He told Extra while he was being honored for his work at the American Cinemateque Awards. Damon said “The biggest role I probably turned down was ‘Avatar’,” Damon lamented. “I turned that down because of scheduling reasons.” The character was portrayed by an Australian actor, Sam Worthington, who plays the role of Jake Sully of this movie wherein it has gone into box office history, earning more than $2.5 billion worldwide. Sam Worthington was quick to sign on for the much-awaited sequel to “Avatar,” possibly to ward off any other interested actors. Damon also said that he is looking forward to golfer Tiger Woods’ return to the course at the upcoming Masters.
