Chennai Super Kings has beaten Mumbai Indians in the final of the 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL). Suresh Raina’s unconquered innings of 57 helped Chennai Super Kings and beat Mumbai Indians by 22 runs. Raina’s 57 came off just 35 balls and included three fours and many sixes. Chennai set Mumbai a target of 168 but restricted them to 146-9 to earn the victory with Sachin Tendulkar top scoring for the Indians with 48. Raina’s half-century stand against Mahendra Singh Dhoni (22) helped in part to them setting a target of 168-5 from their 20 overs. Shadab Jakati was the pick of the Super Kings bowlers with figures of 3-31. He took the prized of wicket of Tendulkar. The Super Kings had been fighting at 68-3 at the end of the 12th over but the turnaround came when Raina was first on 13 when a mistimed pull landed safely between Dilhara Fernando and Abhishek Nayar. The bigger blow came in the 15th over when left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati removed Tendulkar and Saurabh Tiwary and this effectively end Mumbai’s hopes of victory.
