamant she wanted to win the “motherf—— veto.” Sam felt safe … for now.  In her mind, Tyler was going to keep her safe until final two, so she felt like JC would be the one heading out the door during the surprise episode.  Kaycee, Angela, and Tyler watched JC from the HOH room, and they could see that he was visibly defeated.  He was alone following Brett’s eviction and feels like he has no fight left in him.  JC used this to his advantage when he chatted with Tyler about being on the block.  “I need to remind you I’m your friend, not your pawn,” JC said, adding: “If you win the veto and you pull me off, [Angela] has to put Kaycee.” But this only further turned Tyler against him because he felt like JC was putting him in an impossible spot.  At the veto competition, Kaycee continued her winning streak, and Tyler continued to worry even after she decided against using the power.  “Dammit, I hate this game sometimes, man,” Tyler said to viewers. “I gotta do what I gotta do to win, but that means I have to backstab some of the best people.” At the eviction, Sam was sent packing with a vote of 2-0, and she was surprised.  Upon exiting, she stayed classy and asked someone to deal with her belongings. In her chat with Julie, she never threw anyone under the bus, but she looked mad as hell.  Kaycee, Tyler, and JC competed in the “What The Bleep?” competition and it played out as follows: Round 1: JC & Tyler get a point  Round 2: JC gets a point  Round 3: No one gets a point Round 4: Everyone gets a point Round 5: Everyone gets a point Round 6: JC & Tyler get a point  Round 7: JC & Tyler get a point Oh yes, JC actually won a competition! Given that Tyler has been the one not keeping his word, it would make sense for him to be the target.  However, there’s still a veto to play. Will Kaycee win ANOTHER veto?  Who will go home?  We don’t have long to wait to find out because another episode airs tonight at 9/8c on CBS.  View Slideshow: Big Brother: Meet the Most Controversial Houseguests

Julie Chen: Will She Leave Big Brother, Too?

At this point, Julie Chen is as synonymous with Big Brother as racism, homophobia and stunning evictions. And yet fans of this long-running reality show are now refreshing their browsers every other minute in order to learn the answer to the following question: Is Chen about to say goodbye as host? Questions about Chen’s future on CBS in general are understandably prominent at the moment, considering she just left The Talk . The veteran panelist did so amidst a sexual misconduct scandal surrounding husband Les Moonves, who just lost his job as CBS President due to allegations that he forced himself upon multiple women a couple decades ago. In a video message that aired on Tuesday’s edition of The Talk ( is that not the dumbest name ever for a program?!? ), Chen told viewers that she simply needs to be around her family as much as possible these days. “Right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and young son,” she said rather simply. We wonder if the intense criticism that came Chen’s way last week also played a role in this decision. Upon signing off from Big Brother a few days ago, Chen showed obvious support for Moonves by attaching his last name to hers for the first time ever on air. Social media blew up over this move. Is it shocking that Chen is standing by her man? Not really. But many viewers were still aghast over such a public display because Moonves is accused of some pretty heinous stuff . And he hasn’t exactly denied it, either . View Slideshow: Julie Chen Shows Subtle Support for Husband, Gets Destroyed on Twitter So, this all brings us back to Big Brother. Chen is expected to stay on as host through the Season 20 finale on September 26. According to Us Weekly, no decision has been made beyond this episode, with various network executives thinking it’s best if she just goes away. They figure the less association CBS has overall with Moonves or anyone in his family, the better. If Chen does leave – and this remains a big IF – season 2 winner Dr. Will Kirby would reportedly be under consideration as her replacement. The same can be said, according to this tabloid’s sources, of Celebrity Big Brother runner-up Ross Mathews and Big Brother Canada host Arisa Cox. TMZ, meanwhile, claims that Chen wants to return to Big Brother and that the current plan is for her to do so… … IF Big Brother is renewed, that is. Forget Chen’s future on the show, this website writes . The future of the actual show is in question. So that’s where things stand at the moment. Many unanswered questions are out there. Would YOU want to see Chen return as host? And would YOU want to see Big Brother return for Season 21?

