Update Times Square Bombing Attempt: US Officials Released A Diagram Of The Car-Bomb

The car which contained a bomb made from fertilizer, fireworks, petrol and propane gas tanks was left in Times Square on Saturday evening. The car was identified as 1993 Nissan Pathfinder which was parked while its engine was still running and hazard lights were flashing. After a street vendor noticed a smoke coming from the car, he immediately alerted the police, and then the bomb was discovered and dismantled just before it could explode. When the alarm was raised, Time Square was packed with tourists and theatergoers. Police officers evacuated a wide area of the district and closed subway lines. According to the officials, the bomb was crude, but it could have sparked a significant fireball and sprayed shrapnel, which could possibly kill pedestrians and break windows.
