On Monday (Nov. 4) during his interview with New York’s Power 105.1  The Breakfast Club , Jason Mitchell took time to address both claims, denying any wrongdoing and claims that both in part are misunderstandings. In regards to his departure from Netflix’s “Desperados” in April due to an incident involving an intoxicated female co-worker at a pre-production event in Mexico, Jason states that he was simply looking out for a coworker. “Being the person that I am, I felt responsible to make sure she got home,” Jason Mitchell said. “Because they’re already telling us, like, ‘Don’t take the Ubers, don’t trust these people, don’t jump in a cab, don’t do any of that.’ We’re in Mexico City and we’re in a foreign land and we should stick together. This isn’t where I leave her. So I make sure she got home and the next day, it kind of all slapped me in the face; I’m not sure if her and her significant other had a situation, I made sure she got home but other than that, nothing really happened.” Jason claims that although he did nothing wrong, he was dismissed from the film with pay but without an explanation as to why he was let go, before apologizing for offending anyone. “For anybody who’s been around me, they know I’m one of the most loving, sweet people in the world, but if I did do anything, say anything, make anybody feel any kind of way, you have my deepest apologies,” Mitchell continued. “Like, honestly, my deepest apologies. Because that was never my intention of making anybody feel any sort of way.” Mitchell also denied any wrong doing with former  The Chi co-star Tiffany Boone , who publicly admitted that she felt “unsafe” around the actor. Mitchell claims that the story was pushed by the hit show’s showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis. “There was actually no situation with Tiffany Boone,” Jason Mitchell said. “She was put in this position because this lady, Ayanna Floyd Davis, she did come out and go to Deadline and made a statement for Tiffany Boone. I was a little taken back by the whole situation that happened, but the actual reason I got let go was because Disney saw what was going on with ‘Desperados’ and they just bought Showtime,” Mitchell explained. “So they decided not to pick up my option. And of course, I’ve been on the show for what was about to be three seasons, I was nominated for an award, so I was asking for more money and all these sorts of things and they just weren’t down to do it.” Mitchell went onto say that while he is an avid supporter of the “Me Too” movement, it’s situations like his that make it hard to stand in solidarity when someone makes a malicious claim. “I really hate to say this, because I’m all for the Me Too movement,” Mitchell continued. “I have two beautiful daughters who I would like to be in the business, so I’m all for the Me Too movement. 12-Year-Old Flint Activist Raises Over $130K For Water Filtration Systems

1 2-year-old activist Amariyanna Copeny ⁠ —dubbed Little Miss Flint⁠—is furthering her efforts to address the water crisis in her city. According to Atlanta Black Star , Copeny teamed up with a water filtration company to make clean water accessible within her community. This is my water filter. The funds will go towards creating a long-term sustainable solution to the water crisis by bringing state-of-the-art water filters to underserved communities. The implementation of the water filters would give individuals the ability to have safe running water within their households instead of spending long periods of time waiting in line to get donated bottles of water. It would also curb plastic waste. Over $130,000 has been raised towards her $150,000 goal. Copeny is partnering with the company Hydroviv which designs and builds custom water filters. “Ever since April 2014 my community has been faced with a lead crisis that we’re still recovering from. My community needed water they could trust and bottled water was the only resource for drinking water that many in my community trusted,” she wrote on her GoFundMe page . “For my new donation campaign, my team has partnered with a socially-responsible water filtration company, which will allow us to maximize the impact of donated funds and eliminate the single-use plastic waste that is associated with bottled water.” Copeny has been dedicated to spreading awareness about the Flint water crisis and evoking change. Through her campaigns, she’s donated over one million bottles of water to families in need. Young activists are stepping up to address Flint’s water crisis. In March, rapper and actor Jaden Smith ’s eco-friendly natural spring water brand JUST Goods Inc. joined forces with Flint’s First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church to implement a system called “The Water Box” which can help reduce lead and other toxic chemicals in contaminated water. TRIED IT: This Pre-Shampoo Is The Perfect Detangler For Sensitive Scalps

A pre-shampoo helps to soften and moisturize your hair before you put shampoo on it. They also help to minimize breakage by increasing elasticity. If you have a lot of product build up it will help loosen and cleanse your hair prior to your shampoo. I was getting ready to put my hair in a protective style, so I wanted to give my hair maximum nutrients. My hair had been in a natural afro for the week, making it a bit rough. The pre-shampoo helps soften the hair. I tried African Pride Moisture Miracle Aloe and Coconut Water Pre-Shampoo ($6.85, walmart.com ). Aloe is great for your hair as it acts as a conditioner and also contains proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp, promoting healthy cell turnover. It also promotes hair growth, which I’m here for. Coconut water is incredibly hydrating and prevents breakage. This is great for when your hair is a bit sensitive. I sectioned my hair in four, then sectioned each section in two (in a layered type of way). I applied the product directly to my dry hair. At first, I didn’t love it. It has a jelly like consistency. However, once I started shingling and really working the product into my hair, my hair started thriving! I finger combed through my hair with the product. My curl pattern was fully defined, my hair was soaking up the product. I borderline considered using this for my wash and go in the future. That’s how much I enjoyed the way my curls looked and my hair felt. After 45 minutes, my hair was soft, supple, and easy to work through with my fingers. Alleged Drug Dealer Charged In Connection With Mac Miller’s Death

Source: WENN / WENN Mac Miller ‘s death last September was due to an accidental overdose and now the man who allegedly gave Miller the drugs has been arrested. Cameron James Pettit, 28,  was arrested by DEA agents on Wednesday (Sept 4), nearly one year to the date of Miller’s untimely death. Pettit is accused of supplying Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl. A 42-page criminal complaint released by federal authorities revealed that Pettit delivered drugs to Miller days before his overdose, allegedly giving the rapper fentanyl-laced oxy pills, cocaine and Xanax. If convicted, Pettit faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
