Survivor of Tripoli Air Crash Is A 10-Year Old Boy: Libya’s Afriqiyah Airways, Airbus A330, Flight 8u771

As per media reports and officials, Libyan Airbus A330 plane crashed on landing at Tripoli airport that killed 103 people on board, most of them Dutch, while a ten-year-old boy was the sole survivor. From the state-run Jana news agency report, the 96 bodies of victims of different nationalities have been found in the air crash in the Libyan capital of Tripoli. A doctor at the hospital was quoted by the network as saying that the child is suffering several bone fractures in his legs but he is in a stable condition as shows on the footage aired on Doha-based al-Jazeera news channel. Libya’s Afriqiyah Airways authorities reported that the Airbus A330 is flying from Johannesburg to Tripoli and carrying 104 people including 11 crew members on board, crashed during the process of landing at about 6: 00 a.m. (0400 GMT). Airbus A330 with Flight 8U771 which is reportedly bound for London’s Gatwick airport carrying different nationalities need to be further investigated, “I can say that there are Libyans, Africans and Europeans.” Yet, al-Jazeera said the passengers list included 62 Dutch nationals and citizens from Finland, South Africa, Germany, Britain, France and Zimbabwe, as well as two Libyan nationals, minister said. Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 Crashed Killed 105 In Libyan Capital

As reported on Al-Jazeera television, a total of 105 people including 94 passengers and 11 crew members were killed in an air crash on Wednesday at Tripoli airport. Media reports that the Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 crashed at about 6:00 am (0400 GMT), killing 105 people on board. Operated by an Airbus A330 flying from Johannesburg to London, crashed on approach to Tripoli airport killing all 93 passengers and 11 crew, although a later report said a 8-year-old Dutch child was the sole survivor. According to the airport authorities, the Libyan plane, Flight 8U771, was flying from Johannesburg to Tripoli when the accident took place. It crashed during the process of landing. There were 93 passengers and 11 crews from the issued statement of the company to confirm the crash but said . The statement did not give details about the casualties and survivors. The airline was established in April 2001 and commenced scheduled services on 1 December 2001. It is wholly owned by the Libyan government and has 287 employees (at March 2007).
