The world commemorates William Shakespeare’s 446th death anniversary today. Shakespeare is known to be an impeccable playwright, who wrote around 38 plays in his time. He also performed in many of his plays. Some of his most read and loved plays are “Hamlet”, “King Lear”, “Macbeth”, “Othello”, “The Merchant of Venice”, “Comedy of Errors’, and “Midsummer Nights’ Dream”. He was regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called as England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon”. Shakespeare died on April 23, 1616. In his will, he left the bulk of his large estate to his elder daughter Susanna. He was buried in the chancel of the Holy Trinity Church two days after his death.