Kelly Clarkson Accused of Diva Behavior on The Voice

It seems like just yesterday that we were hearing who won Season 13 of The Voice , but Season 14 will be here before you know it. This year, Kelly Clarkson is joining the The Voice as one of the coaches. But … apparently things aren’t all smiles behind the scenes. In fact, a report claims that Clarkson is a total diva backstage and almost impossible to work with. 35-year-old Kelly Clarkson first rose to fame on the inaugural season of American Idol . From her humble, “white trash” beginnings — her words — she skyrocketed to stardom with a successful music career. As much as fans hate when Kelly Clarkson says stupid things , they love to see her shut down body-shamers  in a very down-to-earth way. Mostly, they love her music. Now, she’s joining Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Alicia Keys as a coach on The Voice . But, according to RadarOnline ‘s source, Kelly Clarkson’s alleged diva behavior is causing some tensions and unhappiness and the season hasn’t even begun to air. Apparently, there are a number of problems. “She’s not the person that everyone thought she was going to be.” Based upon Kelly Clarkson’s branding, people probably expected a down-to-earth, minimal-nonsense singer with humble roots who is hesitant to bash anyone. And the source gets pretty specific about what they got instead. “She is bossy and argumentative.” Apparently some of the problems began before she even walked in the door. “The other judges, especially Blake, already had an issue with her.” That issue, it seems, was financial in nature. “Because of the amount of money they reportedly paid her to join the cast.” But it goes beyond the bottom line and extends to promos. “One of the main issues is that producers are making Kelly a central focus on everything.” This sounds familiar. “And she is also taking center stage on all of the promos that are being shot so far.” You know how Kate Mulgrew was famously unhappy with how Jeri Ryan become front-and-center on every billboard and ad for Star Trek: Voyager back in the ’90s? This sounds like that same kind of resentment — but with personality issues to make things personal. The source goes on to list Kelly Clarkson’s other alleged grating habits. “She comes in when she wants to.” Oooh, that’s never good. And very diva. “She seems to think that it is all one big game.” I mean, it is literally a talent competition. It’s a game. (But we get their meaning, here — her alleged behavior is unprofessional to an off-putting degree) “At the same time, she is overly certain that she will win this season.” Cavalier and cocky at the same time? Yikes. “Of course Blake is irritated with Kelly! Everyone is.” Blake’s come up more than once, perhaps because we’ve heard some things about Blake Shelton’s alleged diva behavior , too. It sounds like they both need a dose of reality. They’re on The Voice . Nobody gets to put on airs when they’re judging a reality series. No matter how much they’re getting paid.

Kardashian Family to Kylie Jenner: We HATE the Name Stormi!

If you’ve been anywhere near an internet-enabled device in the past few days, then you’re no doubt aware that Kylie Jenner has welcomed her first child . While she remained secretive throughout her pregnancy, Kylie has been surprisingly candid in the days since she became a mom. We’ve already seen the first photo of Kylie’s daughter . We know that the little girl is named Stormi. And now we’ve learned that Kylie’s family hates that goofy name just as much as the rest of the internet does. “Kylie’s family thinks that Stormi is a ridiculous name to begin with, but Kylie does not care!” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online. In fairness to Kylie, the criticism is a bit unexpected coming from the family that previously gave us such unusual monikers as North, Saint, Chicago, and Reign. “They just think that it sounds too depressing and it isn’t fit for a little girl,” the insider adds. Kylie apparently knew the name would be criticized and she simply didn’t care. As for the rumor that she was inspired by Stormy Daniels , the porn star who became a household name as a result of Donald Trump’s latest sex scandal, insiders claim it’s demonstrably untrue. Footage shot during her pregnancy will reportedly prove that Kylie chose the name several months ago, before the Daniels accusations came to light. “They wanted something original that no one has, which is why she went with Stormi,” the source says. And it seems it’s not just Stormi’s first name that’s got Kris Jenner and company upset. The family is reportedly peeved by Kylie’s decision to name her child Stormi Webster  to honor the original name of the girl’s father, Travis Scott. “Kylie and Kris had it out over the selection of her baby’s name and Kris was appalled that she is using Travis’s original last name for everything and not including Jenner at all on Stormi’s birth certificate,” says the source. It does seem strange that someone as status-obsessed as Kylie wouldn’t bestow her very famous last name upon her child. But then again, it’s not like little Stormi Webster will ever want anything. Which is good, because she’s in for a lifetime of jokes about Emmanuel Lewis becoming a meteorologist. View Slideshow: Stormi?!? The Internet is Here to Laugh Over Kylie Jenner’s Baby Name

Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando: Yup, They Had Sex!

