Eliot Spitzer Says Anthony Weiner Is A Bad Husband For Having Wife On Campaign Trial Via NYDailyNews Even a man who repeatedly cheated on his wife with high-priced hookers thinks Anthony Weiner is a bad husband. As he campaigns for city controller, former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been shaking hands at subway stops and visiting churches without his wife, Silda Wall, anywhere in sight. But Spitzer and his team claim her absence is only because the former Love Gov is interested in protecting her. “Regarding (Silda’s) appearances on the campaign trail, no husband would ask his wife and family to step into the media frenzy surrounding the campaign at this time,” Spitzer spokeswoman Lisa Linden said. That’s a clear shot at sext-happy Weiner, who on Tuesday balanced his teetering mayoral campaign directly on the shoulders of his wife, Huma Abedin. Abedin threw Weiner a lifeline Tuesday when she stepped forward at a news conference to tell the city’s voters that she has forgiven her scandal-scarred husband and therefore they could, too. Weiner’s candidacy is his first since he resigned from Congress in June 2011 for sending sexually explicit photos and messages and then lying about it.
