This is certainly turning into an interesting week for Hot 97′s DJ Funkmaster Flex. Earlier yesterday morning, the following statement appeared on a blog to which Flex’s wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor, contributes heavily: After almost 18 years of friendship and marriage it is with great regret that I announce my husband Aston Taylor, also known as Funkmaster Flex, and I are separated. We have tremendous love and respect for each-other, and will continue to work on our professional projects together. Our top priority has and will always be our children! I personally ask that the press keep in mind Flex is the celebrity, not myself or my children, please respect our privacy. A link to the post, titled “Personal Statement” was even tweeted out to the less than 600 people who follow the site on which it appeared, MommysDirtyLittleSecret.com. However, as of press time, that post has been deleted. Was Monica Joseph-Taylor just the latest victim of hacking? Or is the above statement the official announcement of the end of her marriage to Flex? If so, the timing is certainly interesting, coming the morning after Flex had a little on air meltdown regarding Mr. Cee arrest scandal , minutes after Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy called Flex out on air over his threats… and a full two months after both Monica and Flex downplayed an argument that turned physical.