Richard Pryor died in 2005. Marlon Brando died in 2004. Yet the former iconic comedian and legendary actor are in the news this week for one unexpected reason: They apparently had sex… with each other! This surprising connection was first mentioned by Quincy Jones in a wide-ranging interview with Vulture, during which the music producer said the following of Brando: “He was the most charming motherf-cker you ever met. He’d f-ck anything. Anything! “He’d f–k a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye.” Naturally, such a statement got the Internet talking and wondering about the film star, who won two Academy Awards and is considered by some to be the best actor of all-time. Just a few hours after this quote went viral, though, Pryor’s widow came out and put an end to the speculation. She actually confirmed the sexual relationship! Said Jennifer Lee to TMZ when asked about the rumored dalliance: “It was the ’70s! Drugs were still good, especially quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you’d f-ck a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.” Well… okay then! Pryor’s widow added that Pryor would find it hilarious that Jones spilled these beans if he were alive today and that he had no shame about his bisexuality. Pryor and Lee were married in the early 1980s and again in 2001; they were together up until the stand-up’s death in 2005. Altogether, Pryor was married to five different woman and had seven children. Brando, meanwhile, was married three times and fathered 11 children. They may have carried on an affair with each other at one point, but they very much got around overall. That much is clear. Back in 1976, speaking to a French journalist, Brando happily opened up about his sexuality. “Like a large number of men, I, too, have had homosexual experiences, and I am not ashamed,” he said at the time, adding: “I have never paid much attention to what people think about me. But if there is someone who is convinced that Jack Nicholson and I are lovers, may they continue to do so. “I find it amusing.”  So it sounds like he would also be amused by Jones telling the world about his banging of Pryor. To put this in context, for those unfamiliar with Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando and the levels of fame each achieved back in the 1960s and 1970s: This news would be akin to learning that Jerry Seinfeld had slept with Tom Hanks. Hence the reaction across social media in response to Pryor’s widow’s admission. The confirmation even reached actor Don Cheadle, for instance, who joked on Twitter when asked if he had slept with any male celebrities: “nah. that’s not my thing. but if it was, yeah, brando back in the day could get it.” In his chat with Vulture, meanwhile, Jones also said he knows who killed John F. Kennedy and said he once dated Ivanka Trump. In other words: this Pryor/Brando bombshell may have been the least interesting part of his Q&A!

Celebrity Big Brother Recap: Omarosa Forms an All-Female Alliance!

From the moment Julie Chen introduced us to the Celebrity Big Brother house, it was clear this was going to be a season like no other.  Julie wasted no time in introducing us to the houseguests. They are Metta World Peace, Ariadna Guiterrez, Ross Mathews, Brandi Glanville Mark McGrath, Omarosa, Marissa Jaret Winokur, James Maslow, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Shannon Elizabeth. Yeah, it’s clear the producers scraped the bottom of the barrel with some of them, but Omarosa made it clear from the get-go that she was in the house to play.  Her dress was just too much, but it showed she did not care about what the others thought of her. Omarosa wanted to have an all-female alliance to get the men out.  In doing so, it revealed a glaring flaw in the format. There were six females and five males when the season kicked off. It’s certainly an odd number.  Before Brandi entered the house, her stylist said she would need to keep her mouth shut, or she ran the risk of becoming an early target. She did not take that to heart and immediately started dragging James Maslow for speaking about his vocal range.  Brandi felt like Mark McGrath should have been speaking about vocal range because he was in the business for a longer time. This rattled James, who told Mark he needed to win HOH and put up Brandi.  Omarosa spoke to Shannon about creating an alliance with the ladies, and it became a reality a few scenes later. The men were too busy messing around to notice the women becoming a force to be reckoned with.  At the HOH competition, Omarosa won immunity from the first eviction, and it allowed her to step out of the competition for the week.  The houseguests had to hold on to a supersized award for dear life. The women dominated the competition, and it came down to James and Shannon.  James was visibly struggling and tried to cut a deal with Shannon to keep him safe, but Omarosa interjected, saying that James was close to falling so a deal would be unfair to Shannon.  In a confessional, Omarosa dished that she knew she did not want to align with James and that’s why she shut down the dealmaking during the competition.  Shannon won the first HOH of the season, but Julie dropped a bomb of epic proportions on the houseguests. They all had to pick a gift that would have some Big Brother swag or a game-changing twist.  That twist would allow the lucky recipient to overthrow the HOH and become the one in power for that week. James knew the odds were stacked against him, but the episode concluded before we got down to it.  What did you think of the opener? Will you continue watching? Hit the comments below! Big Brother Recap: A Storm Rocks The House

After that big veto ceremony left Matt and Raven on the block, it was evident that there were going to be fireworks on the latest episode of the CBS hit.  When the tense episode got underway, Jason went straight into the storage room and questioned the decision he had just made. Alex followed him and said it was always going to cause a fight.  While they were in there wondering what they could do, Matt and Raven were in the Kitchen yelling because they were apparently blindsided. Paul took Raven outside to cool off and let her know he was there for her.  He was using her shock to his advantage so she would remember that he was there for her when Jason stuck the knife in. Matt stayed inside and yelled about Jason being a “punk bitch.” When Jason made his exit from the storage room, Matt was outside with Raven, so he went to the door and put his ear to it to see if he was still the hot topic around the house.  He was.  Matt made his way inside and called Jason out for hiding and kept calling him names. “I never expected a cowboy like you to be a p—y like that,” he yelled. Here’s the thing with Matt: He has played ZERO game. He has spent the summer with his face inside a bowl of cereal and canoodling with Raven.  Maybe if they actually WON a competition or spoke to the other houseguests, they would have been safe. Instead, they wanted to blame everybody but them.  At the end of the day, they are both cowards and have stated many times they wanted to make it to the jury. Maybe the common word around the house is that Paul is winning, so they are all settling for the jury.  It’s sad seeing all of these idiots give up and not play the game. Matt was even down for throwing his life in the game away to save Raven. Like, does he not know $500,000 is at stake? Why would you give up your shot at that money for someone you barely know?  Matt then tried to move the target on to Kevin … and it worked. He asked Kevin about the hinky vote last week. We all know it was Alex and Jason who voted against him.  Kevin swore on his kids that he did not vote against Matt. And, the cookie crumbled for Christmas when she argued with Kevin.  She asked him about going to the pool, and she got pissed that he asked her the same thing. However, Josh joined in the conversation and asked about the $25,000.  It got tense, but Kevin refused to swear on his kids again. This confirmed to Christmas that Alex was the other vote with Jason and it made her realize they are more dangerous than they get credit for.  Sometime later, Kevin went to speak to Matt, and Paul noted that Kevin does this every week when someone is about to be evicted. He makes friends with them so that he has a jury vote.  This successfully turned the rest of the house against Kevin, and Kevin knew when Josh started piping up that it was all part of the mob mentality to rattle him.  When it came to the eviction, Matt was given a penalty vote for not following the have not way of life, and was evicted by a landslide. I just can’t with this guy.  He has got to be one of the worst players… ever.  He almost made Julie fall off her chair laughing when he said that Raven was one of the best players of the game and that she could win.  “Do you really think she has a shot to win? She hasn’t won anything,” the host said.  As if that was not bad enough, we did not even get to see the HOH competition play out. The rain in Los Angeles was just too much of a risk. Raven still did not have waterproof makeup, so that was that.  What did you think of the latest episode? View Slideshow: Big Brother Winners: RANKED!

Big Brother Recap: Is Josh Ready to Ditch Paul?

We think it’s fair to say that Big Brother 19 has featured some of most epic arguments in the history of Big Brother, and it’s making for a house divided.  When the episode got underway, Josh made his way to Jessica to let her know that she is not his target. Jessica was not about to bow down to him, so she mocked him once again.  Over the course of the summer, the pair has been at odds every step of the way, so it made sense that Jess would think Josh was trying to stir the pot.  Josh then lets her know that it’s only Cody he does not like, and Cody was in the room, so it was a rather ballsy move when you consider that Cody has immunity.  Jessica is not one to allow anyone to talk badly about her man of so many weeks, so she exits the conversation and brands it a big fat waste of time.  When it came to veto plans, Paul recalled that Christmas had the Ring of Replacement, and decided to use it to his advantage. He wanted her to use it in the event Cody’s name is called.  However, Paul revealed in the Diary Room that he wants Christmas to use it so that he can flush it out of the game so that she does not use it against him later.  Not one to listen to the leader, Christmas turned to Josh, and he told her not to use it so they can have it at their disposal later.  They tell Paul that they don’t want to use the power this week, but Paul turns the tables and reiterates that they absolutely need to send Jessica home or there will be hell to pay.  Christmas then says the best course of action is if Josh blinks at Christmas during the players being picked. That way she will know to use it.  When Cody’s name is picked, Josh blinks, and Christmas shuts him right out of the competition. This sends Jessica and Cody into a fit of despair as they realize the odds are stacked against them.  It’s the OTEV competition, and Elena is first out. Jessica is out second and starts crying again because she knows that means she is going home.  Mark ultimately wins the competition, meaning Josh needs to name a replacement nominee.  In the end, Josh puts up Raven, meaning she joins Elena and Jessica on the block.  It’s obvious that Jessica is going home, so there’s really no question about it.  Who do you want to go home? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Big Brother Winners: RANKED!
